Objective To explore the effectiveness of the cumulative sum (CUSUM) and the exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) for early warning of influenza epidemic using two datasets of reported influenza cases and influenza-like illness (ILI) cases. Methods Using the reported cases of influenza and ILI in Daxing District, Beijing, from week 23 of 2018 to week 22 of 2024 as data sets, the CUSUM and EWMA models were established, respectively. The positive rate of influenza etiology was used as the ^“gold standard^”, and the Youden index was used as the evaluation index to compare the early warning effect of the two models under different data sets and different parameters. Results In CUSUM, the optimal Youden indices of the reported influenza cases set and the ILI cases set were 0.751 and 0.635, respectively. In EWMA, the optimal Youden indices of the reported influenza cases set and the ILI cases set were 0.544 and 0.464, respectively. The optimal EWMA and CUSUM models could both issue early warning signals in advance of the ^“gold standard^”. Conclusion In the influenza epidemic early warning in Daxing District, Beijing, the CUSUM model established with the reported cases of influenza can achieve good early warning effects, but the model parameters need to be dynamically adjusted according to the local epidemic characteristics.

Objective: To statistically analyze the association between blood donation intervals and the incidence of adverse reactions to blood donation based on blood donor data from Shenzhen. Methods: Basic data and records of adverse reactions to blood donation among voluntary whole blood donors in Shenzhen from January 2017 to June 2025 were extracted. A total of 795 404 whole blood donations were recorded, including 502 743 from males and 292 661 from females, with 1 088 and 751 cases of adverse reactions, respectively. Analyses were performed using R software, including restricted cubic spline (RCS), binary logistic regression, and generalized estimating equations (GEE) to evaluate the correlation between donation intervals and adverse reactions. Results: A total of 1 839 cases of adverse reactions were recorded, accounting for 0.23% of the total donations. Both binary logistic regression analysis and the generalized estimating equations (GEE) model showed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between male and female donors with an interval of ≥6 months compared to those with an interval of ≥3 months but<6 months. Furthermore, using the 3-5 month interval group as the reference, the analysis indicated that the incidence of adverse reactions significantly increased in males with a 9-12 month interval, while no statistically significant differences were observed across any of the female subgroups. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between adverse reactions to blood donation and the donation interval. Compared with a donation interval of ≥6 months, an interval of<6 months does not lead to an increase in the incidence of adverse reactions among male or female donors. The findings of this study may help enhance the willingness of blood donors to participate.

Both binary logistic regression and GEE model revealed that, compared with the≤55 years age group, the incidence of adverse reactions was reduced in both male and female donors in the >55 years age group, with the difference being statistically significant in males. Using the <23 years age group as a reference, the incidence of adverse reactions significantly decreased in both male and female donors across the 23-30, 31-40, 41-50, and 51-60 age groups, with the differences being statistically significant. Conclusion: There is a negative correlation between the rate of adverse donation reactions and age, with the incidence of such reactions among whole blood donors over 55 years old being no higher than that among donors aged 55 years or younger. These findings carry positive significance for safeguarding the donation rights of older donors and meeting clinical blood demand.

Objective: To analyze the effects of maternal gestational weight gain and pre pregnancy body mass index (BMI) on the weight of preschool children,so as to provide scientific basis for prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity in children. Methods: Based on Jiangmen maternal and child health information platform, annual physical examination data of 3-6 years old preschool children from all nurseries and kindergartens in Jiangmen were collected from January to December 2024. A unique identification was made according to the mother s ID number and delivery date, and retrospective data collection was conducted on the platform to obtain pre pregnancy and pregnancy related information for 46 481 mothers. The Chi-square test,two way ordered variable analysis and Logistic regression analysis were used to compare the effects of maternal pre pregnancy BMI and gestational weight gain on overweight and obesity among preschool children. Results: A total of 5 168 (11.12%) children were overweight and obese, and the proportion of overweight and obesity in the 6 year old group was the highest (12.86%). There were significant differences in the detection rates of overweight and obesity between boys and girls ( χ 2=155.38), and there were also significant gender differences in the age groups of 4, 5 and 6 years ( χ 2=17.08, 96.97, 66.27)(all P <0.01). Through trend χ 2 test, the overall detection rates of overweight and obesity, as well as those for boys, increased with age ( χ 2 trend =49.36,60.54, both P <0.01). The BMI group of preschool children was correlated with the BMI group of their mothers before pregnancy and the weight gain group during pregnancy （χ 2= 1 250.64, 157.01, both P <0.01) and the proportion of children with higher BMI levels showed an upward trend with the improvement of their mothers pre-pregnancy BMI levels or gestational weight gain levels ( Gamma =0.13, 0.10, both P <0.01). Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that pre pregnancy BMI groups as overweight ( OR =1.590, 1.922), obesity ( OR =2.100, 2.921 ), and male gender of the children ( OR =1.213, 1.763)，and newborns excessive birth weight( OR =1.001，1.001) increased the risks of overweight and obesity in preschool children; maternal gestational weight gain insufficiency ( OR =1.374) and advanced maternal age at the first prenatal visit ( OR =1.012) increased the risks of obesity in preschool children; maternal gestational weight gain deficiency or excess ( OR =1.324,1.118) increased the risk of overweight in preschool children (all P <0.01). Conclusions Maternal pre-pregnancy overweight and obesity and insufficient or excessive gestational weight gain increase the risk of overweight and obesity in preschool children. It is necessary to strengthen weight management before and during pregnancy to reduce the occurrence of childhood overweight and obesity.

The red doctor culture runs through the development process of China’s red health undertakings. It is a unity of revolutionary culture， health culture， and educational culture， providing rich educational resources for ideological and political education in medical colleges and universities. From the perspective of historical logic， red doctor culture is rooted in the traditional medical ethics thought of “medicine is the art of benevolence” in ancient China， as well as has evolved alongside the century-long development of the health and well-being undertakings led by the Communist Party of China. From the perspective of theoretical logic， red doctor culture is closely related to Xi Jinping Thought on Culture， the principle of the dialectical relationship between social existence and social consciousness， and the theory of cultural leadership. From the perspective of practical logic， it is necessary to clarify the practical path from three aspects， namely accurately grasping the Marxist theoretical foundation of the red doctor culture and highlighting its orientation of the ideological and political education of medical students； making effective use of existing resources of red doctor culture to improve the content of ideological and political education and consolidate the foundation of red doctor literacy； optimizing the construction of teaching teams for ideological and political theory courses in medical colleges and universities. From the perspective of value orientation， the red doctor culture is conducive to cultivating the professional ethics spirit of medical students， meeting the teaching needs of ideological and political theory courses in medical colleges and universities， and assisting the construction of the healthy China initiative.

[Objective] To conduct a retrospective statistical comparison of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) test values in blood donors prior to blood collection, aiming to analyze the objective characteristics of the population with elevated ALT levels (ALT>50 U/L) and provide reference data for adjusting the screening eligibility threshold for ALT. [Methods] The preliminary ALT screening data of 30 341 blood donor samples collected prior to blood donation from three smart blood donation sites at the Shenzhen Blood Center between 2022 and 2023 were extracted and compared with data from a health examination department of a tertiary hospital in Shenzhen (representing the general population, n=24 906). Both datasets were categorized and statistically described. A retrospective analysis was conducted to examine the associations between ALT test results and factors such as donors' gender, age, ethnicity, donation site, donation season, and frequency of blood donation. [Results] The ALT levels in both blood donors and the general population were non-normally distributed. The 95th percentile of ALT values was calculated as 61.4 U/L (male: 67.8 U/L, female: 39.3 U/L) for blood donors and 58.1 U/L (male: 63.7 U/L, female: 51.2 U/L) for the general population. The non-compliance rates (ALT>50 U/L) were 7.65% (2 321/30 341) in blood donors and 7.08% (1 763/24 906) in the general population. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in the ALT failure rate among blood donors based on gender, age, and donation site, but no significant differences (P>0.05) during the blood donation season. There was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) in the positive rates of four serological markers (HBsAg, anti HCV, HIV Ag/Ab, anti TP) for blood screening pathogens between ALT unqualified and qualified individuals (2.05% vs 1.5%). If the ALT qualification threshold was raised from 50 U/L to 90 U/L, the non qualification rates of male and female blood donors would decrease from 9.82% (2 074/21 125) to 2.23% (471/21 125) and from 2.70% (249/9 216) to 0.75% (69/9 216), respectively. Among the 154 blood donors who donated blood more than 3 times, 88.31% of the 248 ALT test results were in the range of 50-90 U/L. Among them, 9 cases had ALT>130 U/L, and ALT was converted to qualified in subsequent blood donations. [Conclusion] There are differences in the ALT failure rate among blood donors of different genders and ages, and different blood donation sites and operators can also affect the ALT detection values of blood donors. The vast majority of blood donors with ALT failure are caused by transient and non pathological factors. With the widespread use of blood virus nucleic acid testing, appropriately increasing the ALT qualification threshold for blood donors can expand the qualified population and alleviate the shortage of blood sources, and the risk of blood safety will not increase.

[Objective] To investigate the factors associated with alanine aminotransferase (ALT) abnormalities in multi-ethnic blood donors across five Zang autonomous prefectures in the plateau regions of Qinghai Province, and to provide evidence for ensuring blood safety and formulating screening strategies. [Methods] A retrospective analysis was performed on the ALT abnormal test results of blood donors in the Zang autonomous prefectures of Qinghai from 2022 to 2024. The correlations between ALT levels and factors including gender, age, altitude, and infectious markers were investigated. [Results] The overall ALT unqualified rate among blood donors in this region was 9.01%. Significant differences in ALT levels were observed across genders and age groups (P<0.05). Variations in ALT abnormality rates were also noted among different plateau regions (P<0.05). Overall, ALT values exhibited an increasing trend with rising altitude. The average ALT unqualified rates were 11.19% in Zang donors, 7.96% in Han donors, and 4.79% in donors from other ethnic groups (P<0.05). No statistically significant association was observed between ALT abnormality and the presence of HBV/HCV infectious markers (P>0.05). [Conclusion] In the plateau areas of Qinghai, multi-ethnic blood donors have a relatively high ALT levels and ALT unqualified rates, showing distinct regional characteristics. ALT elevation in voluntary blood donors is related to non-pathological factors such as gender, age, and dietary habits, but not to infectious indicators.

Objective To investigate the impact of donor kidney histopathological lesions on the risk of BK virus (BKV) infection and progression after kidney transplantation. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 326 kidney transplant recipients from deceased donors at the Department of Kidney Transplantation, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, from January 2019 to June 2020. The recipients were divided into two groups based on whether BKV infection occurred after kidney transplantation: the BKV infection group (145 cases) and the non-BKV infection group (181 cases). The correlation between donor kidney histopathological findings from zero-hour biopsy and BKV infection, as well as the impact on the risk and progression of BKV infection, was analyzed. Results The incidence of BKV infection among the 326 kidney transplant recipients was 44.5% (145/326). The clearance rate of BKV after infection was 82.1% (119/145), while 17.9% (26/145) progressed to BKV viremia. Among the 326 qualified kidney biopsy specimens, 32 cases showed mild tubular atrophy, 324 cases had mild acute tubular injury, 27 cases exhibited mild hyaline arteriosclerosis, 10 cases had moderate to severe hyaline arteriosclerosis, 7 cases showed mild interstitial inflammation, 23 cases had mild interstitial fibrosis, 6 cases exhibited mild arterial intimal fibrosis, and 1 case had moderate to severe arterial intimal fibrosis. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that male recipients, donor age and tubular atrophy were independent risk factors for BKV infection (all P<0.05). Tubular atrophy was also an independent risk factor for the progression from BKV uria to BKV viremia (P<0.05). Conclusions Donor kidney histopathological lesions have a certain impact on BKV infection and progression after kidney transplantation. Patients with more severe tubular atrophy in donor kidneys have a higher risk of BKV infection after kidney transplantation and are more likely to progress to BKV viremia.

This article summarizes the rapid rehabilitation nursing experience for one pediatric pa-tient with pancreatic divisum who underwent en bloc pancreatoduodenectomy preserving the duodenum,common bile duct,and Oddi's sphincter(DCOPPHTR).The nursing care encompassed preoperative prehabilitation to enhance physical and psychological preparation,postoperative precise volume and dynamic blood glucose management,early mobilization to facilitate recovery,personalized nutritional support to improve nutritional status,psychological nursing to bolster confidence,and family involve-ment to enhance quality of life.The pediatric patient experienced rapid recovery and was discharged from the hospital.A six-month follow-up indicated a significant improvement in quality of life.

Lirispirolides A-L (1-12), twelve novel sesquiterpene-monoterpene heterodimers featuring distinctive carbon skeletons, were isolated from the branches and leaves of Chinese tulip tree [Liriodendron chinense (L. chinense)], a rare medicinal and ornamental plant endemic to China. The structural elucidation was accomplished through comprehensive spectroscopic analyses, quantum-chemical calculations, and X-ray crystallography. These heterodimers exhibit a characteristic 2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one structural motif, biosynthetically formed through intermolecular [4 + 2]-cycloaddition between a germacrane-type sesquiterpene and an ocimene-type monoterpene. The majority of the isolated compounds demonstrated significant anti-neuroinflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced BV-2 microglial cells by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory mediators, specifically tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and nitric oxide (NO). Further investigation revealed that the lirispirolides' inhibition of NO release correlated with decreased messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expression of inducible NO synthase (iNOS).
