Breast cancer prevention and treatment have become major issues that urgently need to be addressed in the field of global public health. As a key pathological transitional stage in the progression of breast cancer, preneoplastic breast cancer (PBC) carries a significant risk of clinical transformation. Effective intervention in the progression of PBC is of great clinical significance in preventing the occurrence of breast cancer. Pathological studies have shown that abnormal angiogenesis is a key mechanism driving the transformation of PBC into breast cancer. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), as a core regulatory molecule that promotes angiogenesis, plays a pivotal role in this process. The malignant transformation of PBC is closely associated with the abnormal activation of the VEGF-mediated pro-angiogenic network. Although modern medicine has achieved certain therapeutic effects through surgery and endocrine therapy, clinical limitations such as invasiveness, drug resistance, and adverse reactions still exist. Recent studies have demonstrated that the VEGF signaling system mediates the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) signaling pathway and the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. In addition, the hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α)/VEGF signaling pathway and the delta-like ligand 4 (DLL4)/Notch receptor 1 (Notch1) signaling pathway, together with other pathways, form a complex regulatory network that plays a central role in angiogenesis during PBC. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), characterized by multi-component synergy, multi-pathway regulation, and high safety, demonstrates significant advantages in inhibiting pathological angiogenesis and blocking PBC progression by targeting the VEGF signaling pathway. From the perspective of VEGF pathway regulation, this paper systematically reviews the latest research progress on TCM in inhibiting angiogenesis and intervening in PBC, and discusses its mechanisms and application value in the early prevention and treatment of PBC, with the aim of providing references for optimizing clinical intervention strategies for PBC.

Background:
We evaluated severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)-specific humoral and cellular responses for up to 6 months after the 3rd dose of ancestral coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in people living with HIV (PLWH) and healthy controls (HCs) who were not infected with COVID-19.
Methods:
Anti-spike receptor-binding domain IgG (anti-RBD IgG) concentrations using chemiluminescence immunoassay and neutralizing antibodies using focus reduction neutralization test (FRNT) were assessed at 1 week after each dose of vaccination, and 3 and 6 months after the 3rd dose in 62 PLWH and 25 HCs. T-cell responses using intracellular cytokine stain were evaluated at 1 week before, and 1 week and 6 months after the 3rd dose.
Results:
At 1 week after the 3rd dose, adequate anti-RBD IgG (> 300 binding antibody unit /mL) was elicited in all PLWH except for one patient with 36 CD4 T-cell count/mm3 . The geometric mean titers of 50% FRNT against wild type (WT) and omicron BA.5 strains of SARS-CoV-2 in PLWH with CD4 T-cell count ≥ 500 cells/mm3(high CD4 recovery, HCDR) were comparable to HC, but they were significantly decreased in PLWH with CD4 T-cell count < 500/mm3 (low CD4 recovery, LCDR). After adjusting for age, gender, viral suppression, and number of preexisting comorbidities, CD4 T-cell counts < 500/mm3 significantly predicted a poor magnitude of neutralizing antibodies against WT, omicron BA.5, and XBB 1.5 strains among PLWH. Multivariable linear regression adjusting for age and gender revealed that LCDR was associated with reduced neutralizing activity (P = 0.017) and interferon-γ-producing T-cell responses (P = 0.049 for CD T-cell; P = 0.014 for CD8 T-cell) against WT, and strongly associated with more decreased cross-neutralization against omicron BA.5 strains (P < 0.001).
Conclusion
HCDR demonstrated robust humoral and cell-mediated immune responses after a booster dose of ancestral SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, whereas LCDR showed diminished immune responses against WT virus and more impaired cross-neutralization against omicron BA.5 strain.

Objective:To investigate the effect of psychological intervention based on the extension and expansion of positive psychology(PERM A)model on sexual psychological resilience(PR)and erectile function in patients with psychogenic erectile dys-function(pED).Methods:This prospective,single-blind,randomized controlled trial included 122 cases of pED diagnosed in our hospital from September 2023 to August 2024,which were equally divided into a trial and a control group, the former treated by PERMA-based psychological intervention in addition to drug therapy, while the latter by drug therapy only. After 2,4 and 8 weeks of treatment,we obtained the scores of the patients on IIEF-5,Connor-DavidsonResilience Scale(CD-RISC),Self-Esteem and Sexual Relationship Satisfaction Scale(SESRS)and the quality of sexual life, and compared them between the two groups before and after in-tervention.Results:At 2,4 and 8 weeks after treatment, the IIEF-5 scores were significantly lower in the trial than in the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the baseline scores on any dimensions of CD-RISC between the two groups, while after 8 weeks of treatment, the scores on personal abilities, stress resistance, control, mental influence and total CD-RISC scores were all remarkably higher in the trial group than in the control(P<0.05).No statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups before treatment either in the SESRS scores,or in the average number of effective erections, average duration of each erection and average erection hardness. After 8 weeks of treatment, the patients in the trial group, compared with the controls, showed marked increases in self-esteem,sexual relationship satisfaction and total SESRS scores,as well as in the average number of effective erections, average duration of each erection and average erection hardness(P<0.05).Conclusion:For the treatment of pED,PERMA-based psychological intervention in addition to active medication contributes to elevating the psychological resilience and improving the erectile function of the patients.
