Objective: To investigate the association between the physical fitness index (PFI) and symptoms of depressive, anxiety and stress symptoms among college students, providing a reference for mental health interventions. Methods: From June to September 2025, combined convenience and cluster random sampling approach was used to administer questionnaire surveys and perform physical fitness tests on 2 712 college students from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 Items (DASS-21) was used to assess mental health status. Chi square test and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to determine the associations between the PFI and the PFI component indicators with depressive, anxiety and stress symptoms. Results: The prevalence of depressive, anxiety and stress among college students were 24.26%, 33.22% and 13.68%, respectively. Statistically significant differences in the prevalence of these symptoms were detected across groups differing in sleep quality, physical activity, weekly breakfast frequency, and history of low back or neck pain ( χ 2=9.33-151.83, all P <0.05). After adjusting for confounding factors, Logistic regression revealed that the moderate and high PFI groups had significantly reduced risks of depressive and anxiety compared to the low PFI group ( OR =0.73, 0.63; 0.61, 0.72, all P <0.05). Poor speed (50 m run) and lower body strength (standing long jump) emerged as common risk factors affecting anxiety and depressive symptoms in both male and female college students (all P <0.05). Increased muscle strength (sit up for 1 min) in female students reduced the risk of depressive ( OR =0.81), anxiety ( OR =0.85), and stress symptoms ( OR =0.79) (all P <0.05). Enhanced lung capacity in male students decreased the risk of depressive ( OR =0.84) and anxiety symptoms ( OR =0.85) (both P <0.05). Conclusions The PFI is negatively correlated with depressive and anxiety symptoms among college students with notable gender differences. Insufficient speed and lower body explosive power represent common risk factors for mental health among male and female college students.

BACKGROUND: As an essential part of health services, rehabilitation is of great significance to improve the health and quality of life of the whole population. Accelerating aging calls for a significant expansion of rehabilitation services in China, but rehabilitation needs remain unclear. We conducted the study to explore the rehabilitation needs in China and project the trend of rehabilitation needs from 2020 to 2034. METHODS: The data of health conditions that might potentially benefit from rehabilitation were obtained from Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study. Estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs) were calculated to quantify the trends of the age-standardized rates. Projections of rehabilitation needs were made until 2034 using Bayesian age-period-cohort analysis (BAPC). RESULTS: Approximately 460 million persons (33.3% of the total population) need rehabilitation in China, contributing to 63 million years lived with disabilities (YLDs) in 2019. The number of prevalent cases that need rehabilitation increased from around 268 (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 257-282) million in 1990 to almost 460 (95% UI: 443-479) million in 2019, representing an increase of 71.3%. The highest contribution to the need for rehabilitation was musculoskeletal disorders with about 322 (95% UI: 302-343) million persons in seven aggregate disease and injury categories, and hearing loss with over 95 (95% UI: 84-107) million people among 25 health conditions. Based on the projection results, there will be almost 636 million people (45% of the total population) needing rehabilitation services in China by 2034, representing an increase of 38.3%. The rehabilitation needs of neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders are expected to increase significantly from 2019 to 2034, with increases of 102.3%, 88.8% and 73.2%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The need for rehabilitation in China substantially increased over the last 30 years. It is predicted that over two in five people will require rehabilitation by 2034, thus suggesting the need to develop rehabilitation services that meet individuals' rehabilitation needs.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by complex pathogenesis, with its development closely linked to immune dysregulation. Regulatory T cells (Tregs), as specialized immunomodulatory cells, play a pivotal role in negatively regulating immune responses and maintaining autoimmune tolerance. In recent years, extensive research has focused on the relationship between Tregs and RA pathogenesis, with the functional role of CD8⁺ Tregs as a critical area of investigation. This review summarizes the alterations in CD8⁺ Tregs during RA progression and their potential mechanisms of action. By elucidating the diversity of CD8⁺ Treg subsets and their intricate roles in modulating immune responses, this analysis provides novel insights and therapeutic strategies for RA diagnosis and treatment.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of autologous fat transplantation combined with hair transplantation in the treatment of hard and/or thin scalp flat scar after burn.Methods:The clinical data of patients with hard and thin scalp scar after burn admitted to the Department of Plastic Surgery of Peking University Third Hospital from January 2017 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Fat was extracted from the lower abdomen or outer thigh during the operation, and then injected into the scalp scar after standing for 15 minutes, about 0.8 ml/cm 2 under the hard and/or thin scar area, and 0.2-0.4 ml/cm 2 under the thick and soft scar area. Three months after fat transplantation, hair transplantation was performed in the scar bald area, and the transplant density was 25-35 follicular units (FUs)/cm 2 in the hard and thin scar area, and 30-40 FUs /cm 2 in the thick and soft scar area. The Vancouver scar scale (VSS) was used by two third party plastic surgeons to score the hard and/or thin scar areas of the scalp before and 3 months after scalp fat transplantation. The VSS score was expressed as M ( Q1, Q3), and the preoperative and postoperative data were compared by paired sample Wilcoxon signed rank test. During hair transplantation, the density of implanted hair in the hard and/or thin scar area were recorded. The density of living hair at these sites was measured at the last follow-up, and then the survival rate of hair (living hair density/implant hair density ×100%) was calculated. A third party plastic surgeon evaluated the extent to which scalp scars in the hair transplant area were covered, including completely covered, basically covered, partially covered. Patients’ evaluation with the surgical result was divided into very satisfied, satisfied and dissatisfied. Results:A total of 57 patients with scalp scar after burn were included in this group, including 31 males and 26 females, aged 13-47 years old. The time from scalp scarring to treatment was 8-41 years. The area of scalp scar was 17-120 cm 2, with an average of 63.3 cm 2. The fat injection volume of 57 patients was 13-75 ml. The hair transplantation was performed 3-8 months after a single fat filling procedure. The total amount of hair transplantation was 510-3 120 FUs. The total score of postoperative scar VSS was 4(3, 4), significantly lower than the preoperative score of 7(6, 7) ( W=6.70, P < 0.001). The color, thickness, blood vessel distribution and softness were significantly reduced compared with those before surgery ( P< 0.01). All patients were followed up for 12-18 months (mean, 14 months) after hair transplantation. The survival rate of hair in hard and thin scar area was 68.2% (22.7 FUs/cm 2/33.3 FUs/cm 2) to 89.7% (26.1 FUs/cm 2/29.1 FUs/cm 2), with an average of 81.3%. In 32 patients, scalp scars were completely covered. The scalp scar of 25 patients was basically covered. Twenty-nine patients were very satisfied with the result of the operation, and 28 patients were satisfied. Conclusion:The high survival rate of hair transplantation can be obtained by injecting fat under the hard and/or thin scalp scars before hair transplantation, which is an effective method to repair scalp scars.

Objective:To investigate the optimal serum antibody titer in acute stage for the diagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection by passive agglutination, and to evaluate the clinical diagnostic value of different antibody titers.Methods:A cross-sectional study.Eighty-eight pairs of clinical serum samples were collected from children with MP infection treated at the Department of Pediatrics in Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from December 2016 to February 2017 and Children′s Hospital of Baotou in November 2019.The four-fold change of the double serum specific antibody titer was used as the gold standard, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted.When detecting the single serum in acute stage, different antibody titers were used as positive criteria to evaluate their clinical application value in the diagnosis of MP infection and find the most appropriate serum antibody titer as the diagnostic cut-off value.Results:(1)When the serum specific antibody titer ≥1∶40 was used as the positive criterion, the sensitivity was 72.9%, the area under the ROC curve was 0.817, and the specificity was 87.5%, which might cause overdiagnosis.When the serum specific antibody titer ≥1∶160 was used as the positive criterion, the specificity was 97.5%, the area under the ROC curve was 0.775, and the sensitivity was 52.1%, which might cause missed diagnosis.When the serum specific antibody titer ≥1∶80 was used as the positive criterion, the sensitivity was 60.4%, the specificity was 97.5%, and the area under the ROC curve was 0.823, overall performing better compared with the said two criteria.(2)After the disease lasted at least 5 days, blood samples were collected.About 72.5% of the children had antibodies, and 60.0% of the children had antibody titers ≥1∶80.Conclusions:(1)When the passive agglutination method is used to detect MP infection, antibody titer ≥1∶80 is recommended as the diagnostic standard.However, in clinical practice, the diagnosis of MP infection depends on clinical and other laboratory test results.(2) It is appropriate to collect blood samples on 5-7 days of illness.If MP infection is clinically suspected, and an antibody titer of 1∶40 is also suggestive, it can perform cooperative diagnosis based on molecular biology lab results or retest at a shorter interval.

Objective:To compare the antiplatelet effects of vicagrel and clopidogrel in patients with different cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2C19 genotypes.Methods:This is a post-hoc analysis of a phase Ⅱ clinical trial of vicagrel, which included patients with coronary heart disease who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention from August 2018 to June 2019 in 18 centers. Patients were categorized based on the presence of CYP 2C19 *2 or *3 loss-of-function (LOF) alleles into LOF carrier group ( n=111) and non-LOF carrier group ( n=90). Each group included patients received vicagrel 5 mg, 6 mg, 7.5 mg, or clopidogrel 75 mg for 28 days per study protocol. P2Y 12 reaction units (PRU) were measured using VerifyNow at baseline, 6 to 8 hours after loading dose, 7 to 10 days after randomization, and 28 days after randomization and the percentage inhibition of platelet aggregation (%IPA) was calculated. The primary endpoint was %IPA on day 28. Within the patients from the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command, 8 to 12 patients in each study arms were enrolled in a prespecified pharmacokinetic sub-study, measuring the time to reach maximum plasma concentration (T max), peak plasma concentration (C max), and area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC). Results:Among 201 patients, the age was (58.8±8.5) years, and 139 (69.2%) were male. In non-LOF carriers, there was no significant differences in PRU values and %IPA between the vicagrel 5 mg, 6 mg, 7 mg, and clopidogrel groups at all time points (all P>0.05). In LOF carriers, %IPA was significantly higher in the vicagrel-treated groups than in the clopidogrel group at 6-8 hours after loading dose (22.9 (14.2, 31.5)% vs. 19.8 (11.0, 28.6)% vs. 29.5 (20.9, 38.0)% vs. 12.9 (3.9, 21.9)%, P=0.038) and 7-10 days after randomization (22.4 (14.2, 30.5)% vs. 34.4 (26.1, 42.6)% vs. 39.8 (31.8, 47.9)% vs. 24.7 (16.3, 33.2)%, P=0.001), with a trend towards higher %IPA in the vicagrel-treated groups at day 28 (30.4 (21.3, 39.6)% vs. 36.5 (27.2, 45.7)% vs. 40.8 (31.8, 49.8)% vs. 30.7(21.2, 40.2)%, P=0.056). Pharmacokinetic results of 35 patients showed that the C max and AUC of the active metabolite M15-2 of vicagrel was similar to that of clopidogrel in non-LOF carriers, but AUC between vicagrel 5 mg, 6 mg, 7 mg and clopidogrel were significantly different in LOF carriers ((5.6±0.6) h·μg -1·L -1 vs. (6.8±2.7) h·μg -1·L -1 vs. (9.2±3.3) h·μg -1·L -1 vs. (4.2±1.9) h·μg -1·ml -1, P=0.020). Conclusion:Vicagrel and clopidogrel have similar antiplatelet effects in non-LOF carriers, but vicagrel exhibits superior antiplatelet effects in LOF carriers.

Objective This study aimed to investigate the protective effect and mechanism of carvacrol hydrogel on the alveolar bone in rats with periodontitis.Methods A thermosensitive hydrogel supported by carvacrol was pre-pared using poloxamer and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose as matrix.SD rats were randomly divided into blank group,periodontitis group,blank hydrogel group,and low-,medium-,and high-dose hydrogel groups.The periodonti-tis symptoms and the CT structure of the alveolar bone were observed.The changes in liver,spleen,kidney,and peri-odontal tissues were observed.The related indexes of bone metabolism in serum were detected.The expression of os-teoprotegerin(OPG)and nuclear transcription factor-κB(NF-κB)pathway proteins was determined by Western blot.The levels of inflammatory factors were assessed by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Results Carvacrol hydrogel had good slow release,biocompatibility,and cell adhesion.The periodontitis of rats in the carvacrol hydrogel group was significantly alleviated,the expression of OPG protein in gingival tissue was significantly increased(P<0.01),and the levels of receptor activator of NF-κB ligand(RANKL),receptor activator of NF-κB(RANK),NF-κB protein,and inflammatory factors were significantly decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion Car-vacrol hydrogel can regulate the OPG and NF-κB pathways,reduce alveolar bone absorption,and improve periodontal inflammation.

Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of hydromorphone or morphine for cancer pain using intrathecal drug infusion system(IDDS).Methods Chinese and English literature databases,including CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane Library,and Ovid,were searched from inception to Aug.31,2023 to collect randomized controlled trials(RCTs)about intrathecal infusion of morphine or hydromorphone in treatment of cancer pain.Two reviewers independently screened literature and extracted data according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,and evaluated the quality of RCTs using a Cochrane bias risk assessment tool.Then,meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4.1 software.Results A total of 6 RCTs,involving 544 patients,were enrolled.Among them,there were 282 cases in the hydromorphone group and 262 cases in the morphine group.The meta-analysis results showed that there were no significant differences in pain score or number of breakthrough pain episodes between the 2 groups after treatment(all P＞0.05).Compared with the morphine group,the incidence rates of nausea and vomiting,constipation,and somnolence were significantly decreased in the hydromorphone group(P≤0.05),and the quality of life was significantly higher(P＜0.05).Conclusion The efficacy of hydromorphone administered by IDDS for cancer pain is comparable to morphine;hydromorphone has advantages in reducing adverse reactions and improving quality of life of patients.
