1.Key Information Research and Ancient and Modern Application Analysis of Classic Prescription Houpo Sanwutang

Houpo Sanwutang, included in the Catalogue of Ancient Classical Prescriptions (Second Batch), was first recorded in the Synopsis of Golden Chamber written by ZHANG Zhongjing from the Eastern Han dynasty and was modified by successive generations of medical experts. A total of 37 pieces of effective data involving 37 ancient Chinese medical books were retrieved from different databases. Through literature mining, statistical analysis, and data processing, combined with modern articles, this study employed bibliometrics to investigate the historical origin, composition, decoction methods, clinical application, and other key information. The results showed that the medicinal origin of Houpo Sanwutang was clearly documented in classic books. Based on the conversion of the measurements from the Han Dynasty, it is recommended that 110.4 g Magnolia Officinalis Cortex, 55.2 g Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, and 72 g Aurantii Fructus Immaturus should be taken. Magnolia Officinalis Cortex and Aurantii Fructus Immaturus should be decocted with 2 400 mL water first, and 1 000 mL should be taken from the decocted liquid. Following this, Rhei Radix et Rhizoma should be added for further decoction, and then 600 mL should be taken from the decocted liquid. A single dose of administration is 200 mL, and the medication can be stopped when patients restore smooth bowel movement. Houpo Sanwutang has the effect of moving Qi, relieving stuffiness and fullness, removing food stagnation, and regulating bowels. It can be used in treating abdominal distending pain, guarding, constipation, and other diseases with the pathogenesis of stagnated heat and stagnated Qi in the stomach. The above results provide reference for the future development and research of Houpo Sanwutang.
2.Induction of apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells by polyphyllin 9 through regulating the Fas/FasL sig-naling pathway and the inhibitory effect on the growth of transplanted tumor in nude mice

OBJECTIVE To investigate the induction of apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells by polyphyllin 9 (PP9) through the regulation of the Fas/Fas ligand (FasL) signaling pathway, and its inhibitory effect on the growth of transplanted tumor in nude mice. METHODS Based on the screening of cell lines and intervention conditions, HepG2 cells were selected as the experimental subject to investigate the effects of 2 μmol/L and 4 μmol/L PP9 treatment on cell colony formation activity, apoptosis rate, as well as the protein expressions of Fas, FasL, cleaved caspase-8 and cleaved caspase-3. Additionally, Fas inhibitor KR- 33493 was introduced to investigate the underlying mechanism of PP9’s anti-hepatocellular carcinoma activity. Using HepG2 cell tumor-bearing nude mice model as the object, and 5-fluorouracil (20 mg/kg) as the positive control, the effects of 10 mg/kg PP9 on tumor volume, tumor mass, and the protein expressions of the nuclear proliferation-associated antigen Ki-67 and cleaved caspase-3 in tumor-bearing nude mice were investigated. RESULTS Compared with the control group, 2, 4 μmol/L PP9 significantly decreased the number of clones and the clone formation rate of cells, but significantly increased the apoptosis rate, the protein expressions of Fas, FasL, cleaved caspase-8 and cleaved caspase-3 (P<0.05 or P<0.01). However, the combination of Fas inhibitor KR-33493 could significantly reverse the effect of PP9 on the up-regulation of proteins related to the Fas/FasL signaling pathway (P<0.01). Compared with the control group, the tumor volume (on day 27), mass and protein expression of Ki- 67 in nude mice of the PP9 group were significantly decreased, while the protein expression of cleaved caspase-3 was significantly increased (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS PP9 can induce apoptosis of HepG2 cells by activating the Fas/FasL signaling pathway. Meanwhile, PP9 can also effectively inhibit the growth of transplanted tumors in nude mice.
3.Research progress on the role of peripheral nerves in wound healing.

Skin wound repair is critically regulated by peripheral nerves. Injury or dysfunction of these nerves represents a key factor impairing the healing of pathological wounds, such as diabetic ulcers and deep burns. The mechanisms by which peripheral nerves participate in cutaneous wound healing primarily involve modulation of immune responses, construction of stem cell niches, and promotion of angiogenesis. Sensory neurons initiate and mediate essential local immune responses, contribute to the epidermal stem cell microenvironment, and support regenerative potential. Sympathetic nerves bidirectionally regulate immune homeostasis via the release of various neuromodulators and precisely control the activation of hair follicle stem cells as well as the homeostasis of melanocyte stem cells. Schwann cells also play pivotal roles in immune modulation, balancing repair processes and mitigating scar formation. During revascularization, sensory and autonomic nerve terminals release neurotransmitters that precisely regulate vasomotor activity and angiogenesis, while Schwann cells facilitate the reconstruction of functional vascular networks via potent paracrine signaling. This review systematically summarizes the crucial roles of peripheral nerves in skin wound repair, with emphasis on their regulatory mechanisms in immune responses, stem cell activation and homeostasis, and vascular dynamics, thereby providing insights into the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting peripheral nerve regulation.

It is composed of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, Astragali Radix, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Poria, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, with the effects of reinforcing Qi and invigorating spleen, warming Yang and promoting urination. By a review of ancient medical books, this paper summarizes the composition, original plants, processing, dosage, decocting methods, indications and other key information of Fangji Fulingtang, aiming to provide a literature basis for the research, development, and clinical application of preparations based on this formula. Synonyms of Fangji Fulingtang exist in ancient medical books, while the formula composition in the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber is more widespread and far-reaching. In this formula, Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, Astragali Radix, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Poria, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma are the dried root of Stephania tetrandra, the dried root of Astragalus embranaceus var. mongholicus, the dried shoot of Cinnamomum cassia, the dried sclerotium of Poria cocos, and the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis, respectively. Fangji Fulingtang is mainly produced into powder, with the dosage and decocting method used in the past dynasties basically following the original formula. Each bag is composed of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix 13.80 g, Astragali Radix 13.80 g, Cinnamomi Ramulus 13.80 g, Poria 27.60 g, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma 9.20 g. The raw materials are purified, decocted in water from 1 200 mL to 400 mL, and the decoction should be taken warm, 3 times a day. Fangji Fulingtang was originally designed for treating skin edema, and then it was used to treat impediment in the Qing dynasty. In modern times, it is mostly used to treat musculoskeletal and connective tissue diseases and circulatory system diseases, demonstrating definite effects on various types of edema and heart failure. This paper clarifies the inheritance of Fangji Fulingtang and reveals its key information (attached to the end of this paper), aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the development of preparations based on this formula.

6.Intervention Effect and Mechanism of Danggui Shaoyao Power in Rats of Spontaneous Abortion Based on Protenomics

Objective To investigate the intervention effects and mechanism of Danggui Shaoyao power on spontaneous abortion rats.Methods A total of 60 first-day pregnant rats were randomly divided into normal group,model group,dydrogesterone group and Danggui Shaoyao power low,middle,and high dose groups,with 10 rats in each group.The low,middle,and high dose groups were given Danggui Shaoyao power 5.175 g·kg-1,10.35 g·kg-1,20.7 g·kg-1,respectively,from 1 to 12 days of gestation,and the dydrogesterone group was given dydrogesterone tablet solution 2 mg·kg-1 once a day.On the 13th day of gestation,rats model of spontaneous abortion was established by intragastric administration of 5 mg·kg-1 of mifepristone tablet solution except for the normal group.Serum levels of GnRH,FSH,LH,E2 were measured,and abortion rates and uterine coefficients were calculated.The pathological changes of pregnant uterus were observed by haematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining.The differential proteins in rats pregnant uterus were detected by Label-Free shotgun proteomic technique,and the PPI,Gene Ontology(GO),and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways analysis of the differential proteins were analyzed.Immunohistochemistry was used to verify the expression levels of differential proteins.Results Compared with normal group,the serum levels of GnRH,FSH,LH,E2 and uterine coefficients were decreased,and the abortion rates were increased in model group(P<0.05).There were abortion lesions of spontaneous abortion in model group.Compared with model group,the serum levels of GnRH,FSH,LH,E2 and uterine coefficients were increased(P<0.05),and the abortion rates were decreased(P<0.05)in dydrogesterone group and Danggui Shaoyao power low,middle,and high dose groups.Proteomic results showed that a total of 550 proteins were quantified in this study.PPI analysis showed that a total of 159 proteins interacted with other proteins as hubs;the results of GO and KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the intervention effect of Danggui Shaoyao power on spontaneous abortion is related to the focal adhesion pathway,and involved upregulation of Akt2,Col6a1,Col6a2 and downregulation of Pten.Immunohistochemistry results showed that compared with normal group,the expression level of Akt2,Col6a1 and Col6a2 were decreased(P<0.05),and the expression level of Pten was increased(P<0.05)in model group.Compared with model group,the expression level of Akt2,Col6a1 and Col6a2 were increased(P<0.05),and the expression level of Pten was decreased(P<0.05)in dydrogesterone group and Danggui Shaoyao power low,middle,and high dose groups.Conclusions Danggui Shaoyao power has the intervention effect on spontaneous abortion,and its mechanism may be related to by demoting the protein expressions of Pten,and promoting the protein expressions of Akt2,Col6a1 and Col6a2.
7.Evaluation of injection point recognition and motion control accuracy of an intravitreal injection robot system guided by artificial intelligence

Objective:To develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-guided intravitreal injection robot system to accurately detect the injection point on the ocular surface and guide the robotic arm to complete the intravitreal injection positioning task through 3D position calculation.Methods:The Dikablis subset of the TEyeD dataset was used.Training set, testing set, and validation set were constructed by using equal interval sampling strategy.The system read the ocular surface color RGB image with an RGBD camera, then used a PatchCrop-Transformer-based injection point detection algorithm to detect and locate key points such as the pupil, iris, and eyelid in the image.Next, it extracted the local 3D point cloud data near the injection point based on the depth information obtained by the camera.Through principal component analysis (PCA) of the local area point cloud data, the injection point and injection direction were determined.The key information was then passed to the robotic arm system.The end of the robotic arm adopted a remote center of motion (RCM) mechanism.After solving the forward and inverse kinematics, the joint movement path was obtained, and the robotic arm was controlled to move to 2 cm above the injection point.After confirmation by the doctor, the insertion, injection, and withdrawal operations were completed to ensure the stability and repeatability of the injection process.The mean square error (MSE) of key points localization and the success detection rate (SDR) within different pixel error ranges (2, 5, and 10 pixels) of the study method were compared with those of the NFDP, SLPT, and StarLoss methods, and the effects of random weight enhancement, fixed weight enhancement, and no enhancement methods on the MSE of key points localization were evaluated.The repeatability and absolute positioning accuracy of the robotic arm system were also evaluated.Results:After adding random weight enhancement, the model of this study outperformed the fixed weight enhancement and no enhancement methods in both MSE and SDR.The MSEs of the model proposed in this study for overall eye, pupil, and iris localization were 4.25, 2.41, and 1.54, respectively, which were lower than those of the NFDP, StarLoss, and SLPT methods.Within the error ranges of 5 and 10 pixels, the SDRs of the model proposed in this study were 72.09% and 92.68%, respectively, which were higher than those of the NFDP, StarLoss, and SLPT methods.The single-axis repeatability errors and absolute positioning errors of the robotic arm were within ±5 μm.Conclusions:The AI-guided intravitreal injection robot system integrates RGBD images to achieve automatic recognition of the ocular injection point and high-precision motion control through RCM mechanism design and corresponding kinematic solution methods.
8.Study on the prevalence and influencing factors of frailty in older adults with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of frailty among older adults diagnosed with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome(NSTE-ACS).Methods:We conducted a cross-sectional study involving patients aged 65 years and older with NSTE-ACS, who were admitted to the Cardiology Center and the Department of Geriatrics at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, between January 2020 and November 2021.Patients were categorized into non-frail, pre-frail, and frail groups based on the FRAIL scale.We collected clinical data, including general health conditions, comorbidities, laboratory results, treatments, and comprehensive geriatric assessments.Logistic regression analysis was employed to identify the influencing factors associated with frailty and pre-frailty in older adults with NSTE-ACS.Results:A total of 528 patients with NSTE-ACS were included in the study, comprising 308 males(58.3%)and 220 females(41.7%). The age range of participants was from 65 to 90 years, with a median age of 72(68, 76)years.The prevalence of frailty among older adults with NSTE-ACS was 11.4%(60/528), while pre-frailty was observed in 51.9%(274/528), and non-frailty in 36.7%(194/528). Compared to the non-frail and pre-frail groups, patients in the frail group were older, had a higher proportion of females, exhibited a greater prevalence of chronic diseases, and presented with elevated inflammatory markers.Additionally, frail patients demonstrated poorer nutritional status and reduced functional ability(all P<0.005). Risk factors for frailty in older adults with NSTE-ACS included older age( OR=1.110, 95% CI: 1.032-1.194, P=0.005), diabetes( OR=2.489, 95% CI: 1.091-5.679, P=0.030), cerebrovascular disease ( OR=4.151, 95% CI: 1.660-10.384, P=0.002), chronic kidney disease ( OR=42.874, 95% CI: 3.957-464.513, P=0.002), and elevated white blood cell levels( OR=1.424, 95% CI: 1.125-1.802, P=0.003). Conversely, being male( OR=0.252, 95% CI: 0.105-0.604, P=0.002)was identified as a protective factor against frailty in this patient population.For pre-frail older adults with NSTE-ACS, identified risk factors included diabetes( OR=1.882, 95% CI: 1.199-2.955, P=0.006), cerebrovascular disease( OR=1.938, 95% CI: 1.176-3.195, P=0.009), and chronic kidney disease ( OR=12.137, 95% CI: 1.536-95.934, P=0.018). Similarly, being male( OR=0.601, 95% CI: 0.376-0.961, P=0.033)was also a protective factor for pre-frailty in older adults with NSTE-ACS. Conclusions:The prevalence of frailty and pre-frailty among older adults with NSTE-ACS is notably high.Common risk factors for frailty and pre-frailty in this population include female gender, diabetes, cerebrovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease.
9.Risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Objective To investigate the risk factors for cardiovascular disease(CVD)in patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods Clinical data of 225 patients with RA admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2023 to September 2024 were collected,and the patients were divided into CVD group(n=50)and non-CVD group(n=175)according to whether they were complicated by CVD.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors of CVD in RA patients.Results Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age,hematocrit,red cell volume distribution width(RDW),erythrocyte sedimentation rate,neutrophil to high density lipoprotein ratio(NHR)and platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR)were all influencing factors for CVD in RA patients(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age,RDW,NHR and PLR were all risk factors for CVD in RA patients(P<0.05).The results of receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of age,RDW,NHR and PLR diagnosed CVD in RA patients were 0.844,0.797,0.572 and 0.713,respectively.The combined diagnosis AUC of four indexes was 0.898.Conclusion The risk of CVD in RA patients is influenced by many factors,and the combination of age,RDW,NHR,and PLR can improve early diagnosis of CVD in RA patients.
