Objective:
To explore the effects of a zerotime exercise (ZTEx) intervention on physical activity levels and sedentary behavior among college students, providing evidence for improving physical activity and reducing sedentary habits.
Methods:
In September 2023, 45 sedentary college students from a university in Fuzhou were recruited and randomly assigned to either the ZTEx group (23 students) or the control group (22 students) according to a random number table method. ZTEx group received two ZTEx focus group meetings for 3 months, while the control group received safety and health education. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire and a threeaxis accelerometer were used to evaluate the sedentary and physical activity levels of college students. At the same time, evaluations related to physical health and psychological questionnaires were completed. Mixed effects analysis of variance and nonparametric tests were used to statistically analyze the physical health, psychological questionnaire, and sedentary and physical activity data of the college students.
Results:
Postintervention, the ZTEx group showed significant improvements in the duration of lowintensity physical activity [pretest(1 492.78±369.50)min; posttest(1 918.93±354.63)min] and the number of sedentary interruptions [pretest(45.26±13.69)times; posttest(73.78±16.74)times]; grip strength [pretest(28.77±9.23)kg; posttest(31.78±8.00)kg]; sitting up continuously for 30 seconds [pretest(22.52±4.90)times; posttest(26.96±4.87)times]; general selfefficacy [pretest(26.52±4.14)points; posttest(32.96±5.24)points]; body composition summary [pretest(66.44±4.83)points; posttest(72.62±4.88)points]; and psychological composition summary [pretest(61.21±9.88)points; posttest(63.98±9.57)points], while reducing sedentary time [pretest(3 694.28±687.56)min; posttest(2 865.90±493.81)min] in the past 7 days, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The control group exhibited no significant changes(P>0.05).
Conclusion
ZTEx effectively improve the lowintensity physical activity, increases sedentary breaks, and reduces prolonged sitting among college students, fostering healthier habits and improving physical/mental wellbeing.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2025;29(2):419-429
BACKGROUND:Muscle aging is closely related to various epigenetic changes, and exercise has a certain regulatory effect on these epigenetic changes. However, the specific mechanism is not fully understood. OBJECTIVE:To review the epigenetic mechanisms of skeletal muscle and how exercise can improve skeletal muscle aging and promote adaptive changes in muscle through these epigenetic mechanisms, aiming to provide a more comprehensive understanding of skeletal muscle aging and disease mechanisms. METHODS:During the period from June 1st to August 1st,2023,literature searches were conducted for relevant literature published from database inception to August 2023 in databases including Web of Science,PubMed,CNKI,WanFang, and VIP.The search terms used included"skeletal muscle,""muscle,""aging,""older adult,""aging,""exercise,""physical exercise,""epigenetic,"and"epigenetics"in Chinese as well as"skeletal muscle, muscle, aging, older adult, senescence, age, exercise, sports, physical activity, epigenetic, epigenetics"in English.Boolean logic operators were used to connect the search terms for retrieval, and corresponding strategies were developed.According to the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria,70 eligible articles were selected. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Epigenetics refers to the phenomenon where gene expression and function are regulated without changes in gene sequence, and epigenetic changes in skeletal muscle are an important field. The epigenetic mechanisms of skeletal muscle play an important role in muscle aging, mainly involving DNA methylation, histone modification, regulation of non-coding RNAs,chromatin remodeling, changes in mitochondrial function and expression changes of aging-related genes.Exercise significantly regulates the epigenetics of skeletal muscle, including promoting DNA methylation, muscle histone modification, regulating miRNA expression, and regulating lncRNA expression, regulating muscle factors(such as interleukin-6),regulating mitochondrial function(such as peroxisome proliferators-activated receptors γ co-activator 1α).Future studies are recommended for long-term,cross-diverse population-based exercise interventions;the application of multi-omics techniques such as proteomics and metabolomics;strengthening the understanding of epigenetic changes at the single-cell level;cross-species comparative studies as well as human clinical trials for the translation of animal model findings to humans;strategies for combining exercise and pharmacological interventions to assess their synergistic effects;and epigenetic studies of crosstalk interactions between skeletal muscle and different organs.

By analyzing the current application of multi-modal data in the diagnosis of gastric "inflammation-cancer" transformation, this study explored the feasibility and strategies for constructing a disease-syndrome integrated diagnosis and treatment system. Based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) phenomics, we proposed utilizing multi-modal data from literature research, cross-sectional studies, and cohort follow-ups, combined with artificial intelligence technology, to establish a multi-dimensional diagnostic and treatment index system. This approach aims to uncover the complex pathogenesis and transformation patterns of gastric "inflammation-cancer" progression. Additionally, by dynamically collecting TCM four-diagnostic information and modern medical diagnostic information through a long-term follow-up system, we developed three major modules including information extraction, multi-modal phenotypic modeling, and information output, to make it enable real-world clinical data-driven long-term follow-up and treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis. This system can provide technical support for clinical diagnosis, treatment evaluation, and research, while also offering insights and methods for intelligent TCM diagnosis.

Hepatolenticular degeneration, also known as Wilson disease (WD), is a hereditary disease caused by mutations in the ATP7B gene, leading to copper metabolism disorders. Gene mutations result in impaired synthesis of copper-binding protein, and abnormal excretion of copper through bile leads to pathological deposition of copper in various organs, ultimately causing multi-organ damage. The insidious onset and low specificity of symptoms make it difficult to diagnose this disease. On the basis of existing studies and the theory of latent toxin, this paper proposes that latent toxin in kidney collaterals is the main pathogenesis of renal injury in WD. It is pointed out that health Qi deficiency and latent pathogen are the premises for the occurrence of this disease, and the transformation of latent pathogen into toxin is the ley pathological process. Toxin damaging kidney collaterals is the ultimate result. According to the pathogenesis, this paper proposes the treatment principle of reinforcing healthy Qi and resolving toxin and treatment based on syndrome differentiation. This review provides new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of renal injury in WD with traditional Chinese medicine.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Gandouling decoction combined with neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in the treatment of dysphagia in Wilson disease (WD) with combined phlegm and stasis. MethodsA total of 80 WD patients with dysphagia due to combined phlegm and stasis treated in the Department of Encephalopathy, the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 40 patients in each group. In addition, 40 healthy volunteers were recruited as the normal group. The control group was treated with basic copper drainage combined with NMES. The observation group was treated with Gandouling Decoction on the basis of the therapy in the control group. Each course of treatment lasted for 8 days, and the patients were treated for a total of 4 courses. All subjects underwent video fluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) before and after treatment. During the examination, contrast agents with 4 different characters were used for the swallowing action, and the passing time was recorded. The TCM syndrome score, water swallow test score, standard swallowing assessment (SSA) score, and 24-h urinary copper level before and after treatment were analyzed. ResultsWhen performing VFSS, the passing time of contrast agents of different characters in the oral stage was longer in the WD group than in the normal group (P<0.01), while it had no significant difference in the pharyngeal stage. After treatment, the passing time in the oral stage shortened in the control and observation groups (P<0.01), and the observation group outperformed the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, both the control and observation groups showed declines in TCM syndrome score and SSA score (P<0.01) and an increase in water swallow test score (P<0.01), and the changes were more obvious in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.01). In addition, the treatment in the control and observation groups elevated the 24-h urinary copper level (P<0.01), and the elevation in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group (P<0.01). Neither group showed obvious adverse reaction. ConclusionGandouling decoction combined with NMES can significantly ameliorate dysphagia in WD patients with the syndrome of combined phlegm and stasis regarding the TCM syndrome score, water swallow test score, and SSA score, demonstrating definite clinical efficacy and high safety.

Objective:To investigate whether 6-shogaol (6-SH) alleviates oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R)-induced neuronal autophagy and calcium overload by promoting the expression of microRNA-26a-5p (miR-26a-5p) and inhibiting death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1), and to explore its potential mechanisms. Methods:Primary cultured logarithmic growth phase mouse hippocampal neurons HT22 cells were taken and cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) was used to detect cell viability, searching for the optimal concentration of Na 2S 2O 4. HT22 cells were divided into blank control group (NC group), OGD/R group (sugar-free culture medium + 10 mmol/L Na 2S 2O 4 treatment for 1.5 hours followed by normal culture medium for 4 hours), 6-SH intervention group (cultured with 10 μmol/L 6-SH for 4 hours after OGD), negative control inhibitor pretreatment group (transfected with negative control inhibitor for 48 hours followed by OGD, then cultured with 6-SH for 4 hours), and miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group (transfected with miR-26a-5p inhibitor for 48 hours followed by OGD, then cultured with 6-SH for 4 hours). Cell viability of each group was detected by CCK-8 method; cell ultrastructure was observed under transmission electron microscopy; real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the gene expressions of DAPK1 and miR-26a-5p; molecular docking were used to verify the interaction between 6-SH and miR-26a-5p; dual-luciferase assay was used to verify the targeting relationship between DAPK1 and miR-26a-5p; flow cytometry was used to determine the levels of intracellular Ca 2+; Western blotting was used to detect the protein expressions of phosphorylated-glutamate receptor 2B (p-NMDAR2B) Ser1303, DAPK1, autophagy related protein Beclin1, light chain 3 (LC3), and p-DAPK1 Ser308; immunofluorescence was used to detect the expression of LC3 and Beclin1. Results:The results of the CCK-8 assay showed that the cell viability of the 6-SH intervention group was significantly increased compared to the OGD/R group, while the cell viability of the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group was significantly decreased compared to the 6-SH intervention group. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the number of autophagosomes in the 6-SH intervention group was significantly reduced compared to the OGD/R group, while the number of autophagosomes in the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group was significantly increased compared to the 6-SH intervention group. RT-qPCR results showed that compared with the OGD/R group, the expression of miR-26a-5p was significantly upregulated and the expression of DAPK1 mRNA was significantly downregulated in the 6-SH intervention group; compared with the 6-SH intervention group, the expression of miR-26a-5p was significantly downregulated and the expression of DAPK1 mRNA was significantly upregulated in the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group. Molecular docking verified the interaction between 6-SH and miR-26a-5p. Dual-luciferase reporter gene assay showed that compared with the negative control group, mmu-miR-26a-5p significantly downregulated the luciferase expression of m-DAPK1-3UTR-WT, indicating a binding interaction between them. Flow cytometry results showed that compared with the OGD/R group, the level of intracellular Ca 2+ was significantly decreased in the 6-SH intervention group; compared with the 6-SH intervention group, the level of Ca 2+ was significantly increased in the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group. Western blotting results showed that compared with the OGD/R group, the protein expressions of p-NMDAR2B Ser1303, DAPK1, Beclin1, and LC3 were significantly decreased in the 6-SH intervention group (p-NMDAR2B Ser1303/β-actin: 2.34±0.27 vs. 4.78±0.39, DAPK1/β-actin: 1.40±0.13 vs. 2.37±0.21, Beclin1/β-actin: 2.61±0.32 vs. 4.32±0.29, LC3/β-actin: 2.52±0.45 vs. 5.09±0.18, all P < 0.05), while the protein expression of p-DAPK1 Ser308 was significantly increased (p-DAPK1 Ser308/β-actin: 0.66±0.09 vs. 0.40±0.02, P < 0.05); compared with the 6-SH intervention group, the protein expressions of p-NMDAR2B Ser1303, DAPK1, Beclin1, and LC3 were significantly increased in the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group (p-NMDAR2B Ser1303/β-actin: 4.08±0.14 vs. 2.34±0.27, DAPK1/β-actin: 1.96±0.15 vs. 1.40±0.13, Beclin1/β-actin: 3.92±0.31 vs. 2.61±0.32, LC3/β-actin: 4.33±0.33 vs. 2.52±0.45, all P < 0.05), while the expression of p-DAPK1 Ser308 protein was significantly decreased (p-DAPK1 Ser308/β-actin: 0.33±0.12 vs. 0.66±0.09, P < 0.05); immunofluorescence staining showed that compared with the OGD/R group, the fluorescence intensity of LC3 and Beclin1 was significantly decreased in the 6-SH intervention group; compared with the 6-SH intervention group, the fluorescence intensity of LC3 and Beclin1 was significantly increased in the miR-26a-5p inhibitor pretreatment group. Conclusion:6-SH can alleviate neuronal damage by regulating miR-26a-5p/DAPK1 to reduce autophagy and calcium overload in cells.

Objectives:To investigate the intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)evaluated efficacy of the"L-sandwich"technique in the percutaneous coronary intervention treatment of true bifurcation lesions of coronary artery. Methods:Ninety-nine patients with true bifurcation lesions(medina type 1.1.1)of the coronary arteries were divided into the L-sandwich group(n=38),the double-stent group(n=32),and the main vessel(MV)single-stent with side branch(SB)drug-coated balloon(DCB)only group(n=29).The primary study endpoint was the loss of late lumen area(LLAL)in the MV,SB ostium and SB shaft at 12 months, and the secondary endpoints were minimum lumen area(MLA)at each site and major adverse cardiac events(MACE)at 12 months. As this is a proof-of-concept study, statistical analyses were performed in the as-treated(AT)analysis set. Results:At 12-month follow-up,there was no statistically significant difference in the MV LLAL among patients in the"L-sandwich"technique group, the double stent technique group, and the MV DES with SB DCB technique group([0.12±0.42]mm2 vs.[0.07±0.38]mm2 vs.[-0.01±0.31]mm2,P=0.419).Similarly,there was no statistically significant difference in the LLAL at the SB shaft([-0.11±0.45]mm2 vs.[-0.10±0.28]mm2 vs.[0.24±1.04]mm2,P=0.078],with the maximum LLAL observed in the double stent technique group and the minimum in the"L-sandwich"technique group([-0.48±0.78]mm2 vs.[0.45±0.64]mm2 vs.[0.14±1.37]mm2,P<0.001).The MV MLA was similar among the three groups([8.39±1.65]mm2 vs.[8.28±0.98]mm2 vs.[8.02±1.37]mm2,P=0.565),while the maximum MLA at the SB ostium was observed in the double stent technique group and the minimum in the MV DES with SB DCB group([5.08±0.74]mm2 vs.[5.63±0.80]mm2 vs.[3.57±1.35]mm2,P<0.001).In terms of MLA at the SB shaft,the"L-sandwich"technique group was similar to the double stent technique group, while the MV DES with SB DCB group exhibited the minimum MLA([5.94±0.72]mm2 vs.[5.86±0.59]mm2 vs.[3.74±1.07]mm2,P<0.001).Two patients in the double stent technique group underwent target vessel revascularization, there was no MACE in the other two groups(P=0.118). Conclusions:The"L-sandwich"technique is safe and feasible for the treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions.Compared with double-stent group, the SB ostium has a smaller LLAL at the time of review, and there is no significant difference in the MLA of each site, and the operation steps are significantly simplified.Use of the"L-sandwich"technique is associated with a better branching benefit compared with MV single-stent group.The"L-sandwich"technique could be used as a remedial procedure for severe entrapment in the setting of branching with DCB alone.
