Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2026;34(4):328-337
Objective:
To investigate the effect of different surface treatment protocols on the surface properties and immediate shear bond strength (SBS) between 3D-printed zirconia and resin cement to provide a reference for clinical practice.
Methods:
Disc-shaped zirconia specimens (Ø 14 mm× 1.2 mm) with two different surface designs were fabricated using 3D printing technology: a smooth surface (Group S) and microporous surface (Group M), with 40 specimens in each group. Each group was further randomly divided into four subgroups according to surface treatment: untreated (Subgroup U), alumina sandblasting (Subgroup ST), alumina sandblasting + Z-Prime ceramic primer (Subgroup ZP), and alumina sandblasting + Monobond N ceramic primer (Subgroup MN). The surface morphology was examined, roughness was measured, and wettability was evaluated via contact-angle testing. Composite resin cylinders (Ø 3.5 mm× 2.0 mm) were bonded to the zirconia surfaces with resin cement. Immediate SBS was determined by shear testing, and failure modes were analyzed.
Results:
Scanning electron microscopy revealed clear micro-grooves (2-5 μm wide) in Subgroup S-U and micropores (approximately 400 μm in diameter) in Subgroup M-U. After sandblasting, the micro-grooves in Subgroup S-ST were partially destroyed with some micro-cracks, while the microporous structure in Subgroup M-ST remained clear. Compared with Subgroups S-U and M-U, sandblasted zirconia specimens (Subgroups S-ST, S-ZP, S-MN, M-ST, M-ZP, M-MN) showed significantly increased roughness and decreased contact angles. Different surface treatments significantly affected SBS between 3D-printed zirconia and resin. Sandblasted groups (Subgroups S-ST and M-ST) had significantly higher SBS than untreated groups (Subgroups S-U and M-U). The application of ceramic primers after sandblasting (Subgroups S-ZP, S-MN, M-ZP, M-MN) further increased SBS; however, there was no statistically significant difference in SBS between the two primers used after sandblasting (Subgroup S-ZP vs. S-MN, Subgroup M-ZP vs. M-MN). Under the same surface treatment, microporous surface groups (Subgroups M-U, M-ST, M-MN, M-ZP) all exhibited significantly higher SBS than smooth surface groups (Subgroups S-U, S-ST, S-MN, S-ZP).
Conclusion
Fabricating a microporous surface using 3D printing technology can improve resin bonding effectiveness. Sandblasting combined with a ceramic primer yields the highest immediate SBS.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy of oral administration of modified Tuoli Xiaodusan on postoperative patients with perianal abscess, and its effects on related inflammatory factors and signal transducers and activators of transcription protein 3 (STAT3)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathways. MethodsFrom January 2023 to December 2023 in Inner Mongolia hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, 60 postoperative patients with perianal abscess who met the inclusion criteria were selected. They were divided into a treatment group and a control group using the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, while the treatment group received additional treatment with modified Tuoli Xiaodusan on the basis of the control group. The course of treatment in both groups was three weeks. On the day of operation and on the 7th, 14th and 21st day after operation, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to measure the expression levels of serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological morphology of pathological tissue. Western blot was used to measure the levels of phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) proteins, and real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) was used to determine the expression level of VEGF mRNA. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared according to the wound pain, secretion volume score, and healing rate of patients on the 3rd, 7th, 14th, and 21st day after operation. ResultsThe total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). For intra-group comparison, the pain score of the control group decreased at each time period (P<0.05), and the healing rate increased (P<0.05). The secretion volume score decreased on the 14th and 21st days after operation (P<0.05). The pain score and secretion volume score of the treatment group decreased at each time period (P<0.05), and the healing rate increased (P<0.05). The levels of various inflammatory factors decreased in both groups (P<0.05). Compared with those on the surgical day, the levels of p-STAT3 and VEGF proteins in the wound tissue of the two groups were different on the 7th and 21st days after operation (P<0.05). There were significant differences in VEGF mRNA levels in wound tissue between the two groups at each time period (P<0.01). For inter-group comparison, on the 7th and 14th days after operation, the pain score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group. On the 7th, 14th and 21st days after operation, the secretion volume scores and healing rate of the treatment group were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). The levels of various inflammatory factors in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the decline rate was faster (P<0.05). On the 7th day after operation, the levels of p-STAT3, VEGF protein, and VEGF mRNA in the wound tissue of the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). HE staining showed that the inflammatory cell infiltration in the treatment group decreased faster. The cell arrangement was more orderly, and new blood vessel lumens were visible. There were no abnormalities in the safety observation indexes of all patients during the study period. ConclusionModified Tuoli Xiaodusan can relieve wound pain after perianal abscess surgery, reduce secretions, and improve wound healing rate. The mechanism may be reducing the levels of serum IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α, reducing the inflammatory response of the wound, upregulating the expression of p-STAT3 and VEGF proteins, and stimulating the STAT3/VEGF signaling pathway, thereby accelerating angiogenesis and promoting wound healing.

ObjectiveTo investigate the status of overlapping hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and the serological characteristics of such patients. MethodsA total of 8 637 patients with HCV infection who were hospitalized from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2020 and had complete data of HBV serological markers were enrolled, and the composition ratio of patients with overlapping HBV serological markers was analyzed among the patients with HCV infection. The patients were divided into groups based on age and year of birth, and serological characteristics were analyzed, and the distribution of HBV-related serological characteristics were analyzed across different HCV genotypes. ResultsThe patients with HCV/HBV overlapping infection accounted for 5.85%, and the patients with previous HBV infection accounted for 48.10%; the patients with protective immunity against HBV accounted for 14.67%, while the patients with a lack of protective immunity against HBV accounted for 31.39%. The patients were divided into groups based on age: in the 0 — 17 years group, the patients with protective immunity against HBV accounted for 61.41% (304 patients); the 18 — 44 years group was mainly composed of patients with previous HBV infection (698 patients, 37.31%), the 45 — 59 years group was predominantly composed of patients with previous HBV infection (1 945 patients, 50.38%), and the ≥60 years group was also predominantly composed of patients with previous HBV infection (1 486 patients, 61.66%). The patients were divided into groups based on the year of birth: in the pre-1992 group, the patients with previous HBV infection accounted for 51.63% (4 112 patients); in the 1992 — 2005 group, the patients with protective immunity against HBV accounted for 54.72% (168 patients); in the post-2005 group, the patients with protective immunity against HBV accounted for 64.38% (235 patients). In this study, 6 301 patients underwent HCV genotype testing: the patients with genotype 1b accounted for the highest proportion of 51.71% (3 258 patients), followed by those with genotype 2a (1 769 patients, 28.07%), genotype 3b (63 patients, 1.00%), genotype 3a (10 patients, 0.16%), genotype 4 (21 patients, 0.33%), and genotype 6a (5 patients, 0.08%). ConclusionWith the implementation of hepatitis B planned vaccination program in China, there has been a significant reduction in the proportion of patients with previous HBV infection among the patients with HCV/HBV overlapping infection, but there is still a relatively high proportion of patients with a lack of protective immunity against HBV.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2026;42(1):183-189
Hepatic fibrosis is a complex dynamic process caused by multiple chronic pathogenic factors, characterized by excessive accumulation of liver extracellular matrix and abnormal liver structure and function. If anti-fibrotic treatment is not performed in time, it can progress to liver cirrhosis and even liver cancer. Hepatic fibrosis has a complex pathogenesis, and previous studies mainly focused on the activation of hepatic stellate cells. Recent studies have shown that myeloid cells have the potential of multi-directional differentiation and can also participate in the development and progression of hepatic fibrosis. This article systematically reviews the role and regulatory mechanism of myeloid cells in hepatic fibrosis, in order to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and targeted therapy.
6.The biliary ecosystem: a holistic perspective on critical scientific issues regarding biliary tract surgeries and diseases
Chinese Journal of Surgery 2025;63(1):39-44
The establishment of modern biliary surgery system, alongside pivotal scientific paradigm shifts, has heralded a new era featured by precision, personalization, life-cycle care, and multidisciplinary management in the treatment of both benign and malignant biliary diseases. However, two formidable challenges persist in haunting the treatment of biliary diseases: (1) The refinement of surgical techniques has reached a plateau in reducing the disability associated with benign biliary conditions and in improving survival outcomes in biliary tract cancers; (2) Traditional evidence-based clinical studies have shown limited power in addressing complex dilemmas, such as determining whether to excise or preserve pathological gallbladders or selecting the optimal biliary drainage strategy. Consequently, the authors propose the conceptual framework of “biliary ecosystem”. In this model, diverse and abundant cholangiocytes represent forest, while blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic vessels serve as nurturing soil, biliary stem cells function as seeds, bile flows like river network, and hepatocytes mark the river′s origins. Both benign and malignant biliary diseases exhibit significant spatiotemporal dynamics. The bile ducts form the “macro” environment, bile constitutes the “sub-macro” environment, and diverse cellular niches create the microenvironment. Specific pathological biliary conditions are shaped by intricate regulatory mechanisms that operate across these three tiers. Within the biliary ecosystem, cellular subpopulations exist remarkable diversity with states of homeostasis, oscillation, perturbation, or imbalance, underpinned by complex signaling networks. This holistic approach allows us to reframe and critically examine the pressing scientific issues confronting biliary tract diseases. Based on this framework, the authors distill key scientific questions and offer preliminary recommendations for embracing the paradigm shift. The authors anticipate that this conceptual model will promote interdisciplinary integration and accelerate clinical and translational researches.

Hypochlorous acid/hypochlorite(HClO/ClO-)plays a key role in biological processes and is commonly used as a disinfectant in drinking water. However, excessive intake of HClO/ClO-can oxidize biomolecules like DNA,RNA,and proteins, causing organ damage.Diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's disease can also lead to overproduction of HClO/ClO-.Therefore,accurately detecting HClO/ClO-levels is crucial. In this study,an HClO/ClO-fluorescent probe,NC-TPA-PPh3,was designed and synthesized, with a triphenylamine core as the fluorescent unit,carbon-carbon double bonds as recognition sites, and a quaternary ammonium salt for mitochondria targeting, forming a D-π-A structure. This probe had a fluorescence lifetime of 3.71 ns and a fluorescence quantum yield of 0.51.Upon exposure to HClO/ClO-,the maximum fluorescence emission wavelength of the probe in DMSO/H2O(9∶1,V/V,pH=7.4)solution(20 μmol/L)shifted from 550 nm to 430 nm,with a fluorescence intensity increase of 35.7 times compared to blank probe solution, allowing for selective recognition of HClO/ClO-.The probe also exhibited a large Stokes shift(130 nm)and a low limit of detection(LOD)of 9.16×10-8 mol/L.Based on characterization by proton nuclear magnetic resonance(1H NMR),electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry(ESI-MS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and theoretical calculations,it was speculated that NC-TPA-PPh3 recognized HClO/ClO-through oxidative cleavage of the C=C bond in the probe, generating TPA-CHO with lower water solubility and a smaller conjugated structure. This disrupted the D-π-A structure, blocking intramolecular charge transfer(ICT),causing the fluorescence emission peak to blue-shift from 550 nm to 430 nm.Additionally, this process induced an aggregation-induced fluorescence effect, significantly enhancing the fluorescence intensity at 430 nm.
