This paper investigates the challenges in medical consumables management under the multi-campus model,taking Zhaoqing Hospital of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University as a case study.Through literature analysis and practical research,it proposes a homogeneous management strategy from four dimensions:system construction,cost control,quality supervision,and informatization.Practice has shown that establishing a standardized management system and advancement of informatization can effectively improve the efficiency of consumables management,providing a reference for the homogeneous management of medical consumables in multi-campus public hospitals.

Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a common complication of stroke, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Therefore, early and accurate prediction of PSCI is crucial for implementing targeted intervention measures. Quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG), as a non-invasive and objective neurophysiological technique, can provide objective basis for early prediction and targeted intervention of PSCI during the critical period of 72 hours to 1 month after stroke onset. This article reviews the current application status of qEEG in predicting PSCI, aiming to provide theoretical basis for early identification of patients with high-risk PSCI.

Objective To develop a refined printer management system based on the PDCA cycle,aiming to improve both operational cost efficiency and medical service quality through full-process management.Methods A total of 400 printers in use at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University(Zhaoqing Hospital)were included from June 2024 to May 2025.The period from June to November 2024 was designated as the pre-refinement phase(under conventional management),while December 2024 to May 2025 served as the post-refinement phase(under PDCA-based refined management).A fishbone diagram was used to identify root causes of previous management inefficiencies,and targeted measures were developed and implemented.Outcomes were compared between the two phases.Results After implementing the PDCA cycle,the average equipment utiliza-tion rate increased by 5.41％,indicating optimized resource allocation.The average page yield per drum increased by 3.51％,reflecting improved consumable efficiency and reduced operational costs.The incidence of driver failures decreased by 34.71％,and operational issues dropped by 7.25％,demonstrating enhanced device reliability and system stability.Consultation-related work orders increased by 78.68％,and routine maintenance tasks rose by 30.62％,signaling a shift from reactive repairs to pro-active preventive maintenance.Conclusion The PDCA-based refined management model effectively enhances printer operational efficiency,reduces resource waste,and improves device reliability.This approach reinforces a patient-centered service philosophy by increasing the accuracy and efficiency of medical documentation output,thereby supporting safer and more efficient healthcare delivery.

Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a clinical syndrome characterized by cognitive impairment and even dementia that occurs within 3-6 months after the onset of stroke. The gut microbiota and its metabolites have been confirmed to be associated with PSCI. This article reviews associations of gut microbiota and its metabolites with PSCI, providing new ideas for early intervention and treatment of PSCI.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare hematological disease with typical clinical manifestations of thrombocytopenic purpura, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, neurological symptoms, fever and kidney damage. Two patients with TTP-associated cerebral infarction complicated with microhemorrhage and their shared specific imaging findings manifestations were reported. The magnetic resonance imaging of the 2 patients showed multiple cerebral infarctions at different stages. Susceptibility-weighted imaging showed cerebral microbleeds in the infarcted area. This special imaging feature can provide important clues for early identification and diagnosis of TTP nervous system injury.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between heart rate variability (HRV) and early neurological deterioration (END) and poor outcomes in patients with branch atheromatous disease (BAD).Methods:Patients with BAD admitted to the Department of Neurology, Weihai Municipal Hospital from September 2020 to September 2022 were enrolled prospectively. END was defined as an increase of ≥2 points in the total score of the National Institutes of Health Stroke scale (NIHSS) or an increase of ≥1 in motor item score within 72 h of admission compared with the baseline. Poor outcome was defined as the score of the modified Rankin Scale >2 at 6 months after the onset. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine whether HRV parameters were the independent influencing factors of END and poor outcomes in patients with BAD. Results:A total of 117 patients with BAD were enrolled, including 76 males (65.0%), aged 64.27±6.95 years. Thirty-eight patients (32.4%) had END, and 21 (17.9%) had poor outcomes. Percentage of the number of pairs of adjacent R-R intervals differentiating by more than 50 ms (pNN50), number of adjacent R-R intervals differentiating by more than 50 ms (NN50), power in low frequency range (LF) and power in high frequency range (HF) in the END group were significantly lower than those in the non-END group, and the LF/HF ratio was significantly higher than the non-END group (all P<0.05). The standard deviation of the R-R interval (SDNN), standard deviation of the average of R-R intervals in all 5-min segments (SDANN), and HF in the poor outcome group were significantly lower than those in the good outcome group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that HF (odds ratio [ OR] 0.994, 95% confidence interval [ CI] 0.991-0.998; P<0.001) was an independent protective factor of END in patients with BAD, and LF/HF ratio ( OR 1.455, 95% CI 1.056-2.005; P=0.022) was an independent risk factor for END in patients with BAD; SDANN ( OR 0.997, 95% CI 0.993-0.999; P=0.023) was an independent protective factor of good outcomes in patients with BAD. Conclusion:HF and LF/HF ratios are the independent influencing factors of END in patients with BAD, and SDANN is an independent influencing factor of the poor outcomes in patients with BAD, suggesting that autonomic dysfunction is involved in the pathophysiological mechanism of END and poor outcomes in patients with BAD.

BACKGROUND: Postoperative cholangitis is a common but severe complication after Kasai portoenterostomy for biliary atresia (BA). This study aimed to identify its prognostic factors. METHODS: Two sets of liver paraffin-embedded tissue samples were collected from BA patients who received Kasai portoenterostomy (n = 25 and n = 31, respectively). Patients were divided into non-cholangitis and cholangitis groups. The infiltration of CD4+, CD8+, CD45RO+, CD68+ cells and expression of Beclin1 were quantitatively evaluated in immunohistochemical analysis. RESULTS: Cholangitis group had a significantly lower CD8+ T cell infiltration but a higher CD45RO+ cell infiltration, and a lower Beclin1 level than non-cholangitis group (all P < 0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that infiltration of CD8+ cells (odds ratio [OR], 0.112; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.022–0.577) and CD45RO+ cells (OR, 3.88; 95% CI, 1.37–11.03), and Beclin1 level (OR, 0.088; 95% CI, 0.018–0.452) were independent influence factors for early postoperative cholangitis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis showed that area under ROC curve (AUROC) values for CD8+ cells, CD45RO+ cells and Beclin1 were 0.857, 0.738 and 0.900, respectively. CONCLUSION: Our findings demonstrated the CD8+ cells, CD45RO+ cells and Beclin1 level possessed the prognostic value for early postoperative cholangitis following Kasai operation, which may be helpful to develop new prevention and treatment strategies for postoperative cholangitis.

Objective To study the ways and effect of surgical treatment for recurrent hepatolithiasis. Methods The therapeutic patterns and the clinical effect were retrospectively analyzed for 163 patiens8 with recurrent hepatolithiasis from January 2004 to December 2006.The 86 patients were partical hepatectomy, the 77 patients were no hepatectomy. Results The excellent rate was 96.5%,the incidence of residual stone and recurrence was 5.8%and 1.2%respectively in partical hepatectomy-but 85.7%,15.6% and 11.7%in no hepatectomy. There were statistical significance between the partical hepatectomy and no hepatectomy(P＜0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of the partial hepatectomy is better than that of the nohepatectomy for the patients with gallstone.
