Access to the clinical application of medical technology is one of the core institutional contents of medical quality management, involving medical quality assurance, the achievement of patient safety goals, and medical service satisfaction. Medical technology is only permitted for clinical use after its safety and effectiveness have been verified through clinical research, as well as evaluated and reviewed by the medical technology clinical application management committee and ethics committee of this medical and health institution. Based on the relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, combined with the experience of ethical review in the clinical application of medical technology from some medical and health institutions, a thematic discussion was held to formulate ethical review guidelines for the clinical application of medical technology for references. These guidelines elaborated on the management system for access to the clinical application of medical technology in medical and health institutions, the system of ethics committees and the requirements of review norms, technical plans and their review points, key points for the implementation of informed consent, technical teams and conditions, and other aspects.

Objective To identify candidate compounds that activate thermogenesis during cold exposure by integrating the Library of Integrated Network-Based Cellular Signatures(LINCS)with RNA expression profiles specific to cold-induced thermogenesis. Methods Gene expression profiles of interscapular brown adipose tissue(BAT)and inguinal white adipose tissue(iWAT)were generated from 8-week-old C57BL/6J mice which were housed at 5 ℃ or room temperature(23 ℃)for 7 days. The gene expression signatures of the cold-induced BAT and iWAT were compared to the LINCS dataset to predict potential candidates for testing in a cold challenge model that was intended to assess thermogenesis activation. The pharmacological potential of the identified compounds was evaluated in a cold-exposed mouse model. The core body temperature and infrared thermal imaging were collected to monitor physiological responses during cold exposure.Additionally, hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining was used to assess morphological changes of fat cells of BAT,iWAT,and epididymal white adipose tissue(eWAT).Results The transcriptomic signatures related to cold-induced thermogenesis were obtained and the top 20 candidate compounds were identified by comparison with the LINCS dataset.Mice treated with withaferin A(WA)during the cold challenge exhibited elevated rectal temperatures and smaller adipocyte sizes compared to controls. Conclusion Our drug repurposing strategy, which connects transcriptional profiles with LINCS data, identifies potential compounds.WA enhances thermogenesis and metabolic activity in adipose tissue, which helps maintain body temperature, and improves cold tolerance during exposure to low temperatures.

OBJECTIVE:
To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint thread-embedding therapy of regulating governor vessel, dispersing lung, and suppressing reflux for gastroesophageal reflux cough (GERC).
METHODS:
A total of 120 GERC patients were randomly assigned to an observation group (60 cases, 1 case dropped out) and a control group (60 cases, 1 case was eliminated). The observation group received acupoint thread-embedding treatment at positive response points of governor vessel. If no such points were detected, the following acupoints were used: Dazhui (GV14), Fenghu (Extra), Shendao (GV11), Lingtai (GV10), and Zhiyang (GV9). Treatment was administered once every two weeks. The control group received oral rabeprazole enteric capsules at 20 mg twice daily. All the treatment was given for 6 weeks. Clinical outcomes were assessed using cough symptom score, reflux disease questionnaire (RDQ) score, and Leicester cough questionnaire (LCQ) score before and after treatment in the two groups. Clinical efficacy was also compared between the two groups.
RESULTS:
After treatment, both groups showed decreased cough symptom scores and the each item scores and total scores of RDQ (P<0.001), and increased LCQ scores (P<0.001) compare with those before treatment. The observation group exhibited lower cough symptom score and chest pain, reflux and total score of RDQ, and higher LCQ score compared to those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate in the observation group was 94.9% (56/59), which was higher than 84.7% (50/59) in the control group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
Acupoint thread-embedding therapy of regulating governor vessel, dispersing lung, and suppressing reflux could effectively alleviate cough and reflux symptoms in patients with GERC and improve their quality of life.

When bacteria inhabit an unfavorable environment, they adapt by forming small colony variants (SCVs) under selective pressure, resulting in a slow-growing subpopulation with distinct phenotypic and pathogenic characteristics. Phenotypically, SCVs exhibit a slow growth rate, atypical colony morphology, and unusual biochemical traits. Clinically, SCVs demonstrate reduced susceptibility to antibiotics and can persistently proliferate within the host environment as potential pathogens, posing a significant challenge for the treatment of associated infections. This paper analyzes the phenotypic, genetic, and clinical characteristics of SCVs to provide a reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of SCV infections.

BACKGROUND:Meningeal lymphatic vessels can drain cerebral spinal fluid and amyloid β-protein,promoting T lymphocyte to transport and home to deep cervical lymph nodes.A simple, quick and definite method of dural separation and accurate localization of deep cervical lymph nodes can provide strong support for the study of neurodegenerative diseases.OBJECTIVE:To establish a convenient and practical method for exfoliating dural and deep cervical lymph nodes.METHODS:ICR mice,3 months old, were taken, anesthetized and injected with Evans blue and tracer in the occipital pool for localizing deep cervical lymph nodes.A midline incision of about 3 cm in length was made about 5 mm above the clavicle, the superficial fat and fascia were bluntly separated, and the lateral sternocleidomastoid muscle was pulled to expose the deep cervical lymph nodes, which were removed under a stereomicroscope and frozen at-80℃.Subsequently,the mouse head was cut and the skin and muscles of the head were separated to expose the entire skull structure. The skull and brain tissue were separated from the foramen magnum along the lower parietal bone with scissors, and the complete skull top was obtained. The skull was sequentially fixed in 40 g/L paraformaldehyde solution for 24 hours,120 g/L paraformaldehyde for 24 hours, and 120 g/L paraformaldehyde for 10,20,30,and 40 minutes, and the dural structure was stripped. The drainage capacity of meningeal lymphatic vessels and deep cervical lymphatic vessels was verified by tracer, and the meningeal lymphatic vessels were identified by the lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor 1 using the immunofluorescence method.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Obvious blue staining was observed in deep cervical lymph nodes 15 minutes after Evans blue staining.(2)The skull was sampled and fixed in 120 g/L paraformaldehyde for 24 hours, resulting in a less tight connection between the dura mater and the skull, and easier stripping of the dural structures with an intact shape. The dura mater fixed at 120 g/L concentration was more resilient and remained more intact during peeling compared with the conventional 40 g/L concentration;120 g/L paraformaldehyde fixed meninges for a short time, and 30-40 minutes was preferred.(3)The frozen section of deep cervical lymph nodes showed the presence of the tracer, complete meningeal lymphatic vessels were visible in the dura mater, and the tracer was observed at the tail of lymphatic vessels.Immunofluorescence staining for endothelial hyaluronan receptor 1 was positive in the deep cervical lymph nodes and dural lymphatics. In summary, the best peeling concentration and time is 120 g/L paraformaldehyde fixed for 24 hours. At this concentration, the dura mater has a stretched morphology,a better toughness, and is more intact after peeling, which is conducive to later use.Verified by Evans blue, tracers and immunofluorescence, deep cervical lymph nodes are located accurately, which can be used as a basis for the study of various neurodegenerative diseases.

This paper discussed the current education status on medical ethics and styles and the assessment condition in the examination of doctors' qualification, as well as the existing problems and potential solutions by reviewing domestic and foreign literature and summarizing the practice experience. Traditionally, medical ethics and styles have always been integrated into clinical medical practice in China. However, under the modern medical education system, it is challenged to integrate traditional education on medical ethics and styles with the rules of modern medical knowledge. By summarizing the education and assessment status of medical ethics and styles in the examination of doctors' qualification, it is found that the current examination is relatively poor in the evaluation content, and the way of evaluation is not diverse, with lack of curriculum of medical humanities. The solutions suggested are enriching relevant examination content, introducing more and comprehensive evaluation method, and establishing more medical humanities-related courses.
