Objective To explore the predictive effect of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 [25(OH)D3] and blood lipid metabolism indexes on the occurrence of osteoporosis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods Totally 98 patients with T2DM in the hospital from January 2022 to January 2024 were classified into osteoporosis group (38 cases) and non-osteoporosis group (60 cases) by means of concurrent osteoporosis status. The levels of serum 25(OH)D3 and blood lipid metabolism indexes [high density lipoprotein (HDL), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL), VLDL] were measured in study subjects. The association of serum 25(OH)D3 and blood lipid metabolism indexes with osteoporosis was explored by Logistic regression analysis. The predictive value of serum 25(OH)D3 and blood lipid metabolism indexes on osteoporosis was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). Results Serum 25(OH)D3 and HDL levels in the osteoporosis group were lower while TG and LDL levels were higher than those in the non-osteoporosis group (P<0.05). The differences in the levels of TC and VLDL were insignificant between groups (P>0.05). After logistic regression analysis, the levels of serum 25(OH)D3, HDL, TG and LDL were closely related to the occurrence of osteoporosis (P<0.05). ROC curve indicated that the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity and specificity of combined prediction of osteoporosis by serum 25(OH)D3, HDL, TG, and LDL were 0.943, 92.11% and 85.00%, and the efficiency of combined prediction was better than that of each index alone (P<0.05). Conclusion The levels of serum 25(OH)D3, HDL, TG and LDL in T2DM are closely related to osteoporosis. Early combined monitoring of the indicators can provide reference value for clinical prediction of osteoporosis occurrence in patients with T2DM.

They were divided into control group and observation group (48 cases each) using block randomization combined with a random number table. The control group received routine treatment and nursing intervention, while the observation group added tele-supervised home-based pulmonary music therapy, for six months. Evaluations were conducted before intervention and one, three and six months after intervention. ResultsThree cases in the control group and two in the observation group dropped out. Compared to the control group, the observation group was better in forced expiratory volume in one second percentage of predicted (FEV₁%) level six months after intervention (χ² = 10.481, P < 0.001), maximal inspiratory pressure three months (Z = -2.045, P = 0.044) and six months (Z = -3.643, P = 0.033) after intervention, maximal expiratory pressure three months (Z = 2.111, P = 0.036) and six months (Z = 4.025, P < 0.001) after intervention, exercise capacity one month (t = 2.266, P = 0.028), three months (t = 3.943, P = 0.028) and six months (t = 6.703, P < 0.001) after intervention, fatigue scores three months (Z = -4.352, P < 0.001) and six months (Z = -5.718, P < 0.001) after intervention, clinical symptoms three months (t = -2.698, P = 0.007) and six months (t = -2.898, P = 0.003) after intervention, and clinical control levels three months (t = -3.402, P < 0.001) and six months (t = -5.036, P < 0.001) after intervention. ConclusionTele-supervised home-based pulmonary music therapy is beneficial in improving respiratory function, exercise capacity, fatigue, clinical symptoms and clinical control levels in patients with COPD.

Objective:To systematically review qualitative studies on the experiences of musculoskeletal symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy, and to gain insights into the initiation, development, and effects of these symptoms, along with their implications for patients, to guide the creation of targeted strategies for symptom management.Methods:The qualitative studies on the experiences of musculoskeletal symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy were performed across several databases, which included the Cochrane Library, Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence based Healthcare Center Database, PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. The retrieval period was from the establishment of the database to April 30, 2024. The studies' quality was evaluated utilizing the iteration of the Joanna Briggs Institute Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument designed for qualitative research. Data synthesis was carried out using Meta-aggregation techniques.Results:A total of 15 articles were included and 41 results were extracted, which were grouped into 11 new categories and integrated into 3 primary themes: the manifestation of bone and joint symptoms was highly unique and varied, prominently featuring experiences such as migratory joint pain, morning stiffness, and cramps affecting both large and small joints, frequently associated with functional limitations; these symptoms significantly influence patients' everyday activities and mental health, contributing to feelings of anxiety, avoidance behaviors, fear, and a reduction in overall quality of life; to manage the intricate nature of their symptoms, patients employ a variety of coping mechanisms, such as engaging in physical activity, taking dietary supplements, consulting about medications, and seeking support from external sources.Conclusions:During endocrine therapy for breast cancer, patients exhibit diverse characteristics of musculoskeletal symptoms, and the resulting fear of recurrence, avoidance behaviors, and anxiety have a negative impact on their psychological well-being and overall health. Healthcare professionals should take into account individual differences, such as age, menopausal status, type of endocrine therapy, medication adherence, and factors that may exacerbate or alleviate symptoms, in order to effectively predict, assess, and manage bone and joint symptoms during endocrine therapy.

Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of ultrasound combined with external application of Chinese medicine in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders(TMD).Methods A total of 72 patients with TMD and treated in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group,with 36 cases in each group.The control group was treated with ultrasound,and the treatment group was treated with ultrasound combined with traditional Chinese medicine.Then the pain VAS score,maximum mouth opening degree,joint click and clinical effect were observed before and after treatment.Re-sults The VAS score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).There were more patients with maxi-mum mouth opening greater than 3.7 cm in the treatment group than in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significance in the number of patients with joint click between the two groups(P＞0.05).The significant efficiency of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05).The effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P＞0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound combined with external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of TMD,compared with single ultrasound treatment,can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and promote the clin-ical therapeutic effect.

BACKGROUND:Early diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis is the foundation for timely antifibrotic drug therapy.Therefore,exploring and discovering ideal biomarkers that can be effectively used for the early diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis is crucial for the treatment of the disease.OBJECTIVE:To conduct an in-depth analysis of key autophagy-related genes involved in the process of pulmonary fibrosis by means of bioinformatics and machine learning techniques,in order to investigate whether autophagy-related core genes of pulmonary fibrosis can be used as reliable biomarkers in the assessment of the progression of pulmonary fibrosis.METHODS:Two datasets of pulmonary fibrosis,GSE24206 and GSE110147,were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database(a public database developed and maintained by the U.S.National Center for Biotechnology Information to store and share bioinformatics data),and the gene expression matrices of these two datasets were normalized by using the"limma"package in R software.The autophagy-related genes were extracted from GeneCards database(a database created by the U.S.National Center for Biotechnology Information,which automatically integrates gene-centric data from about 200 Web sources,including genomic,transcriptomic,proteomic,genetic,clinical,and functional information).Differential gene analysis was performed on the pulmonary fibrosis dataset,and the common genes were extracted by cross-comparing the differential genes with the autophagy genes,so as to identify autophagy genes that may play a role in the process of pulmonary fibrosis.The intersecting genes were analyzed for functional enrichment and cellular immune infiltration by gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes.Core genes of pulmonary fibrosis associated with autophagy were screened by protein-protein interactions and machine learning,and core genes were subjected to the enrichment analysis.Diagnostic models were constructed from the identified core genes.Calibration curves were used to assess the predictive ability of the line graph model.An external dataset,GSE21369,was used to perform a receiver operating characteristic curve analysis to validate the expression profiles of pulmonary fibrosis genes associated with autophagy,as well as to predict Chinese herbs associated with the genes IL6 and COL1A2 via the Coremine database.Finally,human embryonic lung fibroblasts were cultured and modelled by transforming growth factor-β1 treatment,and the relative expression of genes in the model cells was verified using qRT-PCR.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)A total of 51 pulmonary fibrosis differential genes and 25 genes intersecting with autophagy genes were obtained.Gene ontology analysis showed that the 25 intersecting genes were related to extracellular matrix tissue,collagen metabolism,collagen pro-fibroblasts,and growth factor binding,etc.The results of Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis indicated that they were mainly related to the Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway and the signaling pathway of the extracellular matrix-receptor interactions.(2)Immunoinfiltration analysis revealed that the expression of activated memory CD4+T cells,M0 macrophages,and resting dendritic cells was significantly elevated in the pulmonary fibrosis group(P＜0.05),showing a strong correlation.(3)Two autophagy signature genes involved in the progression of pulmonary fibrosis were identified:COL1A2 and IL6.The column-line diagram model showed that the two core genes predicted the onset of pulmonary fibrosis more accurately,and the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the two characteristic genes had diagnostic significance.COL1A2 and IL6 were related to the cell-cycle pathway,mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway,Janus kinase-signal transduction and activator of transcription signaling pathway and cytokine-cytokine receptor interactions.A total of 20 Chinese herbs were predicted to be related to COL1A2 and IL6 genes,and their efficacies were mainly to clear away heat and detoxify toxins and to invigorate blood and move qi.COL1A2 and IL6 were verified to be highly expressed in pulmonary fibrosis.To conclude,COL1A2 and IL6 may be potential diagnostic biomarkers for pulmonary fibrosis,but its specificity to pulmonary fibrosis needs to be further investigated.

Objective:To investigate expression levels of various myeloid suppressor cells(MDSCs)in bone marrow of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia(CML),and the difference and correlation of expression levels of BCR-ABL fusion gene and WT1 in CML patients at different stages,and explore its clinical significance.To analyze and compare the distribution differences of various MDSCs in CML with different remission depths after treatment.Methods:Proportions of various MDSCs in 58 CML patients were de-tected by flow cytometry.Relative expressions of WT1 and BCR-ABL were detected by RQ-PCR.Iron deficiency anemia patients were served as control group,differences of the distribution of MDSCs in CML patients with different BCR-ABL expression,different WT1 expression,different CD34+cell numbers and different disease course,and expressions of various types of MDSC at 3,6,12 and 24 months after treatment in patients with chronic phase of CML were analyzed.At the same time,changes of cellular immune status in CML patients at different stages were detected,and correlations between the changes of lymphocyte subsets and MDSCs were compared.Results:Proportions of G-MDSC and e-MDSC in chronic phase of CML were significantly higher than that in normal control group(P<0.05).Proportions of G-MDSC and e-MDSC in CML patients in accelerated phase and blast crisis phase were significantly higher than that in CML patients in chronic phase(P<0.05).However,the difference in proportion of M-MDSC between accelerated phase of CML and chronic phase of CML had no statistical significance.Proportion of G-MDSC in CML patients was positively correlated with values of BCR-ABL,WT1 genes and proportion of CD34+cells(r=0.558 7,0.530 7,0.598 1),proportion of M-MDSC was positively correlated with values of BCR-ABL,WT1 genes and proportion of CD34+cells(r=0.132 1,0.144 6,0.157 8).Proportion of e-MDSC was positively correlated with values of BCR-ABL,WT1 genes and proportion of CD34+cells(r=0.604 3,0.620 7,0.625 9).G-MDSC was significantly lower in the best response group than that in warning/failure group at all stages of treatment.e-MDSC was differential in the best response and warning/failure groups at only 3 months of treatment.M-MDSC was not statistically significant in the best response and warning/failure groups at all stages of treatment.And only G-MDSC cell ratio was positively correlated with its BCR-ABL ratio(r=0.798 1).Per-centage of T lymphocyte in CML blast crisis phase was significantly lower than that in accelerated and chronic phases,while percentage of NK cells was higher.Only the proportion of G-MDSC was negatively correlated with the proportion of T lymphocyte(r=-0.815 2).Conclusion:Various MDSCs are positively correlated with BCR-ABL,WT1 gene and CD34+cells,and positively correlated with the tumor burden of CML patients,while the correlation of M-MDSC is weaker than that of G-MDSC and e-MDSC.With the remission of CML,G-MDSC decreases,while M-MDSC does not change.e-MDSC only shows differences in the early 3-month of treatment.Change of G-MDSC ratio may predict the effect of CML treatment.MDSCs can inhibit the proliferation of T lymphocyte,and inhibitory effect of G-MDSC is stronger than that of M-MDSC and e-MDSC.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the common gastrointestinal tumors, and radiotherapy is an important treatment modality for CRC. Increased radioresistance in tumors can lead to recurrence and poor prognosis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are naturally occurring small non-coding RNAs whose expression patterns are associated with clinical variables such as tumor type and stage, exhibiting significant oncogenic or tumor-suppressive functions. miRNAs regulate tumor biological functions, such as proliferation, apoptosis, invasion/metastasis, and angiogenesis, at the post-transcriptional level, either directly or indirectly. Radiotherapy, which utilizes ionizing radiation (IR) to induce DNA damage, is a molecular event mainly involving the activation of intracellular signaling pathways and post-translational modification of proteins. Mutiple studies have demonstrated that miRNAs can counteract radioresistance in CRC by regulating IR-induced DNA damage, programmed cell death, exosomes, and the generation of tumor stem cells, potentially optimizing CRC treatment. This review summarizes the research progress on the role of miRNAs in radiosensitivity in CRC, aiming to provide new therapeutic insights and approaches for CRC patients.

Objective: To explore the association between mental health and muscle strength among Chinese adolescents aged 13- 18, providing a theoretical foundation and intervention strategies for mental health promotion. Methods: Data were obtained from the 2019 Chinese National Survey on Students Constitution and Health, including 98 631 Chinese adolescents aged 13- 18. Psychological distress was assessed by using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10), and mental well being was measured with the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well being Scale (WEMWBS). Based on the gender and age specific Z scores of various test items [grip strength, standing long jump, pull ups (for males), and sit ups (for females)], muscle strength index (MSI) was constructed to evaluate the comprehensive level of muscle strength in adolescents. According to the Dual factor Model (DFM) of mental health, participants were categorized into four groups:troubled, symptomatic but content, vulnerable, and complete mental health. Gender differences were analyzed by using Chi-square tests, trends were tested with Cochran-Armitage tests, and multinomial Logistic regression models were applied to assess associations between muscle strength and mental health among adolescents. Results: In 2019, 37.4% of Chinese adolescents aged 13-18 were reported of high mental distress, and 59.9% were reported of low mental well being. Boys had significantly lower rates of high mental distress (35.3%) and low mental well being (55.6%) compared to girls (39.4%, 64.3%), and the differences were of statistical significance ( χ 2=176.13, 780.42, both P <0.05). In 2019, the rate of complete mental health among adolescents showed a downward trend with increasing age ( χ 2 trend = 258.47) and a gradual upward trend with increasing muscle strength levels ( χ 2 trend =123.14)，and both boys and girls exhibited similar trends ( χ 2 trend =103.83, 168.46; 57.00 , 67.34) (all P <0.05). The results of the unordered multiclass Logistic regression model showed that after controlling for confounding factors such as age and gender, when the completely pathological group as a reference, for every 1 unit increase in MSI in adolescents, the likelihood of being in a completely mental health state increased by 29% ( OR = 1.29); for every unit increase in the Z-score for pull ups, the likelihood of being in a completely mental health state increased by 6% ( OR =1.06) among boys; for every 1 unit increase in sit up Z score, the likelihood of being in a completely mental health state increased by 19% ( OR =1.19) among girls (all P <0.05). Conclusions The mental health status of Chinese adolescents is not good enough. Muscle strength is positively associated with mental health.
