Vascular damage plays a significant role in the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the precise molecular mechanisms underlying the induction of neuronal injury by vascular damage remain unclear. The present study aimed to examine the impact of fibrinogen (Fg) on tau pathology. The results showed that Fg deposits in the brains of tau P301S transgenic mice interact with tau, enhancing the cytotoxicity of pathological tau aggregates and promoting tau phosphorylation and aggregation. Notably, Fg-modified tau fibrils caused enhanced neuronal apoptosis and synaptic damage compared to unmodified fibrils. Furthermore, intrahippocampal injection of Fg-modified tau fibrils worsened the tau pathology, neuroinflammation, synaptic damage, neuronal apoptosis, and cognitive dysfunction in tau P301S mice compared to controls. The present study provides compelling evidence linking Fg and tau, thereby connecting cerebrovascular damage to tau pathology in AD. Consequently, inhibiting Fg-mediated tau pathology could potentially impede the progression of AD.

Objective To investigate the cell compatibility of polystyrene(PS) plate chemically modified with RGD peptides. Methods PS surfaces were carboxylated by permanganate oxidation in diluted sulfuric acid, and carboxyls were activated with water-soluble carbodiimide to graft with gelatin, collagen and RGD peptides.IR,X-ray photo-electronic spectroscopy (XPS) and dynamic contact angle were used to characterize the surface modification of PS surface. Results XPS results confirmed the existence of nitrogen element from protein molecules and the covalently binding of proteins to PS surfaces.Dynamic contact angle measurement indicated hydrophilicity of PS surfaces was improved obviously after grafting modification. The cell culture results showed that the cell adhesion and proliferation was better on modified surfaces than the initial. Conclusion The cell compatibility of PS surface was great improved after modification with RGD peptides, which would provide a potential strategy to improve the culture of purified endothelial progenitor cells isolated by immunomagnetic beads.

Objective To know the effects of psychological intervention on elder patients with coro-nary heart disease when combined with depression and anxiety. Methods Divided 73 elder patients with coronary heart disease into the control group(35 cases) and the psychological intervention group(38 cases) randomly. Routine treatment and nursing cares were used in the control group, while the psychological in-tervention group was used in the psychological intervention group in addition. Evaluated the mental status between the two groups by SAS and SDS at the beginning of the research and three weeks later. Time in hospital and general clinical medical effects were analyzed in the end of research. Results There were no significant difference between the two groups about SAS and SDS scores at the beginning, while the later scores in the control group were significant higher than those of in the psychological intervention group. The period in hospital in the control group was longer than in the intervention group, the general medical effects was bet-ter in the intervention group than in the control group. Coneinsions Psychological intervention for elder patients with coronary heart disease when combined with depression and anxiety is a kind of ef-fective mode, which can improve the medical effects.
