OBJECTIVE: To propose a machine learning-based method for predicting the trajectories during manual acupuncture manipulation (MAM), aiming to improve the precision and consistency of acupuncture practitioner' operation and provide the real-time suggestions on MAM error correction. METHODS: Computer vision technology was used to analyze the hand micromotion when holding needle during acupuncture, and provide a three-dimensional coordinate description method of the index finger joints of the holding hand. Focusing on the 4 typical motions of MAM, a machine learning-based MAM trajectory predictive model was designed. By integrating the changes of phalangeal joint angle and hand skeletal information of acupuncture practitioner, the motion trajectory of the index finger joint was predicted accurately. Besides, the roles of machine learning-based MAM trajectory predictive model in the skill transmission of acupuncture manipulation were verified by stratified randomized controlled trial. RESULTS: The performance of MAM trajectory predictive model, based on the long short-term memory network (LSTM), obtained the highest stability and precision, up to 98%. The learning effect was improved when the model applied to the skill transmission of acupuncture manipulation. CONCLUSION The machine learning-based MAM predictive model provides acupuncture practitioner with precise action prediction and feedback. It is valuable and significant for the inheritance and error correction of manual operation of acupuncture.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of manual acupuncture manipulations (MAMs) on subcutaneous muscle tissue, by developing quantitative models of "lifting and thrusting" and "twisting and rotating", based on machine learning techniques. METHODS: A depth camera was used to capture the acupuncture operator's hand movements during "lifting and thrusting" and "twisting and rotating" of needle. Simultaneously, the ultrasound imaging was employed to record the muscle tissue responses of the participants. Amplitude and angular features were extracted from the movement data of operators, and muscle fascicle slope features were derived from the data of ultrasound images. The dynamic time warping barycenter averaging algorithm was adopted to align the dual-source data. Various machine learning techniques were applied to build quantitative models, and the performance of each model was compared. The most optimal model was further analyzed for its interpretability. RESULTS: Among the quantitative models built for the two types of MAMs, the random forest model demonstrated the best performance. For the quantitative model of the "lifting and thrusting" technique, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.825. For the "twisting and rotating" technique, R² reached 0.872. CONCLUSION Machine learning can be used to effectively develop the models and quantify the effects of MAMs on subcutaneous muscle tissue. It provides a new perspective to understand the mechanism of acupuncture therapy and lays a foundation for optimizing acupuncture technology and designing personalized treatment regimen in the future.

Lung cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the respiratory system， and its pathogenesis is still not fully understood. Despite the significant clinical efficacy achieved through treatments such as surgery， radiotherapy， chemotherapy， targeted therapy， and immunotherapy， they still come with many complications and significant adverse reactions. In recent years， numerous basic and clinical studies have confirmed the effectiveness of Chinese medicine in treating lung cancer. Chinese medicine features synergistic regulation through its multiple components， targets， pathways， and approaches. Active monomeric constituents in Chinese medicine are diverse， and their mechanisms of action are intricate， making it challenging to fully understand the mechanisms by which Chinese medicine prevents and treats lung cancer. Therefore， there is an urgent need to approach Chinese medicine intervention in lung cancer from a modern medical perspective， exploring the mechanisms of Chinese medicine intervention in lung cancer at the molecular biology and network pharmacology levels. According to traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）， the occurrence of lung cancer is predominantly attributed to factors such as deficiency of healthy Qi， presence of pathogenic factors， internal accumulation of heat-toxins， internal accumulation of phlegm-dampness， and Qi stagnation and blood stasis. Literature analysis reveals that Chinese medicine compound formulas for lung cancer predominantly include tonifying agents and heat-clearing and toxin-removing agents， such as Shashen Maidongtang， Xiaoyan prescription， and Feijinsheng prescription. The single herbs used mainly include heat-clearing， deficiency-tonifying， blood-activating， stasis-resolving， phlegm-resolving， cough-relieving， and asthma-calming categories. The use of Chinese medicine aligns with the TCM understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of lung cancer. Studies have shown that TCM can regulate the expression of key molecules in lung cancer-related signaling pathways， such as the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B （PI3K/Akt）， nuclear factor-kappa B （NF-κB）， Wnt/β-catenin， mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK）， and Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription （JAK/STAT）， thereby exerting effects such as reducing lung cancer cell activity， blocking the cell cycle， inhibiting proliferation and invasion of lung cancer cells， inducing apoptosis in lung cancer cells， promoting cell autophagy， and reversing drug resistance， and intervening in the progression of lung cancer. This study systematically summarized recent research progress on how Chinese medicine monomers or formulas regulated the aforementioned signaling pathways and key protein expression to exert anti-lung cancer effects， aiming to elucidate the mechanisms by which Chinese medicine intervenes in the progression of lung cancer and provide insights and theoretical basis for further research and clinical application of Chinese medicine in lung cancer intervention.

Alzheimer's disease is a common central neurodegenerative disease， mainly manifested by cognitive impairment and non-cognitive neuropsychiatric symptoms that severely affect patients' daily life and behavioral functioning. The pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease is still unclear， and the western medicine currently used to treat Alzheimer's disease is only symptomatic， with a single pathway， limited efficacy， and many side effects. In recent years， with the deepening of research on Alzheimer's disease， the study and application of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease have gradually increased. Several studies have shown that TCM and its effective components can exert anti-Alzheimer's disease effects by regulating molecular mechanisms such as pathological protein production and aggregation， oxidative stress， neuroinflammation， ferroptosis， mitochondrial dysfunction， neurogenesis and neurotransmission， and brain-gut axis. This paper summarized the research progress of TCM in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in recent years， so as to provide a reference for further study of the specific mechanism of TCM in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and the discovery of effective components of TCM.

Objective:To explore the application effect of Wenyang Jiangu Bao combined with Baduanjin in osteoporosis (OP) patients with kidney-yang deficiency.Methods:A total of 100 OP patients with kidney-yang deficiency who were initially hospitalized in Traumatology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to May 2022 were selected by the convenient sampling method and they were randomly divided into the routine group, the packet group, Baduanjin group and the combined the Baduanjin group was treated with Baduanjin exercise on the basis of routine group, and the combined group was treated with Wenyang Jiangu Bao and Baduanjin combination measures on the basis of routine group. The intervention time was 12 weeks. The clinical curative effects, TCM syndrome score, lumbar bone density, the MOS Item Short from Health Survey (SF-36) score and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score of all groups before and after intervention were compared.Results:After intervention, the clinical curative effects of the combined group was better than that of the routine group and Baduanjin group, VAS score and TCM syndrome score were lower than those of other 3 groups, lumbar bone density and SF-36 score were higher than those of other 3 groups, and the differences were all statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Wenyang Jiangu Bao combined with simplified Baduanjin in treatment of osteoporosis patients with kidney-yang deficiency has a good clinical effect, which can improve the symptoms of lumbar pain and leg pain and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms of osteoporosis patients, increase the lumbar bone density of patients and improve the quality of life of them.

Objective To evaluate and compare the maturity of autografts and allografts as well as the postoperative clinical outcomes 10 years after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction(ACLR).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 64 patients who underwent anterior cruciate liga-ment reconstruction,with an average follow-up period of about 10 years.Autografts were used in 36 cases(56.2%),and allografts in 28 cases(43.8%).Both groups were recorded the knee Lysholm scores,IKDC subjective scores,and stability tests results(KT-1000 side-to-side difference and Lach-man test).Moreover,graft maturity was assessed using the knee magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and the Signal-to-Noise Quotient(SNQ)for both types of grafts was measured.Results No significant differences were observed between the autograft and allograft groups in the average follow-up time(10.1±2.1 and 10.5±1.8 years)(P=0.376),the SNQ value(24.1±8.8 and 23.2±8.7)(P= 0.652),the Lysholm score(90±10.3 and 89.4±8.9)(P=0.805)and the anterior joint stability dur-ing follow-up(P=0.923).Moreover,the average IKDC score and incidence of abnormal tension of the ligament measured by KT1000 of the autograft group were higher than the allograft group[(84.5±8.3)vs.(80.4±7.8),P=0.075;14.3%vs.8.3%,P=0.724].Meanwhile,ACL re-tear occurred to two cas-es in the autograft group(5.6%)and the allograft group(7.1%),respectively,showing no significant dif-ference(P=0.795).Conclusion Ten years after ACLR,no significant differences are found in graft ma-turity,clinical outcomes,or joint stability between patients using autografts and allografts.Moreover,the rate of graft re-tear is comparable between the two groups.

Objective:To evaluate our self-designed pubic symphysis orthotic compression anatomic plate (PSOCAP) in the treatment of fractures and dislocations around the pubic symphysis.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted to analyze the 16 patients with fracture or dislocation around the pubic symphysis who had been treated by our self-designed PSOCAP at Department of Traumatic Surgery, Center for Orthopaedic Surgery, The Third Hospital Affiliated to Southern Medical University from January 2021 to June 2022. There were 8 males and 8 females with an age of (41±19) years. According to the Tile classification for pelvic fractures, there were 3 cases of type B1, 2 cases of type B3, 1 case of type C1.2, 4 cases of type C1.3, 3 cases of type C2, and 3 cases of type C3. There were 8 cases of pubic symphysis separation and 8 fractures of the pubic ramus (2 ones at Nakatani zone Ⅰ and 6 ones at Nakatani zone Ⅱ). Time from injury to surgery was 16 (11, 53) days, ranging from 4 to 348 days. The fractures or dislocations around the pubic symphysis were exposed by the modified Stoppa approach, reduced with the assistance of PSOCAP and fixated with PSOCAP; the posterior pelvic ring was reduced and fixated by corresponding surgical methods. Recorded were the surgical time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative quality of fracture reduction, surgical complications, and functional recovery at the last follow-up concerning the pelvic anterior ring.Results:Surgery went on successfully in the 16 patients. Their surgical time was (58±15) min, ranging from 40 to 90 min, and their intraoperative bleeding 85 (63, 150) mL, ranging from 50 to 250 mL. According to the Matta scoring, the fracture reduction was evaluated as excellent in 10 cases, as good in 3 cases and as fair in 3 cases. The (10±3)-month follow-up for the 16 patients revealed complete fracture union for all after (12±2) weeks. According to the Majeed scoring at the last follow-up, the pelvic function was evaluated as excellent in 5 cases, as good in 7 cases, and as fair in 4 cases. No such postoperative complications as fracture displacement or internal fixation failure occurred.Conclusion:Owing to the biplane and integrated structure, our self-designed PSOCAP can help reduce the fractures or dislocations around the pubic symphysis to achieve anatomical reduction and strong internal fixation, leading to good clinical efficacy.

Objective: To systematically evaluate effectiveness of exercises on inflammatory response among obese adolescents. Methods: By searching CNKI, PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCOhost and other databases, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the influence of different exercises on inflammatory indicators in obese adolescents were collected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cochrane evaluation tools were conducted methodological studies on the included literature quality evaluation, and RevMan 5.3 analysis software was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 21 RCTs were included, involving 1 020 subjects. The results of Meta analysis showed that aerobic training (AT) and aerobic plus resistance training (AT+RT) could significantly reduce BMI, serum C reactive protein (CRP) and leptin levels in obese adolescents. In addition, the effects of AT+RT on pro inflammatory CRP ( MD=-0.52, 95%CI=-0.75--0.30, P <0.01), leptin ( MD=-7.20, 95%CI=-10.45--3.94, P <0.01) and anti inflammatory adiponectin ( MD=1.28, 95%CI=1.01-1.55, P <0.01) were stronger than AT. High intensity interval training (HIIT) was associated with BMI reduction ( MD=-1.14, 95%CI=-1.92--0.36, P <0.01) and increased adiponectin in obese adolescents ( MD=1.79, 95%CI=1.09-2.50, P <0.01), and HIIT was superior in improving adiponectin level in obese adolescents than AT and AT+RT. Conclusion Long term and regular AT, AT+RT and HIIT can reduce inflammation in obese adolescents. HIIT is a notable exercise method for obese adolescents to resist inflammation.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) on prevention of chronic migraine (CM) in mice and explore the potential mechanism.Methods:Twenty-four male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control group, nitroglycerin (NTG) group, and BoNT/A+NTG group ( n=8). Mice in the latter two groups were intraperitoneally injected with 10 mg/kg NTG on the 1 st, 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th and 9 th d of experiments to establish CM models. Mice in the BoNT/A+NTG group were injected with 0.18 U/100 μL BoNT/A one h before the first injection of NTG. Mice in the control group were injected with the same dose of normal saline. Basal mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT) and evoked MWT 2 h after NTG in the facial and hindpaw regions on the 1 st, 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th and 9 th d of experiments were evaluated by von Frey filament test. The motor function of mice 2 h after NTG injection was tested by rotarod test on the 1 st, 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th and 9 th d of experiments. On 9 th d of experiments, the mice were sacrified; the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP25), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and TRP channel protein expressions in the trigeminal ganglia (TG) and trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC), and NOD-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammatory factor pathway-related protein expressions in TNC were detected by Western blotting; real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the NLRP3 inflammatory factor pathway-related mRNA expressions in TNC. The CGRP expression in TNC was detected by immunofluorescent staining. Results:(1) As compared with the control group, the NTG group had significantly decreased basal facial MWT on the 7 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05); as compared with the NTG group, the BoNT/A+NTG group had significantly increased basal facial MWT on the 7 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05). As compared with the control group, the NTG group had significantly decreased evoked facial MWT on the 5 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05); as compared with the NTG group, the BoNT/A+NTG group had significantly increased evoked facial MWT on the 5 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05). As compared with the control group, the NTG group had significantly decreased basal and evoked MWT in the hindpaw regions on the 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05); as compared with the NTG group, the BoNT/A+NTG group had significantly increased basal and evoked MWT in the hindpaw regions on the 3 rd, 5 th, 7 th and 9 th d of experiments ( P<0.05). (2) There was no significant difference in running time on rotarod among the three groups ( P>0.05). (3)Western blotting results showed that as compared with those in the control group, the CGRP and SNAP25 protein expressions were significantly increased in TG of the NTG group ( P<0.05); and those in the BoNT/A+NTG group were significantly decreased as compared with those in the NTG group ( P<0.05). As compared with those in the control group, the CGRP and NLRP3 protein expressions were significantly increased in TNC of NTG group ( P<0.05); and those in the BoNT/A+NTG group were significantly decreased as compared with those in the NTG group ( P<0.05). (4)RT-qPCR results showed that as compared with that in the control group, the IL-1β mRNA expression in TNC of the NTG group was significantly increased ( P<0.05), and that in the BoNT/A prevention group was statistically decreased as compared with that in the NTG group ( P<0.05). (5) Immunofluorescent staining results showed that as compared with that in the control group, the CGRP expression in TNC of the NTG group was significantly increased, and that in the BoNT/A+NTG group was significantly decreased as compared with that in the NTG group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:BoNT/A can reduce the SNAP25 expression in TG, reduce the CGRP release in TG and TNC, and prevent CM onset; BoNT/A can regulate NLRP3 level in TNC.

Objective: To explore the incidence and influencing factors of child emotional neglect, and to provide evidence for the relevant departments to prevent child emotional neglect. Methods: Stratified random cluster sampling method was used to select 1 354 parents from a county of Henan Province. Anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among them to investigate child emotional neglect, logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of emotional neglect. Results: The total incidence of child emotional neglect was 15.7%, and the rate of boys and girls was 14.7% and 16.8%, respectively, that of fathers and mothers was 18.3% and 15.1%, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences in rates between fathers and mothers’ emotional neglect behaviors, neither between boys and girls (χ2=1.18，3.14, P>0.05).90.2% parents could often/always console children when they were hurt or feared. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that risk factors of high emotional neglect incidence included living in rural areas, poorer family economic status, parents with lower social support and childhood neglect experience, biological parents are not married(OR=2.71, 2.56, 2.64, 2.66, 4.11, 1.76, P<0.05). Conclusion Parents’ emotional neglect of kindergarten children existed in the research area, attention should be paid to the emotional neglect of parents from rural areas, and parental education activities should be carried out to enhance parents’ parenting skills.
