Gastric cancer remains a highly prevalent malignancy worldwide, with surgical resection currently constituting the cornerstone of treatment aimed at improving long-term patient survival. Owing to their notable advantages, including reduced surgical trauma and accelerated postoperative recovery, minimally invasive procedures are progressively supplanting conventional open surgery and have become the mainstream approach in gastric cancer management. Concurrently, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has enabled real-time intraoperative monitoring of surgical scenes, thereby furnishing novel technical support for adjunctive decision-making, surgical navigation, and skill assessment during gastrectomy. This article provides a systematic review of the current status of AI applications in minimally invasive gastric cancer surgery, with a particular focus on research progress pertaining to instrument recognition, surgical phase identification, delineation of normal anatomical structures, detection of metastatic foci, and early warning of intraoperative adverse events. Furthermore, we discuss the potential value of AI in enhancing surgical efficiency, ensuring patient safety, and optimizing surgical education. On this basis, we further analyze the principal challenges and inherent risks confronting current AI systems, with the aim of informing future technological innovation and facilitating clinical translation.

Objective:To Exploring the protective effect of hearing protectors worn by noise workers in the petrochemical industry and the factors affecting the protective effect of hearing protectors.Methods:From June 2021 to July 2023, 929 petrochemical workers were selected as the research subjects through cluster sampling. The noise exposure of workers and the usage of two types of hearing protectors were surveyed through questionnaire surveys and on-site occupational hygiene surveys. The protective effect of hearing protectors were evaluated by testing the PAR of workers. If the noise exposure value of workers minus the PAR value was less than 85 dB (A) , it was considered passed. Otherwise, it was considered not passed. The passing rate of the protective effect test of hearing protectors was analyzed through chi square test and the influencing factors for the effectiveness of workers hearing protectors in test were explored through single factor analysis and logistic regression models.Results:Among the research subjects, 80.5% of workers (748/929) had noise exposure levels greater than 85 dB (A) . The passing rate (80.9%) of the earmuff is greater than that of the earplug (52.6%) , and the median of PAR of the earmuff is 22 (16, 25) , which is greater than that of the earplug 15 (3, 22) dB dB, with a statistically significant difference ( P<0.001) . Univariate analysis and logistic regression models showed that length of service, exposure level to noise, and wearing comfort were the influencing factors of earplug protection effect ( P<0.05) , while wearing comfort was the influencing factor of earmuff protection effect ( P<0.05) . Conclusion:This study indicates that the protective effect of hearing protectors on workers in the petrochemical enterprise is poor, and the protective effect of earmuffs is greater than that of earplugs. Working experience, noise exposure level, and wearing comfort are the influencing factors of earplug protection effect, while wearing comfort is the influencing factor of earplug protection effect.

Objective:To explore the regulatory mechanism of voltage-dependent anion channel 1(VDAC1) on the proliferation, migration and invasion of lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD) cells.Methods:This study employed a combination of bioinformatics and experimental validation methods, conducting bioinformatics analysis and cytological experimental validation in the central laboratory of the School of Medicine, Anhui University of Science and Technology from February 2023 to August 2024.Clinical histological specimen validation was performed using immunohistochemistry, and a retrospective analysis was conducted on 5 cases of lung adenocarcinoma and adjacent samples from Huai′an First People′s Hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University. The TCGA network database was analyzed for the expression pattern, prognostic value, and functional enrichment of VDAC1 in LUAD. A549 cells with VDAC1 knockdown and H1650 cells with VDAC1 overexpression were established through lentiviral transfection. The expression difference of VDAC1 protein in LUAD and adjacent tissue specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry.The effects of VDAC1 on the proliferation, migration, and invasion capabilities were explored through CCK8 assay, scratch healing assay, and Transwell assay.The activation levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker proteins, cell cycle-dependent kinases, and molecules in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway were detected by Western blot.Results:Bioinformatics analysis revealed that VDAC1 was highly expressed in LUAD cells ( P<0.000 1) and was an independent risk factor for LUAD ( P<0.000 1). Functional enrichment analysis showed significant enrichment of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR, G2M checkpoint, and P53 signaling pathways ( P<0.001). Compared to adjacent control tissues, the expression level of VDAC1 protein is higher in lung adenocarcinoma tissues.Overexpression of VDAC1 promoted the proliferation ( P<0.000 1), migration, and invasion( P<0.01) of H1650 cells, while knockdown of VDAC1 inhibited the proliferation ( P<0.000 1), migration, and invasion ( P<0.05) of A549 cells.Western Blot experiments showed that compared to the control group, the expression levels of vimentin (1.10±0.11 vs 2.39±0.15, P<0.001), N-cadherin (0.94±0.12 vs 2.72±0.06, P<0.001), CDK1 (0.93±0.04 vs 1.53±0.03, P<0.000 1), CDK2 (1.04±0.13 vs 2.29±0.06, P<0.001), CDK4 (0.90±0.03 vs 2.00±0.11, P<0.01), p-PI3K (1.08±0.13 vs 1.85±0.12, P<0.01), and p-AKT (1.03±0.11 vs 1.69±0.06, P<0.001) were increased in H1650 cells overexpressing VDAC1, while E-cadherin expression decreased (2.18±0.14 vs 0.997±0.11, P<0.001).In contrast, in A549 cells with VDAC1 knockdown, the expression levels of vimentin (1.70±0.26 vs 0.97±0.09, P<0.05), N-cadherin (1.98±0.25 vs 1.03±0.06, P<0.05), CDK1 (1.13±0.03 vs 0.95±0.02, P<0.01), CDK2 (2.29±0.12 vs 0.92±0.10, P<0.001), CDK4 (1.71±0.096 vs 1.12±0.11, P<0.01), p-PI3K (1.67±0.09 vs 0.97±0.03, P<0.001), and p-AKT (1.53±0.04 vs 1.02±0.03, P<0.000 1) decreased, while E-cadherin expression increased (1.04±0.04 vs 1.85±0.26, P<0.05). Objective To systematically evaluate and synthesize the experience and coping process of bowel symptoms in patients after sphincter-preserving surgery for rectal cancer,and to provide the evidence for the subsequent development of bowel symptom management strategies.Methods A comprehensive search was conducted across the Pubmed,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,Embase,Web of Science,CNKI,Wanfang Database,VIP Database and CBM Database for qualitative studies on the experience of bowel symptoms in post-sphincter-preserving surgery patients with rectal cancer.The search period was from database inception to October 2024.The quality of the included literature was assessed according to the Australian Joanna Briggs Institute Center for Evidence-Based Health Care Quality Assessment Criteria for Qualitative Research,and the results were synthesized through the aggregative integration method.Results 14 studies were included,yielding 52 research findings,which were grouped into 10 subcategories and further synthesized into 4 results:the physical and psychological experiences of patients with bowel symptoms;the impact of bowel symptoms on patients'daily lives;coping styles for bowel symptoms in patients;facilitators of patients bowel symptom coping.Conclusion Bowel symptoms have significant negative impacts on the lives of patients following sphincter-preserving surgery for rectal cancer,and healthcare professionals should address these patients'needs by developing effective symptom management strategies and supporting patients in enhancing self-management abilities to improve quality of life.

Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is an effective measure to protect the health of workers. The domestic and foreign facial classfication of fit testing of RPE is mainly categorized into Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) classification, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) classification, principal component analysis (PCA) classification, Chinese Han adult facial classification, and Chinese young male facial classification. The LANL classification has low applicability. The NIOSH classification included different ethnicity and region of the study subjects, which is more representative for the American population. The PCA facial classification is complex to use and has low matching with RPE sizes. The Chinese Han adult facial classification and Chinese young male facial classification included more facial data of Chinese Han population and young population. There are qualitative and quantitative fit testing. Qualitative methods include the isoamyl acetate method, saccharin solution aerosol method, aerosol bitter testing solution method, and irritant smoke method which are cost-effective and easy to use, but are highly subjective to the study subjects. Quantitative methods include the aerosol generated method, environmental aerosol condensation nucleus counting method, and the controlled negative pressure method, which accurately quantify the facial fit of RPE but require specific testing equipment and high costs. It is necessary to include occupational populations from multiple industries, combine facial fit testing and fit testing methods of RPE, and establish a follow-up database based on digital information platforms, to achieve dynamic monitoring of respiratory protection levels among different occupational populations in the future.

ObjectiveTo analyze the results of fit testing and its influencing factors on half-mask respirator among workers exposed to organic solvents. Methods A total of 84 workers exposed to organic solvents were selected as the research subjects using a convenience sampling method. The qualitative fit test apparatus of respiratory protection was tested after the workers had put on the half-mask respirats, and 11 facial indicators of the subjects were measured. Results The overall pass rate of the respirator fit testing was 71.4% (60/84). The lowest pass rate was 63.1% (53/84), which occurred during bending movements of workers. The head width, minimum forehead width, face length, nose length, nose depth, head circumference and head length were higher in workers who passed respirator fit testing, compared with those in the failing group (all P<0.05). The result of binary logistic regression analysis showed that gender and face width were influencing factors of the respirator fit testing (both P<0.05). Female workers had a lower pass rate of the fit testing than male workers, and workers with larger face width had a lower pass rate in the fit testing. Conclusion Drastic movement may lead to a decrease in the seal of half-mask respirator of workers exposed to organic solvents. When providing half-mask respirator to workers exposed to organic solvents, employers need to pay attention to the fit of respirators of female works and those with larger face width to ensure the effectiveness of respiratory protection for workers.

Oxalate is an organic dicarboxylic acid that is a common component of plant foods.The kidneys are essential organs for oxalate excretion,but excessive oxalates may induce kidney stones.Jupiter micro-tubule associated homolog 2(JPT2)is a critical molecule in Ca2+mobilization,and its intrinsic mecha-nism in oxalate exposure and kidney stones remains unclear.This study aimed to reveal the mechanism of JPT2 in oxalate exposure and kidney stones.Genetic approaches were used to control JPT2 expression in cells and mice,and theJPT2 mechanism of action was analyzed using transcriptomics and untargeted metabolomics.The results showed that oxalate exposure triggered the upregulation of JPT2,which is involved in nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NAADP)-mediated Ca2+mobilization.Tran-scriptomic analysis revealed that cell adhesion and macrophage inflammatory polarization were inhibited by JPT2 knockdown,and these were dominated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/AKT signaling,respectively.Untargeted metabolomics indicated that JPT2 knockdown inhibited the produc-tion of succinic acid semialdehyde(SSA)in macrophages.Furthermore,JPT2 deficiency in mice inhibited kidney stones mineralization.In conclusion,this study demonstrates that oxalate exposure facilitates kidney stones by promoting crystal-cell adhesion,and modulating macrophage metabolism and in-flammatory polarization via JPT2/PI3K/AKT signaling.
