1.Programmed Cell Death in Endometriosis and Traditional Chinese Medicine Intervention: A Review

Endometriosis (EMT) is a common disease with frequent occurrence and difficult to be cured in modern clinical practice of obstetrics and gynaecology. It is characterized by progressively worsening dysmenorrhoea, pelvic mass, and infertility. The incidence of EMT is growing and increasingly younger patients are diagnosed with this disease, which poses a serious threat to the reproductive and psychological health of women of childbearing age and adolescent females. However, the pathogenesis of EMT is still not completely clear, and the disease has a long course. Therefore, developing new therapies is an urgent clinical problem to be solved. Great progress has been achieved in the treatment of EMT with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), while the underlying mechanism remains in exploration. Programmed cell death (PCD) is a cell death mode mediated by a variety of bio-molecules with specific signaling cascades. The known PCD processes include apoptosis, pyroptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, and cuproptosis, which all play a pivotal role in the development of EMT. Researchers have made achievements in the treatment of EMT with TCM, which regulates PCD via multiple pathways, routes, targets, and mechanisms. However, the progress in the regulation of PCD in the treatment of EMT with TCM remains to be reviewed. This paper reviews the research progress in the treatment of EMT with TCM from five PCD processes (apoptosis, pyroptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, and cuproptosis), with the aim of providing a theoretical basis for the clinical prevention and treatment of EMT.

Dyadic interviews can deeply reveal the complex interaction between dyads(eg,patients and their caregivers),and their importance in the field of nursing qualitative research has become increasingly prominent.Through a comprehensive literature review,this paper systematically combs the relevant literature of dyadic interviews,elaborates on the concept and application areas of dyadic interviews,deeply discusses 5 major forms of dyadic interviews and the analysis methods of dyadic data,illustrates with specific examples.The aim is to provide methodological guidance for Chinese nursing researchers and promote the scientific and standardized application of this method in the field of nursing qualitative research.
3.A longitudinal study on short-term changes in gastrointestinal symptoms and influencing factors in patients undergoing bariatric surgery

Objective To explore the changes and influencing factors in patients' gastrointestinal symptoms and food tolerance before and after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy(LSG),and to provide a reference for the development of targeted gastrointestinal symptoms management program.Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 125 patients who underwent LSG in the bariatric and metabolic surgery department of a tertiary-level hospital in Xuzhou City from June to November 2023 for a prospective observational study.The general information questionnaire,food tolerance questionnaire and Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale(GSRS)were used to investigate at preoperative,3 months after surgery,and 6 months after surgery.Two-factor repeated measures variance analysis and generalized linear mixed model(GLMM)was used to analyze the influencing factors of gastrointestinal symptoms.Results 116 valid questionnaires were collected,and the GSRS scores of LSG patients at 3 time points were 21.67±5.80,23.28±4.33,and 21.22±3.18 respectively;the incidence rates of food intolerance were 0,32.75%,and 28.45%respectively.The patients' symptoms of bowel sounds,dysphagia,constipation,and dry stool were worse after surgery than before surgery(all P<0.05),and the symptoms of bad breath,diarrhea,loose stools,and the need to defecate immediately were alleviated compared with symptoms before surgery(all P<0.05).GLMM results showed that short meal times,poor food tolerance,and high school/technical secondary school education were risk factors for increasing gastrointestinal symptoms(all P<0.05).Conclusion LSG could increase the prevalence of gastrointestinal symptoms such as dysphagia,dyspepsia,constipation and food intolerance.Medical staff should pay attention to the assessment of gastrointestinal symptoms in LSG patients,especially for patients with short meal time and poor food tolerance,strengthen postoperative follow-up,build targeted treatment and care plan,and prevent and reduce such uncomfortable symptoms.
4.Exploration of the Mechanism of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease from the Perspective of Regulating Astrocytes

Alzheimer's disease(AD),a common geriatric ailment,exerts a severe impact on people's lives.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)demonstrates a favorable effect on the intervention of AD,while the mechanism remains in the exploratory phase.Recent studies have indicated that astrocytes play a significant role in AD.The mechanism of TCM in the treatment of AD from the perspective of astrocyte regulation was explored,and the roles of astrocytes in the pathogenesis of AD was summarized,namely maintaining energy metabolism,regulating synaptic plasticity,and mediating inflammatory responses,thereby providing a TCM-based solution with a clear mechanism for clinical and scientific intervention in AD.
5.Venetoclax in the treatment of non-M3 acute myeloid leukemia:a rapid health technology assessment

Objective To rapidly evaluate the efficacy,safety,and cost-effectiveness of venetoclax(Ven)in non-M3 acute myeloid leukemia(AML),and to provide an evidence-based basis for rational clinical treatment.Methods PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,WanFang Data databases,and relevant health technology assessment(HTA)websites were searched to collect relevant literature and reports on Ven treatment for non-M3 AML,with a search timeframe from the establishment of the database/website to November 1st,2024.Two researchers independently screened literature,extracted data,and assessed quality,and then qualitatively described and analyzed the results.Results A total of 11 pieces of literature were included,including 5 systematic reviews/Meta-analysis,4 pharmacoeconomic studies,and 2 HTA reports.In terms of efficacy,compared with the control group,non-M3 AML patients receiving Ven treatment had a higher clinical remission rate(P<0.05),a longer event-free survival(EFS)(P<0.05)and a similar or longer overall survival(OS)(P<0.05).Regarding safety,compared to Azacitidine(Aza)monotherapy,Ven+Aza resulted in a higher likelihood of febrile neutropenia in non-M3 AML patients(P<0.05).Non-M3 AML patients receiving Ven+low-dose cytarabine(LDAC)had a higher risk of developing thrombocytopenia compared with LDAC monotherapy(P<0.05).However,the early 30-day mortality rate was lower in the Ven+chemotherapy group than that in the chemotherapy alone group(P<0.05),presenting an acceptable security profile overall.In terms of cost-effectiveness,Ven was cost-effective in non-M3 AML patients compared with the control group.Conclusion Ven has manifested remarkable efficacy and acceptable security profile among patients with non-M3 AML,thus proving to be a medium to long-term cost-effective treatment modality.
6.Impact of case manager-led stratified out-of-hospital health management on health behaviour ability in the patients with chronic disease

Objective To explore the effect of stratified out-of-hospital health management led by case health manager on the health behaviour ability of the patients with chronic diseases.Methods A convenience sampling method was employed to select 481 patients with chronic diseases who underwent physical examinations at outpatient department of a Tier-IIIA hospital from April 2022 to April 2023.A health management team led by case health managers conducted questionnaire survey to investigate the individual characteristics of the patients,established personal record based on the physical examination,and implemented stratified out-of-hospital health management for the patients.The intervention lasted for 12 months.The health behaviour ability and chronic disease self-management efficacy of the patients before and after the intervention were compared with.Results After the case manager-led stratified out-of-hospital health management,the health behaviour ability of patients with chronic diseases was stronger than that before the implementation,the self-management efficacy of chronic diseases was better than that before the implementation,and the patients'satisfaction was higher than that before the implementation(all P<0.001).Conclusion Stratified out-of-hospital health management led by a case health manager can improve the health behaviour ability and self-management efficacy of the patient with chronic diseases,thereby improve the patients'satisfaction.
7.Research progress in relationship between protein phosphatase 2A and occurrence and development of tumor

Protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A)is one of the major serine-threonine protein phosphatases in mammalian cells which plays an important role in regulating biological activities such as cellular mitosis and protein dephosphorylation.PP2A acts as a tumor suppressor and has been demonstrated to be genetically altered or functionally inactivated in a variety of solid cancers and leukemias,and its activity is inhibited,leading to subsequent proliferation of tumor cells.Clinical studies have shown that endogenous inhibitors such as SET,cancerous inhibitor of PP2A(CIP2A)and protein phosphatase methylesterase-1(PME-1)may reduce PP2A activity,which could be important indicators of tumor progression or recurrence.On the other hand,PP2A-activating drugs(e.g.FTY720)can restore the tumor-suppressing activity of PP2A by altering the structure of the inhibitor SET,thus effectively inhibiting tumor development.Therefore,PP2A and its inhibitors may serve as potential therapeutic targets in clinic.This article provides a comprehensive review on the mechanism of action of PP2A and its inhibitors in the pathogenesis of malignant tumor as well as their applications in oncotherapy,aiming to provide new directions for the treatment of malignant tumors.
8.Research progress in structure and biological function of protein phosphatase 1 and its relationship with occurence and development of tumor

Protein phosphatase 1(PP1)is a widely expressed and highly conserved serine/threonine phosphatase in organisms.It regulates cellular signaling pathways by catalyzing the dephosphorylation of various proteins,thereby influencing biological processes such as cell proliferation,apoptosis,migration,and transcription.In vivo,PP1 does not exist as a free catalytic subunit but instead forms distinct PP1 holoenzymes by binding with at least one PP1-interacting protein(PIP).The interaction between PP1's catalytic subunit and its specific regulatory proteins is central to PP1's function.Under normal conditions,PP1 stably performs its dephosphorylation role in vivo;however,in tumors,PP1 function is aberrantly regulated,leading to either increased or decreased PP1 activity.PP1 exerts a dual influence on tumorigenesis and progression,acting as a suppressor in some cancers while promoting oncogenesis in others.Based on domestic and international research findings on PP1,this review summarizes the structure and biological functions of PP1,as well as the impact of its various subunits on the development and progression of different cancers,including breast cancer,lung cancer,ovarian cancer,pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PAAD),liver cancer,endometrial cancer,esophageal cancer(EC),colorectal cancer,and glioblastoma(GBM).This review aims to provide the insights for developing highly efficient and environmentally friendly anticancer drugs and therapeutic approaches targeting PP1 holoenzymes.
9.Development and evaluation of the Children's Screen Interaction Quality Questionnaire for Children aged 0-4

Objective To develop the Children's Screen Interaction Quality Questionnaire(CSIQ)suit-able for measuring Chinese children aged 0 to 4 years,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods The purposive sampling method was used,and the guardians of 30 normal children aged 0 to 4 years undergoing physical examinations in the Department of Child Health Care of Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from February to April 2023 were selected as the interview objects.25 initial items were constructed through literature review,semi-structured interviews,and the Delphi expert consultation method.With the convenience sampling method,2 242 guardians of children aged 0 to 4 years old in the small and middle classes of 9 kindergartens in Guiyang City,Zunyi City,and Renhuai City were surveyed for item analysis,exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis,and reliability and validity analysis.Results Exploratory factor a-nalysis extracted three factors,namely screen content interaction,reality interaction,and media interaction,with a total of 12 items.The cumulative variance explained rate of the 3-factor model was 69.829%.Confirma-tory factor analysis supported the three-factor model of CSIQ:x2/df=4.424,root mean square error of ap-proximation(RMSEA)=0.066,normed fit index(NFI)=0.955,comparative fit index(CFI)=0.965,incre-mental fit index(IFI)=0.965,Tucker-Lewis index(TLI)=0.955,goodness-of-fit index(GFI)=0.955,and the CSIQ had good convergent validity and discriminant validity.Conclusion The CSIQ has good reliability and validity.
10.Research advances in tissue compensators in postmastectomy radiation therapy

The chest wall is one of the most common sites of local recurrence after mastectomy. Radiation therapy has been proven to significantly reduce local recurrence and improve survival in breast cancer patients. In postmastectomy radiation therapy (PMRT), the dose build-up effects of high-energy radiation result in lower doses on the skin surface of the affected chest wall. To increase the skin dose, tissue compensators (boluses) need to be applied to the skin surface of the affected chest wall. This review primarily summarizes the indications, materials, thickness, and frequency of boluses used in PMRT, serving as a reference for clinical practice.
