ObjectiveTo investigate the therapeutic effect of sequential administration of Dihuang Baoyuan granules （DHBY， the prescription for consolidating body resistance） and Fuling Yunhua granules （FLYH， the prescription for treating symptoms） on spontaneous type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） in mice. MethodsAccording to the fasting blood glucose （FBG） level， 12-week-old db/db mice were randomized into six groups： model， DHBY （18.02 g·kg^-1）， FLYH （14.80 g·kg^-1）， sequential administration 1 （SEQ-1， DHBY 18.02 g·kg^-1+FLYH 14.80 g·kg^-1）， sequential administration 2 （SEQ-2， FLYH 14.80 g·kg^-1+DHBY 18.02 g·kg^-1）， and dapagliflozin （Dapa， 1.3 mg·kg^-1）. The m/m mice in the same litter were selected as the normal group. The mice were administrated with corresponding drugs by gavage for 8 consecutive weeks. During the 8 weeks of drug administration and 2 weeks after withdrawal， the retinal thickness， FBG， hemoglobin A1c （HbA1c）， and insulin were determined， and histopathological changes of the pancreas， liver， kidney， and retina were observed by hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining. ResultsCompared with the model group， SEQ-1 for 4 weeks lowered the FBG level （P<0.05）， raised the insulin level， decreased the triglyceride （TG） level （P<0.05）， increased the number of optic ganglion cells and diminished vacuolar degeneration of pancreatic islet and liver. SEQ-2 lowered FBG and HbA1c levels （P<0.05）， rose the insulin level， increased the retinal thickness and the number of optic ganglion cells （P<0.05）， and alleviated vacuolar degeneration of pancreatic islet and liver. Two weeks after drug withdrawal， Dapa tended to increase FBG and HbA1c compared with those at the time of drug withdrawal. However， the levels of FBG and HbA1c in the SEQ-2 group remained decreasing （P<0.05）. ConclusionSEQ-1 and SEQ-2 can lower the blood glucose level and ameliorate diabetic retinopathy， and SEQ-2 outperformed DHBY and FLYH in lowering the blood glucose level. Moreover， SEQ-2 can maintain the blood glucose-lowering effect after drug withdrawal.

Objective:To describe the population and area distribution differences in the prevalence of urinary incontinence in middle-aged and elderly adults in 10 areas in China.Methods:A total of 24 913 participants aged 45-95 years who completed the third resurvey of China Kadoorie Biobank during 2020-2021 were included. The prevalence of urinary incontinence was assessed by an interviewer-administered questionnaire, and urinary incontinence was classified as only stress urinary incontinence, only urgency urinary incontinence and mixed urinary incontinence. The prevalence of urinary incontinence and its subtypes were reported by sex, age and area, and the severity of urinary incontinence and treatment were described.Results:The average age of the participants was (65.4±9.1) years. According to the seventh national census data in 2020, the age-standardized prevalence rates of urinary incontinence was 25.4% in women and 7.0% in men. The age-standardized prevalence rates of only stress, only urgency and mixed incontinence were 1.7%, 4.2% and 1.2% in men and 13.5%, 5.8% and 6.1% in women, respectively. The prevalence rates of urinary incontinence and all subtypes in men and the prevalence of urinary incontinence and all subtypes except only stress urinary incontinence in women all increased with age ( P<0.001). After adjusting for age, the prevalence of urinary incontinence in both men and women were higher in rural area than in urban area ( P<0.001). The treatment rates in men and women with urinary incontinence were 15.4% and 8.5%, respectively. Conclusions:The prevalence of urinary incontinence was high in middle-aged and elderly adults in China, and the prevalence rate was higher in women than in men, but the treatment rate of urinary incontinence was low.

To explore the development tendency and major influential factors of traditional Korean medicine (TKM) resource and service by statistics analysis. Data are mainly from the Yearbook of Traditional Korean Medicine (2009-2015). Ministry of Health and Welfare Statistical Yearbook 2016, and the Ministry of health and welfare practicing qualification management system. This article analyzed the related indicators, such as the average annual growth rates and the proportion in the national medical system. From 2006 to 2015, the average annual growth rate of the number of TKM hospital and TKM clinics were 7.0％ and 3.2％ separately; the average annual growth rate of TKM doctor and TKM pharmacists were 4.3％ and 10.0％ separately; the average annual growth rate of the number of beds in TKM institutions were 9.3％; and the average annual growth rate of the number of applications for outpatient and inpatient reimbursement for medical insurance of TKM institutions were 12.3％ and 20.5％ separately. From 2006 to 2015, the resources and services of TKM presented an increasing tendency, and the accessibility of TKM resource and service was enhanced. It is suggested that China should use reference from the aspects of strengthening policy, expanding the sources of capital investment, and expanding the coverage of medical insurance.

BACKGROUND:cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) is a key protein of memory, which is closely related to long-term memory. It wil provide a new way for the treatment of hypoxic ischemic brain damage (HIBD) to study the effects of dental pulp stem cel s transplantation on the long-term behavior and CREB protein via the lateral ventricle in neonatal HIBD rats. OBJECTIVE:To observe the changes in long-term behavior and CREB protein expression in neonatal HIBD rats after human dental pulp stem cel transplantation, thereby providing scientific evidence for clinical treatment of neonatal HIBD. METHODS:Thirty-six healthy 7-day-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal, HIBD and cel transplantation group. The hypoxic ischemic brain damage models were established in the brain damage and cel transplantation groups. Twenty-four hours after HIBD, human dental pulp stem cel s were injected into the left lateral cerebral ventricle of rats in the cel transplantation group, total y 3×106 living cel s. Equal volume of normal saline was injected into the left lateral cerebral ventricle of rats in the normal control and HIBD groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The average time to seek water, the average escape latency and escape distance of the human dental pulp stem cel s group were significantly shorter than those of hypoxic ischemic brain injury group (P<0.01), but longer than those in the normal group (P<0.01). Nissl staining showed that the cel s in the hippocampal CA1 region in human dental pulp stem cel s group were more regular, the number of cel s was significantly higher than that of hypoxic ischemic brain injury group, but stil significantly less than that in the normal group (P<0.05). Immunohistochemical staining results showed that the number of CREB positive cel s in human dental pulp stem cel s group was significantly higher than those in HIBD group, but stil significantly less than those in the normal group (P<0.01). It is suggested that human dental pulp stem cel s transplantation could promote the expression of CREB protein in the hippocampal CA1 region, to improve the long-term learning and memory ability of hypoxic ischemic neonatal rats, and thus repair HIBD.

Objective To grasp the current situation and trend of health personnel development in public TCM hospitals through the analysis of health personnel statistics data of public TCM hospitals in China; To provide decision-making references for management departments. Methods Data were from the National Health and Family Planning Commission Statistical Information Center. This article analyzed staff number, the average speed of development, the average annual growth rate, health staff age, academic qualifications and job titles and other indicators of TCM public hospitals during 2010-2015. Results From 2010 to 2015, there was an annual increasing tendency of the number of TCM health personnel, and the average annual growth rate was 5.9％, but the growth of the percentage of the TCM health personnel to the total health personnel was only 0.3％. In 2015, the proportion of TCM health personnel was less than 50％; the doctor-to-nurse ratio was 1:1.18; the educational level of postgraduate and undergraduate were 14.0％ and 48.0％ respectively, less than the average level of national hospitals. Conclusion From 2010 to 2015, there is an increasing tendency of the TCM health personnel of public TCM hospitals, but the proportion of TCM health personnel is low. The doctor-to-nurse ratio is reasonable gradually, but there is still a gap compared with the average level of the national hospitals. The average age of technical health personnel tends to be younger. The proportion of high educational level health personnel is increasing, but the proportion of senior technical position is reduced. The management departments should take appropriate measures to promote the rational allocation of human resources and development of TCM hospitals.

A five-step synthetic method of ambrisentan starting from benzophenone was developed.The reaction methods of resolution and substitution were optimized.A stable,facilitating method of detection and efficient resolution reagent,L-phenylglycinamide,was used and helped to obtain highly optical pure intermediates.In the substitution reaction,NaOH was chosen as the base,which is safe and suitable for the industry.This method was mild,easily operated with a total yield up to 31.0％,and may have a good application prospect.

Objective The Nuss procedure is a minimally invasive pectus repair.The aim of this study was to explore the changes in quality of life in patients who underwent a Nuss procedure.Methods 96 patients,who underwent a Nuss procedure in our institution,were interviewed at preoperation,1 year after operation with the bar in place,and before the planned bar removal.The Nuss Questionnaire modified by George Krasopoulos et al,which evaluates psychosocial and physical well-being,was independently used by patients.Results Most of the scoring of the individual questions and the total score of individual patients revealed a significant improvement,both in preoperation vs.1 year after operation and 1 year after operation vs.before the planned bar removal.Conclusion The Nuss procedure has been shown to improve the quality of life in patients with pectus excavatum deformity in the short term.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse effects of brucea javanica oil emulsion combined with DP chemotherapy in treating advanced non-small-cell lung cancer.Methods Totally 48 patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer were divided into two groups randomly by mechanical sampling method.Twenty-four cases in treatment group were treated by brucea javanica oil emulsion combined with DP chemotherapy, while 24 cases in control group were treated by DP chemotherapy only.The clinical effects were evaluated after treatment of two cycles.Results The short-term effective rate was 54.2% (13/24) in treatment group and 45.8% (11/24) in control group, and there was no significant difference between two groups ( χ2 = 0.333, P = 0.564).The rate of increased and stable life quality was 87.5%(21/24) in treatment group and 58.3%(14/24) in control group,and there was significant difference between two groups (χ2 = 5.169,P = 0.023).The rate of increased and stable weight was 79.2% (19/24) in treatment group and 45.8%( 11/24) in control group, and there was significant difference between two groups (χ2 = 5.689,P = 0.017).The incidence of nausea or vomiting was 45.8% (11/24) in treatment group and 41.7%( 10/24 ) in control group, and there was no significant difference between two groups (χ2 = 0.085, P = 0.771 ).Compared with those in control group, patients in treatment group had less adverse effects in decreasing of peripheral blood leucocytes and showed better immune function.Conclusion Brucea javanica oil emulsion combined with DP chemotherapy in treating advanced non-small-cell lung cancer has good clinical effect, especially enhances the quality of life, improves immune function and decreases the adverse effects of chemotherapy.
