BACKGROUND:Research on carbon nanomaterials in the biomedical field is booming,and related scientific research results are increasing year by year.However,visualization analysis of the annual number of publications,the research status of countries,institutions,authors,and research hotspots and trends in this field is relatively scarce. OBJECTIVE:To present the research status of carbon nanomaterials in biomedical field,reveal the main research subjects,explore the research hotspots and development trends,and provide a reference for the future development of this field. METHODS:The core data set of Web of Science was used as the literature source to search the relevant researches on carbon nanomaterials in the biomedical field from 2012 to 2023.The knowledge map was generated by using Citespace software with countries,institutions,authors,keywords,and co-citations as nodes and for visualization analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)A total of 2 932 papers were included in this study.In the medical field,carbon nanomaterials had a large number of papers and a fast growth rate.The United States has a large number of papers;China is an emerging force in this field,although the number of papers is the largest,but the level of research and influence need to be improved.The Chinese Academy of Sciences is the largest cooperative network institution,which mainly targets domestic institutions and lacks cooperation with well-known foreign institutions.(2)Keyword analysis displays that the green synthesis method and application of displaying carbon points have been the focus of research,followed by the new method of combining carbon nanomaterials with cancer phototherapy and immunotherapy,the key direction of future research.(3)The dynamic development trend of co-citations suggests that tissue engineering is a hot research topic of carbon nanomaterials in the field of biomedicine,mainly including the research of carbon nanomaterials for the repair and regeneration of heart and nerve tissue and as a bio-ink additive for 3D and 4D bioprinting.(4)In the future,with the development of the biomedical field in the direction of precision and treatment,researchers should speed up the creation of carbon-based systems formed by the combination of scientific and effective carbon nanomaterials with science and technology,new polymers or organic molecules,and new therapeutic methods,so as to give full play to the maximum effect of carbon nanomaterials.

The fungal bioluminescence pathway (FBP) catalyzes the oxidation of endogenous caffeic acid to produce green bioluminescence through an enzymatic cascade. Genetic engineering of FBP into plants creates autoluminescent specimens that circumvent the substrate limitations of conventional reporter systems. These transgenic plants serve dual functions as aesthetic displays and versatile biosensing platforms, enabling applications in real-time gene expression monitoring, continuous environmental surveillance, and non-invasive bioimaging, offering novel opportunities for horticultural production, environmental conservation, and bioengineering applications. This review synthesizes current advances in plant FBP engineering and explores how machine learning approaches can optimize autoluminescent phenotypes, thereby accelerating innovation in agricultural biotechnology, environmental sensing, and synthetic biology applications.

Objective:To observe the changes of pelvic floor structure and function in female vaginal laxity after CO 2 fractional laser transvaginal treatment. Methods:This study reviewed the improvement of pelvic floor structure and function after CO 2 fractional laser transvaginal treatment in 28 female patients [aged 26-59 (37.5±8.3) years] with vaginal laxity syndrome seen at the Department of Dermatology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University from March 2020 to November 2021. A total of 28 female patients with vaginal laxity syndrome underwent intravaginal treatment by CO 2 fractional laser instrument once/month for 3 times. The clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated according to the pre- and post-treatment transverse vaginal diameter, FSFI score of female sexual function, VHIS score of vaginal environment, vaginal tactile imaging system (VTI), pelvic ultrasound and MRI, tissue biopsy, patient satisfaction, pain score, and postoperative adverse effects. Results:Twenty-one of the twenty-eight female patients with vaginal laxity syndrome showed significant improvement in symptoms related to vaginal laxity syndrome after intravaginal treatment with CO 2 fractional laser therapy. All patients showed improvement in all indexes before and 1 month after treatments the mean vaginal transverse diameter decreased from (3.00±0.39) fingers to (2.71±0.40) fingers ( P<0.05), VHIS increased from (17.12±3.97) to (21.69±3.61) ( P<0.05), FSFI score improved from (23.11±3.70) to (27.43±5.33) ( P<0.05), and VTI examination showed that vaginal muscle strength and elasticity were improved to different degrees, and there was a statistical difference compared with that before treatment (total contractility of the anterior vaginal wall: t=26.23, P<0.001; total contractility of posterior vaginal wall: t=39.02, P<0.001; the mean contractility of the anterior vaginal wall: t=17.92, P<0.001; the mean contractility of the posterior vaginal wall: t=22.57, P<0.001). At the same time, questionnaire score of international consultation on incontinent questionnaire short form (ICI-Q-SF scale) of 13 patients with combined mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence showed a statistically significant decrease compared with those before treatment (8.97±2.99 before treatment and (7.18±1.79) one month after treatment; t=2.792, P<0.01). Pelvic ultrasound and magnetic resonance examination indicated a tightening of the vaginal wall structure, and pelvic ultrasound observed a significant decrease in bladder neck mobility and a significant decrease in vesicourethral rotation angle. Vaginal tissue biopsy indicated an increase in the thickness of the vaginal mucosa and an increase in the number and more regular arrangement of collagen fibers after treatment. All patients had high treatment satisfaction and there were no adverse effects such as infection and bleeding during the treatment. Conclusions:Transvaginal CO 2 fractional laser treatment can improve the pelvic floor structure and function around the vagina, treat female vaginal laxity syndrome, stress urinary incontinence and female sexual dysfunction, with significant clinical efficacy and good safety.

【Objective】 To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravaginal fractional superpulse CO2 laser in the treatment of mild to moderate female stress urinary incontinence (SUI), so as to provide reference for the treatment options for female SUI. 【Methods】 A total of 41 female mild-to-moderate SUI patients confirmed at the Department of Urology, The First Affiliated Hospital, Air Force Medical University, during Aug.2019 and Nov.2020 were involved.All patients received 3 intravaginal fractional superpulse CO2 laser treatments (1/month).The improvement of urinary incontinence symptoms after treatment was evaluated with International Consultation on Incontinent Questionnaire Short Form (ICI-Q-SF).The motion of bladder neck and rotation angle of bladder and urethra were measured with pelvic ultrasound before and after treatment.The therapeutic effects, pain and patients’ satisfaction were evaluated, and adverse reactions such as bleeding, infection and scar were observed. 【Results】 Three months after treatment, urinary incontinence symptoms improved to varying degrees, the ICI-Q-SF score decreased, the motion of bladder neck [ (28.70±3.11) mm vs.(19.10±4.54) mm] and the vesicourethral rotation angle [(52.78°±15.79°) vs.(41.56°±13.24°)] significantly decreased (P<0.05).The total effective rate was 100.0%.No patients complained severe pain during treatment.All patients were satisfied with the treatment.No adverse reactions such as bleeding, infection or scar occurred. 【Conclusion】 Intravaginal fractional superpulse CO2 laser is effective and safe in the treatment of mild to moderate female SUI, but the long-term efficacy still needs further observation.

Objective:To investigate the current situation of the use of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) for portal hypertension, which should aid the development of TIPS in China.Methods:The China Portal Hypertension Alliance (CHESS) initiated this study that comprehensively investigated the basic situation of TIPS for portal hypertension in China through network research. The survey included the following: the number of surgical cases, main indications, the development of Early-TIPS, TIPS for portal vein cavernous transformation, collateral circulation embolization, intraoperative portal pressure gradient measurement, commonly used stent types, conventional anticoagulation and time, postoperative follow-up, obstacles, and the application of domestic instruments.Results:According to the survey, a total of 13 527 TIPS operations were carried out in 545 hospitals participating in the survey in 2021, and 94.1% of the hospital had the habit of routine follow-up after TIPS. Most hospitals believed that the main indications of TIPS were the control of acute bleeding (42.6%) and the prevention of rebleeding (40.7%). 48.1% of the teams carried out early or priority TIPS, 53.0% of the teams carried out TIPS for the cavernous transformation of the portal vein, and 81.0% chose routine embolization of collateral circulation during operation. Most of them used coils and biological glue as embolic materials, and 78.5% of the team routinely performed intraoperative portal pressure gradient measurements. In selecting TIPS stents, 57.1% of the hospitals woulel choose Viator-specific stents, 57.2% woulel choose conventional anticoagulation after TIPS, and the duration of anticoagulation was between 3-6 months (55.4%). The limitation of TIPS surgery was mainly due to cost (72.3%) and insufficient understanding of doctors in related departments (77.4%). Most teams accepted the domestic instruments used in TIPS (92.7%).Conclusions:This survey shows that TIPS treatment is an essential part of treating portal hypertension in China. The total number of TIPS cases is far from that of patients with portal hypertension. In the future, it is still necessary to popularize TIPS technology and further standardize surgical indications, routine operations, and instrument application.

Objective To retrospectively analyze the clinical features and prognosis of patients with massive pulmonary hemoptysis.Methods Patients with massive hemoptysis,who received bronchial artery embolization at authors'hospital between 2016 and 2018,were collected for this study.According to the gender,the patients were divided into female group(n=68)and male group(n=195).The primary disease,age at onset,length of hospital stay,bleeding site,embolization agent used,recurrence rate of hemoptysis,and mortality were calculated.SPSS.27.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between the age of onset,length of hospital stay,gender,recurrence of hemoptysis and death.RStudio4.2.2 software was used to make a normogram of patient's recurrent hemoptysis and death.Results The primary diseases in the top three were bacterial infection,bronchiectasis and old pulmonary tuberculosis,the incidences of them in the female group were 50％,22％and 15％respectively and in the male group were 43％,21％and 21％respectively.The mean age at onset in the female group was(54.6±16.8)years and in the male group was(60.1±14.0)years.The proportions of the bleeding site in the left lung,right lung,or both lungs in the female group were 6％,21％and 73％respectively and in the male group were 17％,21％and 62％respectively.The proportions of the used embolization agent of 350-560 μm PVA particles and 300-500 μm microspheres in the female group were 31％and 24％respectively and in the male group were 50％and 17％respectively.In the patients who had recurrent hemoptysis,the primary diseases in the top three were old pulmonary tuberculosis,pulmonary bacterial infection and bronchiectasis,the incidences of them in the female group were 33％,33％and 33％respectively and in the male group were 44％,34％and 10％respectively.The causes of death were much complex,in which pulmonary infection played an important role.Conclusion In patients with massive pulmonary hemoptysis,there are differences in the primary disease,bleeding site,applicable embolization agent,recurrence rate of hemoptysis,and mortality between females and males,in addition,the age is an independent influencing factor for recurrent hemoptysis and death.(J Intervent Radiol,2024,33:636-641)

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether 3D-printed artificial vertebral body can reduce prosthesis subsidence rate for patients with cervical chordomas, through comparing the rates of prosthesis subsidence between 3D printing artificial vertebral body and titanium mesh for anterior spinal reconstruction after total spondylectomy. METHODS: This was a retrospective analysis of patients who underwent surgical treatment for cervical chordoma at our hospital from March 2005 to September 2019. There were nine patients in the group of 3D artificial vertebral body (3D group), and 15 patients in the group of titanium mesh cage (Mesh group). The patients' characteristics and treatment data were extracted from the medical records, including age, gender, CT hounsfield unit of cervical vertebra and surgical information, such as the surgical segments, time and blood loss of surgery, frequency and degree of prosthesis subsidence after surgery. Radiographic observations of prosthesis subsidence during the follow-up, including X-rays, CT, and magnetic resonance imaging were also collected. SPSS 22.0 was used to analysis the data. RESULTS: There was no significant difference between the two groups in gender, age, CT hounsfield unit, surgical segments, time of surgery, blood loss of posterior surgery and total blood loss. Blood loss of anterior surgery was 700 (300, 825) mL in 3D group and 1 500 (750, 2 800) mL in Mesh group (P < 0.05). The prosthesis subsidence during the follow-up, 3 months after surgery, there was significant difference between the two groups in mild prosthesis subsidence (P < 0.05). The vertebral height of the 3D group decreased less than 1 mm in eight cases (no prosthesis subsidence) and more than 1 mm in one case (mild prosthesis subsidence). The vertebral height of the Mesh group decreased less than 1 mm in five cases (no prosthesis subsidence), and more than 1 mm in eight cases (mild prosthesis subsidence). Two patients did not have X-rays in 3 months after surgery. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the prosthesis subsidence rate at the end of 12 months (P < 0.01). The vertebral height of eight cases in the 3D group decreased less than 1 mm (no prosthesis subsidence) and one case more than 3 mm (severe prosthesis subsidence). Four of the 15 cases in the Mesh group decreased less than 1 mm (no prosthesis subsidence), two cases more than 1 mm (mild prosthesis subsidence), and nine cases more than 3 mm (severe prosthesis subsidence). There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the prosthesis subsidence rate at the end of 24 months (P < 0.01). The vertebral height of seven cases in the 3D group decreased less than 1 mm (no prosthesis subsidence), one case more than 3 mm (severe prosthesis subsidence), and one case died with tumor. One case in the Mesh group decreased less than 1 mm (no prosthesis subsidence), one case more than 1 mm (mild prosthesis subsidence), 11 case more than 3 mm (severe prosthesis subsidence), one case died with tumor and one lost the follow-up. Moreover, at the end of 12 months and 24 months, there was significant difference between the two groups in severe prosthesis subsidence rate (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION 3D-printed artificial vertebral body for anterior spinal reconstruction after total spondylectomy for patients with cervical chordoma can provide reliable spinal stability, and reduce the incidence of prosthesis subsidence after 2-year follow-up.

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy between reservation and sacrifice of remnants in the footprint area in arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tear.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 32 patients with rotator cuff tear plus remnants in the footprint area (2 cm < tear size <5 cm) who had been admitted to Department of Sports Medicine, The People's Hospital of Northern Jiangsu from May 2020 to July 2021. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to reservation or sacrifice of remnants in the footprint area in arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tear. In the remnant-reservation group (16 cases): 5 males and 11 females with an age of (61.8±9.9) years, 9 left and 7 right shoulders affected, and (3.7±1.1) cm in size of rotator cuff tear; in the remnant-sacrifice group (16 cases): 4 males and 12 females with an age of (61.3±8.8) years, 8 left and 8 right shoulders affected, and (3.9±0.9) cm in size of rotator cuff tear. The 2 groups were compared in terms of visual analogue scale (VAS), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, Constant-Murley shoulder function score (Constant score), and range of motion of the affected shoulder before surgery, 3 months after surgery and at the last follow-up. The ratio of bilateral abductor muscle strengths (affected side/healthy side) was analyzed and compared between the 2 groups, and the healing of the rotator cuff was evaluated by MRI at the last follow-up.Results:The 2 groups were comparable because there were no significant differences in all their preoperative demographic data ( P>0.05). The 32 patients were followed up for (14.3±3.5) months after surgery. At 3 months after surgery, the VAS score in the remnant-reservation group [1.0 (0.0,1.0) point] was significantly lower than that in the remnant-sacrifice group [1.0 (1.0,1.0) point] ( P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the 2 groups in ASES score, Constant score or range of motion of the affected shoulder ( P>0.05). At the last follow-up, the ASES score, forward flexion, abduction and ratio of bilateral abductor muscle strengths (affected side/healthy side) in the remnant-reservation group [(96.1±4.8) points, 170.0 (170.0,170.0)°, 160.0 (160.0,170.0)°, and 85.5%±13.8%]were significantly better than those in the remnant-sacrifice group [(91.4±5.9) points, 160.0 (160.0,170.0)°, 150.0 (140.0,155.0)°, and 72.6%±16.9%] ( P < 0.05), but there were no statistically significant differences between the 2 groups in VAS score, Constant score, neutral external rotation angle, or body-side internal rotation ( P>0.05). The Sugaya grading for MRI rotator cuff healing was significantly different between the 2 groups at the last follow-up ( P<0.05). Conclusion:In arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tear, reservation of remnants in the footprint area can significantly relieve postoperative shoulder pain, and has obvious advantages in restoration of shoulder forward flexion, abduction and abductor muscle strength, leading to better healing of the rotator cuff and the large nodule than the remnant-sacrifice technique.

Objective:To investigate Helicobactor pylori (H. pylori) infection status and interfamilial transmission pattern in Zhengzhou area. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2020 to march 2021, among 731 individual from 266 families randomly selected from 9 communities of Zhengzhou area. H. pylori infection status was determined by serum antibody tests, and 13C-urea breath test was performed in the previously eradicated population to clarify the current infection status. The individual and familial infection rate, infection status for couples and children and adolescent were analyzed. Results:Among 731 individuals from 266 families, 397 of them were H. pylori positive. The individual infection rate was 54.31% (397/731); among infected individuals 77.83% (307/397) were infected with type Ⅰ strain, 22.67% (90/397) were infected by type Ⅱ strain. Annual household income ( χ2=0.419, 0.410, 0.213, all P>0.05), smoking history (χ 2=0.071, P>0.05), drinking history ( χ2=0.071, P>0.05), dining place ( χ2=0.009, P>0.05), gastrointestinal symptoms ( χ2=0.047, P>0.05), family history of gastric disease ( χ2=0.069, P>0.05), and history of gastric cancer ( χ2=0.004, P>0.05) had no significant differences between H. pylori-positive and -negative groups, but the infection rate in individuals with higher education level was lower ( χ2=4.449, P<0.05). The infection rate was significantly higher in≥18 age groups compared with<18 age groups ( χ2=6.531, 23.362, 20.671, 24.244, 37.948, 14.597 and 5.170, all P<0.05). The familial H. pylori infection rate was 87.59% (233/266), and in 61 families all member were infected (26.18%, 61/233). The positive rate was 23.08% (6/26) in 50 families with children under 18 years when both parents were infected. Among 231 coupled families, both couples were infected in 78 families (33.76%), one couple was infected in 113 families (48.92%), and both couples were not infected in 40 (17.32%). With the increase of marriage time, the infection rate of both spouses increased significantly ( χ2=7.775, 12.662, 15.487, all P<0.05). Conclusions:The distribution of H. pylori infection presents a family cluster pattern, and intrafamilial infection is an important transmission rout of H. pylori. The type I strain of H. pylori is the dominate strain in this area.
