Alzheimer's disease(AD)is an age-related neurodegenerative disease with an increasing incidence worldwide.A large number of studies have shown that the incidence rates of hearing loss is high in patients with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease,and may be a risk factor for the occurrence and development of cognitive impairment.There is an interaction between the two,but the causal mechanism is still unclear.Early screening and management of hearing impairment may play an important role in the early diagnosis,symptom im-provement and disease progression of Alzheimer's disease.This paper reviews relevant clinical and basic research to discuss the correlation between hearing loss and Alzheimer's disease,and the possible causal mechanism between them.

Middle-aged and elderly patients with femoral neck fracture often suffer from basic diseases. Conservative treatment will significantly increase the incidence of complications. At present, surgical treatment is mostly advocated. Internal fixation is one of the effective treatment methods for middle-aged and elderly patients with femoral neck fracture. It has the advantages of improving hip joint function, accelerating patient recovery, and improving patient quality of life. At present, there are many choices of internal fixation in the world, each has its own advantages and disadvantages, and there is no unified standard. Different surgical methods can be selected according to various factors such as fracture type, patient′s physical condition and surgical auxiliary technology. This article reviews the clinical progress of internal fixation for femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and elderly patients from four aspects: the characteristics of femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and elderly patients, common internal fixation methods, 3D printing guide plate auxiliary technology and artificial intelligence auxiliary technology.

Bone defects caused by trauma, infection, tumor and other factors is a thorny problem in orthopedic clinic, and promoting bone repair and regeneration is the key and difficult point of treatment. In addition to autologous bone grafting, artificial bone materials are often used for large bone defects. β-tricalcium phosphate has good biocompatibility, bone conduction and bone induction properties, and has been studied deeply because of its excellent drug delivery performance and has shown broad application prospects. In this paper, the author will summarize the research progress of β-tricalcium phosphate composites loaded with different drugs in the treatment of bone defects caused by trauma, infection and tumor.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between apoptosis of myocardial cells in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) and the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax protein, and the protective effect of stellate ganglion block on apoptosis of myocardial cells. METHODS: A total of 32 ten-week-old male SHRs were assigned randomly into 4 groups: a left stellate ganglion block group (group LS), a right stellate ganglion block group (group RS), a captopril group (group D) and a control group (group C). The arterial systolic blood pressure was measured by ALC-NIBP system. After 10 weeks, all rats were anaesthetized by 3% pentobarbital sodium, cardiomyocyte apoptosis index of left ventricle was assessed by TUNEL, and the localization of myocardium Bcl-2, Bax was investigated by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Compared with group LS and C, the apoptotic index decreased (P<0.05). SHR myocardial expression of Bcl-2 significantly increased (P<0.05), Bax expression significantly decreased (P<0.05) and Bcl-2/Bax was significantly higher (P<0. 05) in group RS. CONCLUSION Bcl-2 and Bax play an important role in the apoptosis of myocardial cells in SHRs. Right stellate ganglion block can reduce the apoptosis of myocardial cells and reverse the reconstruction of the left ventricle in SHRs via regulation of apoptosis-related gene proteins.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of stellate ganglion block on reconstruction of the left ventricle in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs). METHODS: Thirty-two 10-week-old male SHRs were randomly assigned into 4 groups: a left stellate ganglion block group (group LS), a right stellate ganglion block group (group RS), a captopril group (group D) and a control group (group C). The arterial systolic blood pressure (SBP) was measured by ALC-NIBP measuring system. After 10 weeks, we observed the left ventricular mass index (LVMI), myocardial pathologic changes, and detected the endothelin (ET-1) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) level in the left ventricle by radioimmunoassay and the collagen protein level in the left ventricle by immunohistochemical method. RESULTS: Compared with group LS and group C, the LVMI in group RS was lowered most notably (P<0.05) and pathological changes were improved obviously. The expression of eNOS in group RS was significantly increased and ET-1 significantly decreased (P<0.05) compared with that in group C and group LS. The expression of type I collagen fibers in group RS was significantly lower and type III collagen fibers significantly higher (P<0.05) when compared with that in group C and LS. CONCLUSION Right stellate ganglion block can not only decrease the arterial pressure but also reverse the reconstruction of the left ventricle.

Objective To investigate the effect of stellate ganglion block(SGB)on heart mte variability (HRV)during thyroidectomy performed under cervical plexus block.Methods Forty-five ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ pafients of both sexy8(8 males,37 females) aged 20-60 yr,weighing 40-70 kg undergoing elective thyroidectomy under cervical plexus block were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=15 each):group Ⅰ control,group Ⅱ left SGB and group Ⅲ right SGB.The parameters of HRV included low frequency(LF),high frequency(HF),LFnu,HFnu and LF/HF ratio.SBP,DBP,HB and HRV parameters were recorded before anesthesia(To,baseline),immediately(T1) and at 5 and 10 rain after cervical plexus block(T2,T3),at the beginning and end of operation (T4,T5).Results SBP and DBP were significantly increased at different time points after cervical plexus block in all 3 groups.Compared with the baseline at T0,LFnu and LF/HF ratio were significantly increased while HR,HF and HFnu decreased during operation in group Ⅰ,LF,HF and HFnu were significantly decreased while HR increased during operation in group Ⅲ(P<0.05),but no significant change in HRV parameters was found during operation in group Ⅱ(P>0.05).Compared with group Ⅰ,HR and LFnu were significantly decreased while HF and HFnu increased in group Ⅱ(P<0.05),but no significant change was found in the indexes mentioned abovein group Ⅲ (P>0.05).Conclusion SGB can adjust cervical plexus block-induced sympathetic excitability and maintain the balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic tension.Left SGB outweighs right SGB.

Objective To carry out a taxonomic identification of a strain of claviform bacteria iso-lated from prostatic fluid of a patient who suffered from chronic prostatitis, and to approach its phylogenic and biologic position. Methods We undertaked an initial identification by phenotypic characters such as morphologecal, physiological and biochemical characteristics to ascertain its phylogeny by chemical composi-tion analysis of cell wall and 16S rRNA gene sequencing and alignment. Results A club-shaped gram posi-tive rod bacillus was isolated in pure culture state. Its biochemical reactions were not active. The diamino-acid of cell wall was meso-diaminopimelic acid (meso-DAP) and it had wall chemotype Ⅳ ( contained arabi-nose, galactose and maltose ). Sequence searches of the GenBank database revealed that this strain had a highest level of 16S rDNA sequence similarity (99.4%) to C. tuberculostearicurn strain ATCC35692 with only 8 nucleotides difference. Conclusion On the basis of phenotypic and phylngenetie analysis, it is rea-sonable to assign this strain to the species C. tuberculostearicum, and this is the first isolation of C. tubercu-lostearicum from prostatic fluid home and abroad.

Objective To introduce the clinical application of a extensive revense peroneal artery flap in repairing big soft tissue defect in foot, especially in repairing a big defect in distal foot and the exposure of one or more metatarsophalangeal joint. Methods The skin flaps were used in 11 cases to repair the big soft tissue defect in foot, including the distal part of foot. The flap upper boundary may surpass the capitulum fibulae; The lower boundary may reach the back line between external malleolus and internal malleolus; Lat-eral boundary could overrun anterior margin of fibula about 2 cm; Inboard boundary could get to medial mar-gin of gastrocnemius muscle. In attention: the two branch vessels from peroneal vessel in the site of 11-13 cm and of 5-7 cm above the outer anker would be included in the flap. Results Ten of 11 skin flaps survived satisfactory. A small, marginal portion of one flap in one case presented necrosis. Conclusion The reverse peroneal artery flap is easy to elevate and safety, which is an ideal flap for a huge soft tissue defect in foot, especial in the distal part of foot.

Adult stem cells from skeletal muscle cells were induced to differentiate into cardiocytes to see if stem cells from another different but histologically-comparable tissues can differentiate to the target cells. Skeletal muscles-derived stem cells (MDSCs) were isolated from adult skeleton muscle tissues by differential adhesion,and immunocytochemically identified by using Sca-1. In order to induce the proliferation but not differentiation of MDSCs,the cells were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium/F12 (DMEM/F12) supplemented with 1:50 B27,20 ng/mL basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF),20 ng/mL epidermal growth factor (EGF) in a suspension for 6 days. Then these stem cells were treated with 5 μmol/L 5-azacytidine for 24 h in an adherence culture. The characteristics of induced cells were examined by immunocytochemistry,quantitative real time RT-PCR and morphological observation of cell phenotype. Our results showed that the appearance of some cells gradually changed from spindle-shape into polygonal or short-column-shape. Some of these post-treated cells could contract spontaneously and rhythmically. The expression of GATA-4 and cTnT was increased 1 and 2 week(s) after the treatment. And about 16.6% of post-treated cells were cTnT-positive. Therefore,we are led to conclude that skeletal muscle-derived stem cells could differentiate into cardiocyte-like cells,which exhibited some characteristics of cardiocytes.
