Objective: To analyze the association between insufficient sleep and score of depressive symptoms among junior and senior high school students, so as to provide a scientific reference for targeted early intervention measures of adolescents depressive symptoms. Methods: From September to November 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 96 080 junior and senior high school students from 409 schools in 113 districts and counties in Shaanxi Province. A questionnaire survey was conducted using the 2023 Shaanxi Provincial Common Student Diseases and Health Influencing Factors Survey Form, and their height and weight were measured. Propensity score (PS) matched (1∶1) analysis was used to match participants with insufficient sleep to those sufficient sleep students. Through the gradual correction of the confounders, three multilevel linear models were established to analyze the association between insufficient sleep and depressive symptoms score, and subgroup analysis was conducted afterward. Results: A total of 70 135 (73.00%) students had insufficient sleep. After PS matching, 25 894 pairs were matched. Before PS matching, after adjusting for gender, educational stage, region, adolescent characteristics, boarding status, smoking, alcohol consumption, outdoor activities and body mass index grouping, linear regression analysis results showed that compared with students who got adequate sleep, students who lacked sleep had an increase of 1.39 scores ( B=1.39, 95%CI =1.28-1.51) in depressive symptoms; after PS matching, students with insufficient sleep got an increase of 1.32 scores ( B=1.32, 95%CI =1.17- 1.45 ) in depressive symptoms score compared with those who had adequate sleep (both P <0.05). Conclusions The insufficient sleep is associated with the increase of the depressive symptoms score of junior and senior high school students. It is recommended that junior and senior high school students should keep a good sleeping habit, so as to reduce the prevalence of depressive symptoms.

Vein graft (VG) failure (VGF) is associated with VG intimal hyperplasia, which is characterized by abnormal accumulation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Most neointimal VSMCs are derived from pre-existing VSMCs via a process of VSMC phenotypic transition, also known as dedifferentiation. There is increasing evidence to suggest that ginger or its bioactive ingredients may block VSMC dedifferentiation, exerting vasoprotective functions; however, the precise mechanisms have not been fully characterized. Therefore, we investigated the effect of ginger on VSMC phenotypic transition in VG remodeling after transplantation. Ginger significantly inhibited neointimal hyperplasia and promoted lumen (L) opening in a 3-month VG, which was primarily achieved by reducing ferroptotic stress. Ferroptotic stress is a pro-ferroptotic state. Contractile VSMCs did not die but instead gained a proliferative capacity and switched to the secretory type, forming neointima (NI) after vein transplantation. Ginger and its two main vasoprotective ingredients (6-gingerol and 6-shogaol) inhibit VSMC dedifferentiation by reducing ferroptotic stress. Network pharmacology analysis revealed that 6-gingerol inhibits ferroptotic stress by targeting P53, while 6-shogaol inhibits ferroptotic stress by targeting 5-lipoxygenase (Alox5), both promoting ferroptosis. Furthermore, both ingredients co-target peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), decreasing PPARγ-mediated nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase 1 (Nox1) expression. Nox1 promotes intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and directly induces VSMC dedifferentiation. In addition, Nox1 is a ferroptosis-promoting gene that encourages ferroptotic stress production, indirectly leading to VSMC dedifferentiation. Ginger, a natural multi-targeted ferroptotic stress inhibitor, finely and effectively prevents VSMC phenotypic transition and protects against venous injury remodeling.

Objective:To analyze the screening results of the Urban Cancer Early Diagnosis and Treatment Project in Qinghai Province from 2019 to 2024.Methods:A summary and statistical analysis were conducted on six years of screening data from the Urban Cancer Early Dia-gnosis and Treatment Program in Qinghai Province,with the high-risk rate,screening rate,and detection rate calculated separately for each type of cancer.Results:From 2019 to 2024,56,882 high-risk individuals were identified.The high-risk rates for lung,colorectal,breast,up-per gastrointestinal,and liver cancer were 22.02%,21.57%,14.23%,13.52%,and 6.10%,respectively.Overall,13,592 individuals com-pleted clinical screening,with detection rates of 0.32%for lung cancer,0.41%for liver cancer,0.08%for precancerous gastric lesions,3.63%for precancerous colorectal lesions,0.08%for esophageal cancer,0.16%for gastric cancer,and 0.14%for colorectal cancer.Conclusions:The implementation of the Urban Cancer Early Diagnosis and Treatment Program in Qinghai Province aids in the early detection of cancer,improves early diagnosis and survival rates,and reduces mortality.Nevertheless,due to low public awareness and limited participation,en-hancements in program management and public outreach are required.

Clinical data of the pedigree were collected, and whole-genome exom sequencing was performed on the proband. Suspected variant loci were screened, and Sanger sequencing was used to validate the variant in pedigree members. Bioinformatics analysis was performed on the variant loci. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Tongji Hospital of Tongji University(Ethics No.K-W-2024-004).Results:① The proband is a 67-year-old female with clinical features of DD, such as keratotic papules in sebaceous areas. ② Whole-genome exom sequencing revealed a missense variant, c. 68G>A (p.Gly23Glu), in the exon 1 of ATP2A2 gene of the proband. Sanger sequencing showed that the proband′s eldest daughter also carried this variant. This variant was not detected in other pedigree members, indicating a co-segregation of the variant with the disease phenotype in the pedigree. ③ According to the interpretation principles of gene variants by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), this variant was classified as pathogenic (PS1+ PM1+ PM2_Supporting+ PP1+ PP3+ PP4). Conclusions:The c. 68G>A (p.Gly23Glu) variant in the ATP2A2 gene may be the genetic cause of the disease in this pedigree. This finding further enriches the genetic variant spectrum in DD patients and provides a basis for clinical diagnosis and genetic counseling for patients.

Objective To explore the application efficacy of dabigatran etexilate in anticoagulation for patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A total of 103 AF patients undergoing PCI in our hospital from February 2021 to Janu-ary 2023 were recruited,and based on different anticoagulation regimens,they were divided into routine group(warfarin,52 cases)and dabigatran etexilate group(dabigatran etexilate,51 cases).The coagulation function indicators[prothrombin time(PT),active partial thromboplasting time(APTT),thrombin time(TT),fibrinogen(FIB)].cardiac function[left ventricular ejection frac-tion(LVEF),cardiac index,cardiac output],vascular endothelial function[nitric oxide(NO),en-dothelin-1(ET-1)],serum tissue-type plasminogen activator(t-PA),plasminogen activator inhib-itor-1(PAI-1)and Rac-related protein(Rac1)levels before and after treatment,and the incidences of adverse cardiovascular events(acute myocardial infarction,sudden cardiac death,ischemic stroke,pulmonary embolism,lower extremity deep venous thrombosis)and bleeding events in 1 year after surgery were compared between the two groups.Results After 2 months of treatment,LVEF,cardiac index,cardiac output,PT,APTT,TT and NO level were significantly increased while the FIB,ET-1,t-PA,PAI-1 and Rac1 levels were significantly decreased in the two groups(P＜0.05).At the moment,the dabigatran etexilate group had obviously higher LVEF,cardiac in-dex,cardiac output,longer PT,APTT and TT,and elevated NO level,while remarkably lower FIB,ET-1,t-PA,PAI-1 and Rac1 levels than the routine group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The incidence of bleeding events was significantly lower in the dabigatran etexilate group than the routine group(5.9％vs 19.2％,P＜0.05).Conclusion Dabigatran etexilate can effectively improve the coagula-tion function of AF patients after PCI,has a certain protective effect on vascular endothelial func-tion and cardiac function,and can reduce the risk of bleeding,which provides a reference for the selection of clinical anticoagulation regimen.
