Natural antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising candidates for the development of a new generation of antimicrobials to combat antibiotic-resistant pathogens. They have found extensive applications in the fields of medicine, food, and agriculture. However, efficiently screening AMPs from natural sources poses several challenges, including low efficiency and high antibiotic resistance. This review focuses on the action mechanisms of AMPs, both through membrane and non-membrane routes. We thoroughly examine various highly efficient AMP screening methods, including whole-bacterial adsorption binding, cell membrane chromatography (CMC), phospholipid membrane chromatography binding, membrane-mediated capillary electrophoresis (CE), colorimetric assays, thin layer chromatography (TLC), fluorescence-based screening, genetic sequencing-based analysis, computational mining of AMP databases, and virtual screening methods. Additionally, we discuss potential developmental applications for enhancing the efficiency of AMP discovery. This review provides a comprehensive framework for identifying AMPs within complex natural product systems.

Dental implantology has developed rapidly for over half a century, since pure titanium(99.7%)dental cylindrical threaded implants were exploited and osseointegration was introduced in 1960s by Prof.Br?nemark.The long term retention rates of 10 years or more are over 95%.However,the biological complications jeopardize the long term effects of dental implant treatment seriously. The prevalence of dental implant biological complications varies greatly among different reports resulting from the disparities on the defini-tions of dental implant biological complications. After analyzing and summarizing the major opinions proposed internationally in recent years, the consensus for the definition of dental implant biological complications has been reached.Generally the dental implant biologi-cal implications can be classified into early stage(before restoration)biological complications and late stage(after restoration)biological complications. The early stage biological complications include acute and chronic infections, pain, soft tissue deficiency, and osseointegration failure, etc. The late stage complications include peri-implant diseases(peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis),soft tissue deficiency around implant, implant loosening and dropping off, etc. The various risk factors related to different dental implant biological complications, the strategies of the prevention and treatment for the dental implant biological complications have been discussed comprehensively, and the consensus has been reached. It is aimed to advocate the dentist to pay more attention to the early prevention of the biological implant complications,to promote more researches on the implant biological complications, and to help elevate the level of dental implantology in our country.

Objective:To explore the effect and mechanism of CD147 on differentiation of circulating fibrocytes and its pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic function. Methods:Circulating fibrocytes were extracted from peripheral blood of asthma patients,stimu-lated with CD147,and intervened with CD147 antagonist AP-9 or p38/MAPK inhibitor SB203580.Cell viability was detected by CCK-8 method, cell migration was assessed by Transwell method, expressions of collagen type Ⅰ(COL-Ⅰ),CD45 and α-SMA were detected by immunofluorescence staining.Levels of cytokines such as TGF-β1,IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 were detected by ELISA,and expression levels of COL-Ⅰ,fibronectin(FN),α-SMA,p-TAK1,p-P38 and other proteins were detected by Western blot. Results:Low dose of CD147 increased cell viability of circulating fibrocytes.CD147 significantly promoted migration of circulating fibrocytes and induces their differentiation into myofibrocytes.CD147 significantly increased secretion of cytokines such as TGF-β1,IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 in circulating fibrocytes.CD147 significantly increased expressions of COL-Ⅰ,FN,α-SMA,p-TAK1,p-P38 in circulating fibrocytes.AP-9 or SB203580 significantly inhibited effect of CD147 on circulating fibrocytes.Conclusion:CD147 can promote proliferation,mi-gration,differentiation and pro-inflammatory and profibrotic function of circulating fibrocytes in vitro, and TAK1-p38/MAPK signaling pathway is involved in CD147-mediated regulation of circulating fibrocytes.

Radiotherapy is one of the main treatment methods for malignant tumors, which can cause the radiation damage to normal tissues. Radiation-induced skin injury (RISI) is one of the main adverse reactions caused by radiotherapy. The main clinical manifestations of RISI are dermatitis, ulcer, erosion and necrosis, which seriously affect the quality of life and treatment effect of tumor radiotherapy patients, and even affect the overall survival of patients. The pathological mechanism of RISI is still unclear. Some studies have shown that inflammation and oxidative stress are the main causes of RISI. RISI can be divided into acute and chronic RISI according to the different onset time, and different treatment strategies can be formulated according to the severity of the injury. In this article, clinical manifestations, classification, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of RISI are comprehensively summarized.

Objective:To evaluate the disinfection effect of high-energy pulse ultraviolet disinfection equipment in medical institution settings. Methods:The disinfection effect was evaluated through field tests and laboratory tests. Among them, 135 high-frequency contact points were selected from nine departments in the field test. Samples were collected before and after disinfection, and the disinfection effects of 75% alcohol wipes wiping disinfection, high-energy pulse ultraviolet disinfection robot disinfection and high-energy pulse ultraviolet handheld disinfection instrument were compared. In the laboratory test, 30 infected areas of the simulated test table were exposed to vertical ultraviolet irradiation and the bacterial-killing rate before and after disinfection was calculated. Results:In the field test, the bacteria-killing rates of 75% alcohol wipes, high-energy pulse ultraviolet disinfection robot and high-energy pulse ultraviolet handheld disinfection instrument were 94.99%, 91.53% and 95.94%, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant. The disinfection effect of the high-energy pulse ultraviolet handheld disinfection instrument was better than that of the high-energy pulse ultraviolet disinfection robot ( P values <0.05). In the laboratory test, the killing log value of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on the carrier were both greater than 3.00. In the simulated field test, the killing log value of Staphylococcus aureus on the surface samples were 4.99. Conclusion:Both the high-energy pulse ultraviolet handheld disinfection instrument and the high-energy pulse ultraviolet disinfection robot have good disinfection effects, which are similar to the disinfection effects of conventional 75% alcohol wipes.

Objective:To explore the current status of surgery for portal hypertension to grasp current status and future development of surgery in China. Methods:This study is jointly sponsored by China Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Specialist Alliance & Portal Hypertension Alliance in China (CHESS).Comprehensive surveying is conducted for basic domestic situations of surgery for portal hypertension, including case load, surgical approaches, management of postoperative complications, primary effects, existing confusion and obstacles, liver transplantation(LT), laparoscopic procedures and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS), etc. Results:A total of 8 512 cases of portal hypertension surgery are performed at 378 hospitals nationwide in 2021.Splenectomy plus devascularization predominated(53.0%)and laparoscopy accounted for 76.1%.Primary goal is preventing rebleeding(67.0%) and 72.8% of hospitals used preventive anticoagulants after conventional surgery. And 80.7% of teams believe that the formation of postoperative portal vein thrombosis is a surgical dilemma and 65.3% of hospitals practiced both laparoscopy and TIPS.The major reasons for patients with portal hypertension not receiving LT are due to a lack of qualifications for LT(69.3%)and economic factors(69.0%).Conclusions:Surgery is an integral part of management of portal hypertension in China. However, it is imperative to further standardize the grasp of surgical indications, the handling of surgical operation and the management of postoperative complications. Moreover, prospective, multi-center randomized controlled clinical studies should be performed.
