Objective:To investigate the effects of different post space parameters and scanning aid material on the trueness of digital impressions of post spaces obtained by two intraoral scanners, thereby providing a reference for clinically determining the conditions under which post spaces are suitable for digital impression technology. Methods:This study varied three variables of post space models of residual crowns: opening diameter, post space depth and adjacent tooth status, with specific settings: opening diameter were set at two levels (2.0 and 2.5 mm);post space depth was set at three levels (8.0, 10.0, and 12.0 mm); and adjacent tooth status were set at three levels [bilateral adjacent teeth present (A), unilateral adjacent tooth present (B), and bilateral adjacent teeth absent (C)]. A total of 18 model groups were prepared. Eighteen samples were printed using a three-dimensional printing instrument. Combined with scanning aid material, direct in vitro scanning of these post space models was performed using intraoral scanners (IOS) A (Trios 5) and B (Primescan connect), with 10 replicates per group ( n=10). The scanned data were sequentially imported into reverse engineering software. The original design data of the models served as true values, and best-fit comparisons were performed. By calculating the average root mean square error (RMSE) values, the trueness of digital impressions of post spaces with different morphologies obtained by the two scanners was evaluated, both with and without the use of scanning aid material. Results:Under the experimental conditions set in this study, for IOS A, only the sample groups with opening diameter-post space depth-adjacent tooth status combinations of (2.0-8.0-ABC, 2.5-8.0-ABC, 2.5-10.0-ABC) could be identified, with RMSE results ranging from 46.5 to 365.0 μm. After adding scanning aid materials,RMSE results ranging from 46.0 to 185.0 μm, the trueness of the sample groups (2.0-8.0-A, 2.5-10.0-A) was significantly improved by more than 100 μm, and an additional sample group (2.5-12.0-C) could be identified. For IOS B, the identifiable sample groups included all 18 sample groups, with RMSE results ranging from 38.8 to 106.0 μm. After the addition of scanning aid materials, RMSE results ranging from 37.6 to 110.2 μm, the identifiable sample groups remained unchanged. Post space opening diameter, post space depth, and adjacent tooth status all had significant effects on the trueness of post space digital impressions for both IOS A and IOS B (all P<0.05). Scanning aid materials had a significant effect on IOS A ( P<0.05), but no significant effect on IOS B ( P>0.05). Conclusions:IOS B exhibited superior post space scanning performance compared to IOS A, and its trueness for clinically common post spaces could meet clinical requirements. IOS A has certain requirements for post space opening diameter, post space depth, and adjacent tooth status. For narrow and long post spaces, scanning aid materials can be used to improve the scanning trueness.

Enzyme-driven micro/nanomotors consuming in situ chemical fuels have attracted lots of attention for biomedical applications. However, motor systems composed by organism-derived organics that maximize the therapeutic efficacy of enzymatic products remain challenging. Herein, swimming proteomotors based on biocompatible urease and human serum albumin are constructed for enhanced antitumor therapy via active motion and ammonia amplification. By decomposing urea into carbon dioxide and ammonia, the designed proteomotors are endowed with self-propulsive capability, which leads to improved internalization and enhanced penetration in vitro. As a glutamine synthetase inhibitor, the loaded l-methionine sulfoximine further prevents the conversion of toxic ammonia into non-toxic glutamine in both tumor and stromal cells, resulting in local ammonia amplification. After intravesical instillation, the proteomotors achieve longer bladder retention and thus significantly inhibit the growth of orthotopic bladder tumor in vivo without adverse effects. We envision that the as-developed swimming proteomotors with amplification of the product toxicity may be a potential platform for active cancer treatment.

Excessive theta (θ) frequency oscillation and synchronization in the basal ganglia (BG) has been reported in elderly parkinsonian patients and animal models of levodopa (L-dopa)-induced dyskinesia (LID), particularly the θ oscillation recorded during periods when L-dopa is withdrawn (the off L-dopa state). To gain insight into processes underlying this activity, we explored the relationship between primary motor cortex (M1) oscillatory activity and BG output in LID. We recorded local field potentials in the substantia nigra pars reticulata (SNr) and M1 of awake, inattentive resting rats before and after L-dopa priming in Sham control, Parkinson disease model, and LID model groups. We found that chronic L-dopa increased θ synchronization and information flow between the SNr and M1 in off L-dopa state LID rats, with a SNr-to-M1 flow directionality. Compared with the on state, θ oscillational activity (θ synchronization and information flow) during the off state were more closely associated with abnormal involuntary movements. Our findings indicate that θ oscillation in M1 may be consequent to abnormal synchronous discharges in the BG and support the notion that M1 θ oscillation may participate in the induction of dyskinesia.

Objective To investigate the BRAF-V600E mutation in pediatric patients with Langerhans cell histiocytosis and its clinical features. Methods A retrospective study was conducted among 27 children who were diagnosed in our hospital between August 2009 and June 2015 ,including 17 males and 10 females. BRAF-V600E was amplified from tissue samples of the 27 children with LCH by PCR and the relationship was analysed between the mutation and clinical features ,outcome. Results BRAF-V600E mutation was found in 9 cases within all 27 tested cases(33.3%). Significant difference was not found in age ,gender ,system involvement ,6-week reaction ,3-year overall survival and event-free survival between BRAF-V600E positive and negative groups. Conclusions BRAF-V600E mutation was found in Chinese pediatric LCH patients with positive rate of 33.3%, that indicates LCH might be a neoplastic disease. However ,its definite role on disease onset ,system involvement and disease progression remains unknown.

Objectives To summarize screening and therapeutic effects of congenital hypothyroidism (CH) in Zhongshan. Methods The thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration in dried heel blood samples on iflter paper was detected using time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay. The cases of positive screening tests were called back for further examination of venous blood TSH concentration using chemiluminescence method. Fifty-four children with permanent CH treated routinely for 2 years (CH group) and 120 age-gender matched health children (control group) were recruited. The physical development (height, body weight) was monitored. The neurodevelopment and temperament type were tested using Pediatric Nneuropsychological Development Assessment and Children's Temperament Scale respectively at 6 and 24 months after birth. Results Two hundred eight-five thousand two hundred forty-two neonates were screened. One hundred and forty cases were confirmed and the incidence rate was 1/2037. There was no statistical difference in length-for-age z score (LAZ) and weight-for-age z score (WAZ) between CH and control group (P>0.05). The neurodevelopment in CH group was normal, but gross motor development was worse than that in control group (P<0.05). The temperament type and distribution had statistical difference between CH and control group (P<0.05). The percentage of the dififcult type and central dififcult type was increased in CH group as compared to control group, especially in the activity, adaptability, reaction intensity and perseverance (P<0.05). Conclusions The physical and neurodevelopment are nearly normal in patients with CH after early supplementation, but the psychological behavior problems need to be focused on in the process of intervention.

In order to investigate whether defense genes PAL, LOX, PBZ1, PR 1 a and Cht 1 participate in APR(adult plant resistance)to rice bacterial blight, their expression were analyzed using RT-PCR. Enzymatic activities of PAL and LOX were also measured. Results indicated that PAL was induced by pathogen and wounding in adult plants while it only induced by pathogen at the seedlings, and the expression of PAL was stronger in adult plants than that in seedlings. Expression of LOX was induced by pathogen both in seedlings and adult plants and it was stronger in adult plants than that in seedlings. Expression PBZ1 was induced by both pathogen and wounding in both seedlings and adult plants and it is earlier and stronger in adult plants than that in seedlings. No expected fragments were obtained for PR 1 a and Cht 1. Enzymatic activities of PAL and LOX were consistent with their mRNA accumulations, respectively. It is probable that activation of PAL,LOX, and PBZ1 play crucial roles in APR to rice bacterial blight.
