Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and disease burden of liver cancer in Guangdong Province in 2020, and to provide a scientific foundation for the development of regionalized prevention and control strategies for liver cancer. Methods According to the cancer registry data of Guangdong Province, the incidence, mortality and age-standardized rate by Chinese standard population in 2020 were calculated to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of liver cancer. The disability adjusted life years (DALYs), year of life loss (YLL), year of lived with disability (YLD), and cause-eliminated life expectancy were used to assess the disease burden of liver cancer. Results In 2020, the crude incidence rate and the age-standardized incidence rate of liver cancer in Guangdong Province were 27.79/100 000 and 20.84/100 000,respectively, and the crude mortality rate and the age-standardized mortality rate of liver cancer were 25.49/100,000 and 17.64/100 000, respectively. The total DALY and DALY rate of liver cancer in Guangdong Province were 515 311 person-years and 513.83/100 000, respectively. After eliminating the causes of death from liver cancer, the life expectancy in Guangdong Province increased from 84.60 years to 84.99 years. All indicators consistently demonstrated that the burden of liver cancer was higher in males than that in females, and the burden of liver cancer was higher in rural areas than that in urban areas. Conclusion Liver cancer in Guangdong Province exhibits a high incidence, mortality and disease burden level in 2020. There are obvious differences of gender, age and region in cancer burden. It is necessary to strengthen liver cancer screening and diagnosis and treatment in men, the elderly and those in rural areas to reduce the burden of liver cancer gradually in Guangdong Province.

Objective:To explore the current status of lumbar paraspinal muscle functional exercise in patients undergoing lumbar fusion surgery, and to analyze the facilitators and barriers affecting these exercises in order to provide a theoretical basis for developing targeted interventions. Methods:This qualitative study was guided by the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills (IMB) model. Semi-structured interviews were conducted between September and November 2024 with 13 postoperative patients, 13 medical staff from the spine surgery ward, and four family caregivers at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Capital Medical University. Data were orgznized, analyzed and coded using Colaizzi's seven-step method. Results:A total of three major themes and 14 subthemes were identified. The first major theme highlighted various facilitating factors, including perceived benefits of rehabilitation, a trusting physician-patient relationship, strong motivation for recovery, and patient preference in exercise choices. The second major theme revealed several barriers, including residual postoperative symptoms, psychological burden, lack of awareness, limited access to information, uncomfortable experiences during exercise, and negative family support. The third major theme described the current issues of clinical implementation, including unclear role definitions among healthcare staff, inefficient exercise models, lack of standardized protocols and guidelines, and the need to establish a support and follow-up system. Conclusions:The implementation of lumbar paraspinal muscle functional exercises post-lumbar fusion surgery is influenced by multiple facilitating and hindering factors. Healthcare professionals should leverage facilitators and overcome barriers by adopting targeted strategies to optimize postoperative rehabilitation care practices.

ObjectiveTo develop a scientifically rigorous and contextually appropriate instrument for evaluating the health service experience of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in China, to enable systematic assessment of core medical care dimensions, and to provide quantitative evidence for service improvement. MethodsGrounded in the theoretical framework of healthcare accessibility and the clinical care pathway for tuberculosis patients, the tool was developed through a systematic literature review and the Delphi expert consultation method. A multi-stage cluster sampling strategy was employed to survey pulmonary tuberculosis patients who had been receiving treatment for more than two months, aimed to explore the scale’s applicability in real-world settings. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s α and split-half reliability coefficients. Validity was evaluated through content validity, structural validity, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. ResultsThe tool was composed of 21 items across four dimensions: awareness, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability of tuberculosis medical care. It demonstrated a Cronbach’s α coefficient of 0.838 and a split-half reliability coefficient of 0.859. Exploratory factor analyses extracted six factors: satisfaction with healthcare services, supportive role of nurses, affordability of treatment costs, doctor-patient communication, waiting time for medical appointments, and transportation cost. The goodness-of-fit index (GFI) and other indices met the recommended standards, with the loading matrix indicating robust structural validity of the tool. The constructed factor model exhibited satisfactory content validity and discriminant validity. ConclusionThe scale for assessing patients’ experiences with tuberculosis-related medical care developed in this study demonstrates good reliability and validity and serves as a practical tool for evaluating patient experiences of tuberculosis medical care in China.
