Cancer Research on Prevention and Treatment 2026;53(2):112-120
Objective To elucidate the mechanism by which the BANCR/miR-145-5p axis regulates the AKT-GLUT1/HK2 pathway through downstream targets Reg3A/DMBT1 to facilitate the Warburg effect in gastric cancer. Methods Expression levels of BANCR, miR-145-5p, Reg3A, and DMBT1 were detected by RT-qPCR and Western blot in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines. Dual-luciferase reporter assays confirmed targeted relationships. Glycolytic capacity was assessed via glucose uptake. Immunohistochemistry analyzed molecular expression in 60 paired clinical samples. The prognostic values of key molecules in the BANCR/miR-145-5p-Reg3A/DMBT1 axis were evaluated by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox proportional hazards regression model. Results BANCR was significantly upregulated, whereas miR-145-5p was downregulated in gastric cancer tissues, correlating with advanced TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, and poor differentiation. Reg3A and DMBT1 were identified as direct targets of miR-145-5p. Knockdown of BANCR or overexpression of miR-145-5p significantly suppressed Reg3A/DMBT1 expression, reduced AKT phosphorylation and GLUT1/HK2 levels, and inhibited glycolysis. Clinical analysis revealed positive correlations between Reg3A/DMBT1 expression and glycolytic markers, with both serving as independent risk factors for poor prognosis. Conclusion The BANCR/miR-145-5p axis activates the AKT pathway by targeting Reg3A/DMBT1, thereby promoting GLUT1/HK2/LDHA-mediated glycolysis and facilitating the Warburg effect in gastric cancer. This regulatory axis represents a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker.

OBJECTIVE To conduct a comprehensive clinical evaluation of four nucleoside (acid) analogues that have been approved and marketed in China, such as entecavir, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, tenofovir alafenamide fumarate, and tenofovir amibufenamide. METHODS According to the Guideline for the Administration of Clinical Comprehensive Evaluation of Drugs (2021 edition, trial implementation), a comprehensive search was conducted across databases including CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, as well as relevant official websites. Drug package inserts, guidelines, consensus statements, and relevant literature for the four drugs were collected and subjected to a comprehensive evaluation across six dimensions: safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness, innovativeness, suitability, and accessibility. RESULTS The scores for entecavir in terms of safety, efficacy, cost-effectiveness, innovativeness, suitability, and accessibility-along with its comprehensive score-were 13, 14, 13, 10, 18, and 6, totaling 74 points. For tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, the respective scores were 13, 17, 18, 8, 18, and 7, totaling 81 points. For tenofovir alafenamide fumarate, the scores were 14, 20, 12, 8, 18, and 5, totaling 77 points. Finally, for tenofovir amibufenamide, the scores were 10.5, 17, 10, 6, 15, and 4, totaling 62.5 points. CONCLUSIONS Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, with the highest score, is recommended as the first-line option, suitable for adults, children, and pregnant women. However, caution is warranted for potential renal impairment. Tenofovir alafenamide fumarate is recommended as a second-line alternative, particularly for individuals at high risk for bone and renal damage. Entecavir has a score similar to tenofovir alafenamide fumarate but requires dosing on an empty stomach and dose adjustment based on renal function of patients. Tenofovir amibufenamide received the lowest score and is considered a weak recommendation. The clinical application of these nucleoside (acid) analogues should be individualized based on the patient’s age, physiological status, and risk factors.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of Clonorchis sinensis human infections in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province in 2023, so as to provide insights into formulation of the clonorchiasis control strategy. Methods Congjiang County was divided into eastern, western, southern, northern and central areas according to the geographical locations, and one township was randomly sampled from each area. Then, each administrative village was randomly sampled from each township, and 200 permanent residents over 3 years of age were randomly sampled from each village. Participants’ stool samples were collected for detection of C. sinensis eggs with the Kato-Katz technique (two slides for each stool sample), and the prevalence and intensity of C. sinensis infections were calculated. In addition, the risk factors of clonorchiasis were identified among participants using a questionnaire survey. Results A total of 1 001 residents were included, and the prevalence of C. sinensis infections was 16.28% (163/1 001), with mild infections as the predominant category of infection intensity [73.01% (119/163)]. The prevalence rates of C. sinensis human infections were 30.50% (61/200), 1.50% (3/200), 30.35% (61/201), 12.50% (25/200), and 6.50% (13/200) at five survey sites, respectively (χ2 = 107.03, P < 0.05), and there was a significant difference in the prevalence of C. sinensis infections between men [22.44% (112/499)] and women [10.16% (51/502)] (χ2 = 27.71, P < 0.05). The prevalence of C. sinensis infections was relatively high among participants at ages of 60 to 70 years [26.14% (23/88)], public servants [46.15% (6/13)], and Han ethnic participants [33.33% (5/15)]. The prevalence of C. sinensis infections was higher among participants with a habit of consuming raw or un-dercooked freshwater fish and shrimp [22.06% (90/408)] than among those without the habit [12.31% (73/593)] (χ2 = 16.85, P < 0.05), and there was no significant difference in the prevalence of C. sinensis infections between participants with [13.99% (41/293)] and without separation of raw and cooked chopping boards [17.23% (122/708)] (χ2 = 1.59, P > 0.05). In addition, the prevalence of C. sinensis infections was 8.70% (2/23) and 16.46% (161/978) among participants with and without fever complicated by discomfort in the right upper abdomen during the past half year (χ2 = 0.99, P > 0.05). Conclusions The prevalence of C. sinensis human infections was high in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province in 2023, and infections predominantly occurred among young and middle-aged men. Intensified health education among high-risk residents and alteration of dietary habits of consuming raw or undercooked freshwater fish or shrimp are recommended to reduce the prevalence of C. sinensis human infections.

Clinical and Molecular Hepatology 2026;32(2):884-903
Background/Aims:
Liver transplantation (LT) following total hepatectomy is a life-saving treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The HCC recurrence after LT hinders the effectiveness of the procedure. The objective of this study is to develop a pre-operative risk stratification model based on a liquid biopsy.
Methods:
We conducted a comprehensive multi-omics study of 260 HCC patients from three centers, including clinical data, low-coverage whole-genome sequencing of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from plasma, as well as whole-exome, single-nucleus RNA, and spatial transcriptomics from matched tumor and non-tumor tissues.
Results:
We identified cfDNA-derived copy number alteration (CNA) signatures associated with post-transplant recurrence. By integrating cfDNA-derived CNA profiles with single-cell transcriptomic data, we traced recurrence-associated cfDNA to a distinct subpopulation of malignant cells within the primary tumor. These cells were embedded in a pro-metastatic microenvironment of specialized endothelial subtypes and cancer-associated fibroblasts. Notably, most recurrence-associated lesions were detectable in cfDNA prior to liver transplantation (LT). Building on these insights, we developed the ZJU Criteria based on CNA fragments and tumor markers, a pre-LT risk prediction tool that integrates conventional clinical factors with cfDNA-derived CNA signatures, and validated it using internal and independent external cohorts.
Conclusion
Our findings suggest that post-transplant recurrence commonly originates from advanced subclones that emerge late during tumor evolution. The ZJU Criteria provides an accurate, non-invasive strategy that significantly improves pre-LT risk stratification and clinical decision-making for patients with HCC.

Objective:
To assess the effect of transarterial embolization (TAE) for adhesive capsulitis (AC) by evaluating clinical outcomes and changes in inflammation using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Materials and Methods:
Patients who had undergone TAE between August 2020 and August 2023 for AC refractory to conservative treatments without any invasive procedures for more than 3 months, and had undergone baseline and 3-month post-AC follow-up contrast-enhanced MRI evaluations, were included. A suspension mixture of 500 mg imipenem/cilastatin in 10 mL of iodinated contrast agent was used for TAE. MRI results were analyzed to assess periarticular capsule/ligament inflammation. Clinical assessments included pain scores using the numeric rating scale (NRS) and functional scores using the quick disabilities of the arm, shoulder, and hand (Quick DASH) questionnaire.
Results:
Twenty-five patients (female:male, 14:11; age, 54.9 ± 7.1 years) were included. Significant reductions in average NRS pain scores as well as improvements in Quick DASH scores and range of motion, including anterior flexion and abduction, were observed at 1, 3, and 6 months after TAE (all P < 0.001). MRI analyses revealed that TAE significantly decreased the grades of axillary recess capsule enhancement, rotator interval (RI) capsule T2 signal intensity, and RI capsule enhancement (all P ≤ 0.004).
Conclusion
TAE may be an effective and safe therapeutic approach for AC refractory to conservative treatments, alleviating pain and supporting functional recovery. The observed MRI findings suggest that the effectiveness of TAE for AC may be attributed to the reduction of inflammation and the elimination of angiogenesis.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2025;32(2):197-203
Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of radiofrequency microneedling versus fire needle therapy on facial acne. Methods:Ninety patients with facial acne treated at Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from January 2022 to December 2023 were included in this study. Each patient's facial areas were divided into a radiofrequency microneedling group and a fire needle group, with treatments conducted every 2 weeks for a total of two sessions. The improvement of skin lesions on both sides was assessed using the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS), while the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the severity of pain experienced by patients. The incidence of adverse reactions, recurrence rates, and patient satisfaction were statistically analyzed. Additionally, a reflective confocal microscope was used to observe the imaging characteristics of the lesions before and after treatment. Results:At 2 and 4 weeks post-treatment, GAGS results showed that the improvement rates for skin lesions in the radiofrequency microneedling group were 83.33% (75/90) and 90.00% (81/90), respectively, both of which were significantly higher than those in the fire needle group [70.00% (63/90), 78.89% (71/90), χ2 = 4.47, 4.22, P = 0.034, 0.040]. The incidence of pigmentation in the radiofrequency microneedling group was 4.44% (4/90), which was slightly higher than that in the fire needle group [2.22% (2/90)]. However, there was no significant difference in overall incidence of adverse reactions between the radiofrequency microneedling and fire needle groups [15.56% (14/90) vs. 20.00% (18/90), χ2 = 0.60, P = 0.436]. The recurrence rate was lower in the radiofrequency microneedling group [10.00% (9/90)] compared with the fire needle group [22.22% (20/90), χ2 = 4.97, P = 0.026]. The VAS score for the radiofrequency microneedling group was (4.12 ± 1.33) during the first treatment and (3.30 ± 1.05) during the second treatment, both of which were significantly higher than those in the fire needle group [(3.67 ± 1.12), (2.88 ± 0.86), t = 2.45, 2.93, P = 0.015, 0.004]. Patient satisfaction with treatment outcomes did not significantly differ between the radiofrequency microneedling and fire needle groups [92.22% (83/90) vs. 87.78% (79/90), χ2 = 0.98, P = 0.320]. Results from the reflective confocal microscope indicated that after treatment, the hair follicles in both the radiofrequency microneedling and fire needle groups exhibited a distinct funnel shape and oval appearance, along with a noticeable reduction in funnel diameter compared with pre-treatment observations. Additionally, there was a decrease in the central amorphous material, a reduction in the size of the bright edge zone, and a decline in the infiltration of inflammatory cells, with no significant differences observed between the two groups. Conclusions:For facial inflammatory acne lesions (such as papules and pustules), both radiofrequency microneedling and fire needle treatments have shown good effectiveness. The fire needle treatment leads to less pain, while radiofrequency microneedling has a lower recurrence rate, but it carries a slightly higher risk of hyperpigmentation.
