Objective:To explore the therapeutic effects of Jiugong abdominal meridian massage combined with Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion in patients after radical resection of colorectal cancer. Methods:A convenience sampling method was used to select 200 patients who underwent radical resection of colorectal cancer at Huzhou First People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023. Patients were randomly divided into three groups using a random number table: the control group ( n=62), the Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion group ( n=66), and the combined group ( n=72). The control group received conventional interventions, the Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion group received Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion in addition to the conventional intervention, and the combined group received Jiugong abdominal meridian massage in addition to the Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion. Gastrointestinal function recovery and pain scores were compared among the three groups after the intervention. Results:After intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the recovery time of bowel sounds, time to tolerate solid food by mouth, time to first bowel movement, gastric body motility frequency, total gastrointestinal output rate, gastric emptying rate, and pain scores among the three groups ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Jiugong abdominal meridian massage combined with Zhuang medicine line acupoint moxibustion intervention can effectively improve the gastrointestinal function indicators and reduce postoperative pain in patients after radical resection of colorectal cancer.

Objective:To identify core genes with co-expression trends in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and lateral habenula (LHb) through miRNA sequencing, and to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the onset and progress of sleep disturbances in depression. Methods:A rat model of depression with sleep disturbances was established. Behavioral assessments were conducted using the pentobarbital-induced sleep test, sucrose water consumption test, and open field test. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the SCN and LHb of model rats were analyzed using biological replicates with the limma package and DESeq2 software. Gene ontology (GO), KEGG, Reactome pathway-gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) were performed on the DEGs.Co-expression networks and protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks were constructed using R and Cytoscape software for further screening of genes with potential regulatory roles. Results:After modeling, the sleep latency in the model group ((679.88±350.05) s) was longer than that in the normal group ((316.25±87.35) s) ( t=-2.851, P=0.022), while the sleep duration in the model group ((33.13±8.41) min) was shorter than that in the normal group ((69.72±25.11) min) ( t=3.907, P=0.004). Additionally, the model group exhibited lower sucrose water consumption, horizontal movement counts, and vertical movement counts compared to the normal group (all P<0.05). Differential expression gene analysis showed, in the SCN, 379 genes were upregulated and 132 genes were downregulated, with the top five most significantly differentially expressed genes being Sec61g, Cox6b1, Ephx2, Thrsp, and Pak2. In the LHb, 1 657 genes were upregulated and 1 737 were downregulated, with the top five most significantly differentially expressed genes being Mrpl32, Mrpl20, Mrpl27, Celsr2, and Uba52. Biological pathways enriched in the SCN were mainly associated with the positive regulation of responses to external and biological stimuli. In contrast, pathways enriched in the LHb were related to neurotransmitter level regulation, developmental growth, neurotransmitter transport, and processes such as learning and memory. Co-expression network analysis identified 864 interactions involving 100 nodes in the SCN and 524 interactions involving 99 nodes in the LHb. Conclusion:The biological functions and signaling pathways of the suprachiasmatic nucleus and lateral habenula are different in the occurrence and development of depression with sleep disturbance, and the significantly differentially expressed genes may play an important role.

Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder characterized by abnormal synchronous neuronal discharges in the brain, often accompanied by various complications. The pathogenesis of epilepsy has not yet been fully elucidated. Optogenetics, a cutting-edge technique that integrates optics and genetics, enables precise modulation of specific neurons by regulating light-sensitive proteins. Utilizing optogenetic technology has facilitated the dissection of neural circuits involved in epileptic seizures within brain regions such as the hippocampus, thalamus, hypothalamus. It has also helped identify potential therapeutic targets for epilepsy-related complications, including cognitive impairment, sudden unexpected death in epilepsy and mood disorders. However, in the process of advancing from basic research to clinical treatment, its translational path is profoundly influenced by factors such as stimulation modes (the choice between open-loop and closed-loop systems), key parameters (light frequency), and intervention strategies (unilateral or bilateral target selection). The individualized customization of these factors represents the future direction for overcoming current translational bottlenecks and achieving precise treatment.

Temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE)is the most common form of focal epilepsy in adults, characterized by spontaneous recurrent seizures, with most patients experiencing drug resistance and cognitive dysfunction.MicroRNAs(miRNAs)play a critical role in the pathological process of TLE through their regulation of post-transcriptional gene expression. The pathogenesis of TLE has not been fully elucidated, lacking effective clinical therapeutic targets and prognostic markers. This review sum-marized the expression changes of miRNAs in TLE and their research progress as potential biomarkers, aiming to provide new insights into the early diagnosis, prognosis evaluation, and pathogenic mecha-nisms of TLE.

Research shows that epileptic seizures are essentially due to abnormal functions of neural circuits. Optogenetics regulates neural circuits by specifically expressing light-sensitive proteins in target neurons, which has now become an important tool in the research of temporal lobe epilepsy. Studies have shown that optogenetics focuses on brain regions such as the hippocampus, medial septal nucleus, cerebellum, and basal ganglia in studying temporal lobe epilepsy. This article reviews the research progress of optogenetics in exploring the pathogenesis and therapeutic targets of temporal lobe epilepsy, aiming to provide new ideas for temporal lobe epilepsy treatment.
