Objective: To investigate the relationship of metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR) with bone mineral content (BMC) and bone metabolic markers levels among adolescents, so as to provide a scientific foundation for the early identification and prevention of bone related diseases. Methods: From 2017 to 2019 and 2023, a total of 1 414 adolescents aged 12-18 years from Yinchuan were selected using a method combining convenient sampling with stratified cluster random sampling. The data of basic information, body mass index, BMC, serum osteocalcin (OC), type I collagen cross linked C-terminal peptide (CTX) and calcium (Ca), METS-IR among adolescents were obtained by questionnaire survey, physical measurement and laboratory examination,and METS-IR was divided into four groups Q1-Q 4 according to P 25 , P 50 and P 75 . Logistic regression models combined with restricted cubic splines were employed to analyze the relationship between METS-IR and low BMC as well as low bone metabolic markers. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate METS-IR effectiveness in diagnosing low BMC. Results: The levels of BMC, OC, CTX, Ca and METS-IR in the surveyed adolescents were (2.66±0.52)kg, (20.49±13.77) ng/mL , (2 460.89±1 818.96)pg/mL, (2.47±0.67)mmol/L, 30.63±7.58. After adjusting for gender, age and physical activity level, METS-IR in Q 4 group had a reduced risk of low BMC and low CTX [ OR (95% CI )=0.03(0.01-0.07), 0.45(0.32-0.65)] and an elevated risk of low OC [ OR (95%CI )=1.85(1.28-2.67)], compared with the Q 1 group (all P <0.05). Gender stratified analyses revealed similar trends for both males and females (all P <0.05). Non linear dose response relationships were observed between METS-IR and low BMC ( P total trend <0.01, P non linearity =0.01), as well as low OC ( P total trend <0.01, P non linearity =0.01), while a linear relationship was detected with low CTX ( P total trend <0.01, P non linearity =0.72). ROC curves revealed that METS-IR had the best diagnostic performance for low BMC (AUC=0.85, 95% CI=0.82-0.88, P <0.01). Conclusions Higher METS-IR score is linked to reduced risk of low BMC and CTX but increase risk of low OC among adolescents. These findings suggest METS-IR is a reliable indicator for assessing BMC and early predicting bone health risk among adolescents.

Objective:To understand the current situation of nurses in 52 hospitals in China on mastery of knowledge about skin injury in the elderly based on the background of mixed-mode homogenization training.Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 1 067 nurses from 52 hospitals in China were selected as the research objects in January 2021. A self-designed questionnaire on knowledge of skin injury in the elderly was used to investigate the nurses through the questionnaire star and univariate analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. A total of 1 067 questionnaires were distributed and 1 067 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the effective recovery rate was 100%.Results:The knowledge scores of pressure injury, incontinence-associated dermatitis, skin tear and xerosis cutis among 1067 nurses were (95.66±7.37) , (95.65±9.15) , (91.37±15.45) and (87.67±15.91) , respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that hospital grade was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge score of pressure injury, skin tear and incontinence-associated dermatitis ( P<0.05) , educational background was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge score of skin tear ( P<0.05) , professional title was the influencing factor of nurses' knowledge scores of pressure injury, incontinence-associated dermatitis and xerosis cutis ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Hospitals at all levels need to strengthen the theoretical and practical knowledge training for nurses on skin xerosis and skin tear in the elderly, especially for nurses with primary titles and lower education in grassroots hospitals.

Objective To analyze the metabolic profile in serum between normal and orthotopic xenograft nude mice burdened with three human pancreatic cancer cell lines,which were differentiated differently.Methods Human pancreatic cancer lines SW1990,BxPC-3 and Panc-1 were subcutaneously injected into the nude mice,respectively.When the tumor volume reached 1.0 cm3,the nude mice were euthanized and the tumor tissues were removed and implanted to the pancreas to establish the orthotopic xenograft mice model.The serum from three orthotopic xenograft tumor nude mice and the normal controls were collected and then analyzed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Results The three orthotopic xenograft nude mice models were successfully established.In SW1990,BxPC-3 and Panc-1 group,the orthotopic xenograft tumor formation rate was 79％ (11/14),93％ (13/14) and 86％ (12/14),while the mortality was 7％ (1/14),0 and 7％ (1/14),respectively.Compared with control group,the content of metabolites in the serum of orthotopic xenograft tumor nude mice was increased including creatine,alanine,glutamine,1-methylhistidine,isoleucine,lactate,phenylalanine,tryptophan and valine,but the glycerolphosphocholine (GPC) and glucose levels were reduced.As the tumors progressed to be more malignant,the content of valine and isoleucine tended to increase.Conclusions The establishment of the orthotopic implantation tumor nude mice model was stable and reliable with high tumor formation rate.Obvious metabolic differences of glucose,lipid and amino acids were observed between normal and human pancreatic cancer tumor burdening nude mice models.The common metabolic features identified in all three nude mice models burdened with human pancreatic cancer could be used as the potential markers for diagnosing human pancreatic cancer.

Objective To discuss features of angiogenesis in degenerative intervertebral disc and related factors.Methods In this case-control study,52 patients undergoing single level posterior lumbar interbody fusion during October 2012 to December 2013 were selected as research objects.Annulus fibrosus,nucleus pulposus and cartilage end plate of responsible level were collected in surgery for frozen section and HE staining.Angiogenesis in the intervertebral disc was identified according to the morphological characteristics of vascular endothelial cells,i.e.typical lumen structure and blue stained nucleus.These intervertebral disc specimens were divided into two groups according to the angiogenesis phenomenon.All specimens with angiogenesis were evaluated by blood micro-vessel density (MVD) counting.Related factors of angiogenesis including gender,age,VAS score,JOA lumbar score,classification of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration,intervertebral disc calcification rate and classification of intervertebral disc herniation were compared between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis was further conducted on indicators with differences of statistical significance.Results In our group of 52 patients,28 patients had obvious angiogenesis:12 patients in annulus fibrosus,7 patients in cartilage endplate and 9 patients in annulus fibrosus and nucleus pulposus.Angiogenesis rate was 53.8％ (28/52).The mean value of MVD was 12.5±3.1.24 patients did not have obvious angiogenesis.Intervertebral disc calcification rate (75.0％ vs.37.5％),VAS score (6.79±2.06 vs.5.25±2.23) and JOA lumbar score (16.32±3.89 vs.19.08±4.24) were significant differences between two groups (P=0.006,0.013,0.018).Multi-factor regression analysis showed that VAS score (OR=7.248,P=0.011) and intervertebral disc calcification (OR=8.881,P=0.006) were important factors associated with intervertebral disc angiogenesis.JOA lumbar score (OR=3.739,P=0.070) was not associated with intervertebral disc angiogenesis.Conclusion Degeneration of the intervertebral disc is accompanied by angiogenesis.Intervertebral disc calcification and VAS score are important factors associated with angiogenesis in intervertebral disc.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical features and causes of nosocomial infection in schizophrenics with tuberculosis so as to take effective measures for better prevention and treatment.METHODS A retrospective investigation was used to analyze the clinical features and causes of nosocomial infection in 207 schizophrenics with tuberculosis.RESULTS The rate of nosocomial infection in schizophrenics with tuberculosis was 39.13%.The main infection way was via respiratory tract,followed by skin,soft tissue and gastrointestinal tract.The period and degrees of tuberculosis,the history of smoking,psychiatric symptoms and the complications were the causes of nosocomial infection.CONCLUSIONS Controlling psychiatric symptoms actively,preventing and treating somatic complications,using antibiotics rationally and less or no smoking are the effective measures to avoid nosocomial infection in schizophrenics with tuberculosis.

This paper introduces the low-power design of a portable wireless ECG monitor which adopts MC35 GPRS module.At first,it presents the hardware and software system.Secondly,according to the principle of low-power design,it describes the low-power design methods from the aspects of hardware and software respectively.Finally,this paper discusses how to improve this power management system.In practice,this design efficiently reduces the power-consuming,and prolongs the working time of the monitor.
