The American Heart Association (AHA) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in collaboration with multiple professional organizations, jointly released the "Guideline for the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults" in August 2025. Based on the latest evidence-based medical findings from February 2015 to January 2025, the guideline proposes an individualized treatment strategy grounded in total cardiovascular disease risk stratification, incorporates the novel PREVENT risk assessment model, lowers the medication initiation threshold and control targets for high-risk populations, and provides specific management recommendations for special populations. This article provides an interpretation of these updates and conducts a comparative analysis with the current status of hypertension prevention and treatment in China as well as Chinese guidelines, aiming to offer reference for hypertension control practices in China.

The American Heart Association (AHA) officially released the "2025 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics: A Report of US and Global Data From the American Heart Association" on January 27, 2025. This report systematically compiles the latest statistics on major cardiovascular diseases worldwide, while simultaneously integrating relevant outcome indicators, including quality of care, procedures, and economic costs, and updating the global prevalence patterns and evolving trends of diverse risk factors impacting cardiovascular health, providing essential guidance for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Synthesizing insights from this pivotal report and other relevant studies, this article highlights key findings concerning the global prevalence and mortality of heart diseases, associated risk factors, and emerging diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.

AIM:To compare and analyze the effectiveness and safety of reducing the diameter of the back optical zone diameter(BOZD)of orthokeratology lens designed by CRT and VST in controlling the progression of myopia in children and adolescents.METHODS:Retrospective study. The study subjects were 400 myopia patients aged 8-16 years who were admitted to the orthokeratology fitting center of our hospital from June 2019 to May 2022, with 400 eyes(including right eye data analysis). The subjects were divided into CRT-S group(BOZD<6.0 mm), CRT group(BOZD=6.0 mm), VST-S group(BOZD<6.2 mm), VST group(BOZD=6.2 mm)according to the brand of orthokeratology lens and BOZD group, with 100 cases in each group. Uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA), corneal flat K value, axial length, spherical equivalent, and incidence of corneal injury were collected and analyzed at 1 d, 1 wk, 1 and 6 mo, 1 and 2 a, respectively.RESULTS:After wearing lenses for 1 d, the UCVA of the VST-S group improved the fastest, but after 1 wk, all groups reached a good UCVA, and there was no significant difference between groups. The corneal flat K value of the CRT-S group decreased the most after wearing lenses for 6 mo, and there was no significant difference in the corneal flat K value of all groups after 1 year of lens wearing. At each time point, the axial length growth decreased significantly after reducing the BOZD of the same brand of orthokeratology lens. At 6 mo, there was no significant difference in the axial length growth and defocus ring diameter between the CRT-S group and the VST-S group, but at 1 and 2 a, the VST-S group had significantly lower axial length growth and defocus ring diameter than the CRT-S group. The growth of the diopter sphere and spherical equivalent(SE)was significantly reduced when the BOZD of the same brand of orthokeratology lens was reduced at 2 a follow-up. The VST-S group had the smallest changes in the degree of SE and had the best myopia control effect. There was no significant difference in the change value of the diopter cylinder and the incidence of corneal injury among the four groups.CONCLUSION:Reducing the BOZD of the orthokeratology lens can effectively control the growth of the axial length and the progression of myopia degree. The myopia control effect of the VST lens is better than that of the CRT lens after reducing the BOZD. Reducing the BOZD of the orthokeratology lens does not increase the risk of additional corneal injury.

Aromatic Chinese medicinal essential oils are volatile oils extracted from aromatic Chinese herbs， which can prevent and treat respiratory infectious diseases through multiple synergistic mechanisms including pathogen inhibition， immune regulation， and inflammatory response regulation. Essential oils are primarily used externally on the body to prevent infections and alleviate symptoms through methods like inhalation， smearing， topical application， bathing， gargling or as a suppository. They can also be utilized in the environment for disinfection and air purification， through methods like diffusion， vaporization， or spraying. The external application of essential oils extracted from Chinese aromatic herbs has the advantages of convenience， quick absorption， and simultaneous influence on both the body and mind. However， there are still challenges and deficiencies in aspects such as the positioning of functions， indications， safety， and the research on the mechanism of action. It has been proposed to combine the theory of aromatic Chinese medicinals with the characteristics of essential oils， and formulate prescriptions of Chinese medicinal essential oils under the principles of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation， and prevent and treat respiratory infectious diseases efficiently， accurately， and safely， thereby expanding the clinical application of aromatic Chinese medicinals and the preventive theory of traditional Chinese medicine.

We aimed to evaluate the health benefits, cost-effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of HCV elimination. Methods: Using an HCV transmission compartmental model, we evaluated the benefits and costs of different strategies combining screening and treatment for Chinese populations. We identified strategies to achieve HCV elimination and calculated the incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICERs) per disability-adjusted life year (DALY) averted for 2022–2030 to identify the optimal elimination strategy. Furthermore, we estimated the ROI by 2050 by comparing the required investment with the economic productivity gains from reduced HCV incidence and deaths. Results: The strategy that results in the most significant health benefits involves conducting annual primary screening at a rate of 14%, re-screening people who inject drugs annually and the general population every five years, and treating 95% of those diagnosed (P14-R4-T95), preventing approximately 5.75 and 0.44 million HCV infections and deaths, respectively, during 2022–2030. At a willingness-to-pay threshold of $12,615, the P14-R4-T95 strategy is the most cost-effective, with an ICER of $5,449/DALY. By 2050, this strategy would have a net benefit of $120,997 million (ROI=0.868). Conclusions Achieving HCV elimination in China by 2030 will require significant investment in large-scale universal screening and treatment, but it will yield substantial health and economic benefits and is cost-effective.

Objective To investigate the clinical features of dyskinesia and related risk factors in female patients with Parkinson disease （PD）. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among the female patients who met the diagnostic criteria for PD at the outpatient service of PD in Aerospace Center Hospital， and demographic data and clinical data were collected and compared between groups， including levodopa equivalent daily dose （LEDD）， Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale-Ⅲ（UPDRS-Ⅲ）， UPDRS-Ⅳ， scores of non-motor symptoms （cognition and depression）， presence or absence of dyskinesia， and single levodopa dose （LD） during the onset of dyskinesia. A binary logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the influencing factors for dyskinesia in female patients with PD. Results A total of 146 female PD patients were enrolled， among whom 30 patients had dyskinesia， with an incidence rate of 20.5%. Compared with the non-dyskinesia group in terms of clinical features， the dyskinesia group had a significantly younger age of onset [（54.3±12.5） years vs （62.7±10.0） years， P<0.001]， a significantly longer disease duration [（9.9±3.7） years vs （4.5±3.7） years， P<0.001]， a significantly higher severity of disease [H-Y stage： （2.65±0.58） vs （2.35±0.83）， P=0.03]， a significantly longer duration of LD administration [（7.5±3.2） years vs （3.2±2.6） years， P<0.001]， a significantly higher LEDD [（703.2±203.9） mg vs （442.1±226.3） mg， P<0.001]， and significantly lower body weight [（54.1±8.2） kg vs （60.0±8.7） kg， P=0.001] and BMI [（20.9±3.1） kg/m2 vs （23.4±3.1） kg/m2， P<0.001]. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that high BMI （OR=0.770， P=0.005） was a protective factor against dyskinesia in female PD patients， while long disease duration （OR=1.304， P=0.001） and high LEDD （OR=1.003， P=0.012） were risk factors for dyskinesia. Conclusion There is a relatively high incidence rate of dyskinesia in female PD patients， which should be taken seriously in clinical practice， and high BMI is a protective factor， while long disease duration and high LEDD are risk factors for dyskinesia in female PD patients.

ObjectiveTo construct an intelligent model for literature screening， retrieval， and data extraction with a systematic review of coronary heart disease syndromes as an example， so as to improve the efficiency of evidence-based Chinese medicine research. MethodsBased on China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）， VIP and Wanfang Data Resource System， the articles related to coronary heart disease syndrome research published from January 1， 2000 to December 31， 2023 were retrieved. Automated tools were used to batch retrieve paper metadata. Using text similarity algorithms， papers were merged， deduplicated， and subjected to preliminary screening based on titles and abstracts. Further screening was performed using object detection and image processing technologies on the full texts and statistical tables. Natural language processing （NLP） techniques and pre-trained models were applied to extract information. ResultsThe initial search retrieved 56 255 coronary heart disease syndrome-related articles. By artificial intelligence-assisted preliminary and secondary screening， the manual verification scope was narrowed to 1075 articles. Ultimately， 646 coronary heart disease syndrome related studies were included manually. With accuracy verification showing over 90% consistency in semantic recognition and element decomposition processes， we achieved data extraction and standardization processing for both basic literature information and 38 syndrome element statistics. ConclusionBy incorporating natural language processing， pre-trained models， artificial intelligence image processing and other technologies， this study enabled efficient retrieval， screening and standardized data extraction of Chinese medicine research literature.
