1.Clinical Advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Treatment of Childhood Simple Obesity: Insights from Expert Consensus

Childhood simple obesity has become a significant public health issue in China. Modern medicine primarily relies on lifestyle interventions and often suffers from poor long-term compliance, while pharmacological options are limited and associated with potential adverse effects. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history in the prevention and management of this condition, demonstrating eight distinct advantages, including systematic theoretical foundation, diversified therapeutic approaches, definite therapeutic efficacy, high safety profile, good patient compliance, comprehensive intervention strategies, emphasis on prevention, and stepwise treatment protocols. Additionally, TCM is characterized by six distinctive features: the use of natural medicinal substances, non-invasive external therapies, integration of medicinal dietetics, simple exercise regimens, precise syndrome differentiation, and diverse dosage forms. By combining internal and external treatments, TCM facilitates individualized regimen adjustment and holistic regulation, demonstrating remarkable effects in improving obesity-related metabolic indicators, regulating constitutional imbalance, and promoting healthy behaviors. However, challenges remain, such as inconsistent operational standards, insufficient high-quality clinical evidence, and a gap between basic research and clinical application. Future efforts should focus on accelerating the standardization of TCM diagnosis and treatment, conducting multicenter randomized controlled trials, and fostering interdisciplinary integration, so as to enhance the scientific validity and international recognition of TCM in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
2.Levels of serological markers of hepatitis B virus in Tibetan college students and their relationship with HBV-DNA loads

Objective:To investigate the detection status of serological markers for hepatitis B virus (HBV) among Tibetan college students and their relationship with HBV- deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) load.Methods:A cross-sectional study was carried out to retrospectively analyze data from 1 514 Tibetan college students who visited the Affiliated Hospital of Xizang Minzu University for consultations or health examinations between June 1, 2021 and June 1, 2022. The prevalence of HBV infection among these students was analyzed, the primary epidemiological patterns of HBV markers were identified, and their relationship with HBV-DNA load was determined.Results:The positive rate of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) among the 1 514 Tibetan college students was 6.7% (101/1 514), while the positive rate for Hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb) was 42.2% (639/1 514). The primary serological pattern of HBV infection consisted of positive results for HBsAg, HBeAg, and HBcAb, which accounted for 48.5% of cases. This pattern showed significantly higher rates of HBV-DNA positivity and elevated viral load compared with other serological patterns ( χ2 = 8.70, P < 0.05). Conclusions:The HBV infection rate among Tibetan college students is 6.7%. The primary infection pattern is characterized by positive tests for HBsAg, HBeAg, and HBcAb, with an HBV-DNA positivity rate as high as 87.0% and elevated viral loads.
3.Potential mechanism of Coptis chinensis for prevention and treatment of dental caries

Objective:To explore the the possibility and potential mechanism of Coptis chinensis in treating caries based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technology.Methods:The active ingredients of Coptis chinensis and the targets of the active in-gredients and caries were obtained through a variety of databases.The intersection targets of Coptis chinensis and caries were obtained by VENNY.Based on the target of the intersection,the protein-protein interaction(PPI)networks relationship diagram was formed on the STRING platform.The core target diagram was formed through the Cytoscape software,and the Coptis chinensis-active ingre-dient-target network diagram was constructed.The intersection targets are analyzed by GO and KEGG.The core targets of Coptis chinensis active ingredients in treating caries was analyzed by molecular docking.Results:The 11 Coptis chinensis active ingredi-ents,465 targets of Coptis chinensis active ingredients and 1 160 targets of caries were obtained from the database.After analysis,71 targets of Coptis chinensis-caries intersection and 12 core targets were obtained.The potential therapeutic effect of Coptis chinensis on caries involved relaxin,phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-protein kinase B(PI3K-Akt),mitogen activated protein kinase(MAPK),ras-re-lated protein 1(RAP1)and other signaling pathways.Berberine,one of the main active components of Coptis chinense,had strong binding activity on epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP9)and other core targets.Coptis chinen-sis and its active components can play a role in the treatment of caries through EGFR,MMP9 and PI3K-AKT,MAPK and other path-ways.Conclusion:Coptis chinensis and its active components can regulate several targets and signaling pathways such as EGFR,MMP9,PI3K-AKT and MAPK.Coptis chinensis may play a role in the prevention and treatment of caries through multiple pathways.

5.Research progress on function and mechanism of ubiquitin-specific protease 11 in tumorigenesis and development

Ubiquitination is a crucial post-translational modification that is extensively involved in the regulation of protein activity,signal transduction,and the maintenance of genomic stability.As an important member of the deubiquitinating enzyme(DUB)family,ubiquitin-specific protease 11(USP11)dynamically regulates the stability and function of key tumor proteins by targeting specific substrates for deubiquitination.This,in turn,influences various biological behaviors of tumor cells,including proliferation,apoptosis,migration,invasion,metastasis,and drug resistance,ultimately exhibiting a dual role in either promoting or inhibiting cancer.This article systematically reviewed the relevant research progress on the role of USP11 in tumorigenesis and development and provided an in-depth analysis of the specific mechanisms by which USP11 participates in cellular biological behav-iors,aiming to offer a theoretical basis for the future development of small-molecule inhibitors targeting USP11,the formulation of combination drug strategies,and the identification of effective biomarkers.
6.Preparation of polycaprolactone-polyethylene glycol-concentrated growth factor composite scaffolds and the effects on the biological properties of human periodontal ligament stem cells.

OBJECTIVES:
This study investigated the effects of a polycaprolactone (PCL)-polyethylene glycol (PEG) scaffold incorporated with concentrated growth factor (CGF) on the adhesion, proliferation, and osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs).
METHODS:
The PCL-PEG-CGF composite scaffold was fabricated using an immersion and freeze-drying technique. Its microstructure, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility were systematically characterized. The hPDLSCs were isolated through enzymatic digestion, and the hPDLSCs were identified through flow cytometry. Third-passage hPDLSCs were seeded onto the composite scaffolds, and their adhesion, proliferation and osteogenic differentiation were assessed using CCK-8 assays, 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) staining, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining, alizarin red staining, and Western blot analysis of osteogenesis-related proteins [Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), ALP, and morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2)].
RESULTS:
Scanning electron microscopy revealed that the PCL-PEG-CGF composite scaffold exhibited a honeycomb-like structure with heterogeneous pore sizes. The composite scaffold exhibited excellent hydrophilicity, as evidenced by a contact angle (θ) approaching 0° within 6 s. Its elastic modulus was measured at (4.590 0±0.149 3) MPa, with comparable hydrophilicity, fracture tensile strength, and fracture elongation to PCL-PEG scaffold. The hPDLSCs exhibited significantly improved adhesion to the PCL-PEG-CGF composite scaffold compared with the PCL-PEG scaffold (P<0.01). Additionally, cell proliferation was markedly improved in all the experimental groups on days 3, 5, and 7 (P<0.01), and statistically significant differences were found between the PCL-PEG-CGF group and other groups (P<0.01). The PCL-PEG-CGF group showed significantly elevated ALP activity (P<0.05), increased mineralization nodule formation, and upregulated expression of osteogenic-related proteins (Runx2, BMP2 and ALP; P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
The PCL-PEG-CGF composite scaffold exhibited excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility, enhancing the adhesion and proliferation of hPDLSCs and promoting their osteogenic differentiation by upregulating osteogenic-related proteins.

7.Research progress of 3D bioprinting technology carrying mesenchymal stem cells in the field of periodontal tissue regeneration

Periodontal tissue diseases are common oral diseases.Although traditional mechanical de-bridement therapy can control inflammation,it is difficult to achieve complete regeneration of periodontal tis-sues.In recent years,research and applications of combining 3D bioprinting technology with mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have rapidly developed in the field of periodontal tissue regeneration.This combined ap-proach provides a novel strategy for periodontal tissue regeneration by constructing a biomimetic microenvi-ronment and promoting cell proliferation and differentiation.This article reviewed the types of 3D bioprinting technology,the characteristics of bioink materials,the sources of MSCs,and their application progress in peri-odontal tissue regeneration.Additionally,it analyzed the current technical bottlenecks and clinical translation challenges,aiming to provide references for future research and clinical applications.

9.Advance in occupational health risks and management of shift work

The occupational health issues of shift workers has received increasing attention in the field of occupational health, and discussed in this article through literature review on the health risks and management of shift work both domestically and internationally. Based on this, a series of impacts of shift work on the physiological and psychological health of workers, as well as their family and social life, are revealed. Combined with relatively mature regulations and policies in foreign countries, it is proposed that China should fully learn from the relevant experience of health management in shift work abroad, Strengthen research and explore effective management intervention measures to provide ideas for accelerating the development of scientifically feasible regulations and policies related to occupational health in shift work in China.
10.The current situation of occupational health in the Internet industry and countermeasures

As an important force in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the national economy, the occupational health of the Internet industry's employees has received widespread attention. This paper examines the current situation of occupational health risks and management in the Internet industry at home and abroad, and on this basis reveals the physical and mental health problems of Internet industry employees. Combining the existing regulations, policies and standard documents at home and abroad, countermeasures are proposed to improve the relevant laws and regulations and their guidelines, implement relevant job design requirements, build a healthy working environment, optimise the work management system and carry out workplace health promotion, in order to provide ideas to accelerate the improvement of occupational health issues in the Internet industry.
