In response to the current shift in the main content and research focus of life education, which is gradually shifting from the behavioural norms of “health and safety” to thinking about the essence of life and issues of life and death. Drawing on the theoretical resources of the political philosophy of life, it was pointed out that the internalization of “life” has led to the incidence of “burnout” and depression. Faced with the technological rationalism of contemporary society, how to deal with external technological training was the real problem that life education needs to solve. For life education, it was necessary to study how to reemphasize the practical dimension, as well as expand the theme of “health and safety” from simple behavioural norms to ways of dealing with modern society and showcasing life forms.

BACKGROUND:Traditional Chinese medicine has rich experience and unique advantages in the empirical treatment of phlegm-heat and Fu-organs excess syndrome of ischemic stroke. In order to further explore the therapeutic targets and mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine for this disease,it is crucial to establish a stable and reliable animal model of phlegm-heat and Fu-organs excess syndrome combined with empirical symptoms of ischemic stroke. OBJECTIVE:To explore the establishment method and evaluation system of the rat model of ischemic stroke with phlegm-heat and Fu-organ excess syndrome. METHODS:Sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups:blank control group(n=12),ischemic stroke group(n=18),disease+syndrome group(n=18),phlegm-heat and Fu-organ excess syndrome group(n=12),all of which were given high-fat diet for 25 days.On the 26th day,the rats in the blank control group and ischemic stroke group were intragastrically given normal saline and high fat diet, while those in the other two groups were intragastrically given autologous feces suspension and high fat diet for 3 continuous days. After gavage, ischemic stroke models were established using the suture method in the ischemic stroke group and disease+syndrome group. The changes in diet, water intake, body mass, body temperature, fecal traits, nasal secretions, sputum in the throat, and tongue image were recorded.Neurological deficits, tongue image, blood lipid levels, morphological changes of brain tissue and carotid artery, and the serum levels of motilin and somatostatin were detected. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control group, the rats in the disease+syndrome group had shortness of breath, listlessness, irritability, bradykinesia,a large number of secretions around the nose, audible and heavy sputum in the throat, decreased diet and water intake, increased body mass, body temperature, and slingual vein score, decreased fecal pellet count,Bristol score and fecal moisture content, increased serum total cholesterol,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein and somatostatin levels, decreased motilin level, increased neurological deficit score, significant pathological changes of the carotid artery, and significant morphological changes of the brain tissue. The ischemic stroke group only showed pathological changes of ischemic brain tissue, without the characteristics of phlegm-heat and Fu-organ excess syndrome. The phlegm-heat and Fu-organ excess syndrome group could present with the typical characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes, without the pathological changes of brain tissue with ischemic stroke. To conclude, the compound modeling method of high-fat induction combined with suture method and autologous feces gavage can establish an animal model of ischemic stroke with phlegm-heat and Fu-organ excess syndrome.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) can be classified as pulmonary collateral disease, and its pathogenesis is mainly characterized by the loss of Qi meridian nourishment, the loss of Yin meridian nourishment, and the formation of blood stasis in the blood vessels. Qi Yin deficiency is the pathological basis that runs through IPF,and obstruction of meridians and collaterals is a key element in the development of the disease. The dysfunction of "spleen being in charge of the defensive function" is closely related to the formation of the pathological pattern of "lung deficiency and collateral stasis" in IPF. The term "spleen being in charge of the defensive function" originated from the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon. If the spleen is healthy, the Qi will be filled with vitality. Positive energy is stored inside, evil cannot be dried up. Its concept is quite similar to the immune defense function in modern medicine. If the principle of "spleen being in charge of the defensive function" is lost, the key structure and function of the IPF alveolar epithelial barrier may be abnormal, and it can interact with various innate immune cells to promote inflammation and fibrosis processes. Therefore, this article explains the imbalance of immune homeostasis in IPF alveolar epithelium from two aspects:the barrier function of alveolar epithelial cells(AECs) and their interaction with innate immune cells. And based on the theory of "spleen being in charge of the defensive function",using traditional Chinese medicine for strengthening the spleen and nourishing Qi to treat IPF from the perspective of the spleen. This not only strengthens the scientific connotation of "spleen being in charge of the defensive function" in the pathogenesis of IPF,but also provides new research directions and ideas for its future clinical prevention and treatment.

ObjectiveTo understand the surveillance of influenza-like illness (ILI) and influenza vaccination status in Jing’an District, Shanghai, and to provide a basis for optimizing influenza prevention and control strategies. MethodsThe sentinel surveillance data for ILI and virological surveillance data of influenza viruses in Jing’an District were collected from the Chinese influenza surveillance information system, and data for influenza vaccination were collected from Shanghai immunization information system from September 2017 to August 2023. Epidemiological characteristics of ILI, influenza etiology, and the temporal and population distributions of influenza vaccination were analyzed using descriptive epidemiological methods. ResultsILI as a percentage of total visit surveillance units (ILI%) reported by sentinel hospital was increased in Jing’an District of Shanghai from September 2017 to August 2023 (F=18.841, P=0.012). The peak of the influenza cases mainly appeared in winter-spring, but there were two peaks in winter-spring and summer from September 2019 to August 2020, from September 2020 to August 2021, and from September 2021 to August 2022. In particular, there were two peaks in winter-spring from September 2022 to August 2023, with a rebound during the descending process. The average positive rate of ILI was 21.64% (2 421/11 189) during the 6 years. There was a peak in winter-spring during every year with the exception of the period from September 2020 to August 2021. The dominant strains were B/Yamagata and A/H1N1 in winter-spring from September 2017 to August 2018. The dominant strain was A/H1N1 in winter-spring from September 2018 to August 2019 and from September 2022 to August 2023. The dominant strain was B/Victoria in winter-spring from September 2019 to August 2020 and from September 2021 to August 2022. Different subtype strains occurred alternately, and the dominant strains were A/H1N1 and A/H3N2 in recent years. The influenza vaccination coverage was 2.94% from September 2017 to August 2023, and the vaccination coverage was highest in young children. The vaccination coverage for females was higher than that for males (χ2=546.963, P<0.001), and the vaccination coverage for registered residents was higher compared to that for migrants (χ2=123.141, P<0.001). ConclusionILI% exhibits an upward trend in Jing’an District of Shanghai, and the dominant strain is A subtype. The influenza vaccination coverage is still low, which is insufficient to have an impact on the spread of influenza. It is recommended that the surveillance of ILI and variations of influenza virus strains should be improved continuously, and effective steps should be taken to promote influenza vaccination.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical characteristics and influential factors of drug-induced liver injury (DILI) in children caused by intravenous azithromycin. METHODS Clinical data of 157 DILI pediatric cases caused by intravenous azithromycin, reported by the Hengshui Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center from January 2015 to January 2025, were collected as the observation group. Clinical data of pediatric patients who received intravenous azithromycin but did not develop DILI during the same period at Hengshui People’s Hospital were collected in a 1∶1 ratio to serve as the control group. The clinical classification, severity and prognosis of DILI in pediatric patients from the observation group were analyzed. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were used to screen the independent risk factors for DILI in children caused by intravenous azithromycin. RESULTS Among 157 DILI cases, 92 cases (58.60%) had hepatocellular injury-type, 51 cases (32.48%) had cholestatic-type, and 14 cases (8.92%) had mixed-type. DILI severity was grade 1 in 117 cases (74.52%), grade 2 in 33 cases (21.02%), and grade 3 in 7 cases (4.46%). Liver function had all recovered after stopping medication and symptomatic treatment. Combined with acetaminophen [OR=3.769, 95%CI (1.615, 8.235), P=0.021], daily dose of azithromycin>10 mg/kg [OR= 2.237, 95%CI (1.075, 4.655), P=0.034] were independent risk factors for DILI in children caused by intravenous azithromycin. CONCLUSIONS Hepatocellular injury-type and cholestatic-type are relatively common in children with DILI caused by intravenous azithromycin, with mild severity being predominant and showing a favorable prognosis. Combination with acetaminophen and daily dose>10 mg/kg are independent risk factors for azithromycin-induced DILI in children.

Journal of Environmental and Occupational Medicine 2025;42(10):1268-1274
In recent decades, the prevalence of neurodevelopmental disorders in children has been on the rise worldwide, and executive function plays an important role in early childhood development. Previous studies have shown that environmental endocrinedisrupting chemicals can enter brain tissue through the placental and blood-brain barriers, affecting neurodevelopment and jeopardizing children’s executive function development. During pregnancy, a special period for women of reproductive age, exposure to endocrinedisrupting chemicals not only affects intrauterine development, but may also have far-reaching effects on offspring health after birth. This article focused on reviewing domestic and international research literature on the effects of exposure to endocrinedisrupting chemicals [e.g., phthalates, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFASs), and bisphenol A (BPA)] during pregnancy on offspring executive function published from 2015 to 2024, and further exploring potential associated biological mechanisms. Most studies pointed that endocrinedisrupting chemicals during pregnancy may affect children's executive function through triggering neuroinflammation, neurotransmitter disruption, and placental dysfunction. Specifically, exposure to phthalates and PBDEs during pregnancy is associated with reduced executive function in children, and the effects of PFAS and BPA are unclear. These findings suggest that more epidemiological studies and animal experiments need to be conducted in the future to deeply explore the effects of endocrinedisrupting chemicals exposure during pregnancy on children's executive function and its potential causal mechanisms, so as to provide new ideas for preventing neurodevelopmental disorders in children and promoting healthy development of children.

Background::China is one of the countries with the largest burden of gastrointestinal and liver diseases (GILD) in the world. The GILD constitutes various causes of mortality and disability. The study aimed to investigate the trend of GILD in China using the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 (GBD 2019) data resources from 1990 to 2019.Methods::The data on the age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR) and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for GILD in China from 1990 to 2019 were collected from the GBD 2019 data resources. Furthermore, the ranking of the main causes of deaths and DALYs, as well as the trends of ASMR, DALYs, years of life lost (YLLs), and years of life lost due to disability (YLDs) per 1,000,000 in GILD were reported.Results::The ASMR and DALYs for stomach cancer, liver cancer, and esophageal cancer, which ranked top three among the GILDs from 1990 to 2019, were gradually decreasing. Significant decreases in the ASMR and DALYs were found in diarrheal diseases and acute hepatitis (A, E, and C). However, noteworthy increases were found in those of colon and rectum cancer (CRC) and pancreatic cancer. Trend of DALYs, mortality, and YLLs rates for most of GILD were decreasing from 1990 to 2019, except the burden of CRC and pancreatic cancer with an increasing trend. The DALYs, mortality and YLLs of most GILD diseases showed decreasing trends from 1990 to 2019, except the burden of CRC and pancreatic cancer with an increasing trends.Conclusions::The result of the GBD 2019 showed that the rates of most GILDs decreased in China; however, gastrointestinal and liver cancer, such as stomach cancer still held the top ranking. Furthermore, the shift from infectious diseases to non-communicable causes among GILD burden is occurring.

Objective:To develop a nursing performance management indicator system for a dental specialty hospital based on the balanced scorecard framework. Methods:Utilizing the balanced scorecard as a theoretical framework, the preliminary indicator system was developed through literature analysis and semi-structured interviews. From July to September 2023, two rounds of expert panel inquiries were conducted to select, modify, and refine the indicators, thus establishing the system. The engagement of the experts was indicated by the effective response rate of the questionnaires, the authority of the experts by an expert authority coefficient, and the consensus among expert opinions by Kendall's coefficient of concordance. Results:In the first round, 22 questionnaires were distributed, and 22 were effectively returned, yielding an 100% response rate. In the second round, 22 questionnaires were distributed, and 19 were effectively returned, with an 86% response rate. The authority coefficients for the two rounds were 0.866 and 0.868, respectively, while Kendall's coefficients of concordance were 0.333 and 0.335 ( P<0.01). The final system comprised four primary indicators, 13 secondary indicators, and 38 tertiary indicators. Conclusions:The nursing performance management indicator system for the dental specialty hospital developed in this study is scientifically sound, comprehensive, and reliable. It can be a reference for nursing performance management in dental specialty hospitals.

Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2024;30(31):4262-4269
Objective:To evaluate the effects of mind-body exercise on breast cancer patients using a Meta-analysis.Methods:Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effects of mind-body exercises on breast cancer patients were systematically searched in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang data, VIP, and China Biology Medicine disc, with a search period from database inception to November 30, 2023. The references of the included studies were also reviewed. After two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted information, and evaluated the quality of the included studies, a Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Results:A total of 23 RCTs involving 1 730 breast cancer patients were included. The Meta-analysis showed that, compared to conventional care, mind-body exercise significantly reduced anxiety in breast cancer patients [ SMD=-0.46, 95% CI (-0.71, -0.21), P<0.01], as well as in those undergoing chemotherapy [ SMD=-0.30, 95% CI (-0.54, -0.07), P=0.01]. Mind-body exercise also alleviated depression in breast cancer patients. Subgroup analysis found that the Baduanjin group [ SMD=-1.13, 95% CI (-1.63, -0.64), P<0.01] was more effective in alleviating depression than the yoga group [ SMD=-0.24, 95% CI (-0.41, -0.07), P<0.01]. However, there was no statistically significant effect of mind-body exercise on improving the quality of sleep in breast cancer patients [ SMD=-0.41, 95% CI (-0.89, 0.06), P=0.09]. In terms of the effect of mind-body exercise on fatigue levels in breast cancer patients, subgroup analysis showed that Baduanjin [ SMD=-0.91, 95% CI (-1.26, -0.55), P<0.01] and Tai Chi [ SMD=-0.57, 95% CI (-0.92, -0.21), P<0.01] significantly reduced fatigue levels, while yoga [ SMD=-0.43, 95% CI (-0.98, 0.12), P=0.13] did not show a statistically significant effect on reducing fatigue levels in breast cancer patients. Conclusions:Mind-body exercises can reduce anxiety and depression and alleviate the level of fatigue in breast cancer patients. However, the effects of different exercise modalities on improving sleep quality in breast cancer patients vary.
