Objective Exploring the relationship between the cognitive function level of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and malnutrition. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 456 patients with PD admitted to the hospital between April 2021 and April 2025. The nutritional status and cognitive function of patients were evaluated by Mini Nutrition Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Pearson correlation analysis explored the correlation between MNA-SF score and MoCA total score. Based on the occurrence status of cognitive dysfunction, the patients were classified into cognitive dysfunction group (264 cases) and normal cognitive function group (192 cases). Multivariate logistic regression was utilized to analyze the independent relevant factors of cognitive dysfunction. Results Among the 413 PD patients in this study, the MNA-SF score and total MoCA score were (9.35±2.16) points and (25.26±2.34) points. Pearson correlation analysis indicated that MNA-SF score was positively associated with MoCA total score (r=0.615, P<0.001). Compared with patients in the normal cognitive function group, the patients in the cognitive dysfunction group were older, had shorter years of education, longer PD course, higher proportion of cerebrovascular lesion and lower MNA-SF score (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that age, PD course, cerebrovascular lesion and decreased MNA-SF score were independent relevant factors of cognitive dysfunction in elderly PD patients (P<0.05). Conclusion Malnutrition in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease is significantly associated with cognitive impairment, and as an independent factor, it can increase the risk of cognitive dysfunction in these patients.

Objective:To assess the efficacy and safety of Gongxuening Capsules in reducing post-abortion bleeding following artificial abortion.Methods:A multicenter, randomized, double-blind study was conducted. From May 31, 2022 to March 31, 2023, 484 women who underwent vacuum aspiration abortion for early intrauterine pregnancy were enrolled in 11 centers and randomly assigned to control group and the study group at a 1∶1 ratio using a center-block randomization method. Control group were administered a placebo of Gongxuening Capsules for 9 d, while the study group received the actual Gongxuening Capsules for the same duration. The outcomes measured included vaginal bleeding volume, duration of vaginal bleeding, endometrial thickness, time to menstrual recovery, and complications.Results:1) A total of 484 subjects were enrolled, and 472 completed the study. Totally 450 subjects were included in the efficacy analysis set, with 224 in control group and 226 in the study group; 468 subjects were included in the safety analysis set, with 236 in control group and 232 in the study group. The baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable (all P>0.05). 2) The vaginal bleeding volume was lower in the study group [(13.30±12.14) mL] than in control group [(19.00±17.67) mL, P<0.001]. The proportion of subjects in the study group with bleeding days less than 4 d [29.65% (67/226)] was higher than that in control group [19.20% (43/224), P=0.010]. 3) No significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of time to menstrual recovery and endometrial thickness (all P>0.05). 4) In the study group, 3 subjects experienced non-therapeutic-related complications, while 11 subjects in control group. The incidence of complications was lower in the study group [1.29% (3/232)] than in control group [4.66% (11/236), P=0.033]. Conclusion:The administration of Gongxuening Capsules to women following artificial abortion significantly reduced vaginal bleeding volume and was associated with good safety, with the treatment being well-tolerated by the subjects.

Objective To investigate the value of MRI of the sternal end of clavicle in bone age assessment in Chinese population,especially its applicability in the determination of criminal responsible age.Methods A total of 431 patients aged from 10.00 to 29.99 years with neck or chest MRI were retrospectively collected.According to the Schmeling grading method,the epiphyseal development of the clavicle MRI was divided into five grades.The consistency of methods was evaluated.The correlation and general descriptive analysis between MRI grades and age was analyzed.The sex difference was analyzed.Curve fitting was used to establish a nonlinear model between age and grades.Results The grades of clavicle MRI showed a significant age-related trend(Figure 2),and the correlation was 0.861(0.887 in males and 0.840 in females).Except for grade 1,there was no significant difference between males and females in other grades.The minimum age of male grade 3 was greater than 14 years old,and the minimum age of female grade 3 was greater than 16 years old.The minimum age in grade 4 and grade 5 was over 18 years old in both sexes.The best curve fitting model was cubic model for both sexes(R2=0.805 for men and 0.722 for women).Conclusion Clavicle MRI can be used for the assessment of bone age in Chinese population.Complete epiphyseal plate closure can be used as a reliable indicator for the determination of age at 18 years old,and it is expected to achieve radiation-free forensic bone age assessment.

Myocardial infarction （MI） refers to an acute clinical syndrome of myocardial necrosis due to persistent ischemia and hypoxia， resulting from the sharp reduction or interruption of coronary blood flow. Nuclear factor κB （NF-κB） is the key factor in inducing inflammatory response， and it is involved in the production of pro-inflammatory factors and myocardial cell apoptosis. This article systematically describes the molecular regulation mechanism of the NF-κB signaling pathway in MI， and reviews the related research on the prevention and treatment of MI through the regulation of this signaling pathway by active ingredients and compound formulas from traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）. It has been found that active ingredients from TCM， such as ginsenoside Rg3， baicalein， curcumin， tanshinone ⅡA， gambogic acid， as well as compound formulas， including Qili qiangxin capsules， Yiqi huoxue decoction， Lingbao huxin dan， Danhong injection， Baoyuan decoction combined with Taohong siwu decoction， can improve myocardial fibrosis， alleviate inflammatory responses， and inhibit cardiomyocyte apoptosis by suppressing the NF-κB signaling pathway. Thereby， they achieve the goal of preventing and treating MI.

Zika virus(ZIKV)is a mosquito-borne flavivirus associated with neurological complications such as Limbari syndrome in adults and microcephaly in newborns.As there are no drugs or preventive vaccines available to specifically treat ZIKV infection,there is an urgent need to take comprehensive measures to prevent and control ZIKV infection and stop its spread.In this paper,we reviewed the structure and function of ZIKV gene and protein,and summarized the progress in the development of virus-targeting anti-ZIKV drug candidates through high-throughput screening and drug relocation,and summarized the mechanism of action of virus and host cell targeting drug candidates.The research and development trend of small molecule antiviral drugs in the future is prospected,which provides reference for promoting the research and development of new anti-ZIKV drugs.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of earthworm protein on the expression of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/nuclear factor E₂-related factor 2 （PI3K/Akt/Nrf2） pathway in the aorta of spontaneously hypertensive rats （SHR） and explore mechanism of earthworm protein in treating hypertensive vascular endothelial dysfunction （VED）. MethodTen 10-week-old Wistar Kyoto （WKY） rats and fifty SHR rats were selected for a week of adaptive feeding. WKY rats were selected as the normal group， and fifty SHR rats were randomized according to body weight into model， valsartan （8×10^-3 g·kg^-1·d^-1）， and high-， medium-， and low-dose （0.2， 0.1， 0.05 g·kg^-1·d^-1， respectively） earthworm protein groups. The normal and model groups were administrated with equal volume of double distilled water by gavage. During the drug intervention period， the general situations of rats in each group were observed and their blood pressure was monitored at specific time points every other week before and after administration. After 8 weeks of drug intervention， enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was employed to measure the levels of angiotensin-Ⅱ （Ang-Ⅱ） and endothelin-1 （ET-1） in the serum of rats in each group. The corresponding kits were used to determine the levels of nitric oxide （NO）， malondialdehyde （MDA）， glutathione peroxidase （GPX）， superoxide dismutase （SOD）， and ferrous ion （Fe²⁺）. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining was employed to observe the changes in the intima of the aorta. Fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction （Real-time PCR） was employed to measure the mRNA levels of PI3K， Akt， Nrf2， heme oxygenase-1 （HO-1）， and glutathione peroxidase 4 （GPX4） in the aortic tissue. Western blotting was used to determine the protein levels of p-PI3K （Tyr467/199）， PI3K， p-Akt （Ser473）， Akt， Nrf2， HO-1， and GPX4 in the thoracic aorta. ResultCompared with the normal group， the model group had decreased body mass， increased irritability， severe endothelial damage， elevated blood pressure and serum levels of Ang-Ⅱ， ET1， MDA， and Fe²⁺ （P<0.01）， lowered NO level （P<0.01）， and down-regulated mRNA and protein levels of p-PI3K （Tyr467/199）， PI3K， p-Akt （Ser473）， Akt， Nrf2， HO-1， and GPX4 in the aortic tissue （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， drug intervention caused no significant change in the body mass， calmed the rats， alleviated the endothelial damage， lowered blood pressure and serum levels of Ang-Ⅱ， ET1， MDA， and Fe²⁺ （P<0.01）， elevated the NO level （P<0.05）， and up-regulated the mRNA and protein levels of p-PI3K （Tyr467/199）， PI3K， p-Akt （Ser473）， Akt， Nrf2， HO-1， and GPX4 （P<0.05）. ConclusionThe earthworm protein can exert antihypertensive effects by ameliorating VED in SHR. Specifically， it may regulate the PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 signaling pathway to inhibit oxidative stress and ferroptosis.
