Objective: To identify the spatio-temporal clustering analysis of mumps in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province from 2010 to 2023, so as to provide the basis for improving mumps prevention and control strategies. Methods: Data of mumps cases in Wenzhou City from 2010 to 2023 were collected from the Monitoring and Reporting Management System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The spatio-temporal clustering characteristics of mumps incidence were identified using spatial autocorrelation analysis and spatio-temporal scan analysis. Results: A total of 20 455 mumps cases were reported in Wenzhou City from 2010 to 2023, with an average annual incidence of 17.54/105. There were 12 919 male and 7 536 female cases, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.71∶1. The children aged 5-<10 years had the highest incidence of mumps at 135.29/105. The incidence of mumps showed a downward trend from 46.82/105 in 2010 to 3.59/105 in 2023 (P<0.05). The incidence of mumps peaked from May to July and from November to January during 2010 and 2012, the winter peak became less evident after 2013, and no seasonal trends were observed after 2020. Spatial autocorrelation analysis showed there was a positive spatial correlation of mumps of other years, with the exception of 2018 (all Moran's I >0, all P<0.05). Lucheng District, Longwan District, Ouhai District, Cangnan County and Rui'an City were high-high clustering sites. Spatio-temporal scan analysis showed that the primary clustering area was centered in Nanbaixiang Street, Ouhai District, covering 50 towns (streets), with the clustering time from April 2010 to August 2013; the secondary clustering area was centered in Zaoxi Town, Cangnan County, covering 24 towns (streets), with the clustering time from January 2010 to June 2013. Conclusions The incidence of mumps in Wenzhou City from 2010 to 2023 showed a downward trend. The urban areas, Cangnan County and Rui'an City were the clustering areas.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and spatial-temporal clustering of scarlet fever in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province from 2015 to 2024, so as to provide a basis for prevention and control for scarlet fever. Methods: The data of scarlet fever cases in Wenzhou City from 2015 to 2024 were collected from the Surveillance System of China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the temporal, demographic, and regional distribution characteristics of scarlet fever. Spatial autocorrelation and spatio-temporal scanning analyses were employed to examine the spatial-temporal clustering of scarlet fever. Results: A total of 1 731 cases of scarlet fever were reported in Wenzhou City from 2015 to 2024, with an average annual reported incidence of 2.08/100 000 , showing a declining trend (AAPC=-11.037%, P<0.05). Incidence peaks occurred from April to June and from November to January of the following year, with seasonal indices all exceeding 100%. The average annual reported incidence was higher in males than in females (2.43/100 000 vs. 1.70/100 000, P<0.05). The cases were mainly children aged ≤10 years, with 1 662 cases accounting for 96.01%. Lucheng District, Ouhai District and Taishun County had the top three average annual reported incidences of scarlet fever, at 7.17/100 000, 5.18/100 000 and 4.73/100 000, respectively. Spatial autocorrelation analysis showed that, spatial clustering of scarlet fever cases in the periods 2015 to 2019 and 2021 to 2024 (Moran's I>0, all P<0.05). Spatio-temporal scanning analysis identified a primary-type clustering and a secondary-type clustering of scarlet fever in Wenzhou City from 2015 to 2024. The primary-type clustering was centered on Wutian Subdistrict in Ouhai District, covering 19 townships / subdistricts, with a clustering period from January 2015 to December 2019. The secondary-type clustering was centered on Xiaocun Town in Taishun County, covering 42 townships / subdistricts, with a clustering period from April 2018 to June 2019. Conclusions The incidence of scarlet fever in Wenzhou City from 2015 to 2024 showed an overall declining trend, with a high incidence among school-aged children and distinct spatial-temporal clustering. Peaks in cases occurred from April to June and from November to January of the following year. Focused prevention and control efforts are recommended in Lucheng District, Ouhai District, and Taishun County.

Objeetive : The epidemiological characteristics of confirmed cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) which was reported in Wenzhou by February 28,2020 were described and analyzed to provide evidence for prevention and control measures in next stage. Methods: The field investigation method was employed on all suspected and confirmed cases. The data of time,spatial and population distribution, source of infection and detective routes of all confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wenzhou were collected and extracted from the reports of field investigation and the National Diseases Prevention and Control Information System. Results: As of February 20,2020,504 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in Wenzhou, which included one death case. Among all 13 counties, the highest number of confirmed cases were distributed in Yueqing,Ruian and Lucheng. Among 504 cases, the male to female ratio was reported as 1.14:1. The youngest case was 2 years old while the oldest case was 93 years old. Most of the confirmed cases were among people between the ages of 25 and 64 years old. The most common occupation of the confirmed cases was businessman,which accounts for 29.76% (150 cases). Clinical symptoms of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Wenzhou occurred on January 4, 2020. Approximately 70% of cases had the first symptoms from January 19 to February 1. The daily number of new cases on January 24 and January 26 were the highest while the number of new cases per day declined significantly after February 2, and there were no new cases after February 14. Among all confirmed cases, the infection source of 61.71% cases were related to Wuhan. As of February 20, 2020, a total of 79 clusters were reported in Wenzhou, which involved 330 cases. Approximately 30% of confirmed cases came to hospitals unaccompanied by community staffs, and cases which confirmed after February 13 were basically found in central isolation locations or by grid checkers. Conclusions The main reason for the high case numbers of COVID-19 in Wenzhou, in Zhejiang province, was the high number of wenzhou citizens who work in Wuhan. Imported cases account for the most confirmed cases during the early period, while mainly confirmed cases were local cases during the middle and late periods. The outcomes suggest the prevention and control measures employed by Wenzhou government, which included closed-loop control and quantitative control, have achieved remarkable results and the epidemic of COVID-19 in Wenzhou has been initially controlled.

Objective To analyze the characteristics of malaria prevalence in Wenzhou City,so as to provide the evidence for improving the comprehensive control of malaria. Methods The epidemiological data of malaria cases in Wenzhou City in 2015 were collected and analyzed with the descriptive epidemiological methods. Results Totally 24 imported malaria cases were reported in Wenzhou City in 2015 with the incidence of 0.26 per 100000 and no case was dead. Plasmodium vivax,P. fal-ciparum,and P. ovale were identified in 1(4.17%),20(83.33%),and 3(12.50%)cases,respectively. The cases reported in Rui'an,Cangnan and Lucheng counties/districts accounted for 70.83%(17/24)of the total cases in Wenzhou City. The cases were mostly concentrated in male young adults and 23 cases(95.83%)were imported from Africa. Conclusion Malaria epi-demic situation in Wenzhou City is relatively stable and no local malaria cases were reported in 2015. However,the control work of imported malaria should be strengthened.
