Objective:To explore relevant factors to accurately diagnose BPPV in vertigo children. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on the proportion of BPPV in children（<18 years） with vertigo who visited the Hearing and Vertigo Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from September 2017 to August 2023. The clinical characteristics of BPPV children, including general demographics, medical history, first visit department, comorbidities, canal involvement, response to treatment, and incidence of recurrence, were analyzed. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25.0 software. Results:BPPV was diagnosed in 22.8% of patients seen for vertigo during the study period. There are differences in the proportion of BPPV diagnosis among children with dizziness in different age groups（P<0.05）, and the diagnosis of BPPV in the 7-12-year-old group has a longer disease course than in the 13-17-year-old group（P<0.05）. 72.3%（47/65） of patients or their families were able to provide a typical history of positional vertigo. 49.2%（32/65） of BPPV patients had comorbidities, and there were differences in the proportion of comorbidities among different age groups of BPPV patients（P<0.05）. With the progress of study, the proportion of BPPV in children with vertigo has shown an upward trend, and the proportion of children with otolaryngology as the first diagnosis department has also increased（P<0.05）. The proportion of horizontal semicircular canals in children with BPPV has increased. All BPPV patients underwent canalith repositioning maneuvers, with good treatment outcomes and a recurrence rate of 12.3%（8/65）. The recurrence rate in the group of BPPV patients with comorbidities was 21.9%, which was higher than that in the group without comorbidities（P<0.05）. Conclusion:Childhood BPPV has clinical characteristics such as unclear medical history, high proportion of comorbidities, easy recurrence in BPPV children with comorbidities and high proportion of horizontal semicircular canal involvement. For children diagnosed with other vertigo diseases, do not ignore the BPPV diagnostic test. It is recommended to perform routine position tests on children with vertigo if conditions permit to reduce missed diagnosis of BPPV in children.

Objective: To explore the impact of family function intervention on mental health status of middle school students, so as to provide the reference for promoting adolescent mental health. Methods: From October 2023 to January 2024, 44 families from grade 2 of one junior high school were recruited. They were randomly divided into an intervention group ( n =21) and a control group ( n =23) using a simple random sampling method. Both groups of families participated in various daily school activities and learning, but the intervention group of families also participated in 10 online family function intervention courses. Family Assessment Device (FAD) and the Middle School Student Mental Health Scale (MSSMHS) were used as evaluation tools. Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between FAD total scores of middle school students and the total mean scores of MSSMHS, and repeated measures ANOVA was used to analyze FAD scores changes in various dimensions before and after intervention. Results: The total score of FAD in middle school students was positively correlated with the total average score of MSSMHS ( r= 0.44, P <0.01). Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the FAD scores (intervention group: 143.19 ±16.05, control group:144.87±22.40) and MSSMHS total average scores (intervention group: 1.69±0.46, control group: 1.77 ±0.59) between the two groups ( t=0.28, 0.53, P >0.05). After intervention, the main effect of time, group, and time group interaction of the interventions on the FAD total scores between the intervention group and the control group were statistically significant ( F=11.87, 7.26, 11.04, P <0.05). Further simple effects analysis revealed that the post test FAD total score of the intervention group (121.71±16.01) decreased by 21.48 points compared to the pre test and was lower than the post test total score of the control group (144.47±17.71), with statistically significant differences ( t=4.68, 4.11, P <0.05). The main effect of the group on the total mean MSSMHS score between the intervention and control groups was statistically significant ( F=8.45, P <0.05), while the main effect of time was not statistically significant ( F=1.68, P >0.05). Further comparative analysis revealed that the post test total mean score of MSSMHS in the intervention group (1.34±0.23) was lower than that in the control group (1.85±0.52) ( t=3.48, P <0.01). Conclusion Family function intervention can improve the mental health status of middle school students, and relevant measures should be actively taken to promote adolescent mental health.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Claudin-6(CLDN6),tripartite motif-containing protein 59(TRIM59)and chemokine-like factor-like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing member 6(CMTM6)in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)tissue.Methods A total of 135 NPC patients were selected as the study objects,and cancer tissue(observation group)and para-cancer tissue(control group)of all patients were collected.All patients were followed up for 3 years.According to the follow-up results,93 surviving patients were included in the survival group and 42 dead patients were included in the death group.The mRNA expressions of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 were determined by fluorescence quantitative PCR.Multivariate Cox regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of death in NPC patients.Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the relationship between the expression levels of CLDN6,TRIM59,CMTM6 and the prognosis of NPC patients.Results Compared with the control group,mRNA expressions of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 were increased in the observation group(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in age,sex,body mass index,TNM stage,bone metastasis,smoking history,drinking history and hypertension history between the survival group and the death group.Compared with the survival group,the proportion of NPC family history and the mRNA expression of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 in cancer tissue were increased in the death group(P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the increased levels of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 in cancer tissue were influential factors for death of NPC patients(P＜0.05).According to the mean expression levels of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 mRNA in cancer tissue,patients were divided into the low expression group and the high expression group.The 3-year survival rate of the high expression group was significantly lower than that of the low expression group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The mRNA expressions of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 in NPC tissue are significantly increased,which is a risk factor for death in NPC patients,and the mRNA expressions of CLDN6,TRIM59 and CMTM6 are correlated with the prognosis of patients.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between growth mindset and mental health in middle school students,and to explore the intervention effects of growth mindset intervention in different grades and at dif-ferent times after intervention.Methods:Totally 612 middle school students from a certain high school in Xi'an were selected to evaluate their growth mindset and mental health status using the Mental Health Diagnostic Test(MHT)and Implicit Personality Theory Questionnaire(IPT-Q).They were divided into a growth mindset interven-tion group(n=306)and a conventional mental health class group(n=306)using a simple random sampling meth-od.The growth mindset intervention group received an additional 45 minutes of growth mindset class on top of the conventional mental health class.Three factor analysis of variance was used to compare the MHT scores of partici-pants in different grades,groups,and time conditions.Results:There was a negative correlation between IPT-Q scores and MHT scores in middle school students(r=-0.10,P＜0.05).At 4 weeks after intervention,the MHT scores were lower in the growth mindset intervention group than in the conventional mental health class group[(30.8±5.0)vs.(35.9±16.6),P＜0.001].At 4 months after intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in MHT scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:It suggests that growth mindset inter-vention could improve the mental health status of middle school students in the short term.

Objective To explore an improving primary culture method of human pituitary adenoma cells.Methods Thirty-six pituitary adenoma specimens,collected from excision and conformed by pathology in our hospital from November 2014 to June 2015,were used.Based on the former experience from papers and ourselves,our primary culture methods of several different kinds of human pituitary adenomas were improved.Purification and passage culture of cells were performed in the following experiments.CCK-8 assay was used to detect the multiplication capacity of pituitary adenoma cells;immunofluorescent staining and Western blotting were used to observe the cytokeratin and vimentin protein expressions.Results By using the improve culture methods,tumor cells proliferated in suspension with good status and had the tendency of aggregation in culture medium.The proliferation test showed that the tumor cells enjoyed proliferation ability in vitro;tumor cells could pass over five generations.The growth curve of pituitary adenoma cells showed S pattern.Immunofluorescent staining and Western blotting indicated negative cytokeratin and vimentin protein expressions,showing that the cells were from epithelium.Conclusion Each type of pituitary adenoma cells has characteristics of suspended growth and tendency of gathering by using this improved method.

Objective To explore the values of vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) in the diagnosis of vestibular nerve impairment in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.Methods Forty-two cases (84 ears)of diabetes mellitus patients and 42 cases (84 ears)normal subjects as the control group were enrolled from 2014 to 2015.Both the patients and normal subjects underwent conventional air-conducted ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potential (oVEMP) and cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potential (cVEMP) in bilateral ears.The results were compared between the patients and normal subjects.A commercially available software package, SPSS19.0, was used for statistical analysis.Results In 84 ears of the normal subjects,oVEMP was present in 70 ears, the educible rate was 83.3％ (70/84).cVEMP was present in 74 ears, and the educible rate was 88.1％ (74/84).In 84 ears of the diabetes mellitus patients, oVEMP was present in 49 ears, with the educible rate of 58.3％ (49/84).cVEMP was present in 52 ears, with the educible rate of 61.9％ (52/84).The educible rate in the control group was significantly higher than the diabeticgroup(oVEMP: x2=12.71, P＜0.05;cVEMP: x2=15.37, P＜0.05).In the diabetic group, the mean values of both oVEMP and cVEMP P1, N1 latencies were significantly longer when compared to the control group (P ＜ 0.05).No significantly statistical difference was found in oVEMP and cVEMP parameters (threshold, latency interval and amplitude) between groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Vestibular nerve was impaired in diabetes mellitus patients in some degree.VEMP examinations could be useful in the diagnosis of vestibular nerve impairment in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.

Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture on gastrocnemius fatigue. Methods 20 healthy volunteers were selected. Accordingto the rating of perceived exercise (RPE) table, when exercise-induced fatigue occurred, the volunteers were needled in PointChengjin for 15 minutes (acupuncture group). 4 weeks later, they just rest after exercise-induced fatigue occurred for the second time for 15minutes (non-acupuncture group). The data of surface electromyographic signal (sEMG) and heart rate were collected. Results The value oflow frequency/high frequency (LF/HF) of sEMG of both groups was higher after exercise. The acupuncture group decreased after acupuncture(P<0.05), the non-acupuncture group increased after rest (P<0.05). The heart rate of both groups increased significantly after exercise(P<0.01), and decreased after acupuncture and rest (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the decrement between 2 groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture can relieve gastrocnemius fatigue.

Objective To investigate insula cortex activation evoked by stimulating different acupoints of lower extremity.Methods Twenty healthy male right-handed subjects were recruited to receive functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)examination with a whole-body 3T Siemens Trio system for whole-brain imaging.Participants were at rest during scanning and were instructed to relax with their eyes closed,without falling asleep.A blockdesigned method was applied for acupoint stimulation.The examined acupoints on the right lower extremity were stimulated,respectively,resulting in 4 experimental conditions.Stimulation was performed by brushing the subject's skin over each acupoint with a sponge at a frequency of approximately 2 Hz.Images were analyzed using SPM5 software package.Group analysis was performed with the mixed-effects model.Small volume correction was used to investigate insula cortex activation under each condition at a threshold of P ＜ O.01,with a 6-mm radius centered on the local maxima of activation in insula cortex.The scope of insula cortex was determined with SPM anatomy toolbox.Results All the examined acupoints induced activation in contralateral insula cortex.Activation clusters evoked by different acupoints presented various types of locations and shapes,and all of them located in the posterior part of insula cortex.Activation in the ipsilateral insula cortex was not found for all examined acupoints.Conclusions Stimulating lower extremity acupoints can activate posterior insula cortex.This effect may promote the recovery of dysphagia via several mechanisms including facilitating the initiation of swallowing,improving oral and pharyngeal sensation,and reducing taste disturbance.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effect of perforated bovine amnion combined with recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bFGF) on degree Ⅱ burn wounds.METHODS: A total of 43 patients with small and medium-size thermal burn were collected, and the area of testing wound was 1% -2%. The wounds with the same nature were divided into three groups: perforated bovine amnion (treatment group), bovine amnion (control 1 group), and vaseline gauze dressing (control 2 group). All the three groups combined with rb-bFGF. RESULTS: Compared with control 1 group (P < 0.01) and control 2 group (P < 0.05), the treatment group could obviously decrease the healing time of deep degree Ⅱ burn wounds. For superficial degree Ⅱ burn wounds, compared with the control 2 group, the treatment group could also decrease the healing time; however, there was no significant difference between treatment group and control 1 group (P > 0.05). Dressing was not changed frequently, and the pain was relieved. Rash or other adverse effects were not detected in the three groups.CONCLUSION: The combination of perforated bovine amnion and rb-bFGF can obviously promote the healing of burn wounds.
