This consensus will introduce the characteristics of fillers used in the surgical cavities of domestic nasal surgery patients based on relevant literature and expert opinions. It will also provide recommendations for the selection of cavity fillers for different nasal diseases, with chronic sinusitis as a representative example.

Objective:To develop a predictive model for intrapartum fever related to chorioamnionitis in parturients undergoing epidural labor analgesia.Methods:This was a retrospective study. The parturients with intrapartum fever (axillary temperature ≥38 ℃) who received epidural labor analgesia from January 2020 to December 2022 in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as model group, and parturients with intrapartum fever who received epidural labor analgesia from January to October 2023 in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as validation group. The parturients in model group were divided into histological chorioamnionitis stage ≥Ⅱ group (HCA≥Ⅱ group) and histological chorioamnionitis stage <Ⅱ group (HCA<Ⅱ group) according to the results of placental histopathological examination. Logistic regression analysis was used to screen the independent risk factors for intrapartum fever related to chorioamnionitis in parturients, and then a nomogram model was established. The discrimination of the model was verified by the area under the the receiver operating characteristic curve. The consistency of the model was verified by the calibration curve, and the clinical effectiveness of the model was determined by the decision curve. The validation dataset was used to further evaluate the model.Results:A total of 308 parturients were finally included in model group and 99 parturients in validation group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the gestational age, meconium-stained amniotic fluid, c-reactive protein concentration and maximum body temperature were independent risk factors for intrapartum fever related to chorioamnionitis in parturients undergoing epidural labor analgesia ( P<0.05). Based on this, a nomogram risk prediction model was developed. The area under the curve (95% confidence interval) was 0.844 (0.744-0.944) in model group and 0.812 (0.674-0.950) in validation group. The calibration curve showed that the prediction probability of the model had good consistency with the actual probability of diagnosis. The decision curve showed that the threshold probability of the prediction model in model group and validation group was 10%-98% and 10%-78%, respectively. Conclusions:A nomogram prediction model for intrapartum fever related to chorioamnionitis is successfully established based on the gestational age, c-reactive protein concentration, meconium-stained amniotic fluid and maximum body temperature in parturients undergoing epidural labor analgesia. The model has good predictive performance and clinical value.

Objective:To investigate the early clinical outcomes of a minimally invasive anterolateral approach (Orthopadische chirurgie munchen, OCM) versus a conventional (posterolateral approach, PLA) hemiarthroplasty in the treatment of senior femoral neck fractures.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 90 elderly patients with femoral neck fractures who received anterolateral and posterolateral approaches for hemiarthroplasty in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from December 2019 to June 2021 and were followed up. In the OCM group, there were 45 cases, including 18 males and 27 females, aged 83.33±5.29 years (range, 76-96 years); In the PLA group, there were 45 cases, including 13 males and 32 females, aged 81.87±5.00 years (range, 75-94 years). Postoperative, surgical indices, perioperative bleeding, and soft tissue injury were assessed; pain was assessed using the visual analogue scale (VAS), and hip function was evaluated using the Harris score and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) score.Results:The incision length, postoperative hospital stay, hemoglobin reduction, and occult blood loss were lower in the OCM group than in the PLA group ( P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in intraoperative bleeding and postoperative transfusion rate ( P>0.05). Serum creatine kinase and C-reactive protein levels (232.98±83.70 IU/L and 81.67±48.85 mg/L) were lower in the OCM group than in the PLA group (296.93±124.58 IU/L and 104.79±36.75 mg/L) 1 day after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant ( t=2.86, P=0.005; t=2.54, P=0.013). Postoperative pain was significantly improved in all patients, and VAS scores were lower in the OCM group than in the PLA group at 12 h, 24 h, and 48 h postoperatively ( P<0.05). The time to get out of bed after surgery was 20.73±4.99 h in the OCM group compared with 41.69±13.58 h in the PLA group, with a statistically significant difference ( t=9.71, P<0.001). Harris scores (63.31±6.21 and 75.76±4.91) and UCLA scores (1.84±0.42 and 3.69±0.76) were higher in the OCM group on the day of discharge and at 1 month postoperatively than in the PLA group (52.69±10.01 and 71.33±3.66); (1.62±0.54 and 3.16±0.80) points, all with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05). However, the differences in Harris score and UCLA score between the two groups at 6 months postoperatively were not statistically significant ( P>0.05). There were two cases of intermuscular vein thrombosis in the OCM group, with a complication rate of 4% (2/45), and one case of dislocation in the PLA group, with a complication rate of 2% (1/45), there was no significant difference between the two groups ( P=1.000). Conclusion:The minimally invasive anterolateral approach is a more ideal procedure for elderly patients with femoral neck fractures undergoing hemiarthroplasty. It has the advantages of a short incision, small soft tissue damage, low occult blood loss, early removal from bed, a short postoperative hospital stay, an improvement in pain, and a good early recovery of hip function.

Background and purpose: As a member of Catenin family, little is known about expressive signiifcance and mechanism of Delta-catenin in numerous tumors. In present study, we investigated the expression of Delta-catenin in breast cancer tissues and its correlation with the prognosis of patients. Methods:We examined the expression of Delta-catenin and its correlation with clinicopathological factors of patients by immunohistochemistry in 92 cases of breast cancer tissues with tissue micro-array. The mRNA and protein expression of Delta-catenin were also detected in another 32 cases of frozen paired breast cancer tissues and normal breast tissues. Results:Compared with normal breast tissues, the mRNA and protein expression of Delta-catenin were increased in breast cancer tissues, and expression of Delta-catenin was closely associated with histological grade and lymph node metastasis (P=0.016 and 0.022, respectively). Moreover, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis revealed that patients with high Delta-catenin expression had shorter survival than patients with low expression (P=0.015), and multivariate Cox analysis revealed that high Delta-catenin expression was also an independent prognostic factor (P=0.017). Conclusion:Our results suggest that Delta-catenin acts as an oncoprotein when overexpressed in breast cancer, and its expression is associated with poor prognosis of patients.

BACKGROUND:Significant increasing of intercel ular adhesion molecule 1 expression can promote the occurrence of inflammatory response and increase brain tissue injury.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of eye acupuncture point and non-point therapy on intercel ular adhesion molecule 1 expression in rat hippocampus of acute cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model.
METHODS:Forty Sprague Dawley rats were divided into normal group, sham-operation group, model group, eye acupuncture point group and eye acupuncture non-point group. Rats in the model group, eye acupuncture point group and eye acupuncture non-point group were used to establish the acute cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model with suture method, the suture was deep for 1.8-2.2 cm. In the eye acupuncture point group, the acupuncture points of hepatic region, upper energizer area, lower energizer area and kidney area were selected when cerebral ischemia-reperfusion occurred immediately and 30 minutes before drawing materials, then horizontal needling the acupuncture points around the orbit for 20 minutes. In the eye acupuncture non-point group, the puncture site was selected at 3 mm away from eye acupuncture non-point area, and then needled the puncture site with the same method in the eye acupuncture point group.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After eye acupuncture point therapy, the neurological deficit scores were decreased, and the intercel ular adhesion molecule 1 expression in rat hippocampus was significantly decreased (P<0.01). After eye acupuncture non-point therapy, there were no significant changes in neurological deficit scores and the expression of intercel ular adhesion molecule 1 protein and mRNA in rat hippocampus. The results indicate that eye acupuncture can significantly improve the rat cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, and the mechanism may relate with reducing the intercel ular adhesion molecule 1 expression in rat hippocampus.

From May, 2000 to June, 2001, 27 patients with Parkinson disease (PD), including 10 cases of rigidity, 13 cases of tremor, 4 cases of rigidity and tremor, were treated by microelectrode-guided technique. Among them, phlebotomy was carried out in 17 cases and thalamotomy in 10 cases. All the targets of lesion were anatomically located by using MR and neurophysiological signals on microelectrode. Our results showed that the efficiency of microelectrode-guided technique for treatment of PD was 98%. The postoperative unified parkinson disease rating scale were 12.3 +/- 9.1 and 13.2 +/- 8.9 respectively, which significantly improved as compared with those before operation. It was concluded that by recognizing special electrical signals in neurons microelectrode-guided neuropsychological techniques can locate target at cellular level, which overcomes the individual difference in anatomy and function, and allow more accuracy, safety and efficiency of operation. This is especially true of PD patients who fail to respond to medical treatment.

The emulsifiers of the ferula oil was shown to suppress markedly the swelling of the hind paw induced by injection of carrageenin and to suppress the increase of vascular permeability induced by intrad-ermal HA or 5-HT in rats. It also showed significant suppressive effects on oedema of rats hind paw induced by CFA.Experimental results indicated that it has inhibiting effect on DTH by SRBC in mice and suppressing on lymphocytes transformation induced by PHA.
