Objective:To explore the relationship between the hypertensive snowbirds′ length of migratory stay and their blood pressure control and blood pressure levels.Methods:This study was a cross-sectional study. A population of snowbirds with hypertension was recruited between October and November 2022, and a structured questionnaire was used to collect their self-measured blood pressure and length of stay in Hainan Province. The blood pressure control status is determined based on self-measured blood pressure. According to the self-measured blood pressure to determine whether the blood pressure was well controlled. The associations between snowbirds′ length of stay and their blood pressure control as well as their self-measured blood pressure were analyzed using restricted cubic splines.Results:A total of 362 research subjects were included, 169(46.7%) of whom were male, and their age was (69.7±7.0) years old. The participants′ self-measured systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were (129.1±16.2) mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) and (78.9±10.1) mmHg, respectively. Overall, 174 (48.1%) participants attained adequate blood pressure control. The median length of stay in Wuzhishan City was 7(6, 7) months. There was an inverted U-shaped association between snowbirds′ length of stay and blood pressure control (overall: P=0.023; nonlinearity: P=0.014), where participants with a length of stay of 7 months had the highest rate of blood pressure control. There is a U-shaped curve relationship between length of stay and systolic blood pressure (overall: P=0.001; nonlinearity: P=0.033), and a linear negative correlation with diastolic blood pressure ( β=-1.19, P=0.003). Conclusions:Compared with hypertensive snowbirds with too long or too short lengths of stay, snowbirds who stayed in Wuzhishan City for seven months have better blood pressure control, and systolic blood pressure is also lower.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of recombinant Schistosoma japonicum cystatin(rSj-Cys)against acute liver injury induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and D-GalN in mice.Methods Adult male C57BL/6J mice with or without LPS/D-GaIN-induced acute liver injury were given intraperitoneal injections of rSj-Cys or PBS 30 min after modeling(n=18),and serum and liver tissues samples were collected from 8 mice in each group 6 h after modeling.The survival of the remaining 10 mice in each group within 24 h was observed.Serum levels of ALT,AST,TNF-α and IL-6 of the mice were measured,and liver pathologies was observed with HE staining.The hepatic expressions of macrophage marker CD68,Bax,Bcl-2 and endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)-related proteins were detected using immunohistochemistry or immunoblotting,and TUNEL staining was used to detect hepatocyte apoptosis.Results The survival rates of PBS-and rSj-Cys-treated mouse models of acute liver injury were 30%and 80%at 12 h and were 10%and 60%at 24 h after modeling,respectively;no death occurred in the two control groups within 24 h.The mouse models showed significantly increased serum levels of AST,ALT,IL-6 and TNF-α and serious liver pathologies with increased hepatic expressions of CD68 and Bax,lowered expression of Bcl-2,increased hepatocyte apoptosis,and up-regulated expressions of ERS-related signaling pathway proteins GRP78,CHOP and NF-κB p-p65.Treatment of the mouse models significantly lowered the levels of AST,ALT,IL-6 and TNF-α,alleviated liver pathologies,reduced hepatic expressions of CD68,Bax,GRP78,CHOP and NF-κB p-p65,and enhanced the expression of Bcl-2.In the normal control mice,rSj-Cys injection did not produce any significant changes in these parameters compared with PBS.Conclusion rSj-Cys alleviates LPS/D-GalN-induced acute liver injury in mice by suppressing ERS,attenuating inflammation and inhibiting hepatocyte apoptosis.

Objective:To understand the status and coping strategies of death anxiety among military nurses participating in emergency public health incident response, and to provide references for improving their coping abilities.Methods:A purposive sampling and snowball sampling method were used to select 15 nurses from multiple military hospitals who supported the emergency public health incident. One-on-one semi-structured interviews were conducted, and the Colaizzi's seven-step analysis method was used to analyze the interview data.Results:Four themes were identified: the occurrence of death anxiety at different time points; the presence of significant outbreaks of death anxiety; multiple factors that help military nurses alleviate death anxiety; and the intrinsic motivation and gains of military nurses participating in the response.Conclusions:It is crucial to monitor the occurrence and changes in death anxiety among nurses throughout the entire cycle of emergency public health incidents. Managers should focus on value guidance, leverage individual positive strengths to cope with death anxiety, enhance information and social support, reinforce training on infectious disease prevention and death education, and reduce the level of death anxiety among military nurses and improve their coping abilities.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy and practicality of the Jaundice color card (JCard) as a screening tool for neonatal jaundice.Methods:Following the standards for reporting of diagnostic accuracy studies (STARD) statement, a multicenter prospective study was conducted in 9 hospitals in China from October 2019 to September 2021. A total of 845 newborns who were admitted to the hospital or outpatient department for liver function testing due to their own diseases. The inclusion criteria were a gestational age of ≥35 weeks, a birth weight of ≥2 000 g, and an age of ≤28 days. The neonate′s parents used the JCard to measure jaundice at the neonate′s cheek. Within 2 hours of the JCard measurement, transcutaneous bilirubin (TcB) was measured with a JH20-1B device and total serum bilirubin (TSB) was detected. The Pearson′s correlation analysis, Bland-Altman plots and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were used for statistic analysis.Results:Out of the 854 newborns, 445 were male and 409 were female; 46 were born at 35-36 weeks of gestational age and 808 were born at ≥37 weeks of gestational age. Additionally, 432 cases were aged 0-3 days, 236 cases were aged 4-7 days, and 186 cases were aged 8-28 days. The TSB level was (227.4±89.6) μmol/L, with a range of 23.7-717.0 μmol/L. The JCard level was (221.4±77.0) μmol/L and the TcB level was (252.5±76.0) μmol/L. Both the JCard and TcB values showed good correlation ( r=0.77 and 0.80, respectively) and agreements (96.0% (820/854) and 95.2% (813/854) of samples fell within the 95% limits of agreement, respectively) with TSB. The JCard value of 12 had a sensitivity of 0.93 and specificity of 0.75 for identifying a TSB ≥205.2?μmol/L, and a sensitivity of 1.00 and specificity of 0.35 for identifying a TSB ≥342.0?μmol/L. The TcB value of 205.2?μmol/L had a sensitivity of 0.97 and specificity of 0.60 for identifying TSB levels of 205.2 μmol/L, and a sensitivity of 1.00 and specificity of 0.26 for identifying TSB levels of 342.0 μmol/L. The areas under the ROC curve (AUC) of JCard for identifying TSB levels of 153.9, 205.2, 256.5, and 342.0 μmol/L were 0.96, 0.92, 0.83, and 0.83, respectively. The AUC of TcB were 0.94, 0.91, 0.86, and 0.87, respectively. There were both no significant differences between the AUC of JCard and TcB in identifying TSB levels of 153.9 and 205.2 μmol/L (both P>0.05). However, the AUC of JCard were both lower than those of TcB in identifying TSB levels of 256.5 and 342.0 μmol/L (both P<0.05). Conclusions:JCard can be used to classify different levels of bilirubin, but its diagnostic efficacy decreases with increasing bilirubin levels. When TSB level are ≤205.2 μmol/L, its diagnostic efficacy is equivalent to that of the JH20-1B. To prevent the misdiagnosis of severe jaundice, it is recommended that parents use a low JCard score, such as 12, to identify severe hyperbilirubinemia (TSB ≥342.0 μmol/L).

Objective To investigate the mechanism of autoinducer-2(AI-2)in relieving intestinal injury in neonatal mouse model of necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC).Methods Thirty-six 7-day-old C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into Control group(fed by mother mice),NEC group(NEC model induced by formula+lipopolysaccharide administration,hypoxia and cold stress),and NEC+AI-2 group(AI-2 solution added to the modeled formula milk),with 12 mice in each group.The body weight and survival rate of each group were recorded during the modeling period.In 3 d after modeling,the mice were euthanized,and the histopathological changes in the terminal ileum were observed using HE staining.The mRNA expression levels of aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AHR),cytochrome P450 1A1(CYP1A1),TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-22 in intestinal tissue were detected with RT-qPCR.The protein levels of AHR and CYP1A1 in intestinal tissues were measured with Western blotting.The contents of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-22 in intestinal tissues were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The survival rate of neonatal rats was significantly higher in the NEC+AI-2 group than the NEC group(91.7％vs 66.7％,P＜0.05).The NEC+AI-2 group had obviously lower intestinal pathological injury score(1.33±0.21 vs 2.67±0.33,P＜0.05),increased mRNA and protein levels of AHR and CYP1A1 in intestinal tissues(P＜0.05),decreased expression levels of pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-6 in intestinal tissues(P＜0.05),while increased expression level of anti-inflammatory factor IL-22(P＜0.05)when compared with the NEC group.Furthermore,the expression and activation of intestinal AHR were negatively correlated with the intestinal pathological injury score(P＜0.001).Conclusion AI-2 alleviates intestinal injury in neonatal mice with NEC by activating AHR to regulate inflammatory response.

The safety of decitabine as bridging treatment before allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in children with refractory hematological malignancies was evaluated.All 11 cases succeeded in hematopoietic reconstitution.The main adverse reaction was hematological toxicity.Neither did infections occur,nor drug-induced liver damage and renal impairment during decitabine administration.Most cases showed grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastrointestinal adverse events.One case was diagnosed as severe acute graft versus host disease and died of intracranial hemorrhage on day 61 after allo-HSCT.The other 10 patients survived.Decitabine bridge is a safe regimen before allo-HSCT in children with refractory hematological malignancies.

Objective: To evaluate the efficiency and safety of low intensity conditional regimen for children with Fanconi anemia (FA) receiving allogenic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation (allo-HSCT). Methods: Four patients diagnosed as Fanconi anemia were enrolled in this study. One patient received HLA-identical sibling donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, two patients underwent unrelated donor matched (UD) HSCT, and one patient received unrelated cord blood transplantation. The conditional regimen consisted of Busulfan with low dose of cyclophosphamide. Results: All 4 cases succeeded in allo-HSCT. The median time for neutrophils engraftment was 11(9-15) day, median time to platelets (PLT) engraftment was 12 (8-28) day. One case occurred with grade I of aGVHD, 1 case with hemorrhagic cystitis. No patient happened with hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD). Conclusion Low intensity of conditional regimen is efficient and safe which should be recommended for FA patients with HSCT.

Objective To explore the relationship between the rs18004197 polymorphism in the 3'-untranslated region of adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene and colorectal cancer susceptibility.Methods Firstly,we collected the peripheral venous blood of 573 colorectal cancer cases and 588 controls,and then extracted DNA from blood samples,genotyped rs1804197 polymorphism using real-time PCR and assessed its association with the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.Results There were 387 CC (67.5％),153 AC (26.7％) and 33 AA (5.8％) genotypes in the colorectal cancer cases.In the control group,there were 427 CC (72.6％),144 AC (24.5％) and 17 AA (2.9％) genotypes.The AA genotype odds ratio (OR =2.14,95％ CI:1.17-3.91,P =0.011) and the A allele frequency (P =0.011) were significant difference in case and control groups.Further subgroup analysis showed that the differences of the frequency distribution in the male (P =0.048) and non-drinking (P =0.020) groups were statistically significant.In the male group,the risk of colorectal cancer was increased by 0.41 (OR =1.41,95％ CI:1.01-1.98) for individuals bearing the A allele.In the non-drinking group,the risk of colorectal cancer was increased by 0.22 (OR =1.22,95％ CI:0.91-1.64) for individuals bearing the A allele,but the result was not statistically significant.Conclusion The rs18004197 polymorphism in the 3'-untranslated region of APC gene is related to the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.The AA genotype may increase the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.
