60Co-γ ray irradiation has the unique advantages of high efficiency, strong penetration, operation at room temperature and no residue, which has been widely used in the sterilization of Chinese medicinal materials, decoction pieces, Chinese patent medicine. However, the irradiation effect may cause changes in the content of chemical components in Chinese materia medica or the emergence of new radiolysis products, leading to reduced efficacy and uncontrollable safety risks. This paper reviewed the relevant literature at home and abroad, summarized the effect of irradiation sterilization on various types of chemical compositions of Chinese medicinal materials and their preparations, and analyzed and explored the rule of change. The results showed that the content changes of various chemical components in Chinese materia medica after 60Co-γ ray irradiation sterilization varied. The contents of most flavonoids, terpenoids, phenylpropanoids and quinones decreased after irradiation, and the degree of decrease increased with the elevated irradiation dose. The contents of lignans, alkaloids, isoflavones and some terpenoids did not change significantly before and after irradiation, while the content changes of triterpenoid saponins, dihydroflavonols, chalcones, sugars and glycosides after irradiation were not yet uniform. Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention to the compositional changes of irradiated Chinese medicines, strengthen the research on the standards of irradiated Chinese medicines, and standardize the irradiation and sterilization of Chinese medicines in order to promote the healthy and rational application of irradiated Chinese medicines.

ObjectiveBased on the Huangdi Neijing,a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)identification scale of five human qualities was constructed and applied in elderly people to evaluate its reliability and validity. MethodsBased on the original text of the Huangdi Neijing and a review of relevant ancient and modern literature, an identification scale of five human qualities was developed through Delphi expert interviews. Offline surveys were conducted to evaluate the feasibility, reliability, and validity of its application in elderly people, and the scale was evaluated and revised. ResultsThe scale of five human qualities is divided into five subscales:wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Each subscale is divided into four dimensions:morphological structure, psychological characteristics, tolerance, and physiological characteristics, with a total of 75 items. The survey results in elderly people show that:(1) The recovery rate and completion rate are 100%,and the average filling time is 23.3 min. 85.5% of the samples are completed within the preset time. (2) Reliability analysis results:The homogeneity reliability of each subscale,Chronbach's α,ranges from 0.702 to 0.793. The scores of each subscale in the split-half reliability range from 0.758 to 0.841, indicating that the internal consistency of the scale is good. (3) Validity analysis results. Content validity:During the development stage of the scale, the item pool, dimensions, and structure of the scale are designed reasonably, and the content is complete. The evaluation of content validity shows that the item-level content validity index (I-CVI) ranges from 0.83 to 1.00, and the scale-level content validity index for universal agreement (S-CVI/UA) is 0.92,indicating good content validity of the scale. Construct validity extracts 22 common factors based on an eigenvalue of 1,with a contribution rate of 62.333% to the overall system. The number of common factors in the five subscales is 4,5,4,5,and 4,respectively,with contribution rates of 52.64%,53.376%,51.445%,51.359%,and 50.714%,respectively,indicating the required structure for physical fitness measurement in elderly people. ConclusionThe scale constructed in this study has high reliability and validity, and it is suitable for evaluating the physical condition of elderly people in TCM.

Recent studies have revealed a significant association between Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.gingivalis)infection and poor prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Although cer-tain circular RNAs(circRNA)have been shown to suppress ESCC tumorigenesis and progression, their regulatory mechanisms in P.gingivalis infection-associated ESCC remain elusive. In this study,RT-qPCR analysis demonstrated that P.gingivalis infection downregulated hsa_circ_0057552 expression in ESCC cells and tissues in a time-and dose-dependent manner.Actinomycin D assays further confirmed that P.gingivalis infection reduced the RNA stability of hsa_circ_0057552 in ESCC cells(P<0.05).Functional assays in vitro and a subcutaneous tumor xenograft model in vivo revealed that hsa_circ_0057552 overexpression significantly inhibited ESCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumor growth(P<0.05).Additionally,PCR array screening combined with RT-qPCR and Western blotting in-dicated that P.gingivalis infection markedly upregulated human antigen R(HuR)expression at both RNA and protein levels(P<0.05).Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that HuR knockdown signifi-cantly increased hsa_circ_0057552 expression(P<0.01),whereas hsa_circ_0057552 overexpression had no regulatory effect on HuR.Finally,si-HuR treatment reversed the inhibitory effect of P.gingivalis on hsa_circ_0057552 transcription. This study demonstrated that P.gingivalis may promote the progression of ESCC through a novel mechanism involving the regulation of HuR/hsa_circ_0057552,thereby identif-ying a novel therapeutic target and molecular marker for P.gingivalis-associated ESCC.

Objective:To investigate the impact of fibroblast growth factor(FGF)on recurrence following segmen-tal mastectomy in patients with plasma cell mastitis. Methods:A total of 162 female patients diagnosed with plasma cell mastitis(PCM)were selected from our hospital from October 2021 to May 2023.All patients underwent segmental mastectomy. They were divided into recurrence group(n=28)and non-recurrence group(n=134)according to the follow-up survey on recurrence.Conduct a univariate analysis on the factors influencing recurrence in patients with PCM who undergo segmental mastectomy. After correcting for confounding factors, conduct a multiple linear regression analysis.Using a multivariate logistic regression model to explore the independent risk factors for recurrence in patients undergo-ing segmental mastectomy for PCM.Utilizing logistic regression analysis to explore the independent, multiplicative,or additive interaction between FGF and angiogenic factor in the management of recurrence in PCM patients undergoing segmental mastectomy. The Local Weighted Regression Scatter Method(LOWESS)is used to analyze the two-dimensional curve relationship of continuous variables.Evaluate the predictive efficacy of FGF for PCM recurrence fol-lowing segmental mastectomy using Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)curves. Results:The results of univariate analysis showed that the body mass index(BMI),estradiol, prolactin levels, nipple depression, and sinus phase propor-tion of patients in the recurrent group were significantly higher than those in the non recurrent group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before surgery and 1 and 3 months after surgery, the levels of FGF,vascu-lar endothelial growth factor(VEGF),endostatin(ES),and VEGF/ES in the recurrent group were higher than those in the non recurrent group, with statistically significant differences between the groups(P<0.05).The intra group comparison results showed that compared with before surgery, all indicators in both groups of patients were significantly reduced at 1 month after surgery(P<0.05),while in the recurrent group, all indicators were significantly increased at 3 months after surgery(P<0.001).Logistic regression analysis showed that patients with elevated FGF had a higher risk of recurrence in PCM(P<0.05).LOWESS analysis found that there is a certain non-linear relationship between PCM recurrence rate and FGF.FGF has good predictive performance for PCM recurrence. After further adjusting for various confounding fac-tors such as BMI,it was found that the angiogenic factor is related to FGF.The interaction results show that there is an additive or multiplicative interaction between FGF and VEGF/ES.Conclusion:FGF elevation increases the risk of re-currence after segmental mastectomy for PCM.FGF and VEGF/ES exhibit additive or multiplicative interactions.FGF has good predictive performance for PCM recurrence.
