Objective To investigate the recovery of plasma metabolism in asymptomatic and mild patients of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)one year after recovery. Methods A total of 174 participants were recruited from the communities in Wuhan, including 80 healthy volunteers and the COVID-19 patients who had recovered for one year.According to the disease severity, the recovered COVID-19 patients were grouped as asymptomatic patients(n=80)and mild patients(n=14).The liquid chromatography mass spectrometry platform was employed to study the metabolomic characteristics of the plasma from all the participants. Results The plasma metabolites in asymptomatic patients and mild patients remained abnormal compared with those in healthy volunteers.Among the differential metabolites in asymptomatic patients and mild patients, some metabolites showed a downward trend only in mild patients, such as phosphatidylethanolamine[20∶3(5Z,8Z,11Z)/P-18∶0],sphingomyelin(d18∶1/24∶0),and cholesteryl(15∶0).The metabolic pathway involving the differential metabolites in mild patients was mainly glycerophospholipid metabolism. Conclusions Even one year after recovery, the mild COVID-19 patients still exhibit metabolic abnormalities.Hence, these patients may experience an extended period of time for recovery.

Aim To investigate the role of miR-130b-3p in regulating the USP47/NLRP3 inflammasome in airway remodeling associated with asthma and to explore its potential therapeutic value in asthma treat-ment.Methods An OVA-induced asthma mouse mod-el was established, and intervention with miR-130b-3p agomir was performed.Histological staining,quantita-tive real-time PCR,Western blot, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry were used to analyze the effects of miR-130b-3p on the expression of USP47,NLRP3,and related inflammatory factors,as well as the inflamma-some activity. Results miR-130b-3p was significantly downregulated in asthmatic mice, and its intervention significantly inhibited airway epithelial damage,inflam-matory cell infiltration, and collagen deposition.Addi-tionally,miR-130b-3p targeted USP47 and indirectly suppressed NLRP3 expression, leading to reduced in-flammasome activity and alleviated asthma-related in-flammatory responses. Conclusion miR-130b-3p re-duces asthma-related inflammatory responses by down-regulating USP47 expression and indirectly inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activity.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in right-hand ultrasound physicians and identify contributing factors for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) .Methods:From May 2023 to February 2025, 188 ultrasound physicians from 15 hospitals in Heilongjiang Province were surveyed using questionnaires to assess their prevalence of wrist-specific mechanical strain disorders (WMSDs) over the past year. Neurophysiological tests were conducted, and logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors affecting the right carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) .Results:The prevalence of wrist WMSDs among ultrasound physicians was 48.4% (91/188) . Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that age and frequent probe pressure application were associated with 2.14-fold and 4.04-fold increased CTS risk, respectively. Conclusion:Enhance society's attention to the health of noise-exposed physiciansand providing a foundation for implementing targeted interventions.

Taxifolin (TAX) is a natural compound known for its liver protection effect, but the mechanism remains unknown. Phosphorylated proteomics analyses discovered that the phosphorylation level of NDRG1 at T328 was a key event of TAX-improved liver fibrosis. We established models with NDRG1 knockout (KO) in vivo and in vitro, demonstrating that NDRG1 KO attenuated the development of hepatocyte injury, and combining NDRG1 KO and TAX administration did not result in a reduction in protection against liver injury. Cellular thermal shift assay and surface plasma resonance analysis showed that TAX directly binds to NDRG1 rather than its upstream kinase, subsequently demonstrating that TAX regulated phosphorylation of NDRG1 at T328 through binding to its C289 site. NDRG1 T328A (phosphorylated mutation) and T328E (mimic phosphorylation) in vivo and in vitro confirmed that pNDRG1T328 exacerbates hepatocyte injury along with DNA damage, inflammatory response, and apoptosis, thereby contributing to hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation. In contrast, TAX can inhibit the above pathological abnormalities and block hepatocyte injury-triggered HSCs activation and fibrosis. Overall, TAX is a potent liver protection drug primarily targeting NDRG1 and inhibiting pNDRG1T328 in hepatocytes.

Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics and differences in antimicrobial resistance be-tween catheter-associated urinary tract infection(CAUTI)and non-CAUTI of healthcare-associated infection(HAI),and provide scientific basis for precise clinical prevention and control. Methods Based on the regional HAI surveillance platform in Suzhou City, urinary tract infection(UTI)surveillance data reported by 61 member units from January 2020 to December 2024 were analyzed retrospectively.Pathogen distribution, detection rate of multi-drug-resistant organisms(MDROs),and antimicrobial resistance spectrum characteristics of patients in the CAUTI group and non-CAUTI group were compared. Results The incidence of CAUTI in patients in CAUTI group was 0.99‰,the incidence of healthcare-associated UTI in patients in non-CAUTI group was 0.14%.There was statis-tically significant difference in the distribution of UTI pathogens between the two groups(P<0.05).The patho-gens of the CAUTI group were mainly Gram-negative bacteria(56.1%),with high proportions of Escherichia coli(19.6%)and Klebsiella pneumoniae(15.0%).In the non-CAUTI group, the proportion of Gram-negative bacteria was higher(64.7%).Antimicrobial susceptibility testing results showed that the resistance rates of Escherichia co-li to tobramycin, cephalosporins, and carbapenems in the CAUTI group were all higher than those in the non-CAU-TI group(all P<0.05).Except for tigecycline, the resistance rates of Klebsiella pneumoniae to other antimicrobial agents in the CAUTI group were all significantly different from the non-CAUTI group(all P<0.05).The resis-tance rates of Acinetobacterbaumannii to ticarcillin/clavulanic acid, quinolones, most cephalosporins, carbapenems, and aminoglycosides in the CAUTI group were higher than those of the non-CAUTI group(all P<0.05).The de-tection rates of MDROs were higher in the CAUTI group, especially that of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneu-moniae,accounting for 57.8%.Conclusion There are significant differences in pathogen distribution and antimi-crobial resistance of UTI between the CAUTI group and the non-CAUTI group. It is necessary to establish a re-gional antimicrobial resistance surveillance system for pathogens in UTI,and provide basis for the rational use of an-timicrobial agents in clinical practice.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2025;77(4):627-640
Circadian rhythms are core regulatory mechanisms that evolved to align biological functions with the Earth's rotation. These rhythms are conserved across organisms from unicellular life to multicellular species and play essential roles in metabolism, immune responses, and sleep-wake cycle. Circadian disruptions are strongly associated with various diseases. Over the past decades, genetic studies in Drosophila and mice have identified key conserved clock genes and uncovered transcription-translation feedback loops governing circadian regulation. Additionally, rhythmic neurons in the brain integrate complex neural circuits to precisely regulate physiological and behavioral rhythms. This review highlights recent advances in understanding the neuronal circuit mechanisms of rhythmic neurons in the Drosophila brain and discusses future directions for translating circadian rhythm research into chronomedicine and precision therapies.
