Postoperative stress symptoms are caused by surgical trauma, and now still lack active intervention methods to promote the recovery of body function in the field of western medicine.Professor Cai Bingqin analyzed the etiology and pathogenesis of stress symptoms after abdominal surgery, which usually manifested as abnormal sweating, sleep disorders, emotional disorders, and gastrointestinal dysfunction, and then put forward the concept of postoperative stress syndrome for the perioperative period.Professor Cai Bingqin believes that surgical stimulation,as the important etiological factor responsible for postoperative stress symptoms, can cause excessive stress in the body, which results in a series of symptoms affecting the recovery of patients.Liver plays a defensive and adaptive role in postoperative stress by regulating qi movement, blood circulation and emotions. The symptoms of abnormal sweating, sleep disorders and emotional disorders are related with the function of the liver in governing emotions, housing the ethereal soul, and ensuring the free movement of qi,while the gastrointestinal dysfunction manifestations of poor appetite, abdominal distention and constipation are due to the disharmony of liver and spleen. For the treatment of postoperative stress syndrome,Professor Cai proposes the principle of treating disease from the perspective of liver, and the methods of soothing liver and alleviating depression, and warming and activating qi movement are adopted.Sini San(Sini Powder for Soothing Liver and Regulating Qi)is commonly used as the basic prescription to ensure the normal function of liver and to ensure the free movement of qi,and then the harmony of qi and blood and the unobstruction of blood vessels will be achieved.Additionally, the assistance of therapy for invigorating spleen to dissolve dampness, and replenishing qi to consolidate superficies can adjust zang-fu organs'dysfunction, and will restore the balance of qi-blood and yin-yang.The proposal of"postoperative stress syndrome"will provide an approach to the management of perioperative period with traditional Chinese medicine, and will become the beneficial supplement to the existing fast-track surgery system.

OBJECTIVE:
This study aimed to explore the association between humidity exposure and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), utilizing follow-up data and relative humidity (RH) metric assessments.
METHODS:
We extracted the baseline data from the China Hypertension Survey (CHS) of 24,510 enrolled participants aged ≥ 35 years without a history of CVD between 2012 and 2015 and followed them up from 2018 to 2019. The National Meteorological Information Center (NMIC) of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) provided the quality-controlled relative humidity (RH) datasets. Cox proportional hazards models were used to estimate hazard ratios ( HRs) for CVD in relation to RH.
RESULTS:
During the follow-up period (2018-2019), 973 patients with CVD were identified. The HR of CVD risk was 1.17 (95% CI: 1.04-1.31) per 10% increase in summer mean RH. Compared with participants in the 3 rd quintile group, those in the 1 st and 5 th quintiles of RH had a higher risk of CVD. For summer mean RH, the HRs (95% CIs) for the 1 st and 5 th quintiles were 1.34 (1.04-1.71) and 1.44 (1.14-1.83), respectively. The relationship ("U" shape) between summer mean RH and the risk of CVD was nonlinear. Stratified analyses indicated that the risk of CVD was substantially influenced by the summer mean RH in female, older individuals, and those in southern China.
CONCLUSION
Unsuitable (too high or low) humidity environments affect the risk of CVD. Our study highlights those future policies for adapting to climate change should consider the humidity-CVD relationship.

Backgroud Beta-cypermethrin and emamectin benzoate are widely used for the prevention and control of pests in the greenhouse planting industry, and their combined exposure may increase the accumulation of beta-cypermethrin and emamectin benzoate in organisms and affect human health. Objective Based on the changes in reproductive hormone levels in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, to investigate the effect of combined exposure to beta-cypermethrin and emamectin benzoate on the estrous cycle of female mice. Methods Twenty-four healthy adult SD rats were randomly divided into a blank control group, a beta-cypermethrin group (Beta-CYP, 53 mg·m−3), an emamectin benzoate group (EMB, 8 mg·m−3), and a beta-cypermethrin and emamectin benzoate combined exposure group (Beta-CYP+EMB, Beta-CYP 53 mg·m−3 + EMB 8 mg·m−3). Six rats in each group were exposed to the designed treatment protocol by aerosol inhalation 6 d a week for 13 weeks. The general condition of the rats was observed in real time during the treatment. From the 12th week of exposure, a 10-day reproductive tract smear was performed on the rats to observe the estrous cycle. The rats were neutralized on the second day after the end of the treatment protocol, and the ovarian tissues were stained with HE to observe histopathological changes. Serum levels of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2) were measured by ELISA. Experimental results were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2023;40(5):829-836
The portable light-weight magnetic resonance imaging system can be deployed in special occasions such as Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and ambulances, making it possible to implement bedside monitoring imaging systems, mobile stroke units and magnetic resonance platforms in remote areas. Compared with medium and high field imaging systems, ultra-low-field magnetic resonance imaging equipment utilizes light-weight permanent magnets, which are compact and easy to move. However, the image quality is highly susceptible to external electromagnetic interference without a shielded room and there are still many key technical problems in hardware design to be solved. In this paper, the system hardware design and environmental electromagnetic interference elimination algorithm were studied. Consequently, some research results were obtained and a prototype of portable shielding-free 50 mT magnetic resonance imaging system was built. The light-weight magnet and its uniformity, coil system and noise elimination algorithm and human brain imaging were verified. Finally, high-quality images of the healthy human brain were obtained. The results of this study would provide reference for the development and application of ultra-low-field magnetic resonance imaging technology.

OBJECTIVE To provide a reference for comprehensive quality evaluation and control of the effective parts of Dracocephalum moldavica (EPDM). METHODS A total of 10 batches of EPDM were prepared, and chemical information of EPDM was collected by HPLC-Q-Exactive-MS. EPDM components were identified by literature search, database comparison and manual analysis. HPLC fingerprints of 10 batches of EPDM were established by using the Similarity Evaluation System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Chromatographic Fingerprint (2004 A edition); the similarity evaluation and common peak identification were carried out, and the contents of 5 index components were determined by HPLC. RESULTS A total of 11 compounds in EPDM were identified. The fingerprint similarities of EPDM samples from 10 batches were all above 0.96. Among 11 chromatographic peaks, 5 peaks were identified, such as luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide(LG), apigenin-7-O-glucuronide(APG), rosmarinic acid(RA), diosmetin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide(DG), tilianin(TL) . The results of the quantitative analysis showed that all above 5 components had good linearity (R2≥0.999), and the average recoveries were in the range of 95.12%-98.37%. The contents of LG, APG, RA, DG, TL were 21.268 3-29.243 9, 6.365 4-7.771 7, 37.327 4-45.671 2, 17.169 9-21.985 9, 66.940 4-91.206 3 mg/g, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The established method of component identification, fingerprint and content determination is stable, feasible and reliable, which is suitable for the comprehensive quality evaluation and control of EPDM.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of compound α-ketoacid tablets in the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD).Methods:CNKI, Wanfang database, EMBASE, PubMed and Cochrane Library database were searched for eligible records published from the establishment of individual database to November 13 th, 2022. The quality of the included studies were assessed, data were extracted, and meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan5.3. Results:A total of 26 randomized controlled trials were included, with a total of 2 790 DKD patients (1 465 in the experimental group and 1 325 in the control group). Multiple parameters were significantly improved in the experimental group compared with the control group, including 24-hour urinary protein, blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, nutritional index, oxidative stress level, fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, homocysteine, HGF, VEGF, TGF-β1, and systolic blood pressure. Conclusions:Limited low-quality evidence showed that compound α-ketoacid tablets combined with low-protein diet may be related to the improved 24-hour urinary protein, renal function, and glucose metabolism in patients with DKD. Due to the lack of randomized controlled trials designed for respective stages of DKD, the inclusion criteria of our study were relatively general, possibly leading to the lack of pertinence of the results. Some indicators showed apparent heterogeneity among different groups, and more high-quality multi-center studies with large sample sizes are still needed to verify our findings.
