ObjectiveTo explore the effects of Wumeiwan on liver metastasis and lung metastasis of colorectal cancer and its potential mechanism. MethodsFirstly， mice were randomized into control， low-dose （20 g·kg^-1） Wumeiwan， high-dose （40 g·kg^-1） Wumeiwan， and paclitaxel （10 mg·kg^-1） groups. Secondly， liver metastasis and lung metastasis models of colorectal cancer were established in mice. After 4 weeks of intervention， the body weight of each mouse was recorded， and the lung weight， liver weight， and survival time of mice with metastatic colorectal cancer were determined. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining was employed to detect the effects of Wumeiwan on liver metastasis and lung metastasis. Real-time PCR was employed to determine the mRNA levels of M1 and M2 macrophage markers in the liver tissue. Finally， the content of M1 macrophage markers CD80 and CD86 in the liver tissue was measured by flow cytometry. ResultsCompared with the control group， Wumeiwan and paclitaxel reduced the body weight （P<0.01） and liver weight （P<0.01） and prolonged the survival of the mouse model of liver metastasis of colorectal cancer （P<0.01）. In the mouse model of lung metastasis of colorectal cancer， Wumeiwan and paclitaxel also reduced the body weight （P<0.01） and lung weight （P<0.01） and extended the survival time （P<0.01）. Histopathological results showed that compared with the control group， Wumeiwan inhibited the liver and lung metastases of colorectal cancer. Real-time PCR results showed that compared with the control group， Wumeiwan upregulated the mRNA levels of M1 macrophage markers IL-1β， IL-6， tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， inducible nitric oxide synthase （iNOS）， and prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 （PTGS2） in the liver and lung tissue of mice with liver metastasis and lung metastasis of colorectal cancer （P<0.01）. Meanwhile， Wumeiwan downregulated the mRNA levels of M2 macrophage markers Arg1， CD163， and CD206 （P<0.01）. Meanwhile， the flow cytometry results showed that compared with the control group， Wumeiwan increased the content of CD86 and CD80 （P<0.01）. In addition， immunohistochemical results showed that Wumeiwan promoted the expression of CD86 and inhibited the expression of CD206 in the liver and lung tissue of mice with liver metastasis and lung metastasis. ConclusionWumeiwan can inhibit the liver metastasis and lung metastasis of colorectal cancer by promoting the M1 polarization of macrophages in the liver and lung of the model mice.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the impact of the diagnosis-related groups （DRG） payment reform on the length of stay and medical costs in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD） in Kashgar region， aiming to provide localized empirical evidence for the optimization of regional medical insurance payment methods. METHODS Based on the inpatient settlement database of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Healthcare Security Administration， settlement data of COPD inpatients from 17 medical institutions in Kashgar region between January 1， 2022， and December 31， 2024， were extracted. The overall changes in patients’ length of stay and costs were compared before and after the reform. Subsequently， interrupted time series analysis （ITSA） was employed to explore the impact of the DRG payment reform on these variables. RESULTS Following the reform， both the average length of stay and various cost decreased significantly compared to the pre-reform period （ P ＜0.001）. At the overall sample level， the average length of stay， average total cost， average drug cost， average medical service cost， and average examination cost per admission all demonstrated significant long-term downward trends after the reform （ P ＜0.05）. However， the decrease in average out-of-pocket costs and the increase in average consumable costs per admission were not statistically significant （ P ＞0.05）. In tertiary medical institutions， the average length of stay and all categories of costs （except average consumable costs per admission） exhibited significant long-term upward trends after the reform （ P ＜0.05）； conversely， in secondary and lower-level medical institutions， the average length of stay， average total cost， average drug cost， average medical service cost， and average examination cost per admission showed significant long-term downward trends （ P ＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS The DRG payment reform has achieved an overall effect of reducing the length of stay and controlling costs in COPD patients from Kashgar region. However， the effects vary across different levels of medical institutions： secondary and lower-level institutions show a long-term downward trend in length of stay and costs， whereas tertiary institutions exhibit a long-term upward trend. Furthermore， patients’ out-of-pocket financial burden does not show significant improvement.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of potentially inappropriate medication （PIM） among the elderly in nursing homes in Urumqi based on three PIM screening tools， and to compare the applicability of different tools. METHODS A cross-sectional study design was adopted. Elderly individuals from six nursing homes in Urumqi were selected as the research subjects from May 2021 to September 2023. Demographic characteristics， disease burden and medication records of the elderly were collected. PIM screening was performed using the Chinese PIM criteria （2024 edition）， the American Geriatrics Society （AGS） Beers criteria （2023 edition）， and the Screening Tool of Older Person’S Prescriptions（STOPP）/Screening Tool to Alert to Right Treatment（START） （2023 edition）. Fleiss’s Kappa test was used to assess the consistency among the three screening tools， and multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of PIM. RESULTS The prevalence of PIM screened by the Chinese PIM criteria was 47.4% （323/682）， by the AGS Beers criteria was 43.4% （296/682）， and by the STOPP criteria was 50.9% （347/682）. The consistency among the three screening tools was low （Fleiss’s Kappa＝0.12， P ＜0.001）. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that all three screening tools indicated that polypharmacy， aspirin use and psychotropic drug use were independent risk factors for PIM among elderly in nursing houses （all OR＞1， P ＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS The prevalence of PIM among the elderly in nursing homes in Urumqi is relatively high. Polypharmacy， aspirin use and psychotropic drug use are common independent risk factors for PIM. There are differences in screening results among the three tools with low consistency. The Chinese PIM criteria can serve as a first-line tool for PIM screening in nursing homes.

AIM: To investigate the effect and potential mechanism of liraglutide(LIR)combined with neural stem cells(NSCs)in alleviating diabetic retinopathy(DR)in rats.METHODS:A DR rat model was established using a high-fat diet combined with a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ). Rats in the control group were fed a normal diet and received an intraperitoneal injection of citric acid-sodium citrate buffer. After modeling, the rats were divided into the control group, DR group, DR+LIR group, DR+BMSCs group, DR+NSCs group, DR+BMSCs+LIR group, and DR+NSCs+LIR group. According to the grouping instructions, rats were given intraperitoneal injection of LIR at 200 μg/(kg·d)and intravitreal injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs), or NSCs, or the combined therapy accordingly for 8 wk. Fasting blood glucose(FBG)and serum insulin levels, as well as retinal oxidative stress indexes and serum inflammatory indexes, were detected in each group. Retinopathy was evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining, retinal cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL staining, SIRT1 expression in retinal tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry, and BDNF expression in retinal tissues was detected by immunofluorescence. The transcriptional levels of cZNF532, miR-29a-3p, SIRT1, TGF-β1, NRF2, Keap1, and BDNF in retinal tissues were detected by qRT-PCR, and the protein expression levels of SIRT1, TGF-β1, SMAD2/3, p-SMAD2/3, NRF2, Keap1, p65, and p-p65 in retinal tissues were detected by Western blot. RESULTS:Compared with the other groups of rats, the retinal morphology of rats in the DR+NSCs+LIR group was significantly improved, the levels of FBG, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and MDA were decreased(all P<0.05), the serum insulin level and the levels of SOD, CAT, and GSH-Px were increased(all P<0.05), the TUNEL-positive rate of retinal cells was reduced(all P<0.05). The expression levels of cZNF532, SIRT1, NRF2, and BDNF in retinal tissue were up-regulated(all P<0.05), whereas the expression levels of miR-29a-3p, TGF-β1, p-SMAD2/3, Keap1, and p-p65 were down-regulated(all P<0.05). CONCLUSION:LIR combined with NSCs alleviates DR by regulating the cZNF532-miR-29a-3p-SIRT1 network and its downstream TGF-β/SMAD, NF-κB, and Keap1/NRF2 signaling pathways.

To summarize Professor GAO Shuzhong's clinical experience in treating idiopathic tinnitus with a combination of acupuncture and Chinese meteria medica. It is believed that idiopathic tinnitus is mostly caused by weak lungs and spleen， kidney essence deficiency， liver constraint transforming into fire， and binding constraint of heart qi. Treatment advocates the combination of acupuncture and Chinese meteria medica in clinical practice. Acupuncture treatment mainly focus on the method of opening the orifices by syndrome identification in combination with Ermen （TE 21）， Tinggong （SI 19）， Tinghui （GB 2）， Shenmai （BL 62） to regulate qi and blood， and supporting with Baihui （GV 20）， Yintang （EX-HN 3）， Taichong （LR 3）， and Yanglingquan （GB 34） to soothe the liver， resolve constraint， and calm the mind. Oral administration of Chinese medicinal prescription usually includes modified Yiqi Congming Decoction （益气聪明汤） and Tongqi Powder （通气散）， and the external administration of Chinese medicinal prescription can apply self-prescribed Wenqing Powder （温清散） to navel moxibustion.

Objective: To investigate the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes and syndrome elements in lymphoma, as well as the correlation between TCM syndromes and Western clinical indicators, in order to analyze associations between TCM syndromes and these indicators. Methods: From January 2023 to May 2024, 216 patients with lymphoma who met the inclusion criteria in the Department of Hematology, Third People′s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled. Four diagnostic methods were applied to perform TCM syndrome differentiation and extract syndrome elements. The correlations between various syndromes and blood test indicators of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), β2-microglobulin (β2-MG), immunoglobulin G (IgG), immunoglobulin M (IgM), immunoglobulin A (IgA), white blood cell (WBC), hemoglobin (Hb), platelet count (PLT), neutrophil (NEUT), immunohistochemical markers of B-cell lymphoma-6 (BCL6), B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL2), proto-oncogene MYC, and Ki67 protein expression, Ann Arbor staging, international prognostic index (IPI) score, bone marrow infiltration, concurrent infections during chemotherapy, and post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression rate were analyzed. Results: Five TCM syndromes, ranked by frequency, were syndromes of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation(41.67%), qi depression with phlegm obstruction(30.56%), cold-phlegm congelation and stagnation(12.96%), phlegm-blood stasis toxin(12.04%), and lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi(2.77%). Yin deficiency(50.93%) and phlegm(45.37%) were the more prevalent syndrome elements. The TCM syndromes were correlated with β2-MG, PLT, MYC, BCL2/MYC, Ki67 protein expression, and bone marrow infiltration (P<0.05). No statistically significant differences were observed in Ann Arbor staging or IPI score across the syndromes. Compared to the syndrome of cold-phlegm congelation and stagnation, the syndrome of qi depression with phlegm obstruction exhibited higher levels of NEUT, MYC, BCL2/MYC, and Ki67 protein expression, as well as a higher rate of post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression (P<0.05); the syndrome of phlegm-blood stasis toxin showed higher MYC and BCL2/MYC protein expression and a higher rate of post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression rate (P<0.05); the syndrome of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation demonstrated higher MYC and BCL2/MYC protein expression and bone marrow infiltration rates, whereas PLT level was lower (P<0.05); the syndrome of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi had higher MYC, BCL2/MYC, and Ki67 protein expression levels, as well as a higher rate of post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression rate (P<0.05). Compared to the syndrome of qi depression with phlegm obstruction, the syndrome of phlegm-blood stasis toxin exhibited lower Ki67 protein expression (P<0.05); the syndrome of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation had higher β2-MG level, bone marrow infiltration rate, and rate of concurrent infections during chemotherapy, whereas PLT and NEUT levels and the rate of post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression rate were lower (P<0.05). Compared to the syndrome of phlegm-blood stasis toxin, the syndrome of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation had higher β2-MG level, whereas NEUT and the rate of post-chemotherapy bone marrow suppression were lower(P<0.05); the syndrome of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi exhibited a higher Ki67 protein expression (P<0.05). Compared to the syndrome of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation, the syndrome of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi also showed a higher Ki67 protein expression(P<0.05). Conclusion The syndrome of yin deficiency with phlegm accumulation is relatively common in lymphoma. There is a correlation between TCM syndromes and Western medicine clinical indicators. The presence of heat signs in the syndromes may indicate active disease and poor prognosis, while the presence of strong pathogenic factors and weak vital qi in the syndromes may indicate a severer chemotherapy-related bone marrow suppression.

Objective To investigate the epidemiology of elderly respiratory tract infection (RTI) cases in a hospital in Xuzhou region from 2020 to 2022. Methods The cases of RTI patients in a hospital were screened from May 2020 to December 2022, and 548 cases that met the criteria were included in the study. Patient case data were analyzed for symptoms, pathogen distribution, and differences in patient distribution under different screening conditions (age, disease, and season). Results More than 90.00% of the included RTI patients presented with symptoms of cough, sputum, wet rales and pleural effusion was less common. The top three comorbidities were cardiovascular disease (153 patients, 27.92%), cerebrovascular disease (133 patients, 24.27%), and gastrointestinal disease (105 patients, 19.16%).All 548 elderly patients tested positive for respiratory pathogens (100.00%). There were 540 cases of single pathogen infection (98.54%) and 8 cases of mixed infection (1.46%). The top five single pathogen infections were Pseudomonas aeruginosa (92 cases, 16.76%), Escherichia coli (78 cases, 14.21%), drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (69 cases, 12.57%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (65 cases, 11.84%), and Mycoplasma pneumoniae (46 cases, 8.38%). The highest detection rate of respiratory pathogens was found in patients >90 years old, whose main pathogens were Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The next highest rates of pathogen detection were found in patients aged 86-91 and 81-85 years, unlike patients >90 years, who had a higher rate of Escherichia coli detection. Unlike other age groups, patients <75 years old had a higher percentage of influenza B virus detection. The highest incidence of pneumonia was found in 45.62% (250 cases). Escherichia coli had the highest detection rate in acute bronchitis/episodes and pneumonia, respiratory syncytial virus had the highest detection rate in wheezing bronchitis, Klebsiella pneumoniae had the highest detection rate in bronchopneumonia, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa had the highest detection rate in fever. The highest detection rate of pathogens was found in fall (36.50%), followed by spring (27.01%). The distribution of pathogen infections in all seasons was matched with the results of pathogenicity testing. Streptococcus oxysporus had the highest number of infections in the fall (χ²=20.33, P<0.001). Conclusion Elderly respiratory tract infections in this region are most common in patients over 90 years old, with the highest incidence of pneumonia and high incidence in fall, and the pathogens are mainly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Attention to distinguish the above characteristics can provide some support for early diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infections in the elderly in this region.

Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics of lung cancer in Quanshan District of Xuzhou cityand analyze the influencing factors, so as to provide theoretical guidance for the prevention and control of lung cancer in Quanshan District of Xuzhou City. Methods A total of 302 patients with lung cancer diagnosed in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University were selected as case group from January 2019 to December 2023, and 300 healthy persons were selected as control group, a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the general and clinical information of the patients, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors.Results There were a statistically difference in two groups for the smoking index （χ²=40.058，P<0.001)，Chemical occupational environment（χ²=28.153 , P<0.001), weekly exercise mode（χ²=11.021，P=0.004), emphysema score（χ²=142.812，P<0.001). In addition, the CA125 in the case group was (87.11 ± 13.09) U/ml, while the control group was (16.32 ± 5.61) U/ml, with a statistically difference (t=34.581, P<0.001). The logistic regression results showed that smoking index≥20 cigarettes per day (OR=3.448, P=0.021), chemical occupational environment (OR=4.091, P<0.001), emphysema score (OR=1.302, P<0.001) or severe (OR=1.461, P<0.001), and CA125 detection value ≥ 75U/ml (OR>1.6, P<0.001) were independent risk factors for lung cancer, while moderate weekly exercise (OR=0.821, P<0.001) was a protective factor for lung cancer. Conclusion Smoking, high CA125 index, chemical occupational environment, and long-term emphysema are risk factors for the occurrence of lung malignant tumors in Quanshan District of Xuzhou City, screening regularly of CA125 in people who have smoking, emphysema, and being chemical occupational environment should be strengthened, and appropriate health education in proper exerciseshould be provided to prevent and reduce the incidence of lung malignant tumors.

Virus-related lymphoma exhibits a dual nature as both a hematologic malignancy and a viral infectious disease， making it more resistant to treatment and associated with poorer prognosis. This paper analyzes the understanding and therapeutic advantages of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） in virus-related lymphoma. It proposes a TCM-based approach centered around syndrome differentiation， using standardized measurements of the overall TCM condition， multi-omics research of hematologic tumors， and artificial intelligence technologies to identify the "pre-condition" of virus-related lymphoma. A risk warning model will be established to early identify high-risk populations with viral infections that may develop into malignant lymphoma， thereby establishing a risk warning system for virus-related lymphoma. At the same time， a TCM health management approach will be applied to manage and regulate virus-related lymphoma， interrupting its progression and forming a human-centered， comprehensive， continuous health service model. Based on this， a standardized， integrated clinical prevention and treatment decision-making model for virus-related lymphoma， recognized by both Chinese and western medicine， will be established to provide TCM solutions for primary prevention of major malignant tumors.

BackgroundNon-suicidal self-injury （NSSI） behaviors are prevalent among adolescents， significantly affecting their physical and mental well-being. Understanding the risk factors associated with adolescent NSSI is crucial for prevention. Previous studies have identified mobile phone dependence as a risk factor for NSSI in adolescents. However， as a key form of mobile phone dependence， the evidence regarding the impact of mobile phone social media dependence on adolescent NSSI behavior remains insufficient. ObjectiveTo explore the impact of mobile phone social media dependence and its associated factors on adolescent NSSI behavior， so as to provide references for intervention strategies targeting NSSI in adolescents. MethodsA total of 100 adolescents diagnosed with NSSI according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders， fifth edition （DSM-5）， and receiving treatment at Tongde Hospital of Zhejiang Province from January 2022 to December 2023 were included in the study group. Concurrently， 100 age- and sex-matched students from Hangzhou were recruited as the control group. Assessments were conducted using Ottawa Self-injury Inventory（OSI） Function Subscale and Addiction Features Subscale， Adolescents Self-Harm Scale（ASHS）， and Mobile Phone Social Media Dependence Questionnaire. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the factors influencing NSSI behaviors. ResultsThe research group had a total of 99 patients （99.00%） who completed the study， while the control group consisted of 97 （97.00%） adolescents who finished this research.The study group had statistically significantly higher total scores on the Mobile Phone Social Media Dependence Questionnaire， as well as higher scores on the conflict and withdrawal dimensions， compared with control group（t=-3.061， -2.874， -2.368， P<0.05 or 0.01）. The study group also scored significantly higher on the OSI Function Subscale for internal emotion regulation， social influence， external emotion regulation， and sensation-seeking factors， as well as on the OSI Addiction Features Subscale scores， compared to the control group（t=-22.249， -8.854， -17.968， -10.591， -20.157， P<0.01）. OSI Function Subscale scores were positively correlated with Mobile Phone Social Media Dependence Questionnaire scores （r=0.321， P<0.01）， and OSI Addiction Features Subscale scores were positively correlated with Mobile Phone Social Media Dependence Questionnaire scores （r=0.282， P<0.01）. ASHS scores were positively correlated with Mobile Phone Social Media Dependence Questionnaire scores （r=0.145， P<0.05）. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that compulsivity （β=0.416， P<0.01） and conflict （β=0.256， P<0.05） were significant predictors for adolescent NSSI behaviors. ConclusionAdolescent NSSI behaviors are associated with mobile phone social media dependence. The compulsivity and conflict dimension of mobile phone social media dependence are influencing factors for adolescent NSSI behaviors.
