According to the Qi-blood-body fluid theory and the association between the spleen in visceral manifestation theory of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） and mitochondria in modern cellular biology， it is proposed that the role of the spleen in generating and transforming Qi and blood is analogous to the energy-producing function of mitochondria—both serving as fundamental power sources for vital activities of the human body. The spleen governs transportation and transformation， playing a critical role in energy metabolism and the digestion and absorption of nutrients. Similarly， mitochondria are vital for maintaining physiological functions such as cellular energy supply， cell survival， and overall human metabolism. Furthermore， spleen deficiency is closely linked to mitochondrial dysfunction. Accordingly， mitochondrial energy conversion and substance metabolism are regarded as the microscopic essence of the spleen's function in transportation and transformation. Spleen deficiency and mitochondrial dysfunction contribute to the formation of pathological products such as phlegm-turbidity and blood stasis. This aligns with the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD）， with Qi deficiency as the root cause and phlegm-turbidity and blood stasis as the manifestations. Therefore， the integrative treatment of COPD should follow the therapeutic principle of invigorating the spleen and reinforcing healthy Qi， while also resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis to address both root cause and manifestations. This approach can improve the mitochondrial function， regulate energy metabolism， and reduce oxidative stress levels to alleviate COPD symptoms， slow down disease progression， and improve prognosis. By integrating the holistic concept of TCM with molecular mechanisms of modern medicine， this paper explores the pathogenesis and therapeutic principles of COPD from the spleen-mitochondria correlation. It not only provides a new direction for the modern development of TCM and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine but also offers a theoretical foundation for the integrated treatment of chronic， complex age-related diseases.

ObjectiveTo unveil the mechanism of Jianpi Huogu prescription （JPHGP） in ameliorating the dyslipidemia of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femur head （SONFH） by oxylipidomics combined with transcriptomics. MethodsSixty SD rats were assigned into normal， model， low-， medium-， and high-dose （2.5， 5， 10 g·kg^-1， respectively） JPHGP， and Jiangushengwan （1.53 g·kg^-1） groups. Lipopolysaccharide was injected into the tail vein at a dose of 20 μg·kg^-1 on days 1 and 2， and methylprednisolone sodium succinate was injected at a dose of 40 mg·kg^-1 into the buttock muscle on days 3 to 5. The normal group received an equal volume of normal saline. Drug administration by gavage began 4 weeks after the last injection， and samples were taken after administration for 8 weeks. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was conducted to reveal the histopathological changes of the femoral head， and the number of adipocytes， the rate of empty bone lacunae， and the trabecular area were calculated. Micro-computed tomography was used for revealing the histological and histomorphometrical changes of the femoral head. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was employed to measure the serum levels of triglyceride （TG）， total cholesterol （TC）， low-density lipoprotein （LDL）， high-density lipoprotein （HDL）， apolipoprotein A1 （ApoA1）， and apolipoprotein B （ApoB）. At the same time， the femoral head was collected for oxylipidomic and transcriptomic detection. The differential metabolites and differential genes were enriched and analyzed， and the target genes regulating lipid metabolism were predicted. The predicted target proteins were further verified by molecular docking， immunohistochemistry， and Western blot. ResultsCompared with the normal group， the model group showcased thinning of the femoral head， trabecular fracture， karyopyknosis， subchondral cystic degeneration， increases in the number of adipocytes and the rate of empty bone lacunae （P<0.01）， a reduction in the trabecular area （P<0.01）， decreases in BMD， Tb.Th， Tb.N， and BV/TV， and increases in Tb.Sp and BS/BV （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， the JPHGP groups showed no obvious thinning of the femoral head or subchondroidal cystic degeneration. The high- and medium-dose JPHGP groups presented declines in the number of adipocytes and the rate of empty bone lacunae， an increase in the trabecular area （P<0.05， P<0.01）， rises in BMD， Tb.Th， Tb.N， and BV/TV， and decreases in Tb.Sp and BS/BV （P<0.05， P<0.01）. Compared with the normal group， the model group showcased raised serum levels of TG， TC， LDL， and ApoB and lowered serum levels of HDL and ApoA1 （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， the JPHGP groups had lowered serum levels of TG， TC， LDL， and ApoB （P<0.05， P<0.01） and a risen serum level of ApoA1 （P<0.05， P<0.01）. Moreover， the serum level of HDL in the high-dose JPHGP group increased （P<0.01）. A total of 19 different metabolites of disease set and drug set were screened out by oxylipidomics of the femoral head， and 119 core genes with restored expression were detected by transcriptomics. The enriched pathways were mainly concentrated in inflammation， lipids， apoptosis， and osteoclast differentiation. Molecular docking， immunohistochemistry， and Western blot results showed that compared with the normal group， the model group displayed increased content of 5-lipoxygenase （5-LO） and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ （PPARγ） in the femoral head （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， medium- and high-dose JPHGP reduced the content of 5-LO and PPARγ （P<0.05， P<0.01）. ConclusionJPHGP can restore the levels of oxidized lipid metabolites by regulating the 5-LO-PPARγ axis to treat SONFH in rats. Relevant studies provide experimental evidence for the efficacy mechanism of JPHGP in the treatment of SONFH.

Objective To investigate the current status of quality control of radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment in Shenzhen City, explore the problems in quality control testing of radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment, and provide control strategies. Methods According to the requirements of the Special Monitoring Work Plan for Radiation Health in Shenzhen, quality control tests were carried out on some radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment in Shenzhen according to the test items and methods of the currently valid national standards. Results From 2019 to 2023, a total of 72 medical institutions participated in radiological health monitoring program in Shenzhen, and 839 quality control tests were performed on radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment. The qualified rate was 91.8% in preliminary tests. The qualified rates of radiological diagnosis, radiotherapy, and nuclear medicine equipment were 91.9%, 96.3%, and 62.5%, respectively. The primary unqualified items were response uniformity, flatness of the X-ray irradiation field, and intrinsic spatial linearity. Conclusion The qualified rate in quality control of nuclear medical equipment is relatively low. Medical institutions should strengthen the routine maintenance of radiological diagnosis and treatment equipment. Radiological health technical service institutions should enhance the training of technical personnel to ensure the health and safety of patients and radiation workers.

Objective To analyze the activity concentrations of gross α, gross β, and radionuclides in atmospheric fallout around Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant from 2019 to 2022, and provide foundational scientific data for the healthy development of nuclear energy. Methods Five monitoring sites were set up at different distances (1.2, 6.9, 12.4, 42.3, and 69.2 km) from Daya Bay Nuclear Island 1. Stainless steel sampling barrels were used to collect atmospheric fallout, with a monitoring cycle of three months. The collected samples were ashed using radiochemical method. Subsequently, the gross α and gross β radioactivity were quantified using a low-background α/β measurement instrument. The remaining ash samples were mixed with water and left to equilibrate for over three weeks before γ-nuclide analysis using a low-background, high-purity germanium γ-spectrometer. Results The gross α activity concentration in atmospheric fallout around Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant from 2019 to 2022 averaged (25.3 ± 10.6) Bq/m²/season and ranged from 5.8 to 73.4 Bq/m²/season. The gross α activity concentrations in sampling sites #1 to #5 were 5.8-34.4, 11.9-35.2, 14.4-46.4, 7.2-73.4, and 13.1-43.1 Bq/m²/season, respectively. The gross β activity concentration averaged (50.5 ± 23.4) Bq/m²/season and ranged from 13.9 to 139.3 Bq/m²/season. The gross β activity concentrations of sampling sites #1 to #5 were 17.1-107.4, 17.6-87.5, 25.8-102.0, 13.9-139.3, and 23.4-99.2 Bq/m²/season, resprctively. The activity concentrations of ²³⁸U, ²²⁶Ra, ²³²Th, ⁴⁰K, ²¹⁰Pb, and ⁷Be in atmospheric fallout were < lower limit of detection (LLD)-4.2, < LLD-5.8, < LLD-6.3, < LLD-42.1, < LLD-514.0, and 35.7-1761.0 Bq/m²/season, respectively. Gross α and gross β activity concentrations were significantly positively correlated with ²¹⁰Pb activity concentration (r=0.770, α < 0.001; r=0.882, α < 0.001, respectively). Gross β activity concentration showed a significant positive correlation with ⁷Be (r=0.833, α < 0.001). The activity concentrations of ⁵⁴Mn, ⁵⁷Co, ⁵⁸Co, ⁶⁰Co, ⁵⁹Fe, ⁹⁵Zr, ¹⁰³Ru, ¹⁰⁶Ru, ^110mAg, ¹³¹I, ¹³⁴Cs, ¹³⁷ Cs, ¹⁴⁰Ba and ¹⁹²Ir were lower than the LLD of the instrument, and no artificial radionuclides were detected. Conclusion The gross α and gross β radioactive activity concentrations in the atmospheric fallout in the surrounding area of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant during 2019-2022 were affected by natural radionuclides ²¹⁰Pb and ⁷Be, and were in the normal fluctuation ranges. No artificial radionuclides were found in the atmospheric fallout, and the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant was in a safe and stable state of operation.

Abstract Cohort studies characterized by clear temporal sequencing, rigorous control of confounding factors, and other methodological strengths, has effectively promoted scientific exploration of the effects of pregnancy exposure on children s health. The review focuses on the impacts of adverse maternal factors during pregnancy on children s physical growth and development, sorts out the scientific evidence on the longitudinal association between adverse exposures (such as endocrine and metabolic disorders，environmental pollutants，lifestyle factors，and psychological stressors) and children s growth trajectories in existing cohort studies, explores the path of transforming high quality research results into potential public health intervention strategies to promote the in depth development of health protection for children and adolescents, thereby contributing to enhancing population health and the long term goal of sustainable societal development.

Objective: To analyze the relationship between body mass index(BMI) during pre pregnancy, maternal lipid levels during early pregnancy and childhood overweight and obesity, as well as the mediating role of maternal lipid levels during early pregnancy in pre pregnancy BMI and childhood overweight and obesity, providing scientific evidence for developing obesity prevention strategies in preschool children. Methods: Using data from Peking University Birth Cohort in Tongzhou (PKUBC-T) collected between June 2018 and September 2022, the study included 1 292 mother-child pairs. Participants were stratified into two groups based on children s BMI Z scores at age 3: an overweight/obesity risk group (BMI Z >1, n =173) and a non overweight/obesity risk group (BMI Z ≤1, n =1 119).Multivariate Logistic regression was conducted to analyze the associations between pre pregnancy BMI, maternal lipid levels[total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride（TG）,high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),TC/HDL-C,TG/HDL-C,LDL-C/HDL-C] during early pregnancy and childhood overweight and obesity. The mediating effect of maternal lipid levels during early pregnancy on pre pregnancy BMI and childhood overweight and obesity was further explored. Results: There were statistically significant differences in pregnancy BMI levels, early pregnancy blood LDL-C ,TC/HDL-C,LDL-C/HDL-C levels between the overweight and obesity risk group and the non overweight and obesity risk group ( χ 2/Z =19.01, 2.48, 2.48, 2.71, all P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that pre pregnancy BMI, LDL-C, TC/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C in early pregnancy were significantly associated with childhood overweight and obesity ( OR =1.09, 1.42, 1.49, 1.60, all P <0.05). LDL-C, TC/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C in early pregnancy played a significant mediating role on pre pregnancy BMI and childhood obesity and the mediating effects accounted for 7.3%, 10.2%, 23.5% of the total effects, respectively (all P <0.05). Conclusions Maternal hyperlipidemia during early pregnancy partially mediated the association between pre pregnancy obesity and childhood obesity. Both pre pregnancy obesity and maternal hyperlipidemia during early pregnancy are risk factors for obesity in preschool children.

Abstract Exposure to per and polyfuloroalkyl substances(PFASs) during pregnancy may pose hazards to fetuses at the sensitive early stage of life, impacting intrauterine and postnatal growth and development. By reviewing existing domestic and international studies, the article summarizes the internal exposure levels of PFASs in pregnant women from different countries and regions, and clarifies the impact of prenatal PFASs exposure on the growth and development of offspring and potential biological mechanisms, so as to provide a basis for subsequent cohort studies and the formulation of protective policies.

Objective To compare the efficacy of modified radiofrequency ablation (RFA) combined with sclerosing agent injection and high stripping and ligation (HSL) combined with sclerosing agent injection in the treatment of great saphenous vein varicosity. Methods A total of 220 patients (252 affected limbs) who underwent surgery for great saphenous vein varicosity at Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from May 2022 to March 2024 were selected. They were divided into RFA group (110 patients and 125 affected limbs treated with modified RFA combined with sclerosing agent injection) and HSL group (110 patients and 127 affected limbs treated with HSL combined with sclerosing agent injection) according to the surgical methods. The treatment effect, surgical time, bleeding during the surgery, time to get out of bed after surgery, and various postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. The pain level, disease severity, and the quality of life were measured using the visual analog scale (VAS), venous clinical severity score (VCSS) and chronic venous insufficiency questionnaire-14 item (CIVIQ-14), respectively. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups of patients, but the distribution of efficacy levels in the RFA group was better than that in the HSL group (P＝0.044). Compared with the HSL group, the RFA group had shorter surgery time, fewer incisions during surgery, less bleeding during the surgical process, shorter time to get out of bed after surgery（P＜0.01）, and a lower overall complication rate (P＝0.006). The RFA group had lower postoperative VAS, VCSS, and CIVIQ-14 scores than the HSL group 1 month after surgery (P＜0.01). During 6 months of postoperative follow-up, the recurrence rates were similar between the two groups. Conclusions Compared with HSL combined with sclerosing agent injection, the modified RFA combined with sclerosing agent injection for the great saphenous vein varicosity has the advantages of less trauma, faster recovery, fewer complications, better postoperative quality of life, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
