Objective:To evaluate the performance of deep learning reconstruction (DLR) in visualizing lenticulostriate arteries (LSAs) on cerebral CT angiography (CTA).Methods:This cross-sectional study retrospectively analyzed cerebral CTA from 38 patients who underwent cerebral CTA at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University between January and December 2023. Images were reconstructed using filtered back projection (FBP), three-dimensional adaptive iterative dose reduction (AIDR), and DLR-advanced inteuigent clear-IQ engine(AiCE) algorithms (FBP group, AIDR group, DLR-AiCE group). On axial images, the mean CT values, standard deviation (SD), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were measured at the origin of LSAs, cerebrospinal fluid in lateral ventricles, temporal muscle, and head of the caudate nucleus. Subjective evaluations were performed for overall vascular visualization and LSAs delineation. Comparisons of subjective and objective evaluation indexes among the 3 groups were performed using the complex measurement ANOVA, Friedman test, or χ2 test. Results:The CT, SD, SNR and CNR values at the origin of LSAs, cerebrospinal fluid in lateral ventricles, temporal muscle, and head of the caudate nucleus demonstrated statistically significance among DLR-AiCE group, AIDR group and FBP group ( P<0.001), in which, except for the difference between the FBP group and the AIDR group in the CT value of the head of the caudate nucleus and the CT value of the cerebrospinal fluid of the lateral ventricle which was not statistically significant ( P>0.05), the remaining pairwise comparisons between the groups for each site measurements were statistically significant ( P<0.001). The difference in the overall comparison of the subjective scores of the overall vessels and LSAs in the images of the DLR-AiCE group, the AIDR group, and the FBP group was statistically significant ( P<0.001), and the two-by-two comparisons showed a statistically significant difference ( P<0.001) except for the difference in the subjective scores of LSAs between the FBP group and the AIDR group. Conclusion:The DLR-AiCE algorithm significantly reduces image noise and improves image quality, enabling superior visualization of LSAs, thereby enhancing diagnostic confidence.

Objective To explore method for improving the colonization efficiency of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)in the mouse stomach and to determine if the proton pump inhibitor(PPI)pantoprazole can act as a colonization adjuvant to enhance Hp colonization,with the aim of providing an effective tool for establishing an Hp infection mouse model.Methods The Hp Sydney strain 1(SS1)was introduced and solid plate and liquid culture systems were established.The effects of different doses of pantoprazole on gastric acid secretion in mice were compared.The impact of Hp inoculation,alone or combined with pantoprazole pretreatment,on Hp colonization efficiency was analyzed using rapid urease tests,bacterial plate cultures,and TaqMan quantitative polymerase chain reaction.Results PPI pretreatment inhibited gastric acid secretion and promoted Hp colonization in the mouse stomach,to some extent.Conclusions PPI can serve as colonization adjuvants to enhanc e the efficiency of constructing Hp infection mouse models.

This study was aimed at exploring the epidemic characteristics and spatio-temporal evolution patterns of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)in Henan Province from 2011 to 2022,to provide a reference for prevention and control ef-forts.Data on SFTS in Henan Province from 2011 to 2022 were collected from the Information Management System for Infectious Dis-ease Reporting,and epidemiological characteristics and spatio-temporal evolution patterns were investigated through spatial autocorre-lation analysis,standard deviation ellipse analysis,and spatial-centered transfer curves,on a district-county basis.From 2011 to 2022,a total of 5 471 SFTS cases associated with 81 deaths were reported in Henan Province.The incidence rate showed an increasing trend(χ2trend=23.24,P<0.001),and the average annual incidence was 0.4 677/100 000.The case-fatality rate showed a decreasing trend from 2011 to 2019(χ2trend=8.86,P=0.003),but an increasing trend from 2020 to 2022(χ2trend=12.93,P<0.001).The average an-nual case-fatality rate was 1.48%.The peak incidence period was from May to July;this period accounted for 58.75%of the total cases.Females(59.39%),individuals 60-80 years old(55.40%),and farmers(96.64%)were the high prevalence groups.The disease was distributed primarily in Xinyang City,and Shangcheng County had the highest incidence rate(27.411 8/100 000).Spatial aggregation was observed in the southeastern region(Moran's I>0,P<0.001),and the disease centers were all located in Guangshan County,Xin-yang City,and showed southeast-northwest-southeast-northwest-southeast-northeast-southwest movement during the 12-year pe-riod.In conclusion,from 2011 to 2022,SFTS in Henan Province had a high incidence in May to July,and females,older people,and farmers were the high-risk groups.Spatial aggregation was observed in the southeastern region,along with spread to surrounding areas.Xinyang City is therefore a key area for the prevention and control of SFTS.

Aim To analyze the correlation between serum retinol-binding protein 4(RBP4),low density lipo-protein cholesterol to albumin ratio(LDLC/Alb),monocyte to high density lipoprotein ratio(MHR)and plaque stability in carotid atherosclerosis population and their predictive value for acute ischemic stroke(AIS).Methods A total of 197 patients with asymptomatic carotid atherosclerosis admitted to our hospital from September 2021 to January 2023 were selected for a prospective cohort study,and they were categorized into occurred group and non-occurred group according to whether AIS occurred within 12 months.Baseline information at time of visit,results of the cervical ultrasonography and serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb,MHR levels were compared between the two groups.Spearman/Pearson and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve were used to analyze the corr-elation of RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR with carotid atherosclerosis and plaque stability,and the value of predicting AIS in carotid atherosclerosis population.Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test was used to evaluate the calibration ability of serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR to jointly predict AIS in carotid atherosclerosis population.Results The carotid intima-media thickness(IMT)was higher in occurred group than that in non-occurred group.There were more soft plaques and mixed plaques in occurred group than in non-occurred group(P＜0.05).Serum levels of RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR were higher in occurred group than those in non-occurred group(P＜0.05).The correlation analysis showed that the levels of serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR were positively correla-ted with IMT(r=0.803,0.740,0.710)and plaque properties(r=0.736,0.685,0.703)(P＜0.001).ROC curve a-nalysis showed that the AUC of serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR in predicting AIS in carotid atherosclerosis population was 0.796,0.821 and 0.828,respectively,and the AUC of MHR was the largest;the AUC of the combination of serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR was 0.936,which was higher than that of MHR(Z=2.978,P＜0.05),the predictive sensi-tivity and specificity were 88.24％and 87.40％.Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test showed that there was no signifi-cant difference between serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb and MHR in predicting AIS and the actual observation value in carotid atherosclerosis population(P＞0.05),and the prediction model had good calibration ability.Conclusion Serum RBP4,LDLC/Alb,and MHR are positively correlated with carotid atherosclerosis and plaque stability,and can predict the occurrence of AIS.Combined detection of the three can be used as a method for early identification of potential high-risk populations for AIS,providing a new,quantifiable guidance scheme for the prevention and treatment of AIS in carotid ath-erosclerotic population.

Purpose To investigate the clinicopathological features,molecular subtypes,and prognostic factors of diffuse midline glioma(DMG)with H3K27 alterations.Methods Clinical data from 19 patients from DMG were col-lected.The clinical manifestations,histopathological features,immunophenotypes,and molecular genetic characteris-tics were analyzed.Relevant literature was also reviewed.Results Among the 19 patients,12 cases had tumors loca-ted in the thalamus,while 7 cases had tumors in other midline regions(including 4 cases in the brainstem,1 case in the cerebellum,and 2 cases in the spinal cord).Clinical symptoms primarily included dizziness,gait instability,and blurred vision.Histological features were diverse,with 12 cases classified as high-grade gliomas and 7 cases as low-grade.Immunohistochemistry revealed a loss of H3K27me3 expression in all cases,with 18 cases showing diffuse H3K27M positivity and 1 case expressing EZHIP.Of the 16 cases that underwent next-generation sequencing(NGS),1 case showed EGFR mutation(1/16,6％),while the remaining 15 cases had H3F3A K27M mutations(15/16,94％).Among these,7 cases had ATRX mutations(7/15,46.6％),5 cases had MAPK pathway alterations(5/15,33.3％,including 2 cases FGFR1,2 cases NF1,1 case co-mutated with BRAF and NF1),5 cases had PDGFRA mis-sense mutations(5/15,33.3％),4 cases had p53 missense or frameshift deletions(4/15,26.6％).One case each had a DICER1 missense mutation and an IDH1-S202R frameshift deletion(1/15,6.6％).The prognosis was general-ly poor,with a median survival of 9.5 months.Conclusion DMG exhibits high tumor heterogeneity and an overall poor prognosis.The predominant molecular aleration was the H3F3A K27M mutation.Patients with co-altered MAPK pathway showed relatively better outcomes,providing new insights into the molecular genetic characteristics of DMG.

Objective To explore the role of secreted phosphoprotein 1(SPP1)and myeloid differentiation primary response 88(MYD88)in morphine-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis.Methods A morphine addiction model was established in Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats.Twelve SD rats were randomly assigned to the normal saline(NS)group or the morphine-dependent(DAM)group.Histopathological analysis was employed to observe and compare myocardial tissue morphology between the two groups.Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)staining was performed to assess the number of apoptotic cells in each group.The expression levels of SPP1 and MYD88 were evaluated using immunohistochemistry.Quantitative real-time poly merase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and Western blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression of SPP1,MYD88,Bax,Bcl2,Caspase-3,and Caspase-9.Simultaneously,Western blot analysis was used to detected the expression of Cleaved Caspase-3 and Cleaved Caspase-9 proteins.In vitro,SPP1 expression was knocked down in primary neonatal rat cardiomyocytes(NRCMs),and cells were divided into three groups:control(CON),morphine treated(DA),and shSPP1#3+DA.Cell viability was assessed using the CCK-8 assay,and apoptosis rates were determined by flow cytometry.Results HE and TUNEL staining of myocardial tissues from morphine-addicted SD rats revealed that,compared with the NS group,myofibrils in the DAM group exhibited partial disruption and a significant increase in apoptotic cells(P<0.05).Western blot and RT-qPCR analyses demonstrated that,relative to the NS group,the mRNA and protein levels of SPP1,MYD88,Bax,Caspase-3,and Caspase-9 were significantly upregulated in the DAM group(P<0.05),whereas Bcl2 expression was significantly downregulated at both mRNA and protein levels(P<0.05),and the protein expression levels of Cleaved Caspase-3 and Cleaved Caspase-9 were also increased.with all differences being statistically significant.In NRCMs following morphine intervention,cell viability in the DA group was markedly reduced compared to the CON group(P<0.05),accompanied by a signifi-cant increase in apoptosis rate(P<0.05).Consistently,Western blot and RT-qPCR results showed elevated mRNA and protein expression of SPP1,MYD88,Bax,Caspase-3,and Caspase-9 in the DA group(P<0.05),along with decreased Bcl2 expression(P<0.05).The protein expression levels of Cleaved Caspase-3 and Cleaved Caspase-9 were elevated simultaneously.In contrast,the shSPP1#3+DA group exhibited opposing trends compared to the DA group,with statistically sig nificant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion SPP1 and MYD88 play critical roles in mediating morphine-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis,and silencing SPP1 has been shown to significantly reduce the extent of cardiomyocyte apoptosis following morphine exposure.

Dental implantology has developed rapidly for over half a century,since pure titanium(99.7％)dental cylindrical threaded implants were exploited and osseointegration was introduced in 1960s by Prof.Br?nemark.The long term retention rates of 10 years or more are over 95％.However,the biological complications jeopardize the long term effects of dental implant treatment seriously.The prevalence of dental implant biological complications varies greatly among different reports resulting from the disparities on the defini-tions of dental implant biological complications.After analyzing and summarizing the major opinions proposed internationally in recent years,the consensus for the definition of dental implant biological complications has been reached.Generally the dental implant biologi-cal implications can be classified into early stage(before restoration)biological complications and late stage(after restoration)biological complications.The early stage biological complications include acute and chronic infections,pain,soft tissue deficiency,and osseointegration failure,etc.The late stage complications include peri-implant diseases(peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis),soft tissue deficiency around implant,implant loosening and dropping off,etc.The various risk factors related to different dental implant biological complications,the strategies of the prevention and treatment for the dental implant biological complications have been discussed comprehensively,and the consensus has been reached.It is aimed to advocate the dentist to pay more attention to the early prevention of the biological implant complications,to promote more researches on the implant biological complications,and to help elevate the level of dental implantology in our country.
