Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in discriminating fumarate hydratase-deficient (FH-d) uterine leiomyomas (ULs) from FH-preserved ULs. Materials and Methods: This study consisted of three stages, with independent cohorts recruited for each stage: 1) sample-size estimation was retrospectively performed on UL specimens (diameter ≥3 cm; age, 20–40 years) from our database with immunohistochemistry (IHC) for 2-succinocysteine (2-SC) as the reference, without genetic testing, 2) MRS sequence optimization in confirmed FH germline mutation participants with ultrasound-detected ULs (diameter ≥3 cm), without IHC analysis, and 3) prospective diagnostic test accuracy was evaluated in consecutive participants with ultrasound-detected ULs (diameter ≥3 cm;age, 20–40 years), using IHC for 2-SC for determining the FH status and subsequent genetic testing in those with positive 2-SC results to identify whether FH mutations were germline or somatic in origin. The choline and fumarate peaks in MRS were classified as positive, negative, or technical failure (TF). TFs were analyzed separately and excluded from the primary diagnostic accuracy calculations. T1-, T2-, and diffusion-weighted images were interpreted as hyperintense or hypointense. The enhancement rate and apparent diffusion coefficient were also acquired. Diagnostic performance was compared between MRS and various magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features. Results: The optimal MRS parameters for the fumarate peak were echo time (TE) = 140 ms and an average of 256. Among the 360 prospective participants, 37 were confirmed to have FH-dULs. MRS showed positive fumarate peaks in 35 of 37 FH-dULs.After excluding six TFs, the positive fumarate peak on MRS showed 94.6% (35/37) sensitivity, 99.7% (316/317) specificity, and 99.2% (351/354) accuracy, all of which were significantly superior to those of other MRI features (P ≤ 0.002). Conclusion A positive fumarate peak on MRS may be a useful imaging biomarker for diagnosing FH-dULs.

Objective To determine the body weights and blood physiological and biochemical indicators in the Macaca mulatta brevicaudus(M.m.brevicaudus),to provide a reference for the breeding of experimental animals.Methods A total of 180 wild M.m.brevicaudus(female and male)from the South Bay Macaque Reserve in Lingshui were selected as the research subjects.Body weights were measured using electronic scales and blood samples were collected.Routine blood indicators(red blood cell count,hemoglobin,white blood cell count,and platelet count)were detected using an automated blood cell analyzer,and biochemical indicators(alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,glucose,blood urea nitrogen)were measured using an automated biochemical analyzer.Data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 software for descriptive statistics,and differences in body weights and blood indicators between sexes and age groups were compared using t-tests.Results Adult male wild M.m.brevicaudus were significantly heavier than females(P＜0.05);however,there were no significant differences in complete blood cell counts between female and male macaques(P＞0.05).In terms of blood biochemical indicators,lactate dehydrogenase and total bilirubin levels differed significantly between female and male M.m.brevicaudus(P＜0.05),but there were no significant differences in any other biochemical indicators.Conclusions This study established baseline data on the body weights and blood physiological and biochemical indicators of wild M.m.brevicaudus,providing a reference for their future breeding as experimental animals.

Objective:To study the epidemic characteristics and clinical symptoms of patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) in Shandong Province, and to provide a basis for further optimizing the clinical treatment strategies for HT.Methods:Data on HT patients admitted to Shandong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January 2018 to December 2023 were collected. A retrospective analysis was conducted to analyze their epidemiological characteristics, clinical symptoms, and auxiliary examination results.Results:A total of 192 HT patients' data were included, comprising 42 males (21.87%) and 150 females (78.13%). The average age of patients was 40.38 years old, ranging from 9 to 74 years old. Most patients resided in urban areas (129 cases, 67.19%). HT cases occurred throughout the year in every mouth, with higher incidence in June (32 cases, 16.7%) and July (20 cases, 10.4%), lower incidence in March (8 cases, 4.2%) and April (10 cases, 5.2%), and sporadic cases in other months. Based on clinical manifestations, among all HT patients, there were 66 cases (34.38%) of Hashitoxicosis type, 11 cases (5.73%) of pseudothyrotoxicosis type, 7 cases (3.65%) of exophthalmic type, 5 cases (2.60%) of subacute thyroiditis-like type, 3 cases (1.56%) of juvenile type, 35 cases (18.23%) of fibrous type, 39 cases (20.31%) of thyroid adenoma or carcinoma type, and 26 cases (13.54%) of other autoimmune diseases type. Based on disease progression, among all HT patients, there were 61 cases (31.77%) in the hyperthyroid phase, 16 cases (8.33%) in the hyperthyroid-hypothyroid coexisting phase, and 115 cases (59.90%) in the hypothyroid phase. Based on clinical symptoms, among all HT patients,there were 78 cases(40.62%) of neck mass symptoms, 101 cases (52.60%) of digestive system symptoms, and 95 cases (49.48%) of low metabolic symptoms. Laboratory tests revealed that 144 cases had elevated levels of both thyroglobulin antibody and thyroid peroxidase antibody. Color ultrasound examination showed strip-like echoes in the thyroid in 99 cases (51.56%) and grid-like echoes in 43 cases (22.40%). After treatment with antithyroid drugs or appropriate thyroid hormone supplementation, all 192 HT patients experienced symptom relief.Conclusions:HT patients in Shandong Province were predominantly female and urban residents. Common clinical symptoms included anterior neck swelling, constipation, fever, and weight gain. Early detection, diagnosis, and treatment could delay disease progression.

On this basis, a theoretical framework for factors influencing the use of intravenous therapy specialist nurses was constructed.Conclusions:This study constructs a theoretical framework for factors influencing the use of intravenous therapy specialist nurses. Managers can leverage this theoretical framework to develop targeted intervention strategies that enhance the effectiveness of intravenous therapy specialist nurses and optimize the allocation of nursing human resources.

The journal primarily reflects research achievements and academic trends in oncology, serving as an academic exchange platform for clinicians and researchers in the feild of oncology. On the 110th anniversary of the founding of CMA, the journal will be true to the original aspiration, keep the mission firmly in mind, and continue to make due contributions to the development of the prevention and treatment of malignancies in China. This article reviews the journal's developmental history, highlights its accomplishments, and outlines its vision for future growth in the new era.

As an independent first-level discipline,an appropriate classification of nursing science is significant.In China,each nursing degree-granting institution has developed its own secondary-level discipline directions based on its research characteristics and strengths,with varying names and research scopes.Furthermore,there is no unified global classification system.This paper,based on the characteristics of nursing as a discipline and combined with China's discipline classification principles,used literature analysis,comprehensive classification,philosophical reflection,logical reasoning,and expert consultation methods to explore the connotation of nursing,its unique research objects and scope,and to construct a secondary-level discipline classification system for nursing science that is suitable for China's national conditions.The paper also discussed the challenges faced by the nursing discipline and its future development directions,providing theoretical and practical guidance for the development of the nursing discipline.
