Purpose To explore the feasibility and clinical value of deep learning-based image reconstruction technology in 5.0T MRI for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Materials and Methods A prospective study was conducted on 50 newly diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients from August to December 2024 at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.5.0T MRI was performed to scan the nasopharynx region.Routine scanning protocols included transverse T2WI,transverse T1WI,transverse contrast-enhanced T1WI and coronal fat-suppressed contrast-enhanced T1WI sequences.Based on these standard scanning protocols,DeepRecon deep learning reconstruction technology with different levels(grade 1-5)was applied, generating a total of 24 sets of images.Qualitative evaluation employed a Likert scale(5-point system)for subjective scoring on lesion detection, lesion edge clarity, artifacts and overall image quality.Quantitative evaluation was performed using the signal-to-noise ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio to objectively assess the quality of the 24 image sets.Differences in qualitative and quantitative indicators between different groups were compared, while the Kappa coefficient was used to analyze the consistency of subjective evaluations by two radiologists. Results In the qualitative assessment of 24 image sets from four MRI sequences(with and without DeepRecon reconstruction),DeepRecon images(grade 2-4)significantly outperformed traditional images in all features except for artifact reduction(Z=-12.11--6.23,all P<0.001).Images reconstructed at DeepRecon grade 3 had the highest overall score and the best image quality.Furthermore, compared with traditional images,DeepRecon images(grade 2-5)demonstrated significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio for both lesions and the lateral pterygoid muscle(t=-15.67--3.44,Z=-6.09--4.63,all P<0.01).In addition,in the transverse T2WI,transverse contrast-enhanced T1WI and coronal fat-suppressed contrast-enhanced T1WI images with DeepRecon reconstruction(grade 2-5),the contrast-to-noise ratio(lesion/lateral pterygoid muscle)also showed significant improvement compared to traditional images(t=-12.71--3.19,Z=-6.08--4.47,all P<0.001).The inter-observer agreement for the overall subjective quality score between the two radiologists was good(Kappa=0.75-0.82,all P<0.01).Conclusion DeepRecon deep learning reconstruction technology significantly increases the signal-to-noise ratio and resolution of traditional magnetic resonance images of nasopharyngeal cancer, improving image clarity and bringing more possibilities for the advancement of imaging diagnosis.

Objective:To investigate the contributing factors to elevated blood pressure in borderline cases during medical selection for recruitment of Air Force flying cadets in order to enhance the accuracy of selection. Methods:Blood pressure was measured among 2 350 male high school graduates in the 2022 re-selection phase of medical selection of Air Force flying cadets. None of the participants had a family history of hypertension according to previous health checkups. Identified through blood pressure measurement, subjects with borderline hypertension were assigned to an intervention group (self-intervention with personalized correction plans) and a control group (self-intervention alone) using a random number table. Standardized blood pressure measurements and comprehensive medical history reviews were performed to compare pre- and post-intervention outcomes across the 2 groups, followed by an investigation into the causative mechanisms of elevated blood pressure. Results:Among the 102 cases of borderline hypertension (51 per group) identified, primary contributing factors included the white-coat phenomenon (41.2%), pre-examination physical activity (17.6%), pre-examination medications (3.9%) and poor sleep quality (35.3%). No significant differences in systolic blood pressure (SBP) or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were observed between the 2 groups at baseline (both P>0.05). After interventions, the intervention group showed significantly lower SBP ( t=3.13, P=0.002) and DBP ( t=7.68, P<0.001) than the control group. Both groups exhibited reductions in SBP and DBP from baseline ( t=6.63, 8.97, 4.13, 2.03, P<0.001, <0.001, <0.001, =0.043). The percentage of students with normal blood pressure was 96.1% (49/51) in the intervention group and 78.4% (40/51) in the control group. Conclusions:Transient blood pressure elevation in selection settings primarily stems from the white-coat phenomenon, physical exertion, medications and sleep disturbances. Standardizing blood pressure measurement protocols and addressing transient factors can help avoid unwarranted disqualifications and ensure the accuracy of selection.

Objective:To preliminarily examine the feasibility and outcome of single-port laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with full-length urethral preservation (FLUP-SPRP).Method:This study was a prospective case series study. A total of 25 patients with prostate cancer who met the enrollment criteria and agreed to this surgical procedure from March 2022 to December 2022 were collected at the Department of Urology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. The age of the patients was (67.2±7.6) years (range: 61 to 76 years). This novel procedure was performed by an experienced surgeon who performed single hole radical prostatectomy skillfully. Patient urinary control, tumor control, and related surgical complications after surgery were regularly monitored. Postoperative urinary control was evaluated using the daily amount of urine pad, 0 to 1 piece of urine pad was to restore urinary control, and 0 to 1 piece of pad within 24 hours after catheter removal was immediate urinary control.Result:All prodecures were successfully completed without transit to open surgery. The surgical time was (128.4±22.4) minutes (range: 100 to 145 minutes), the intraoperative blood loss was (68.2±13.7) ml (range: 50 to 120 ml). The urethral injury occurred in 4 cases during surgery and was repaired by sutures. The urinary control recovery rates within 24 hours, 1 week, 4 weeks, and 7 weeks after surgery were 80.0%, 84.0%, 92.0% and 100%, respectively. Postoperative large section pathology revealed 1 case with a positive basal margin of the prostate and negative margins of all prostate glands around the urethra. Postoperative complications included urinary tract infection in 3 cases, urodynia in 2 cases, and acute urinary retention in 1 case. MRI follow-up 3 months after surgery showed normal anatomy of the bladder and urethra. The follow-up values of prostate specific antigen at 3 and 6 months after surgery were less than 0.1 μg/L.Conclusions:The preliminary results of this study indicate that the FLUP-SPRP procedure is safe and feasible. The early results of postoperative urinary control and oncology are as expected.

In order to reveal the association between single nucleotide-based polymorphism(low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5,LRP5),DNA of 98 Chinese Holstein cows were ex-tracted and the LRP 5 gene polymorphism locus was detected by direct sequencing, and related dif-ferent genotypes and milk quality traits at the SNP loci was analyzed. The results showed that three SNPs were found on the fourth intron of the LRP 5 gene,I4-90 C>T,I4-229 C>A and I4-570 A>G.Among them,I4-90 C>T had TT,CC and TC genotypes, and TC genotype was signifi-cantly higher than TT and CC genotypes(P<0.05).However,mutations at this locus were not significantly associated with milk yield and fat content(P>0.05);genotypes CC and C for I4-229 C>A;genotypes AA,GG and GA for I4-570 A>G.The two mutation sites showed no significant correlation with milk quality traits in Chinese Holstein dairy cows(P>0.05).The above results indicate that the I4-90 C>T site of LRP 5 gene can be used for marker-assisted selection as molec-ular markers affecting milk quality traits in Chinese Holstein cows.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in the 3'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphosulfate synthase 2(PAPSS2)gene and milk quality traits in Chinese Holstein cows.A total of 141 Chinese Holstein cows were sampled, and their DNA was extracted to detect polymorphic sites in the PAPSS2 gene using direct sequencing technology. The genotypes at different SNP sites were then correlated with milk quality traits. The results i-dentified three SNP sites in the second intron of the PAPSS2 gene:I2-3686 A>G,I2-3854 G>C,and I2-3917 G>A,each exhibiting three genotypes.Specifically,at the first SNP site, individuals with the AG genotype demonstrated significantly higher milk fat and solids content compared to those with the GG genotype(P<0.05).At the second SNP site, individuals with the GG genotype exhibited significantly higher urinary nitrogen content than those with the GC and CC genotypes(P<0.05).No significant differences were observed in milk quality traits associated with the third SNP site. These findings suggest that SNP sites in the PAPSS2 gene can serve as molecular mark-ers influencing milk quality traits in Chinese Holstein cows, providing potential applications for marker-assisted selection in dairy cattle.
