Objective: To investigate the association between body weight standardized vitamin B intakes and blood pressure among school aged children, so as to provide evidence for developing dietary guidance and intervention strategies of promoting healthy blood pressure in children. Methods: The data were derived from a pediatric health cohort established in both urban and rural areas of Chongqing. A total of 1 368 primary school students in grades one to three were recruited for the baseline survey between October and November 2014 by using a stratified cluster random sampling design. From February to March 2019, 1 283 participants completed the first follow up assessment. Dietary intake and sociodemographic characteristics were assessed using a food frequency questionnaire and a self administered questionnaire. Blood pressure, height, weight, and other anthropometric indicators were measured. Body weight standardized intakes of six B vitamins(B 1, B 2, B 3, B 6, B 9, and B 12 )were categorized into tertiles( T1-T 3). Linear mixed effects models were applied to examine the associations between body weight standardized vitamin B intakes and changes in systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP). In addition, mixed effects Logistic regression models were used to assess the risk of elevated blood pressure. Results: Linear mixed effects model regression analyses showed that, after adjusting for potential confounders including age, sex, and family history of obesity, body weight standardized B vitamin intake was negatively associated with SBP, DBP, and MAP in school aged children ( β =-7.79 to -0.68, all P <0.05). Results from the mixed effects Logistic regression models showed that, compared with the T 1 group, children in the T 3 group had a lower risk of elevated blood pressure for vitamin B 1 ( OR=0.40, 95%CI =0.25-0.64), B 2 ( OR=0.36, 95%CI =0.23-0.58), B 3 ( OR=0.47, 95%CI =0.31-0.72, B 6 ( OR=0.37, 95%CI =0.22-0.60), B 9 ( OR=0.36, 95%CI =0.21-0.60), and B 12 ( OR= 0.56 , 95%CI =0.37-0.86)(all P <0.05). Conclusions Body weight standardized B vitamins were associated with changes in blood pressure levels and the risk of elevated blood pressure among school aged children. Ensuring sufficient dietary intakes of vitamin B may help prevent and control of abnormal blood pressure in children.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have the ability to sow tumors and can be found in the peripheral blood of patients with precancerous lesions and healthy people. However, CTCs are not currently screened in the donors blood. A large number of allogeneic blood transfusions occurred worldwide each year, and allogeneic blood transfusions expose recipients to the risk of transmission and affect tumors associated with donor CTCs. Although leukocyte filtration can not completely remove tumor cells in the blood, it can effectively reduce the number of white blood cells in the blood and reduce their proliferation ability. Blood irradiation can effectively destroy the DNA of CTCs in the blood, and inhibit the occurrence and metastasis of tumors caused by the infusion of allogeneic blood containing CTCs. Therefore, we should pay attention to the potential risk of CTCs on clinical transfusion, and strengthen the preclinical treatment of blood to avoid donor-related tumor infection in blood recipients due to clinical transfusion.

ObjectiveTo explore the current situation and influencing factors of humanistic care experience among patients visiting traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） outpatient clinics in China， and to provide a basis for optimizing TCM-characterized services in both TCM and Western medicine hospitals. MethodsA multi-center cross-sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling to select 35 hospitals across 13 provinces in China （including 3 TCM hospitals and 32 TCM outpatient clinics in general hospitals）. A total of 3，430 patients were surveyed using the general information questionnaire and the Outpatient Humanistic Care Experience Questionnaire， with data collected via Questionnaire Star. Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression were employed to examine the impacts of patient characteristics， visit characteristics， hospital type （TCM hospital/general hospital）， and geographic region （eastern/central/western） on humanistic care experience. ResultsThe total score of humanistic care experience was 194 （188， 233）. Univariate analysis showed that gender， educational level， current residence， per capita monthly household income， location attribute of medical institutions， number of previous visits to this hospital， payment method of medical expenses， previous hospitalization history in this hospital， frequency of outpatient visits within the past 12 months， self-rated disease severity， familiarity with the outpatient procedures， implementation of the follow-up service provided by the hospital， satisfaction with follow-up services， the grade of the hospital visited， geographical region of the hospital visited， and the department visited had an impact on the humanistic care experience during outpatient visits （P<0.05）. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that educational level （β=0.609， P=0.011）， self-rated disease severity （β=-0.646， P=0.047）， familiarity with outpatient procedures （β=4.784， P<0.001）， satisfaction with follow-up services （β=6.365， P<0.001）， and the grade of the hospital visited （β=-5.487， P<0.001） affected the humanistic care experience in outpatient medical treatment， explaining 24.4% of the total variation. ConclusionHumanistic care experience in TCM outpatient clinics is influenced by multiple factors. It is recommended to optimize the medical treatment process， strengthen doctor-patient communication training， and establish a precise follow-up mechanism， with a focus on improving care perceptions among patients with lower education levels and those attending primary-level hospitals， to refine the TCM-characterized service system.

Ovarian cancer poses a significant threat to women's health, necessitating effective therapeutic strategies. Emd-D, an emodin derivative, demonstrates enhanced pharmaceutical properties and bioavailability. In this study, Cell Counting Kit 8 (CCK8) assays and Ki-67 staining revealed dose-dependent inhibition of cell proliferation by Emd-D. Migration and invasion experiments confirmed its inhibitory effects on OVHM cells, while flow cytometry analysis demonstrated Emd-D-induced apoptosis. Mechanistic investigations elucidated that Emd-D functions as an inhibitor by directly binding to the glycolysis-related enzyme PFKFB4. This was corroborated by alterations in intracellular lactate and pyruvate levels, as well as glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) and hexokinase 2 (HK2) expression. PFKFB4 overexpression experiments further supported the dependence of Emd-D on PFKFB4-mediated glycolysis and SRC3/mTORC1 pathway-associated apoptosis. In vivo experiments exhibited reduced xenograft tumor sizes upon Emd-D treatment, accompanied by suppressed glycolysis and increased expression of Bax/Bcl-2 apoptotic proteins within the tumors. In conclusion, our findings demonstrate Emd-D's potential as an anti-ovarian cancer agent through inhibition of the PFKFB4-dependent glycolysis pathway and induction of apoptosis. These results provide a foundation for further exploration of Emd-D as a promising drug candidate for ovarian cancer treatment.

This study employed ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatograph-hybrid quadrupole orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS) to detect the chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine in Sizi Dingchuan granules. Network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques were then utilized to predict the effects of Sizi Dingchuan granules on bronchial asthma, along with its target molecules and signaling pathways. UHPLC analysis identified 172 compounds, including 84 flavonoids, 38 organic acids and their derivatives, 22 phenylpropanoids, 16 organic oxygen compounds, 3 phenolic compounds, 2 terpenoids, 2 sugars and glycosides, and 5 other compounds. Typical compound fragmentation patterns were documented. Using network pharmacology methods, 117 compounds were ultimately selected for target prediction, establishing a “drug-component-target-disease” network, which revealed that quercetin, schisandrin A, baicalin, gomisin H, and baicalin exhibit multiple targets related to bronchial asthma, suggesting that they may be the active components responsible for the compound’s efficacy in treating this condition. Protein-protein interaction analysis identified core targets including TNF, IL-6, JAK2, STAT3, BCL2, CASP3, and EGFR, primarily clustered within the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. This suggests that the main components of Sizi Dingchuan granules may regulate the balance between Th17 and Treg cells, as well as Th1 and Th2 cell differentiation, by modulating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, thereby exerting a positive therapeutic effect on bronchial asthma.

Group painting art therapy is a kind of therapy using painting art as the medium,which helps the individuals to improve their mental health and achieve recovery through group participation.In this kind of therapy,the participants express their emotions,thoughts and experiences through painting,share them with others,and obtain support and feedback,thereby this process promotes self-awareness,emotional expression and social interaction.The empirical research results indicate that when the group painting art therapy is ap-plied to the patients with schizophrenia during the rehabilitation phase,it has multifaceted effects,including al-leviating psychotic symptoms,improving medication adherence,relieving emotional distress,enhancing sleep quality,increasing self-awareness,improving cognitive function,and increasing social functioning and overall quality of life.In terms of intervention methods,the researchers have assessed the application efficacy of sole group painting art therapy in the rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients and have also explored its combined application with other treatments.For the future,more long-term follow-up studies can be conducted,and in-terdisciplinary cooperation can be strengthened,while focusing on community resource construction.

The high incidence of bleeding after peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) catheterization increases the risk of puncture site infection and unplanned extubation. Hemostatic dressings should be used in the early stages of catheterization to reduce blood infiltration. However, new hemostatic dressings have various types and advantages, which makes them difficult to choose dressings for medical staff. This paper introduces the types and hemostatic characteristics of novel functional hemostatic dressings, reviews the hemostatic mechanism and hemostatic effect of chitosan, cyanoacrylate gum, alginate, gelatin sponge and oxycellulose dressings in PICC puncture respectively, and prospects the development of new functional hemostatic dressings. It is expected that future hemostatic dressings will move towards multifunctionality and compositeness.

Obesity is a significant risk factor for cancer and is associated with breast cancer metastasis. Nevertheless, the mechanism by which alterations in systemic metabolism affect tumor microenvironment (TME) and consequently influence tumor metastasis remains inadequately understood. Herein, we found that perturbations in circulating metabolites induced by obesity promote metastasis-like phenotypes in breast cancer. Oleoylcarnitine (OLCarn) concentrations were elevated in the serum of obese mice and humans. Administration of exogenous OLCarn induces metastasis-like characteristics in breast cancer cells. Mechanistically, OLCarn directly interacts with the Arg176 site of adenylate cyclase 10 (ADCY10), leading to the activation of ADCY10 and enhancement of cAMP production. Mutations at Arg176 prevent OLCarn from binding to ADCY10, disrupting the ADCY10-mediated activation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) signaling pathway. This activation promotes transcription factor 4 (TCF4)-dependent kinesin family member C1 (KIFC1) transcription, thereby driving breast cancer metastasis. Conversely, the neutralization of both ADCY10 and KIFC1 through knockdown or pharmacological inhibition abrogates the oncogenic effects mediated by OLCarn. Hence, obesity-induced systemic environmental changes lead to the aberrant accumulation of OLCarn within the TME, making it a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for breast cancer.

During the hyperacute phase of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), the mass effect and blood components mechanically lead to brain damage and neurotoxicity. Our findings revealed that the mass effect and transferrin precipitate neuronal oxidative stress and iron uptake, culminating in ferroptosis in neurons. M6A (N6-methyladenosine) modification, the most prevalent mRNA modification, plays a critical role in various cell death pathways. The Fto (fat mass and obesity-associated protein) demethylase has been implicated in numerous signaling pathways of neurological diseases by modulating m6A mRNA levels. Regulation of Fto protein levels in neurons effectively mitigated mass effect-induced neuronal ferroptosis. Applying nanopore direct RNA sequencing, we identified voltage-dependent anion channel 3 (Vdac3) as a potential target associated with ferroptosis. Fto influenced neuronal ferroptosis by regulating the m6A methylation of Vdac3 mRNA. These findings elucidate the intricate interplay between Fto, Vdac3, m6A methylation, and ferroptosis in neurons during the hyperacute phase post-ICH and suggest novel therapeutic strategies for ICH.

Objective To understand the awareness and willingness of primary medical staff in Songjiang District, Shanghai towards human papillomavirus (HPV) and its vaccines, and to provide references for improving the vaccination willingness of HPV vaccine and primary prevention of cervical cancer. Methods From July to August 2023, a questionnaire survey was conducted among the in-service medical staff in 17 community health service centers in Songjiang District, Shanghai, using the random sampling method. Descriptive analysis, χ² test and logistic regression were used for statistical analysis. Results A total of 951 valid questionnaires were collected during the survey. The awareness rate of HPV among medical staff was 92.74%, and the awareness rate of HPV vaccine was 93.38%. The maximum score for HPV knowledge was 6 points, with an average score of (3.99±1.34) points. The maximum score for HPV vaccine knowledge was 10 points, with an average score of (5.63±1.61) points. 881 (92.64%) medical staff were willing to receive or recommend HPV vaccination. Multivariate analysis showed that concerns about being infected with HPV (OR=2.648, 95% CI: 1.459-4.806), qualified score on HPV vaccine knowledge (OR=1.717, 95% CI: 1.012-2.912), high price burden of HPV vaccine (OR=0.343, 95% CI: 0.157-0.746), and concerns about side effects of vaccination (OR=0.443, 95% CI: 0.243-0.805) were the influencing factors for medical staff's willingness to vaccinate. Conclusion There is insufficient knowledge of HPV and its vaccines among primary medical personnel in Songjiang District, Shanghai. It is necessary to strengthen the continuing education of medical personnel through multiple channels, supplement the HPV-related knowledge system, and eliminate their concerns about vaccines.
