Glioma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system, and there are great differences in treatment and prognosis among different types of glioma. An accurate understanding of the pathological classification, molecular classification and differential diagnosis of glioma or other information before surgery is conducive to the clinical treatment and postoperative assessment of patients' prognosis,so as to improve the quality of life of patients. Radiomics has provided great help for the preoperative detection of glioma patients by non-invasive prediction of molecular types of different gliomas through high-throughput extraction of quantitative features of lesions. MRI is safe and radiation-free. The application of structure and multiple functional sequences provides us with clinical information at different levels. This article reviews the application of MRI-based radiomics in molecular classification of glioma.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of modified open necrosectomy (MON) and small incision combined with nephroscopic operation (SINO) in the "one-step" treatment for infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN).Methods:The clinical data of 28 patients with IPN undergoing " one-step" surgery in Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from December 2012 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, including 17 males and 11 females, aged (53.2±13.0) years old. The general information, characteristics of pancreatitis and other clinical data of patients were collected. The white blood cell count, neutrophil count, hematocrit, C-reactive protein (CRP) and other laboratory indicators were compared before and 7 days after surgery. Patients were followed up by outpatient or telephone review. Results:Among the patients, 16 were treated with MON and 12 with SINO. All procedures were successfully completed. Compared to preoperative data, white blood cell count [9.6(6.7, 12.6)×10 9/L vs. 12.7(8.2, 16.6)×10 9/L] and CRP 48.0(25.5, 86.4) mg/L vs. 60.0(23.6, 86.8) mg/L] decreased after surgery (both P<0.05). In MON group, three patients could tolerate fat diet, nine restored physical self-maintenance, and nine returned to occupation after surgery. In SINO group, three patients could tolerate fat diet, six restored physical self-maintenance, and three returned to occupation after surgery. The mortality of 28 patients was 10.7% (3/28). None of patients had incisional hernia. No major complications occurred in MON group. In SINO group, one patient developed new organ failure, two suffered postoperative bleeding requiring intervention, and four suffered new hollow visceral perforation or gastrointestinal fistula. Conclusion:Both MON and SINO are safe and feasible for one-step treatment in patients with IPN.

Objective:To investigate the value of synthetic MRI for evaluating lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration. Methods:A total of 414 lumbar intervertebral discs from 85 patients were included prospectively from September 2018 to February 2019 in First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University. The T 1, T 2 and proton density (PD) mapping were generated from synthetic MRI. Two doctors measured the T 1, T 2 and PD values to evaluate intraobserver agreement by using ICC. For Pfirrmann grade comparisons, the variables with normal distribution were analyzed with the one-way analysis of variance, whereas those with skewed distribution were analyzed with the Kruskal-Wallis H test. Furthermore, the ROC curves were used on significant parameters to evaluate their diagnostic efficacy. The Z test was used to compare the differences of area under the ROC curves (AUC). Results:The color of the quantitative mapping changed along with the increase of the Pfirrmann grade of the intervertebral discs, which corresponded to the decrease of the T 2WI signal intensity. The ICC values of the quantitative values of nucleus pulposus indicated excellent agreement (ICC>0.900), followed by anterior annulus fibrosus (ICC>0.700) and then the posterior annulus fibrosus (ICC>0.600). The results of the adjacent Pfirrmann grade comparisons were as follows: between Pfirrmann grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ, the differences of T 2 and PD values of nucleus pulposus were statistically significant ( P=0.004 and P<0.001, respectively); between Pfirrmann grade Ⅱ and Ⅲ, the differences of T 1, T 2 and PD values of nucleus pulposus were statistically significant (all P<0.001); between Pfirrmann grade Ⅲ to Ⅳ, the T 1, T 2 and PD values of nucleus pulposus (all P<0.001) and the T 1 and PD values of posterior annulus fibrosus ( P=0.025, P<0.001, respectively) had statistically significant differences; between Pfirrmann grade Ⅳ to Ⅴ, the difference of T 2 values of nucleus pulposus were statistically significant ( P=0.031). The AUC of T 2 values of nucleus pulposus between Pfirrmann grade Ⅱ to Ⅲ and grade Ⅳ to V were higher than those of the PD values ( Z=2.443, 3.591 and P=0.015,<0.001). Conclusions:Synthetic MRI can quantitatively evaluate lumbar disc degeneration, in which the T 2 value of nucleus pulposus may be the most effective parameter with high repeatability.

ZNF804A rs1344706 has been identified as one of the risk genes for schizophrenia. However, the neural mechanisms underlying this association are unknown. Given that ZNF804A upregulates the expression of COMT, we hypothesized that ZNF804A may influence brain activity by interacting with COMT. Here, we genotyped ZNF804A rs1344706 and COMT rs4680 in 218 healthy Chinese participants. Amplitudes of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFFs) were applied to analyze the main and interaction effects of ZNF804A rs1344706 and COMT rs4680. The ALFFs of the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex showed a significant ZNF804A rs1344706 × COMT rs4680 interaction, manifesting as a U-shaped modulation, presumably by dopamine signaling. Significant main effects were also found. These findings suggest that ZNF804A affects the resting-state functional activation by interacting with COMT, and may improve our understanding of the neurobiological effects of ZNF804A and its association with schizophrenia.

Objective:
To construct a scientific behavioral research of pasta matrix reaching task (PMRT) and comprehensively evaluate sensory-motor dysfunction caused by brain injury.
Methods:
Twenty-one SD rats were subjected to 14-days pasta matrix grasping training and then were randomly divided into model group (11 rats) and sham group (6 rats). Motor cortex ischemia was induced by injection of endothelin-1 in SD rats. The number of pasta grabed by the injured forelimb and the location in matrix were evaluated daily 7 days after surgery. The infarct volume was measured by Nissl staining at the 7 days, 14 days, and 28 days after stroke.
Results:
The number of pasta obtained by rats was reduced from (33.43±1.02) to (20.57±0.57) at 7 days post stroke in model group, and then increased to (26.85±0.98) at 28 days post stroke, although there was a significant difference between sham group(32.33±1.45) and ischemic group (
