Objective: To investigate the awareness of core tuberculosis (TB) knowledge and the willingness to TB preventive intervention among secondary school students in Lanzhou City, so as to provide a reference basis for the prevention and control of TB in schools. Methods: From April to June 2024, a total of 1 127 secondary school students from 8 schools in 4 districts (counties) of Lanzhou City were recruited by stratified cluster sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey on the awareness of core TB knowledge and the willingness for preventive intervention against latent tuberculosis infection. Data were analysed using χ 2 test and binary Logistic regression model. Results: The overall awareness rate of core TB knowledge among secondary school students in Lanzhou City was 74.48%, while only 25.91% demonstrated awareness of all core knowledge items. The lowest awareness was observed for the item "tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease" (61.84%). About 94.85% of the students reported willingness to receive preventive interventions after a diagnosis of latent tuberculosis infection. Multifactorial Logistic regression analysis showed that students whose father s education was junior high school ( OR=3.14, 95%CI =1.22-8.08), senior high school or secondary vocational school ( OR=3.55，95%CI =1.16-10.86) had a higher willingness to receive preventive interventions than those whose father s education was primary school or below (both P <0.05). In addition, students who recognized "suspected tuberculosis" were also more likely to express willingness to receive preventive interventions ( OR=1.96, 95%CI =1.01-3.80, P <0.05). Conclusions The total awareness rate of core TB knowledge among secondary school students in Lanzhou City is low; willingness to receive preventive interventions for latent tuberculosis infection is high and it is related to father s literacy and core TB knowledge level.

Objective: To analyze the spatial temporal distribution characteristics of tuberculosis among high school students at county levels in Gansu Province from 2018 to 2022,so as to provide a scientific basis for tuberculosis prevention and control in schools. Methods: Tuberculosis data from high school students in counties (districts) reported in Gansu Province from 2018 to 2022 was collected from the Tuberculosis Information Management System and Infectious Disease Information Reporting System of the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information Management System. Demographic data of high school students in counties (districts) came from the General Management System of the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information Management System, and the spatial clustering of the reported incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis among high school students in Gansu Province in the past five years was analyzed using the methods of global spatial autocorrelation (Moran s I) and local indicators of spatial audocorrelation(LISA). Results: A total of 41 885 pulmonary tuberculosis cases were reported in various counties of Gansu Province From 2018 to 2022, with an average reported incidence rate of 32.81/100 000. During the same period, 1 170 high school students cases were reported, with an average reported incidence rate of 13.72/100 000. With the exception of 2020, the reported incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis among high school students was non random distribution in other 4 years, showed a moderate intensity of spatial clustering. From 2018 to 2022, most counties in Gansu Province reported that the incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis among high school students was 10.00/100 000 or below, the counties with reported incidence rate >40.00/100 000 were mainly distributed in Luqu County, Maqu County, Diebu County, Hezuo City, Xiahe County of Gannan Prefecture, Gangu County and Wushan County of Tianshui Prefecture, Wenxian County and Kangxian County of Longnan Prefecture, Huachi County of Pingliang Prefecture, Huanxian County of Qingyang Prefecture. The number of counties where the reported incidence rate of tuberculosis among high school students more than 30.00/100 000 gradually decreased from 2018 to 2022. In the past five years, the reported incidence rate of tuberculosis among high school students in all counties of Gannan Prefecture remained above 40.00/ 100 000 . The LISA analysis results showed that the high incidence areas were mainly concentrated in Gannan Prefecture. Conclusions The epidemic situation of pulmonary tuberculosis among high school students in Gansu province from 2018 to 2022 is still a serious condition, showing the characteristics of unbalanced regional distribution. The reported incidence rate shows a strong spatial clustering, and the hot spots are concentrated in the counties (districts) of Gannan prefecture in Gansu Province.

Objective:To understand the current situation of nurses in 52 hospitals in China on mastery of knowledge about skin injury in the elderly based on the background of mixed-mode homogenization training.Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 1 067 nurses from 52 hospitals in China were selected as the research objects in January 2021. A self-designed questionnaire on knowledge of skin injury in the elderly was used to investigate the nurses through the questionnaire star and univariate analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. A total of 1 067 questionnaires were distributed and 1 067 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the effective recovery rate was 100%.Results:The knowledge scores of pressure injury, incontinence-associated dermatitis, skin tear and xerosis cutis among 1067 nurses were (95.66±7.37) , (95.65±9.15) , (91.37±15.45) and (87.67±15.91) , respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that hospital grade was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge score of pressure injury, skin tear and incontinence-associated dermatitis ( P<0.05) , educational background was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge score of skin tear ( P<0.05) , professional title was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge scores of pressure injury, incontinence-associated dermatitis and xerosis cutis ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Hospitals at all levels need to strengthen the theoretical and practical knowledge training for nurses on skin xerosis and skin tear in the elderly, especially for nurses with primary titles and lower education in grassroots hospitals.

Objective To retrospectively analyze the effects of nerve block anesthesia versus general anesthesia on intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly. Methods The 104 elderly inpatients undergoing closed reduction and intramedullary nailing for the treatment of femoral intertrochanteric fractures were recruited into this study at Department of Orthopedics ,Xiangya Hospital ,Central South University from January 2015 to June 2017.Medical records were collected and analyzed by SPSS 16.0 or GraphPad Prism 6.0 software. Results A total of 104 patients were divided into general anesthesia group(n= 48 )and nerve block anesthesia group (n= 56 ). There was no statistical difference in the demographic characteristics between the two groups. The changes in heart rate ,maximum changes of systolic/diastolic blood pressures ,and infusion volume during surgery were lower in the nerve block anesthesia group than in the general anesthesia group [(12.7 ± 7.3)vs. (18.1 ± 7.8)beats/min ,(22.5 ± 8.8/12.2 ± 7.5)mmHg vs. (34.3 ± 7.9/21.6 ± 6.6)mmHg ,(792.9 ± 387.0)ml vs. (1 083.0 ± 445.5)ml ,respectively ,t=3.64 ,7.14 ,6.73 ,5.16 ,all P＜0.01]. There was no statistically significant difference between two groups in other perioperative data and the number of deaths at three months and one year after surgery. Conclusions As compared with the general anesthesia ,the nerve block anesthesia has less effects on the heart rate ,less maximum changes of systolic and diastolic blood pressures ,and less infusion volume during surgery ,and has no significant increase in postoperative mortality ,which is safe and worthy of further promotion.

Objective To explore the clinicopathological characters of T2 gastric cancer and the value of MSCT in the preop‐erative TNM staging of T2 gastric cancer .Methods A total of 93 patients with T2 gastric cancer were included in our study and un‐derwent preoperative MSCT staging ,who were confirmed by pathologic results .Then the results were compared with those of path‐ologic TNM staging .Also the clinicopathological features of the T2 gastric cancer were analyzed .Results There were no statistical‐ly significant differences in the clinicopathological characters among T2a and T2b patients (P>0 .05) .Comparing with pathologic TNM stage ,the T staging accuracy of MSCT was 91 .40% (85/93) ,the N staging accuracies of CT was 66 .67% (62/93) ,in which , 68 .18% (30/44) ,65 .00% (26/40) ,60 .00% (3/5) and 75 .00% (3/4) were for pN0 ,pN1 ,pN2 and pN3 .And the TNM staging ac‐curacies of CT was 67 .74% (63/93) ,in which ,68 .18% (30/44) ,64 .10% (25/39) ,60 .00% (3/5) and 100% (5/5) were for stageⅠ ,Ⅱ ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ .Conclusion There are no significant different on clinicopathology features among T2a and T2b patients .MSCT can clearly determine the preoperative TNM staging of T2 gastric cancer .

Objective To evaluate the effects of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) on ventricular remodeling. Methods Parameters of every subject including left ventricular mass ( LVM), left ventricular mass index (LVMI), E/A ratio, 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), ambulatory blood pressure monitoring(ABPM) data including 24-hour mean systolic blood pressure(mSBP) and 24-hour mean diastolic blood pressure(mDBP) were collected. Then the relationship of IGT and myocardial remodeling related parameters were analyzed. Results The rate of diastolic dysfunction was higher in the IGT combined with hypertensive group(74% ) compared with the hypertensive group( 39% )( x2 = 6. 5, P ＜ 0. 05 ). The rate of diastolic dysfunction was higher in the IGT group( 34% ) compared with the normal group( 10% ) (x2 = 5.2,P ＜0. 05). The rate of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH)in the IGT combined with hypertensive group (24%) was higher than the other three groups (Hypertension group 7%, IGT group 0, Normal group 0) (x2 =4.561,P ＜0.05), and there was no significance between the rest three groups (P ＞0.05).Stepwise multiple regression showed age and 2 Hours' Postprandial Blood Glucose were independent risk factors of E/A ratio. Conclusions These results suggested that IGT is a possible contributor to left ventricular hypertrophy and diastolic dysfunction, and is one of the histopathology of left ventricular remodeling.

Tissue-engineering bone with porous β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) ceramic and autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) was constructed and the effect of this composite on healing of segmental bone defects was investigated. 10-15 ml bone marrow aspirates were harvested from the iliac crestof sheep, and enriched for MSC by density gradient centrifugation over a Percoll cushion (1. 073 g/ml). After cultured and proliferated, tissue-engineering bones were constructed with these cells seeded onto porous β-TCP, and then the constructs were implanted in 8 sheep left metatarsus defect (25 mm in length) as experimental group. Porous β-TCP only were implanted to bridge same size and position defects in 8 sheep as control group, and 25 mm segmental bone defects of left metatarsus were left empty in 4 sheep as blank group. Sheep were sacrificed on the 6th, 12th, and 24th week postoperatively and the implants samples were examined by radiograph, histology, and biomechanical test. The 4 sheep in blank group were sacrificed on the 24th week postoperatively. The results showed that new bone tissues were observed either radiographic or histologically at the defects of experimental group as early as 6th week postoperatively, but not in control group, and osteoid tissue, woven bone and lamellar bone occurred earlier than in control group in which the bone defects were repaired in "creep substitution" way, because of the new bone formed in direct manner without progression through a cartilaginous intermediate. At the 24th week, radiographs and biomechanical test revealed an almost complete repair of the defect of experimental group, only partly in control group. The bone defects in blank group were non-healing at the 24th week. It was concluded that engineering bones constructed with porous β-TCP and autologous MSC were capable of repairing segmental bone defects in sheep metatarsus beyond "creep substitution" way and making it healed earlier. Porous β-TCP being constituted with autologous MSC may be a good option in healing critical segmental bonedefects in clinical practice and provide insight for future clinical repair of segmental defect.

This paper introduces the low-power design of a portable wireless ECG monitor which adopts MC35 GPRS module.At first,it presents the hardware and software system.Secondly,according to the principle of low-power design,it describes the low-power design methods from the aspects of hardware and software respectively.Finally,this paper discusses how to improve this power management system.In practice,this design efficiently reduces the power-consuming,and prolongs the working time of the monitor.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the feasibility of growing tissue-engineered cartilage using chondrocytes seeded onto a biodegradable porous bioceramic, the beta-tricalcium phosphate (beta-TCP).

METHODSA porous bioceramic template of beta-TCP was created in the shape of a disc. Chondrocytes isolated from rabbit articular cartilage were seeded on the beta-TCP template and then kept in rotatory cell culture system (RCCS) for 1 week prior to subcutaneous transplantation into athymic mice. The three-dimensional structure was well-maintained 16 weeks after implantation. After 4, 8, 16 weeks, the specimens were harvested and examined macroscopically, histologically and immunohistochemically.

RESULTSGross morphological and histological analysis of the specimens from the chondrocyte-beta-TCP complex demonstrated new cartilage construction. The overall configuration of the experimental specimens closely resembled the structure of beta-TCP template.

CONCLUSIONThese findings suggest that porous bioceramic (beta-TCP) is a good "matrix" for chondrocyte, and can be used for cartilage engineering.
