ObjectiveTo analyze the characteristics of 150 patients with spinal cord injury complicated with spasticity. MethodsA cross-sectional survey was conducted on 150 patients with spinal cord injury accompanied by spasticity from September, 2019 to December, 2024. Their age, gender, cause of injury, injury site, severity of injury, spasticity severity and other indicators were recorded. The relationships between different characteristics were analyzed, and a correlation analysis of disease duration, spasticity grade, injury level, injury severity and age were conducted. ResultsThere was no significant difference in age distribution between patients with tetraplegia and paraplegia (Z = 0.806, P = 0.420). The proportions of trauma (χ² = 3.982, P = 0.046) and tetraplegia (χ² = 10.559, P = 0.010) were higher in males than in females. Trauma was the main cause of injury in both tetraplegia and paraplegia patients; the proportion of tetraplegia was higher than paraplegia in trauma patients, while paraplegia was higher than tetraplegia in non-trauma patients (χ² = 11.885, P < 0.001). Patients with tetraplegia was dominated by incomplete injury, whereas patients with paraplegia was dominated by complete injury (χ² = 10.885, P = 0.012). Grade A injury was predominant in trauma patients (P = 0.003). Spasticity grade showed a very weak positive correlation with disease duration (r = 0.175, P = 0.032) and age (r = 0.168, P = 0.040). Injury severity showed a very weak positive correlation with age (r = 0.183, P = 0.025). ConclusionCharacteristics of patients with spinal cord injury complicated with spasticity is different with gender, cause of injury, injury level, injury severity.

In January 2025, the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration issued the "Guidelines for Public Health Adaptation Actions to Climate Change" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines"). The Guidelines put forward 20 items of guidance on six categories of public health adaptation actions, including understanding basic concepts, comprehending important policies, learning core knowledge, paying attention to key populations, practicing a low-carbon lifestyle, and mastering protection skills. It elaborates on the key concepts and the latest policies that the public needs to understand, and also provides the behavioral concepts and protection skills that should be mastered to adapt to climate change. This article provides a systematic interpretation of the Guidelines, introducing the background, ideas, connotations, and applications of their compilation, with the aim of enhancing society′s cognitive understanding of the Guidelines.

Objective To provide scientific basis for layout planning and standardized cultivation the species of Chrysanthemum indicum complex in future periods,the potential ecological suitable areas was analyzed,.Methods By collecting distribution data of 1379 valid C.indicum complex species nationwide and 104 ecological factors,combined with MaxEnt model and ArcGIS software,the potential ecological distribution areas of C.indicum complex under 17 different climate scenarios was analyzed.Results Precipitation and solar radiation are key environmental variables affecting the suitable habitats of C.indicum complex.The most suitable regions for the growth of C.indicum complex was concentrated in Hubei(C.indicum L.),Shanxi(C.lavandulifolium),Jiangsu(C.nankingense),and Hubei(C.indicum var.aromaticum)regions.Under different scenarios,the suitable habitat area for C.indicum L.and C.lavandulifolium showed an overall decreasing trend,while those for C.indicum var.aromaticum and C.nankingense showed an expanding trend.The centroid shift indicates sensitivity of C.indicum complex to climate change.Conclusion The potential distribution areas of C.indicum complex is classified into ecological suitability levels,providing important reference for the sustainable use,introduction cultivation,and scientific zoning of related resources.

Objective To provide a scientific basis for the quality control of Chrysanthemi Indici Flos medicinal materials and the sustainable development of this resource,the germplasm differences,tissue distribution,and developmental stage changes of flavonoid content in Chrysanthemum indicum was explored.Methods High-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to quantitatively analyze the five main flavonoid compounds,including linarin,tilianin,cynaroside,apigenin,and acacetin.Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(qPCR)technology was used to evaluate the relative expression levels of the rhamnosyltransferase(RhaT)gene at different developmental stages.Results The study found significant differences in flavonoid accumulation among different Chrysanthemum indicum germplasms,with the highest content of linarin observed in the Hubei diploid.Flavonoid content was significantly higher in leaves,flower buds,and flowers compared to stems and roots.Linarin and tilianin peaked at the flower bud stage and then gradually decreased,while the contents of apigenin and acacetin increased with flower development.The qPCR analysis further showed that the expression level of the RhaT gene was highly consistent with the accumulation pattern of linarin.Conclusion The results reveal that flavonoid content in Chrysanthemum indicum is significantly affected by germplasm,tissue type,and developmental stage,providing important data support for the quality evaluation of Chrysanthemum indicum medicinal materials and the rational development of this resource.

ObjectiveTo observe the characteristics of gait symmetry and its influencing factors in patients with incomplete spinal cord injury (ISCI). MethodsFrom May, 2018 to November, 2021, 34 patients with ISCI in Beijing Bo'ai Hospital were divided into symmetrical injury of lower limb (SI) group and asymmetrical injury of lower limb (ASI) group according to the lower extremities motor score (LEMS). Three dimensional motion acquisition system and plantar pressure acquisition system were used for gait test. The symmetry indexes of step length, stance time and swing time were caculated. ResultsThe symmetry indexes of step length, stance time and swing time were significant lower in SI group than in ASI group (|t| > 2.619, P < 0.01). Stance time and swing time significantly correlated to the difference of bilateral LEMS in ASI group (r > 0.468, P < 0.01). Discriminant analysis showed that gait parameter equations were different for patients with different symmetry of lower limb injuries. ConclusionThe symmetry of lower limb motor function impacts gait symmetry for patients with ISCI, especially the difference value of bilateral total LEMS. Gait parameters can be used to determine the symmetry of lower limb injury in patients with ISCI.

ObjectiveTo explore the application of Brain and Spinal Injury Center (BASIC) score in evaluation of traumatic cervical spinal cord injury. MethodsFrom January, 2015 to December, 2021, 175 patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord injury in Beijing Bo'ai Hospital were analyzed. Gender, age, cause of injury, injury mechanism and American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS) grade were collected. The sagittal and axial T₂ weighted imaging (T₂WI) of the patients were evaluated with BASIC score, single/multi-segment injury, and with/without intramedullary hemorrhage. According to the injury mechanism, the patients were divided into two groups: with fracture/fracture dislocation (n = 92) and without fracture and dislocation (n = 83). The baseline demographic indicators and T₂WI evaluation indicators were compared between the two groups, and the relationship between AIS grade and BASIC score, intramedullary hemorrhage, single/multi-segment injury were investigated. ResultsThere were significant differences in gender, age and AIS grade, BASIC score, and the rates of inntramedullary hemorrhage and single segment injury of T₂WI between two groups (t = -10.276, χ² > 8.703, P < 0.01); however, no difference was found in the cause of injury (P > 0.05). The AIS grade was significantly correlated with the BASIC score (r = 0.790, P < 0.001). There was significant difference in AIS grade between intramedullary hemorrhage or not, and single/multi-segment injury (χ² > 5.516, P < 0.05). ConclusionThe BASIC score of T₂WI is a predictor of the severity of spinal cord injury after traumatic cervical spinal cord injury, and is different with the injury mechanisms.

ObjectivesTo introduce the progress in neurological classification of spinal cord injury (SCI) with complications. MethodsThe literatures in recent ten years were reviewed and summarized. ResultsIn January, 2022, a new neurological classification of SCI with complications in the International Standards for Neurological Classification of SCI (ISNCSCI) was published by the focus group of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) International Standards Committee, with the extended "*"-tag concept, sensory and motor examination results impacted by SCI complication above, at, or below the neurological level of injury (NLI) could be consistently documented, scored, and classified. ConclusionThis new taxonomy in neurological classification of SCI with complications has overcome the shortcomings of the previous ISNCSCI versions and benefits the accuracy of ISNCSCI classifications, it could be tried in the clinical application.
