Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(1):65-69
Objective:
To explore the effects of personality and sleep quality with psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents, so as to provide a reference basis for precise interventions of junior and senior high school students mental health.
Methods:
In October 2023, a convenience sampling method was used to select 9 034 students aged 12-17 from Shiyan City as the study subjects. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) were used to collect information on sleep quality and psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Between group comparison was conducted by using t-test and Chi-square test. Generalized linear models were employed to analyze the interaction and joint effects of personality and sleep quality on psychological distress.
Results:
The generalized linear model analysis showed that the interaction between personality and sleep quality on psychological distress was statistically significant of junior and senior high school students(effect size=0.80, P <0.01). The general linear model analysis indicated that, after adjusting for variables such as age, gender, screen time, and daily sitting time with the extroverted and good sleep quality group as the reference, the introverted and poor sleep quality group had the largest mean difference in psychological distress scores (difference=0.51, P <0.05). When stratified by sleep quality, psychological distress scores were higher in the introverted and neutral personality groups with both poor and good sleep quality compared to the extroverted group (poor sleep quality: introverted difference=3.71, neutral difference=1.14; good sleep quality: introverted difference=2.23, neutral difference=0.57, all P < 0.05). When stratified by personality, psychological distress scores were higher in the poor sleep quality groups for introverted, neutral, and extroverted individuals compared to their good sleep quality counterparts (differences=8.66, 7.83, 7.34, all P < 0.05 ).
Conclusions
Personality and sleep quality have interactive and joint effects on psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Personalized psychological interventions should be developed based on personality and sleep quality.

Iron overload refers to the pathological state in which the iron content in the body exceeds physiological requirements,Resultsing in the deposition of iron in the organs.Iron overload mouse models are an important tool for the study of iron metabolism disorders and related diseases. This paper summarizes the commonly used modeling method used in the construction of iron overload mouse models, which mainly comprise two categories.(1)exogenous iron overload mouse models, constructed through supplementation with extraenteral iron(injected iron)or intraintestinal iron(oral iron);(2)spontaneous iron overload models, constructed by screening for specific mouse lines or modifying iron metabolism-related genes. The method involving extraenteral iron supplementation has a short modeling duration and a high success rate, making it suitable for single and composite iron overload models. However, the high iron absorption rate may cause toxic reactions;thus, the optimal dose needs to be determined in advance.By contrast, intraintestinal iron supplementation is simple and safe, but has a low iron absorption rate and a long modeling duration. The spontaneous iron overload model is mainly used for specific genetic research studies, which are complex and involve high costs. The various modeling method offer diverse research pathways, spanning from molecular to systemic levels. This diversity is conducive to gaining an in-depth understanding of the pathological mechanisms underlying iron overload and provides an experimental basis for the development of new treatments.

OBJECTIVE:
To design a portable respiratory device for transporting premature infants and explore its application effect in the in-hospital transportation of extremely premature infants in primary hospitals.
METHODS:
A prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted. The extremely premature infants born and transferred to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with oxygen therapy support from May to October in 2023 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group. The infants in the control group received respiratory support and in-hospital transportation using a traditional T-combination resuscitator connected to pure oxygen, and those in the observation group used a portable premature infant transport respiratory device designed and manufactured by medical staff to provide respiratory support and implement in-hospital transportation. The respiratory device for transporting premature infants is made of 304 stainless steel material, mainly consisting of a T-combination resuscitator, an air oxygen mixer, an air tank, a pure oxygen cylinder, a pressure reducing valve, a telescopic rod, a tray, a hook, a bottom plate, and four moving wheels, which can achieve precise control of the fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) during transportation. The achievement rate of first-time target pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2, achieving a target SpO2 of 0.90-0.95 was considered as meeting the standard) and arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) after being transferred to the NICU, as well as the manpower expenditure and time required for transportation of pediatric patients between the two groups were observed.
RESULTS:
A total of 73 extremely premature infants were enrolled, including 38 in the control group and 35 in the observation group. There was no significant difference in the gender, gestational age at birth, birth weight, mode of delivery, Apgar score at 1 minute and 5 minutes after birth, and oxygen therapy during the transportation between the two groups. The achievement rate of first-time target SpO2 after NICU in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [94.29% (33/35) vs. 26.32% (10/38), P < 0.05], the PaO2 control range was better [mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa): 85.50±6.36 vs. 103.00±2.83, P < 0.05], manpower expenditure and time required for transportation were significantly reduced [manpower expenditure (number): 2.14±0.35 vs. 3.17±0.34, time required for transportation (minutes): 10.42±0.76 vs. 15.54±0.34, both P < 0.05].
CONCLUSIONS
The portable respiratory device for transporting premature infants is used for respiratory support during the transportation of extremely premature infants in primary hospitals. It can improve the achievement rate of target SpO2, control PaO2 within the target range, and avoid hypoxia or hyperoxia during transportation. The breathing apparatus is compact, easy to carry, can save labor resources and time during transport, is cost-effective, and is suitable for widespread application in primary hospitals.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2025;29(20):4286-4294
BACKGROUND:The extracellular matrix is a complex network structure, which not only builds physical support for tissue cells, but also plays an important regulatory role in cell survival, proliferation, and death.Abnormal changes in the biochemical and biomechanical properties of the extracellular matrix can significantly affect the proliferation, migration, immune evasion, and treatment resistance of tumor cells.Stiffness is an important mechanical property of the extracellular matrix, and abnormalities in matrix stiffness are closely related to tumor progression.OBJECTIVE:By reviewing the mechanism of extracellular matrix sclerosis, the impact of high stiffness matrix on tumor progression, and the latest research progress in the treatment of cancer based on reducing matrix stiffness,to deeply understand the mechanical properties of the extracellular matrix, improve the understanding of the complex mechanism of tumor progression, and provide new ideas and directions for tumor treatment.METHODS:"Extracellular matrix function, extracellular matrix stiffness, collagen deposition cross-linking,extracellular matrix stiffness therapy, immunotherapy"were used as the search terms in Chinese and English.Relevant literature published from January 2016 to June 2024 was searched in CNKI,PubMed,and WanFang databases, and 80 articles were finally included for review.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Deposition and excessive cross-linking of collagen and elastin in the extracellular matrix leads to matrix remodeling, which in turn increases matrix stiffness. This sclerosis activates pro-cancer signaling pathways such as cyclin-D1,Rho/ROCK,p-PXN-Rac1-YAP,and STAT3/p-STAT3,promotes malignant behaviors such as cancer cell proliferation, metastasis, tumor microangiogenesis and immune escape, and accelerates tumor progression.(2)Reducing the deposition and cross-linking of matrix proteins can reduce matrix stiffness, which cannot only inhibit the activation of multiple cancer-promoting signaling pathways, but also enhance the penetration and delivery of drugs at tumor sites, which is a new strategy for cancer treatment.(3)At present, drugs based on matrix degradation to reduce tumor stiffness are under development, and a few drugs have entered the clinical trial stage, which are expected to provide a new powerful weapon for tumor treatment.
