Objective: To apply network analysis for exploring the relationship of maltreatment experiences and peer relationships with school bullying among middle school students, so as to provide empirical evidences for the development of targeted intervention programs. Methods: From March to April 2024, a total of 2 119 middle school students aged 12-18 in Shantou City were selected through stratified cluster random sampling. Self administered questionnaire was used to collect data on bullying experiences, maltreatment, and peer relationships. The Glasso network model was employed to estimate network structure. Results: The strongest edge in the network of maltreatment experiences, peer relationships and school bullying was the connecting line connecting peer acceptance and peer terrorized low self esteem (edge weight=0.59) among middle school students. The network faked fraudulent victimization was the most central node in the whole network (strength=7.98). The bridge symptoms of the network were sexual abuse, property bullying of others, relational bullying victimization, and verbal bullying of others, with the strongest bridge node being sexual abuse (bridge strength=1.07). In the accuracy estimation of centrality indices, closeness centrality demonstrated the highest accuracy, followed by strength and betweenness, with coefficient of stability of 0.60, 0.44 and 0.21, respectively. The stability of the network was good. Conclusion Peer acceptance has the strongest correlation with peer fear and inferiority, and is closely related to emotional abuse and emotional neglect.

Objective:To investigate and analysis of the occurrence and influencing factors of sarcopenia in elderly critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).Methods:A prospective cohort study was conducted. Elderly patients (aged ≥ 60 years) admitted to the ICU of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from November 2023 to June 2024 were enrolled. Clinical records were collected, and conduct muscle mass and strength measurements, as well as upper arm circumference and calf circumference were measured. Appendicular skeletal muscle index (ASMI) of less than 7.0 kg/m 2 for males and less than 5.7 kg/m 2 for females was defined as reduced muscle mass, grip strength of less than 28 kg for males and less than 18 kg for females was defined as decreased muscle strength, patients meeting both low muscle mass and low muscle strength criteria were diagnosed with sarcopenia. According to the diagnostic criteria for sarcopenia, patients were divided into sarcopenia group and non-sarcopenia group. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was applied to identify risk factors for sarcopenia in the elderly and to develop a predictive model for the occurrence of sarcopenia. The predictive value of various risk factors for sarcopenia in elderly critically ill patients were evaluated by receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC curve). The Kaplan-Meier curve for the length of ICU stay of two groups patients were drawn. Results:Finally, 540 elderly critically ill patients were included, including 43 patients with sarcopenia, and the incidence of sarcopenia was 8.0%. Univariate analysis showed that there were significantly differences in body mass index (BMI), number of hospitalizations in the past year, the length of ICU stay, ventilation mode, duration of mechanical ventilation, pre-admission exercise habits, nutritional support methods, upper arm circumference, calf circumference, and albumin infusion between the sarcopenia group and the non-sarcopenia group. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI [odds ratio ( OR) = 0.79, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) was 0.67-0.93, P = 0.004], calf circumference ( OR = 0.64, 95% CI was 0.54-0.76, P < 0.001), and duration of mechanical ventilation ( OR = 1.06, 95% CI was 1.01-1.12, P = 0.034) were associated with an increased risk of sarcopenia in elderly critically ill patients. The ROC curve results showed that the area under the curve (AUC) and 95% CI of BMI, calf circumference, and duration of mechanical ventilation for predicting sarcopenia in elderly critically ill patients were 0.828 (0.767-0.888), 0.889 (0.844-0.933), and 0.397 (0.299-0.496), respectively, with cut-off values of 22.95 kg/m 2, 28.25 cm, and 50.50 days, respectively. The Kaplan-Meier curve showed that the cumulative survival rate of patients with sarcopenia was significantly lower than that of the non-sarcopenia group (Log-Rank test: χ 2 = 5.619, P = 0.018). Conclusion:Lower BMI, smaller calf circumference, and longer duration of mechanical ventilation are associated with an increased risk of sarcopenia in critically ill elderly patients.

Objective To assess the efficacy of transvaginal three-dimensional power Doppler ultrasound(3D-PDU)in predicting pregnancy outcomes after mild and moderate transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA).Methods Sixty-six patients with mild and moderate intrauterine adhesions(IUA)who had fertility issues and underwent TCRA surgery in Tongde Hospital of Zhejiang Province from January 2020 to December 2021 were chosen,31 successful pregnancy patients were included in pregnancy group,and 35 unsuccessful pregnancy patients were included in non pregnancy group.3D-PDU examination was performed before and 3 months after surgery.The measurements of endometrial thickness(ED),uterine volume(EV),endometrial vasculogenesis index(VI),blood flow index(FI),and vasculogenesis-blood flow index(VFI)were taken.The pregnancy was followed up for 1 year to observe the prognostic value of the above related indicators on postoperative pregnancy.Results The ED,EV,VI,FI and VFI levels of patients post-operation were significantly higher than those before the operation(P＜0.05),the improvement of pregnant group patients was better than that of non pregnant group patients(P＜0.05),and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve were 0.80,0.84,0.68,0.65 and 0.88 respectively.Conclusion 3D-PDU can effectively predict the postoperative pregnancy outcome of TCRA in patients with mild to moderate IUA by measuring ED,EV,VI,FI,and VFI before and after surgery,providing reference for efficacy evaluation and guiding subsequent treatment.

Objective To investigate the impact of the interaction of fasting blood glucose(FBG)and serum uric acid(SUA)on diabetic retinopathy(DR).Methods A total of 306 diabetes mellitus(DM)patients diagnosed and re-ceived comprehensive ophthalmic examination in the First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January 2019 to January 2021 were selected.According to the presence or absence of DR,these patients were divided into the DR group(178 patients)and the non-DR(NDR)group(128 patients).The general clinical data of patients in the two groups were compared.The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression method and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to screen the independent influencing factors of DR in DM patients,and the odds ratio of risk factors was calculated.The sensitivity analysis of the results was performed using the E-value method.The interaction of FBG and SUA on DR in DM patients was analyzed by an additive interaction model.The Nomogram model to predict DR in DM patients was constructed and verified internally.The receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to evalu-ate the effects of FBG,SUA and both FBG and SUA on DR in DM patients.Results Compared with the NDR group,the course of DM in the DR group was significantly longer,the proportion of patients with history of oral medication was signif-icantly lower,the proportion of patients with history of insulin therapy was significantly higher,and the levels of total cho-lesterol,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,blood urea nitrogen,serum creatinine,SUA and FBG were significantly higher(all P＜0.05).The history of insulin therapy,course of DM≥9.66 years,TG≥2.07 mmol·L-1,SUA ≥ 297.73 μmol·L-1 and FBG ≥8.92 mmol·L-1 were the risk factors for DR in DM pa-tients,while the history of oral medication was the protective factor for DR in DM patients.The Nomogram model based on the above independent risk factors was accurate in predicting the occurrence of DR in DM patients.SUA and FBG had inter-active effects on DR in DM patients.The value of SUA-FBG interaction in the diagnosis of DR was greater than that of both alone.Conclusion SUA≥ 297.73 μmol·L-1 and FBG ≥8.92 mmol·L-1 are the risk factors for DR in DM patients.The value of interaction of FBG and SUA in the diagnosis of DM accompanied by DR is greater than that of both alone.

OBJECTIVE To study the pharmacokinetic changes in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid of bronchial asthma model rats after the complication of Ephedra sinica and Prunus armeniaca. METHODS SD male rats were randomly divided into blank group， model group， E. sinica group （12 g/kg， calculated by raw drug， similarly hereinafter）， P. armeniaca group （6 g/kg） and E. sinica-P. armeniaca drug-pair group （12 g/kg of E. sinica+6 g/kg of P. armeniaca）， with 6 rats in each group. Except for the blank group， the bronchial asthma model was induced by spraying rats in each group with an equal volume mixture of 2% acetylcholine chloride and 0.4% histamine phosphate， once a day， for 7 d. One hour before modeling every time， rats in each group were gavaged with the corresponding drug/normal saline， once a day， for 7 d. After the final administration and provocation of asthma， blood and cerebrospinal fluid collection were performed at different time points. The plasma and cerebrospinal fluid samples were pre-treated （with geranylgeranyl as the internal standard）， and the mass concentrations of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine， methyl ephedrine and amygdalin in both samples were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. DAS 2.0 pharmacokinetic software was used to determine the main pharmacokinetic parameters through the non-atrial chamber model and to compare the changes of the pharmacokinetic parameters before and after the combination of the two drugs. RESULTS Compared with E. sinica group， cmax and AUC0-21.33 h （or AUC0-10.67 h） of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine and methyl ephedrine in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid of rats were significantly reduced in E. sinica-P. armeniaca drug-pair group， while CLZ/F and VZ/F were significantly increased （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）； tmax of methyl ephedrine in the cerebrospinal fluid was significantly shortened （P＜ 0.05）.Compared with P. armeniaca group， the t1/2 of amygdalin in the plasma of rats in E. sinica-P. armeniaca drug-pair group was significantly shortened， and CLZ/F was significantly increased （P＜0.01）； the tmax of bitter amygdalin in the cerebrospinal fluid was significantly shortened， and the AUC0-10.67 h， CLZ/F， and VZ/F were significantly increased （P＜0.01）. CONCLUSIONS The combination of E. sinica and P. armeniaca accelerates the absorption and elimination of ephedra alkaloids， thus reducing the accumulation of ephedra alkaloids in the bronchial asthma model rats.

Ameloblastoma is a benign tumor characterized by locally invasive phenotypes,leading to facial bone destruction and a high recurrence rate.However,the mechanisms governing tumor initiation and recurrence are poorly understood.Here,we uncovered cellular landscapes and mechanisms that underlie tumor recurrence in ameloblastoma at single-cell resolution.Our results revealed that ameloblastoma exhibits five tumor subpopulations varying with respect to immune response(IR),bone remodeling(BR),tooth development(TD),epithelial development(ED),and cell cycle(CC)signatures.Of note,we found that CC ameloblastoma cells were endowed with stemness and contributed to tumor recurrence,which was dominated by the EZH2-mediated program.Targeting EZH2 effectively eliminated CC ameloblastoma cells and inhibited tumor growth in ameloblastoma patient-derived organoids.These data described the tumor subpopulation and clarified the identity,function,and regulatory mechanism of CC ameloblastoma cells,providing a potential therapeutic target for ameloblastoma.

With advancements in radiology,endoscopic techniques,surgical treatments,cell biology and molecular biology,the un-derstanding of temporomandibular disorders(TMD)has increased.The temporomandibular joint(TMJ)is a complex structure comprising both soft and hard tissues.Within the TMJ,the temporomandibular disc is a soft tissue structure that connects the mandible to the skull,providing cushioning and stability during joint movement.Different imaging techniques have their own advantages and limi-tations in the diagnosis and treatment of TMD.Therefore,using image registration technology to assess the condition and position of the articular disc provides new research perspectives for evaluating TMD,which may contribute to the diagnosis and treatment.This article reviews the latest advancements in TMJ imaging,explores the applications of various image registration techniques,particularly in the context of TMD diagnosis and treatment,and discusses future prospects.Combining the research results of some scholars at home and a-broad with the author’s clinical experience,the article aims to provide valuable insights for clinicians.

Objective To investigate the infection status after heart transplantation (HT) in a third-grade class-A hospital from 2018 to 2023, and explore its risk factors. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 314 patients who underwent HT surgery from January 2018 to July 2023, they were divided into infection group and control group according to postoperative infection situation, the possible influencing factors of HT postoperative infection were analyzed by univariate analysis, and the risk factors of HT postoperative infection were screened by multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results A total of 91 patients(28.98%)developed postoperative infections, with infection sites of respiratory tract and blood. Logistic regression analysis showed that the main risk factors for postoperative infection in HT patients included complicating with chronic lung disease, surgical time ≥5 h, long retention time of postoperative thoracic drainage tube, long postoperative urinary tube retention time, long postoperative mechanical ventilation time, and preoperative Alb < 35 g/L. Conclusion Complicating chronic lung disease, surgical time ≥5 h, long postoperative thoracic drainage tube retention time, long postoperative urinary tube retention time, long postoperative mechanical ventilation time, preoperative Alb < 35 g/L are related to postoperative infection of HT. Therefore, active intervention should be carried out for the above factors in patients to reduce the risk of infection.

In recent years, with the change of natural and social factors, such as climate warming, urbanization, land reclamation, human population growth, change of life customs, and convenient transportation, the human infectious diseases transmitted by insect vectors, well known as insect-borne infectious diseases, has increased significantly, causing a serious threat to public health. This paper focuses on the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, especially laboratory diagnosis of insect-borne infectious diseases, and emphasizes that medical institutions should pay attention to the rapid and accurate laboratory diagnosis of insect-borne infectious diseases. Metagenomic next generation sequencing has potential value in the diagnosis of insect-borne infectious diseases with unknown causes.

BACKGROUND: The switch/sucrose nonfermentable chromatin-remodeling (SWI/SNF) complex is a pivotal chromatin remodeling complex, and the genomic alterations (GAs) of the SWI/SNF complex are observed in several cancer types, correlating with multiple biological features of tumor cells. However, their role in liver metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unclear. Our study aims to investigate the role and potential mechanisms underlying NSCLC liver metastasis induced by the GAs of SWI/SNF complex. METHODS: The GAs of SWI/SNF complex in NSCLC cell lines (H1299, H23 and H460) were identified by whole-exome sequencing (WES). ARID1A knockout H1299 cell was constructed with the CRISPR/Cas9 technology. The mouse model of liver metastasis from NSCLC was established to simulate lung cancer liver metastasis and observe the metastasis rate under different gene mutation conditions. RNA sequencing and Western blot were conducted for differential gene expression analysis. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis was used to assess protein expression levels of SWI/SNF-regulated target molecules in mouse liver metastases. RESULTS: WES analysis revealed intracellular gene mutations. The animal experiments demonstrated a correlation between the GAs of SWI/SNF complex and a higher liver metastasis rate in immunodeficient mice. Transcriptome sequencing and Western blot analysis showed upregulated expression of ALDH1A1 and APOBEC3B in SWI/SNF-mut cells, particularly in ARID1A-deficient H460 and H1299 sgARID1A cells. IHC staining of mouse liver metastases further demonstrated elevated expression of ALDH1A1 in the H460 and H1299 sgARID1A group. CONCLUSIONS This study underscores the critical role of the GAs of SWI/SNF complex, such as ARID1A and SMARCA4, in promoting liver metastasis of lung cancer cells. The GAs of SWI/SNF complex may promote liver-specific metastasis by upregulating ALDH1A1 and APOBEC3B expression, providing novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying lung cancer liver metastasis.
