PANoptosis, a newly defined form of cell death, is characterized by the simultaneous occurrence and crosstalk of apoptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis. It has emerged as a promising therapeutic target for various diseases. Ovarian dysfunction is marked by oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea, elevated gonadotropin levels, and diminished estrogen levels, often accompanying subfertility or infertility. Additionally, it can manifest with perimenopausal syndrome and increase the risks of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive impairments, seriously impacting patients' quality of life. While current studies have reported that ovarian hypofunction is associated with apoptosis, pyroptosis, or necroptosis, a systematic investigation into the relationship between PANoptosis and ovarian hypofunction is still absent. This review aims to elucidate the potential link between these two phenomena, providing new insights into the mechanisms underlying ovarian hypofunction and potential treatment strategies.

Objective:To analyze the reoperation rate and causes during the early adoption phase of unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE).Methods:The clinical data of 180 patients who underwent UBE performed by a single surgeon at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University from October 2021 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical and imaging data of patients who underwent reoperation were collected to analyze the causes of reoperation, and the clinical efficacy of the reoperations was also followed up. Measurement data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation ( ± s), and t-test was used before and after treatment. Results:A total of 180 patients who underwent UBE were included in this study, of which 6 patients underwent reoperation, and the reoperation rate was 3.33%. Among them, 3 cases occurred in the first 90 surgeries and the other 3 occurred in the subsequent 90 surgeries. The causes of reoperation were as follows: recurrent lumbar disc herniation at the same segment postoperatively in 2 cases, insufficient decompression in 2 cases, disc herniation following isolated decompression in 1 case, and immediate postoperative perianal numbness in 1 case. The time between the initial surgery and reoperation ranged from 0 to 187 days, with an average of 63.3 days. The average follow-up time after reoperation was 18.3 months. The visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) scores of the patients at the last follow-up were significantly improved compared with those before operation (VAS score of low back pain: 5.2 ± 1.7 before operation, 1.2 ± 0.8 at the last follow-up, P<0.001; VAS score of leg pain: 7.2 ± 1.5 before operation, 1.2 ± 1.2 at the last follow-up, P<0.001; ODI score: 67.3 ± 5.7 before operation, 20.2 ± 8.2 at the last follow-up, P<0.001). The postoperative modified MacNab scores were generally satisfactory (4 cases were rated as excellent, accounting for 66.7%; 2 cases were rated as good, accounting for 33.3%). Except for one patient who experienced dural injury during open revision surgery, there were no serious complications such as nerve damage. Conclusions:In the early stages of UBE surgery, recurrent lumbar disc herniation and inadequate decompression are the primary reasons for reoperation, typically occurring within the first three months postoperatively. Reoperation does not significantly increase the risk of nerve injury. Enhanced early postoperative follow-up is recommended. For symptomatic patients, a second surgery with thorough decompression can yield satisfactory treatment outcomes.

Objective: To explore the effects of different concentrations of glucose solution on the survival of Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens larvae, the attraction to mosquitoes and egg-laying behaviors, so as to provide the reference for developing mosquito control technology based on sugar bait. Methods: White porcelain bowls were filled with 100 mL of 3%, 5%, 8%, 10% and 15% glucose solutions. Ten of fourth instar larvae of Aedes albopictus or Culex pipiens pallens were added to each bowl, and the survival of larvae was recorded after 2, 4, 6, 24, 48 and 72 hours. Egg-laying cups containing 5%, 8% and 15% glucose solution were put in mosquito cages containing fully blooded female mosquitoes of Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens (50 mosquitoes each), and the total number of eggs laid in 72 hours was observed. The analogous site room was filled with fully blooded and starved female mosquitoes of Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens (100 mosquitoes each), and simple mosquito control buckets containing 5% and 8% glucose solution and black sticky insect plates. The number of mosquitoes and eggs was observed after 6 days. All the above experiments were repeated 3 times using dechlorinated water as the control. Results: The 72 hour corrected mortality rates of Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens larvae gradually increased with the increase of glucose concentration. The glucose solution with 5% and higher concentrations was not suitable for mosquito larvae to survive. The attraction of egg-laying behaviors to Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens gradually decreased with the increase of glucose concentration. The effects were similar between 5% and 8% glucose solution, with the averages of 686.67 and 682.33 eggs for Aedes albopictus, and 3.00 and 2.33 egg rafts for Culex pipiens pallens. In analogous site room, there were 93.33, 105.00 and 130.33 adult mosquitoes captured on average in the control group, 5% and 8% glucose solution groups, respectively, with 8% glucose solution group more attractive to adult mosquitoes than the control group (F=3.283, P=0.030); there were 70.33, 55.33 and 63.00 Aedes albopictus eggs (eggs counts+larvae counts) on average, respectively, with statistically significant differences among the three groups (H=6.761, P=0.034). Conclusion Glucose solution with concentration of 5% or higher can effectively inhibit the survival of Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens larvae, and attractive to adult mosquitoes and egg-laying behavoirs.

Zedoary turmeric oil regulates vascular endothelial growth factor and nuclear factors- κB， signal transducers and activator of transcription 3 signaling pathways to play a role in inhibiting tumor angiogenesis， inhibiting tumor cell proliferation， inducing tumor cell apoptosis， and blocking cell cycle. However， due to its insolubility in water and poor stability， its clinical application is limited； the application of new formulations and technologies such as liposomes， microspheres， and nanoemulsion improves the solubility and stability of zedoary turmeric oil. This paper summarizes recent research progress on the chemical composition， anti-tumor effects， and formulations of zedoary turmeric oil， both domestically and internationally， providing a reference for further expanding the clinical application and formulation development of zedoary turmeric oil in the anti-tumor field.

OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of ADRB1 Arg389Gly polymorphisms on the efficacy of bisoprolol， thus providing some information for individualized drug therapy. METHODS A systematic search was conducted in PubMed， Embase， Cochrane Library， CBM， CNKI， and Wanfang Data to retrieve and find out all relevant literature about bisoprolol and ADRB1 Arg389Gly polymorphism from the inception to May 2023. The retrieved literature was screened and selected according to the inclusive and exclusive criteria， thereafter quality assessment was conducted. RevMan 5.4 software was utilized to perform the meta- analysis for the outcome index. RESULTS Overall 7 literature with 1 339 cases were included. Among them， 4 studies provided the changes in systolic blood pressure （SBP）， diastolic blood pressure （DBP） （ΔSBP and ΔDBP）； 4 involving the change （ΔLVEF） of left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）. Results of the study showed that there was no statistical significance in the improvement of blood pressure between wild-type group （AA） and mutation group （AG+GG） of ADRB1 Arg389Gly treated with bisoprolol {ΔSBP [SMD＝0.17，95%CI （－0.97，1.31）， P＝0.77]， ΔDBP [SMD＝－0.01，95%CI （－0.65，0.62）， P＝0.97]}； there was no statistical significance in the improvement of ΔLVEF [SMD＝－0.61， 95%CI （－2.74，1.53）， P＝0.58] between 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS ADRB1 Arg389Gly gene polymorphism has no significant influence on the improvement of SBP， DBP， and LVEF in cardiovascular patients who use bisoprolol.

The ultrasonic manifestations of benign and malignant breast imaging-reporting and data system(BI-RADS)4 lesions overlap in some degrees,is able to result in unnecessary biopsy or untimely therapy.Accurate classifying the nature of BI-RADS 4 breast lesions can provide reliable references for clinical decision-making.The progresses of application of new ultrasonic technologies,including automated breast volume scanner,superb micro-vascular imaging,elastography,contrast-enhanced ultrasound and artificial intelligence for assisting diagnosis of BI-RADS 4 lesions were reviewed in this article.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of syphilis in Yangzhou City from 2013 to 2023, to understand the syphilis epidemic trends, and provide a scientific basis for formulating prevention and control strategies. Methods Syphilis case reports in Yangzhou City from 2013 to 2023 were collected through the infectious disease surveillance module of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Information System. The annual average reported incidence rate and annual average growth rate were calculated. Descriptive epidemiological methods were employed to analyze the overview of syphilis and its temporal, geographical and demographic distribution characteristics. Linear trend chi-square tests were conducted to analyze the syphilis epidemic trends. Results A total of 19, 457 syphilis cases were reported in Yangzhou City from 2013 to 2023, with an annual average reported incidence rate of 39.17/100, 000. The overall incidence of syphilis showed an upward trend, with the reported incidence rate increasing from 37.26/100, 000 in 2013 to 43.27/100, 000 in 2023 (χ²= 50.528, P < 0.001), representing an annual average growth rate of 1.51%. The majority of reported cases were latent syphilis, accounting for 64.99% (12, 646/19, 457). The number of reported cases of primary, secondary and congenital syphilis revealed an overall decreased trend, while the number of reported cases of tertiary and latent syphilis increased trend. There was no significant seasonality or periodicity in the reported incidence rate of syphilis in Yangzhou City from 2013 to 2023. The top three districts with the highest annual average reported incidence rates were the Development District, Guangling District and Hanjiang District, with incidence rates of 50.93/100, 000, 50.89/100, 000 and 43.18/100, 000, respectively. There were 10, 290 male syphilis cases (52.89%) and 9, 167 female syphilis cases (47.11%). The top three occupations were farmers (8, 682 cases), homemakers and unemployed individuals (5, 379 cases) and retired personnel (2, 559 cases), accounting for 85.42% (16, 620/19, 457) of the reported cases. Conclusion The incidence of syphilis in Yangzhou City generally shows an upward trend, and the disease epidemic spectrum changes annually, with latent syphilis currently being the primary form. The prevention and control situation is severe. Therefore, syphilis prevention and control efforts should be further strengthened to block its transmission and prevalence.

Objective:To evaluate the early assessment of hepatocardiac integration based on ultrasonic elasticity and blood flow vector imaging (VFM) technology, in conjunction with unsupervised cluster analysis and supervised machine learning methods.Methods:An observational research design without any intervention was adopted from December 2021 to September 2022, 45 patients with liver cirrhosis, 43 patients with liver fibrosis, and 42 healthy volunteers were selected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. Liver combined elasticity technology and VFM technology were used to obtain information on the liver and heart of the subjects, respectively. The acquired data were standardized, and then clustered using topological data analysis (TDA) technology on the processed data. Subsequently, the clustering results were evaluated based on statistical analysis, and finally, supervised multi-classification tasks were realized through machine learning methods.Results:Patients were stratified into five distinct groups based on a network of patient similarities. The average characteristics of each group were as follows: Group 1 exhibited the most severe hepatocardiac conditions relative to the other groups. Groups 2 and 3 displayed moderately severe conditions.In contrast, Group 4 comprised entirely of healthy controls, all of whom presented with normal hepatocardiac function. Group 5 presented a unique case among the categories.Participants in this group showed poor liver conditions. However, according to the guidelines for cardiac diastolic function assessment, their heart function was generally unremarkable, with only a minority of indicators deviating significantly. Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest Tree (RFT), and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) were employed for multi-classification tasks on the test dataset. The average accuracies achieved by these models were 70%, 81%, and 84%, respectively.Conclusions:By combining liver combined ultrasonic elasticity, cardiac VFM technology and TDA technology to construct a patient similarity network, we successfully identified patients with liver fibrosis who did not show abnormalities in conventional cardiac indicators but may have potential abnormal cardiac function, which has important implications for guiding the selection of clinical intervention measures, and optimizing patient management stratification.

Objective:To develop and evaluate a medical experience assessment scale for debridement and dressing change in chronic wound patients in China, and to provide a reference for improving hospital service quality.Methods:Based on the framework of hospital consumer assessment of healthcare providers and systems survey (HCAHPS) in the United States, a preliminary draft of the scale was formed through a literature review and qualitative interviews with 12 chronic wound patients (7 males and 5 females aged 58.1±12.3 years). Five experts were invited for content validity testing, and 191 chronic wound patients (111 males and 80 females aged 53.5±19.1 years) were selected to evaluate the internal consistency reliability, half reliability, retest reliability, and structural validity of the scale.Results:The Chronic Wound Patient Debridement and Dressing Experience Scale covered 5 dimensions with 30 sub-items and 2 comprehensive evaluation items, including demand response, good and friendly communication, professional trust, optimization of the medical treatment process, and encouragement of patient participation. The scale Cronbach′s α coefficient was 0.967 and ranged from 0.890 to 0.962 for each dimension. The overall retest reliability of the scale was 0.940 and ranged from 0.895 to 0.940 for each dimension. The overall half reliability of the scale was 0.923 and ranged from 0.834 to 0.935 for each dimension. 5 factors were extracted, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 82.061%.Conclusions:Based on the HCAHPS framework in the United States, the Chronic Wound Debridement and Dressing Experience Scale developed has high reliability and validity, and can be used to evaluate the dressing change experience of patients with chronic wounds. It has clinical practice significance for dressing change in chronic wounds.
