Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of black blood computed tomography(BBCT)in vulnerable plaques at the carotid bifurcation. Methods The imaging data of 73 patients with suspected carotid atherosclerosis were retrospectively analyzed. The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)of conventional computed tomography angiography(CTA)ima-ges and BBCT images were compared by paired sample t-test.The 5-level scoring method was applied to evaluate the image quality subjectively, and the Friedman test was used to compare the differences in the subjective evaluation of image quality among the groups.Taking high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging(HRMR-VWI)as the gold standard, the diagnostic value between BBCT and conventional CTA was compared, and the consistency of BBCT and HRMR-VWI in the evaluation of vulnerable plaques was calculated. Results The standard deviation(SD)value of BBCT images was lower than that of conventional three-phase CTA images, indicating better quality of BBCT images(P<0.001).The mean CT value and CNRplaque-lumen of non-calcified plaques were higher in BBCT images than those in conventional three-phase CTA images, suggesting that BBCT had a higher contrast with sur-rounding tissues and could better display the fine structure of non-calcified plaques(P<0.001).BBCT images achieved the highest scores in the subjective evaluation of image quality(P<0.001).Compared with conventional CTA images,BBCT had higher sensi-tivity(88.2%vs 29.4%)and accuracy(90.9%vs 54.5%)in identifying vulnerable plaques(P<0.001).The Kappa value between BBCT and HRMR-VWI was 0.813,showed good consistency. Conclusion The image quality of neck BBCT is superior to that of conventional CTA.BBCT has a better effect than conventional CTA in identifying vulnerable plaques at the carotid bifurcation, which is comparable to HRMR-VWI.

Objective To develop and translate the Chinese listening self-efficacy questionnaire(C-LSEQ)and to test its reliability and validity. Methods A total of 172 subjects aged≥60 years with age-related hearing loss completed the C-LSEQ questionnaire via direct interviews.Pure tone hearing threshold test,Mandarin hearing in noise test, and the hearing handicap inventory for elderly-screening(HHIE-S)were evaluated.Twenty subjects were randomly selected from the original group to complete the C-LSEQ questionnaire in 2 weeks after the initial evaluation. Results ① Reliability:The Cronbach's a coefficients of the three sub-dimensions and the overall ques-tionnaire were all>0.8,and the test-retest reliability coefficients of the three sub-dimensions and the overall ques-tionnaire were all>0.9(P<0.001).② Validity:The experts collectively evaluated the representativeness of the statements with good content validity. The convergent validity test showed that the composite reliability(CR)of the 2 sub-dimensions and the overall questionnaire were all>0.7,and the average variance extracted(AVE)were all>0.5.The CR value of the complex listening dimension was 0.655,and the AVE value was 0.937.The criterion validity test showed that the overall questionnaire and the three sub-dimensions of the C-LSEQ were significantly correlated with the pure-tone average, speech recognition thresholds in noise, and HHIE-S(P<0.001).Conclusion The C-LSEQ exhibits stable structure, with good reliability and validity. It can be used to assess listen-ing self-efficacy in adults with hearing loss, especially in the elderly with age-related hearing loss.

Objective:To investigate the clinical outcomes of precapsular pocket repositioning for correcting implant malposition following augmentation mammoplasty. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 29 female patients aged 25-37 (28.8±3.4) years who underwent precapsular pocket repositioning at the Affiliated Friendship Plastic Surgery Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from December 2015 to August 2024. The surgical technique involved preserving the original capsule, creating a new implant pocket anterior to the capsule, and closing the original capsular space. Postoperative complications were recorded, and breast satisfaction was evaluated preoperatively and at 6 months postoperatively using the BREAST-questionnaire (BREAST-Q).Results:All 29 patients successfully underwent precapsular pocket repositioning with primary wound healing. During the follow-up period, all patients were satisfied with the correction of implant malposition. The mean BREAST-Q score improved significantly from (43.56±3.17) scores preoperatively to (72.56±13.49) scores at 6 months postoperatively ( P<0.001). No hematoma, implant rupture, recurrent malposition, capsular contracture, or surgical site infection occurred in any patient. Conclusion:Precapsular pocket repositioning provides favorable clinical outcomes for patients with implant malposition after augmentation mammoplasty, and there are no severe complications .

The paper reports a case of endocapillary proliferative glomerulonephritis without immune complex deposition, presenting with acute kidney injury and proteinuria. Renal pathology was characterized by predominant T cells and CD68 + macrophages infiltration in glomerular capillaries without immunocomplex deposits. After glucocorticoid therapy, the patient's condition has improved and reached complete remission. This type of renal pathology is extremely rare. Through literature review, it is considered that they may be caused by abnormal immune cells such as T cells and/or macrophages-mediated immune responses. It should be taken seriously in clinical practice, and its underlying causes and pathogenesis need further research.

Mitochondria are the main site of energy metabolism in cardiomyocytes, and at the same time mediate apoptosis and immune response, so mitochondrial dysfunction is closely related to the development of heart failure. Combined with the pathogenesis of mitochondrial dysfunction and heart failure, it is proposed that the mitochondrial function is similar to "sweat pore - collaterals - zang and fu organs", according to which the treatment of heart failure is based on the theory of "sweat pore - collaterals - zang and fu organs". It is believed that the core mechanism of heart failure is qi deficiency, and qi deficiency leads to the weakness of the sweat pore opening and closing, or even the sweat pore closure, then resulting in qi deficiency and blood stasis, collaterals stagnation fail to flourish, and qi, blood, and body fluids can not infiltrate and nourish zang-fu organs, so that the heart fail to be nourished, and the disease will develop. The treatment should be based on the method of boosting qi and opening sweat pore, using acridity to unblock the collaterals, and invigorating blood and draining water, with medicinal of boosting qi, invigorating blood, and draining water as treatment.

Background As a key to economic and social development, occupational groups with low levels of occupational health literacy (OHL) are considered vulnerable groups with high risks of work-related diseases and injuries. Therefore, improving the OHL of these groups is of great significance in reducing the burden on public health. Objective To master the four dimensional OHL levels and influencing factors of the key groups in Fuling District, Chongqing, and provide a basis for formulating health education programs for occupational groups in the future. Methods The Occupational Health Literacy Questionnaire of Key Populations was distributed online to investigate the key occupational groups in Fuling District through stratified cluster sampling. The survey collected data on basic demographic information, legal knowledge of occupational health, basic knowledge of occupational health protection, basic skills of occupational health protection, and healthy working style and behavior. Univariate analysis, logistic regression, and nomogram were used to analyze the above data. Results This survey distributed
