ObjectiveTo explore the effects of Yimei Baijiang formula （YMBJF） on colitis-associated colorectal cancer （CAC） and the nuclear factor kappaB （NF-κB） signaling pathway in mice. MethodsSixty male Balb/c mice of 4-6 weeks old were randomized into 6 groups： Normal， model， capecitabine （0.83 g·kg^-1）， and low-， medium-， and high-dose （4.63， 9.25， 18.50 g·kg^-1， respectively） YMBJF. The mouse model of CAC was established by combining azoxymethane （AOM， 10 mg·kg^-1） and dextran sulfate sodium （DSS， 2%）. At the 5^th week after the start of modeling， the capecitabine group and the YMBJF groups were respectively administrated with the corresponding doses of drugs by gavage once a day for a total of 6 weeks. The body weights and general conditions of mice were measured and observed， and the disease activity index （DAI） was scored. The tumors in the colorectal tissue were counted， and the colorectal length was measured. The histological features of the colorectal tissue in each group of mice were observed by hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining. The levels of inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-6 （IL-6）， interleukin-1β （IL-1β）， and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） in the serum were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. The expression and localization of proliferating cell nuclear antigen-67 （Ki67）， proliferating cell nuclear antigen （PCNA）， and phosphorylated nuclear transcription factor-κB p65 （p-NF-κB p65） proteins were observed by immunohistochemistry （IHC）. The apoptosis of tumor cells was observed by the TUNEL assay. The mRNA levels of IL-6，IL-1β， TNF-α， nuclear transcription factor-κB p65 （NF-κB p65）， NF-κB inhibitor alpha （IκBα）， B-cell lymphoma-2 （Bcl-2）， and Bcl-2-associated X protein （Bax） in the colorectal tissue were quantified by Real-time polymerase chain reaction（Real-time PCR）. The protein levels of NF-κB p65， phosphorylated （p）-NF-κB p65， IκBα， p-IκBα， Bcl-2， and Bax in the colorectal tissue were determined by Western blot. ResultsCompared with the model group， each YMBJF group showed decreases in DAI and tumor number （P0.01）， and the medium-dose and high-dose YMBJF groups showed increases in colorectal length （P0.05）. In addition， each YMBJF group showed alleviated colorectal mucosal pathological injury， declined levels of IL-6， IL-1β， and TNF-α in the serum （P0.05）， reduced expression of Ki67 and PCNA （P0.01）， and down-regulated expression of p-NF-κB p65 （P0.05）. The apoptosis in the medium-dose and high-dose YMBJF groups increased （P0.01）. Each YMBJF group and the capecitabine group showed down-regulated mRNA levels of IL-1β， TNF-α， IL-6， NF-κB p65， and Bcl-2 （P0.05） and up-regulated mRNA levels of IκBα and Bax （P0.05）. The mRNA level of IκBα was up-regulated， and that of Bcl-2 was down-regulated （P0.05） in the high-dose YMBJF group. The protein levels of p-IκBα and Bcl-2 were down-regulated （P0.05） in each YMBJF group. The protein levels of IκBα and Bax were up-regulated in the medium-dose and high-dose YMBJF groups （P0.01）， while those of NF-κB p65 and p-NF-κB p65 were down-regulated （P0.05）. ConclusionYMBJF can reduce the number of tumors， reduce the levels of inflammatory factors， promote tumor cell apoptosis， and inhibit tumor cell proliferation by regulating the direct effector molecules of the NF-κB signaling pathway in the mouse model of CRC.

Background: Adrenocortical hormones, particularly 11-oxygenated androgens, are pivotal in female reproductive health and fertility. Standardized detection kits and population-specific reference intervals are lacking in China, hindering related clinical applications. Methods: A HPLC-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) pipeline was developed, rigorously validated, and applied to simultaneously quantify corticosterone, cortisone, cortisol, 18-OH cortisol, androstenedione (A4), 11β-hydroxyandrostenedione (11-OH A4), dehydroepiandrosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate in serum samples from 455 reproductive-aged women (18–45 yrs) in Guangxi, China. Age-dependent concentration trends were analyzed, and reference intervals stratified by age (2.5th to 97.5th percentiles) were established. Correlations with body-composition metrics, ethnicity, and the menstrual cycle were investigated. Results: The HPLC-MS/MS method demonstrated high precision (intra- and inter-assay CVs < 15%), accuracy, and sensitivity. All eight hormones exhibited significant age-related declines (P < 0.001 for seven hormones; P = 0.001 for 11-OH A4). Notably, 11-OH A4 levels were significantly lower in the 35–45-yr (3.05 nmol/L) and 25–34-yr (3.09 nmol/L) age groups than in the 18–24-yr (3.57 nmol/L) age group, whereas no significant difference was observed between the 35–45-yr and 25–34-yr age groups. Weak negative correlations were observed between the body mass index and corticosterone and cortisone levels, whereas ethnicity and the menstrual cycle showed no significant associations with hormone levels. Conclusions We developed an HPLC-MS/MS-based method for simultaneously quantifying eight adrenocortical hormones, including 11-OH A4, and defined age-specific reference intervals for reproductive-aged Chinese women. These findings advance the clinical utility of adrenocortical hormones in diagnosing and managing reproductive disorders.

Objective To explore the safety and feasibility of 5G remote robot-assisted thoracoscopic anatomic lobectomy and segmentectomy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent 5G remote robot-assisted thoracoscopic anatomic lobectomy or segmentectomy between July and September 2024. The surgeries were performed collaboratively by Shanghai Chest Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University, and The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. Perioperative outcomes were recorded and analyzed. Results Ten patients were included, comprising 4 anatomic lobectomies and 6 segmentectomies. The median age was 61.0 (56.0, 72.0) years. The median intraoperative bi-directional network latency was 52.5 (39.0, 54.0) ms. There were no instances of network interruption, robot-related adverse events, or conversions to open thoracotomy. The median postoperative chest tube drainage volume was 500.0 (375.0, 600.0) mL, and the median hospital stay was 5.5 (4.0, 6.0) days. No complications of Clavien-Dindo grade Ⅱor higher occurred. All patients were recurrence-free and alive during the 6-month postoperative follow-up period. Conclusion 5G remote robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery demonstrates high safety and operational stability. This technology shows promising potential for clinical application and is worthy of further development and utilization.

Objective To investigate the expression of six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 4 (STEAP4) in prostate cancer (PCa), explore its correlation with the infiltration of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and CD8+T cells within the tumor-infiltrating T lymphocyte population, and to predict the potential role of STEAP4 in promoting PCa progression. Methods The clinicopathological data and tumor tissue specimens were collected from 90 PCa patients undergoing radical prostatectomy at our hospital during Jan.2018 and Dec.2024.The protein expressions of STEAP4, forkhead box transcription factor P3 (FoxP3), and CD8+T cells in tumor tissues were detected with immunohistochemistry.The correlation between STEAP4 expression and the infiltration of Tregs (FoxP3 T cells), CD8+T cells and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed.The relationship between STEAP4 expression and prognosis was evaluated with Kaplan-Meier survival curves. Results STEAP4 expression was significantly higher in PCa tissues than in adjacent benign tissues (P＜0.001).STEAP4 expression was significantly associated with serum total prostate-specific antigen (tPSA) level, seminal vesicle invasion, extraprostatic extension, International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grading, and pathological T stage (all P＜0.05).The mean infiltration density of Tregs (FoxP3 T cells) in PCa tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent benign tissues[ (11.09±5.05) cells/HPF vs. (3.92±1.59) cells/HPF, P＜0.001], while the mean infiltration density of CD8+T cells was significantly lower[ (6.07±2.90) cells/HPF vs. (27.23±6.75) cells/HPF, P＜0.001].In PCa tissues, STEAP4 expression showed a significant positive correlation with Treg (FoxP3 T cells) infiltration density (r_s=0.472, P＜0.001) and a significant negative correlation with CD8+T-cell infiltration density (r_s=-0.495, P＜0.001).Kaplan-Meier survival curves indicated that high STEAP4 expression group and low STEAP4 expression group in PCa patients was not correlated with overall survival (OS) or recurrence-free survival (P=0.562, 0.346). Conclusion STEAP4 is highly expressed in PCa tissues, and its expression is closely associated with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, particularly Tregs and CD8+T cells, suggesting that STEAP4 may cooperate with Tregs and CD8+T cells to regulate the tumor microenvironment, thereby promoting PCa progression.

Objective To assess the stability of the molluscicidal activity of the fermentation broth supernatant of Bacillus indicus F19, so as to provide insights into development of novel molluscicides derived from this isolate. Methods Healthy Oncomelania hupensis snails free from Schistosoma japonicum infections and acclimated in the laboratory for 7 days were selected. The fermentation broth supernatant of B. indicus F19 was prepared. For each treatment condition, four experimental groups and one control group were established, with 10 mL of the fermentation broth supernatant each group. O. hupensis snails were exposed to different pH values (3, 6, 9 and 12), temperatures (40, 60, 80 °C and 100 °C), and ultraviolet (UV) exposure durations (1, 2, 3 h and 4 h). Then, the supernatant was diluted with dechlorinated water to concentrations of 50%, 10%, and 5% (v/v), and 10 mL of each dilution solution was added to three separate tubes, with an equal volume of dechlorinated water as a blank control. Twenty O. hupensis snails were transferred to each tube, immersed for 48 h and 72 h, and collected for viability assessment using the shell-tapping method. The mortality of O. hupensis snails was calculated and compared among dilution groups and the blank control group to evaluate the molluscicidal activity of the fermentation broth supernatant of B. indicus F19. Results There was a significant difference in the mortality of O. hupensis snails immersed in 5% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 for 48 h at various pH levels (χ² = 11.556, P < 0.05), and the mortality reduced to 13.33% (8/60) in the experimental groups at a pH value of 12, which was significantly lower than in the blank control group [33.33% (20/60)] (χ² = 6.708, P < 0.05). There was a significant difference in the mortality of O. hupensis snails immersed in 10% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 for 72 h at various pH levels (χ² = 31.691, P < 0.001), and the mortality reduced to 71.67% (43/60) and 65.00% (39/60) in the experimental group at pH values of 9 and 12, which was significantly lower than in the blank control group [100.00% (60/60)] (χ² = 8.571 and 12.110, both P values < 0.01). The mortality of O. hupensis snails both reduced to 23.33% (14/60) following immersion in 5% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 heated in a water bath at 80 °C and 100 °C for 48 h, which was lower than that of unheated O. hupensis snails [33.33% (20/60)] and snails heated in a water bath at 40 °C [35.00% (21/60)] and 60 °C [33.33% (20/60)], and there was no significant difference in the mortality of O. hupensis snails among groups (χ² = 3.898, P > 0.05). The mortality of O. hupensis snails was 68.33% (41/60), 66.67% (40/60), 65.00% (39/60), and 68.33% (41/60) following immersion in fermentation broth supernatants heated in a water bath at 40, 60, 80 °C and 100 °C for 72 h, which was all lower than that of snails in the control group [71.70% (43/60)]; however, there was no significant difference seen in the snail mortality among groups (χ² = 0.674, P > 0.05). The mortality of O. hupensis snails was 73.33% (44/60), 71.67% (43/60), 71.67% (43/60), and 75.00% (45/60) following 48 h immersion in 10% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 irradiated by UV for 1, 2, 3 h and 4 h, 33.33% (20/60), 31.67% (19/60), 35.00% (21/60), and 33.33% (20/60) following 48 h immersion in 10% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 irradiated by UV for 1, 2, 3 h and 4 h, and 71.67% (43/60) and 33.33% (20/60) following 48 h immersion in 10% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 without UV irradiation, and no significant differences were found among groups (χ² = 0.229 and 0.150, both P values > 0.05). In addition, the mortality of O. hupensis snails was 76.67% (46/60), 71.67% (43/60), 70.00% (42/60), and 76.67% (46/60) following 72 h immersion in 5% fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 irradiated by UV for 1, 2, 3 h and 4 h, and 71.67% (43/60) in the control group, and there was no significant difference in the snail mortality among groups (χ² = 1.193, P > 0.05). Conclusion The molluscicidal action of the fermentation broth supernatants of B. indicus F19 is tolerant to high temperature and UV irradiation; however, the activity is attenuated under alkaline conditions.

Objective To investigate the existing nuclear radiation health emergency response capacity of local health systems at nuclear power plant sites in Guangdong Province. Methods The health administrative departments of all nuclear power plants sites in Guangdong Province, along with radiation health protection institutions, designated nuclear radiation treatment hospitals, and township health centers, were selected as the study subjects using the purposive sampling method. A series of standardized questionnaires on the capacities for nuclear radiation health emergency response, developed uniformly by the National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, were adopted to separately investigate the capacities for nuclear radiation health emergency response in the study subjects. Results There were 13 health administration departments, 15 radiological health protection institutions, 18 designated hospitals for nuclear radiation medical response, and 18 township health centers located in the nuclear power plants sites in Guangdong Province. Among the 13 health administration departments, the Health Commission of Guangdong Province met all 15 criteria for nuclear radiation health emergency response capacities. All six prefecture-level health administrative departments possessed more than 10 capacities for nuclear radiation health emergency response, while only one of the six county-level departments had more than 10 such capacities. Among radiation health protection institutions, the provincial-level institution possessed all 18 capacity for nuclear radiation health emergency response; of the six prefectural-level institutions, only four had more than 10 capacities; none of the eight county-level institutions or 18 township health centers possessed more than 10 capacities. Among designated nuclear radiation treatment hospitals, provincial-level institution met all 32 capacities for nuclear radiation health emergency response; of the eight prefecture‑level hospitals, only four meet more than ten such capacities; and of the nine county‑level hospitals and 18 township health centers, none possess more than 10 capacities. Conclusion Provincial- and prefectural-level nuclear radiation emergency capacity in Guangdong Province is adequate, whereas county-level and township health centers have obvious weaknesses in organizational structure, personnel training, equipment reserves, funding, and technical reserves; emergency response capacity needs urgent enhancement.

Objective​ To analyze the current status of nuclear radiation health emergency response capacity in areas of the nuclear power plants in Guangdong Province, and to formulate a construction plan for municipal-level nuclear radiation health emergency response teams. Methods Provincial-, municipal-, and county-level administrative regions in the nuclear power plant host areas of Guangdong Province were selected as the study subjects. A series of questionnaires designed by the National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, were used to assess the capacity of nuclear radiation health emergency response. Based on the findings, a construction plan for municipal-level nuclear radiation health emergency response teams was formulated. Results A total of 13 administrative regions which host nuclear power plants were involved, including one provincial-level, six municipal-level, and six county-level regions. The availability rates of 31 capacity indicators of nuclear radiation health emergency response among 13 administrative regions ranged from 15% to 100%, with an average of 51%. Provincial-level capacity of nuclear radiation health emergency response was relatively well established, county-level radiation monitoring and protection capacity was nearly absent, municipal-level regions possessed basic capacity, but with obvious regional disparities and a general lack of specialized facilities and materials required for the treatment of nuclear radiation injuries, making them the key level for improvement in nuclear radiation health emergency response. The Construction Plan for Municipal-Level Nuclear Radiation Health Emergency Response Teams specifies that the total number of team members should be no fewer than 30 to ensure rapid response and immediate arrival at the scene. The List of Key Professional Equipment proposes the prioritized allocation of five categories of equipment: personal basic equipment, contamination detection and classification equipment, decontamination equipment, medical treatment equipment, and command and logistical support equipment. Conclusion Nuclear radiation health emergency response capacity in Guangdong Province requires further improvement, particularly in standardized development of municipal-level nuclear radiation health emergency response teams. The Construction Plan for Municipal-Level Nuclear Radiation Health Emergency Response Teams defines capacity requirements and provides a list of essential equipment, offering a practical reference for other regions.

OBJECTIVE To formulate the Expert Consensus on the Management of Radiopharmaceuticals in Medical Institutions （hereinafter referred to as “the Consensus”）， focusing on key aspects such as the procurement of radiopharmaceuticals， the management of self-made radiopharmaceutical preparations， standardized clinical application， and patient medication safety management， so as to provide a reference for improving the whole-process management of radiopharmaceuticals in medical institutions.METHODS The Consensus was initiated by the Chinese Society of Nuclear Medicine， the Clinical Pharmacy Professional Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association， and the Committee of Integrative Oncology Pharmacy of the China Anti-Cancer Association. Organized by the consensus drafting group more than 90 experts from the fields of nuclear medicine， nuclear pharmacy， and pharmacy science across China were involved. The Consensus was developed through systematic review of relevant laws， regulations， policy documents， and existing experience in radiopharmaceutical management， followed by extensive discussion and deliberation to finalize the consensus. RESULTS &CONCLUSIONS The Consensus establishes 10 key points for whole-process management of radiopharmaceuticals in medical institutions， covering organizational management and personnel requirements， procurement， preparation， acceptance， storage， risk prevention and control during use， radiation protection， and waste disposal. The Consensus provides a reference for improving radiopharmaceutical management in medical institutions and for ensuring their efficacy and safety in clinical application.

The concept of "qi deficiency with stagnation" refers to a pathological state characterized by the depletion of primordial qi， impaired qi transformation， and the development of internal stagnation. Under the cyclic chemotherapy regimen in oncology， chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression follows a progressive pathological course from qi deficiency to increasing stagnation. This sequential evolution from mild to severe myelosuppression closely aligns with the dynamic syndrome differentiation and treatment framework of "qi deficiency with stagnation". "Qi deficiency" reflects the gradual depletion of qi， blood， and essence， while "stagnation" refers to the accumulation of phlegm， turbid dampness， and blood stasis. These two components interact reciprocally， forming a vicious cycle where deficiency leads to stagnation， and stagnation further damages the healthy qi. In the early stage of mild myelosuppression， chemotoxicity begins to accumulate in the bone marrow， leading to qi consumption， blood deficiency， yin injury， and the gradual formation of turbid phlegm and damp stagnation. In the advanced stage of severe myelosuppression， the accumulation of toxicity causes qi sinking， exhaustion of essence， and marrow depletion， along with blood stasis obstructing the collaterals. Treatment strategies should be based on syndrome differentiation， with an emphasis on assessing the severity of the condition， balancing deficiency and excess， and achieving both symptomatic relief and root cause resolution.
