Objective : To verify the role of vascular endothelial growth factor B(VEGFB) in maintenance of skeletal muscle mass under chow-fed and high-fat diet, and to investigate the role of crosstalk between VEGFB and fibroblast growth factor(FGF) signaling pathways in the process. Methods : Four experimental groups were designed: VEGFB+/+chow-fed diet group, VEGFB-/-chow-fed diet group, VEGFB+/+high-fat diet group, VEGFB-/-high-fat diet group. Skeletal muscles from 24 weeks mice were isolated and weighed. Gene expression association analysis and qPCR experiments were conducted to assess FGFs expression levels. Results : Under both dietary conditions, VEGFB ablation resulted in reduced muscle mass. Under chow-fed diet condition, 8 FGFs level reduced including 6 paracrine FGFs in the skeletal muscle from VEGFB-/-mice. Under high-fat diet condition, 11 FGFs level decreased including 8 paracrine FGFs in VEGFB-/-mice. Conclusion VEGFB may participate in regulating skeletal muscle mass through FGF networks in the skeletal muscles.

Huopo Xialingtang is a famous classical formula for treating dampness and warmth， which is included in the Catalogue of Ancient Famous Classical Formulas（The First Batch）. In this paper， bibliometric methods was used to collect the literature related to Huopo Xialingtang， and 16 items of related literature were retrieved， involving five medical books， which were used to textual research on the origin， name， composition， drug dosage， preparation method， processing and main treatment symptoms of this formula. The results indicated that Huopo Xialingtang was originated from Yiyuan written by Shi Funan in the Qing dynasty， and and was later named and extended by He Lianchen. The composition of the proposed formula was consistent with the record of Yiyuan， and the origin of each Chinese materia medica was basically clear. Houpo was the dried bark and root bark of Magnolia officinalis， Zexie was the dried tubers of Alisma orientale， Kuxingren was the dried mature seeds of Prunus armeniaca， Doukou was the dried mature fruits of Amomum kravanh， the origin of Tuhuoxiang was consistent with the 2018 edition of Shanghai Standards of Processing Chinese Crud Drugs， and the origins of the remaining Chinese medicines were consistent with the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The converted dose of each Chinese medicine was 7.46 g for Agastache rugosa， 3.73 g for Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex， 8.39 g for Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum cum Zingibere et Alumine， 11.19 g for Poria， 11.19 g for Armeniacae Semen Amarum， 14.92 g for Coicis Semen， 2.61 g for Amomi Fructus Rotundus， 5.60 g for Polyporus， 5.60 g for Alismatis Rhizoma， 14.92 g for Tetrapanacis Medulla. Huopo Xialingtang was initially used for the treatment of dampness and warmth at the beginning of the disease， and was later expanded to treat dampness obstruction， dampness-warming dysentery and so on， but always with the dampness-heat in the lungs and spleen as the pathogenesis. In modern times， the clinical application is more extensive， used in digestive， respiratory， endocrine， nervous system and other types of diseases， especially for chronic gastritis， stomach pain and fever. By combing the ancient literature of Huopo Xialingtang， we verified the origin of the formula and determined the key information of the prescription， which can provide literature reference for the clinical application and drug development of this formula.

OBJECTIVE To explore the expression of trefoil factor family peptide(TFF3)in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP)and its regulation on mucin 5AC(MUC5AC)expression.METHODS The nasal polyp tissues of 16 patients in the CRSwNP group and the nasal mucosal tissues of 16 patients in the control group were selected,and the expressions of TFF3 and MUC5AC were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and Western blot,and the correlation between them was analyzed.The human nasal epithelial cell(HNEpC)line with TFF3 knockdown was constructed,and the expression of MUC5AC in KD-TFF3 HNEpC was detected by RT-qPCR and immunofluorescence.RESULTS The expression level of TFF3 in nasal polyps was significantly lower than that of control group,and the expression level of MUC5AC was increased,and the expression level of both was negatively correlated(r=-0.556,P<0.05).The expression of MUC5AC in KD-TFF3 HNEpC was significantly higher than that in control group.CONCLUSION The expression of TFF3 decreases in CRSwNP and negatively regulates the expression of MUC5AC.This study provides a new idea for the treatment of abnormal hypersecretion of mucous in chronic nasal inflammatory diseases represented by CRSwNP.

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment, and efficacy of spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea (CFR) combined with aspiration pneumonia.Methods:In this case series study, a total of 8 patients diagnosed with spontaneous CFR combined with aspiration pneumonia were admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Yuhuangding Hospital Affiliated with Qingdao University from March 2020 to March 2022. There were 3 males and 5 females, with ages ranging from 45 to 57 years. Endoscopic repair of CFR was performed for all patients. Retrospective analysis was conducted on the symptoms, chest CT findings, the leak location of CFR, and laboratory virological test results. The healing of the operative cavity and the recovery of pulmonary inflammation were followed up.Results:All the 8 patients had obvious postnasal cerebrospinal fluid drip with different degrees of dry cough, which was aggravated when lying flat and sleeping. Bone defects of CFR were predominantly located in the sphenoid sinus, lamina cribrosa and ethmoid roof. Chest CT scans upon admission showed multiple flocculent ground glass opacities and inflammatory changes in both lungs. Tests for TORCH (TOX, RV, CMV, HSV), EB (Epstein-Barr) virus nucleic acid, nine respiratory pathogens, 2019-nCoV oropharyngeal swab, and serum immunoglobulin(Ig)M/IgG were all negative. Seven patients were cured after endoscopic repair of CFR. CFR occurred again in one patient due to head trauma, and no recurrence was observed for 3 months after reoperation. Postoperative chest CT scans confirmed the resolution of aspiration pneumonia in all 8 patients.Conclusions:Aspiration pneumonia may arise from the aspiration of cerebrospinal fluid in patients with spontaneous CFR. Early diagnosis and timely repair of CFR contribute to the recovery of aspiration pneumonia.

AIM:To investigate the relationship of clinical efficacy,blood trough concentration and adverse reavtion,which in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection with Vancomycin.METHODS:The clinical data of 82 hospital patients who were infected by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and treated with Vancomycin from January 2008 to October 2009 were retrospectively analyzed the clinic efficacy,bacteriological treatment,adverse reaction were observed,and the blook trough concentration was detected.RESULTS:The treatment effective rate of Vancomycin-blood trough concentration which was less than 5 ?g/mL,in the range of 5-10 ?g/mL,and greater than 10 ?g/mL were 68.75%,72.73% and 81.82%.The bacterial clearance rates were 62.50%,68.18% and 72.73%.One case of blood trough concentration of 14.6 ?g/mL in patients with renal toxicity.CONCLUSION:Increasing the blood trough concentration of Vancomycin can improve the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection in the efficacy and bacterial eradication rates,but the probability of renal toxicity adverse reactions will also increase accordingly.
