Gastric cancer is a high-incidence malignancy that poses a serious threat to public health in China, ranking among the top three cancers in both incidence and mortality. The majority of patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage, resulting in limited treatment options and poor prognosis. To address key challenges in gastric cancer diagnosis and treatment, a research team led by Professor Jiafu Ji at Peking University Cancer Hospital has focused on the project "Development and Dissemination of Precision Medicine Approaches in Gastric Cancer Management". Through a series of high-quality multicenter clinical studies, the team established a set of new international standards in perioperative treatment, individua-lized drug selection, intelligent noninvasive diagnostics, and novel immunotherapy strategies. These advances have significantly improved treatment efficacy and reduced surgical trauma, achieving key technological breakthroughs in diagnosis, therapy, and mechanistic understanding, and systematically enhancing outcomes for gastric cancer patients. The project ' s findings had a broad international impact, including hosting China ' s first International Gastric Cancer Congress. Through nationwide dissemination, they have promoted the development of precision diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer as a discipline, and led the formulation of the National Health Commission's guidelines for gastric cancer diagnosis and treatment. In recognition of its achievements, the project was awarded the First Prize of the 2024 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award.

BACKGROUND:
Owing to the high prevalence of antibiotic resistance in Helicobacter pylori ( H. pylori ) in China, bismuth-containing quadruple therapies have been recommended for H. pylori eradication. This study compared the efficacy and safety of quadruple regimens containing vonoprazan vs . esomeprazole for H. pylori eradication in a patient population in China.
METHODS:
This was a phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind study. Patients with confirmed H. pylori infection were randomized 1:1 to receive quadruple therapy for 14 days: amoxicillin 1000 mg and clarithromycin 500 mg after meals, bismuth potassium citrate 600 mg before meals, plus either vonoprazan 20 mg or esomeprazole 20 mg before meals, all twice daily. The primary outcome was the eradication rate of H. pylori , evaluated using a 13 C urea breath test at 4 weeks after treatment. The non-inferiority margin was at 10%.
RESULTS:
The study included 510 patients, 506 of whom completed the follow-up assessment. The primary analysis revealed eradication rates of 86.8% (210/242) and 86.7% (208/240) for vonoprazan and esomeprazole therapy, respectively (treatment difference: 0.1%; 95% confidence interval [CI]: -5.95, 6.17; non-inferiority P = 0.0009). Per-protocol analysis showed eradication rates of 87.4% for vonoprazan and 86.3% for esomeprazole (treatment difference: 1.2%; 95% CI: -5.03, 7.36; non-inferiority P = 0.0004). Vonoprazan and esomeprazole were well tolerated, with similar safety profiles.
CONCLUSION:
Vonoprazan was found to be well-tolerated and non-inferior to esomeprazole for eradicating H. pylori in patients from China.

Neck dissection(ND)is one of the main treatment methods for oral and maxillofacial malignancies.Although ND type is in con-stant improvement, but intraoperative peal-pull-push injury of the accessory nerve, muscle, muscle membrane, fascia and ligament induced shoulder syndrome(SS)is still a common postoperative complication, combined with the influence of radiochemotherapy, not only can cause pain, stiffness, numbness, limited dysfunction of shoulder neck and arm,but also may have serious impact on patient's life quality and phys-ical and mental health. At present, there is still a lack of a systematic evaluation and rehabilitation management program for postoperative SS of oral and maxillofacial malignant tumors.Based on the previous clinical practice and the current available evidence, refer to the relevant lit-erature at home and abroad, the experts in the field of maxillofacial tumor surgery and rehabilitation were invited to discuss, modify and reach a consenusus on the etiology, assessment diagnosis, differential diagnosis, rehabilitation strategy and prevention of SS,in order to provide clinical reference.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2018;34(8):661-668
Objective:
To explore whether human adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) express PD-L1 and Gal-9 and its potential influence factors.
Methods:
ADSCs isolated from 28 healthy female donors who underwent liposuction of the abdomen or breast tissue were cultured and characterized. The expression of PD-L1 and Gal-9 were detected using flow cytometry. The impact of donor age, body mass index (BMI), donor site and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) on the expression of PD-L1 and Gal-9 was analyzed using multivariate linear regression analysis.
Results:
The cultured cells fulfilled the criteria for defining MSCs according to the international standards and expressed PD-L1 and Gal-9. Breast-derived ADSCs had higher expression levels of PD-L1 (37.24%±8.20%) and Gal-9 ( 4.41%±2.65%) than those in abdomen-derived ADSCs (28.80%±8.59% and 2.51%±1.39%, respectively) (
